This feels like a large pet store with many varieties of products for various pets. Interior feels a bit outdated, not modern, and felt like interior was dim. Maybe the shelves are tall, maybe it's darker because of that. I wanted to buy dog treat but it's scattered in different aisles. I saw some at the front of the store, in the middle of the aisle, and down the aisles. I like how the aisles tell you which pet the products are for (i.e. dog, cat, etc). But would like similar products together. Petsmart also has a pet hospital inside which is super nice.

Agustin's shop is clean, whimsically decorated with a really cool fish and turtle pond in front and the reptiles and birds are very well taken care of. Agustin helped me out a couple of years ago when I had to move my Mom out of her home and into an Assisted Living Facility and had to re-home her two large birds. Agustin found a buyer for her Moluccan Cockatoo at a fair price and a home for her other bird. I continue to frequent Agustin's for a feeder rat for my daughter's snake. I have noticed prices have gone up considerably over the years but what hasn't. I do appreciate their frequent feeder mouse/rat card and that they use double paper bags for the critters because they do like to chew free. They always have a great display of reptiles and birds I like to walk through, too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for your reptile and bird needs.

I had to do a double take because I'm due for new prescription glasses, but there it really was. Under $10! Walked out happy with the purchase and looked forward to giving it to the pup. He loved it. It was worth the wander into this quieter wing of the Del Amo mall. The employee couldn't give a smaller rat's ass about the customer service though. Weimaraner-pit (Roofus), and took him to Pet Food Express for a collar. As soon as he got out of the car, he wriggled out of his harness, and was running in the parking lot, right next to busy traffic on Hawthorne blvd! I was scared to death, I thought I was going to see my newly rescued boy hit by a car, right before my eyes. When I was finally able to grab Roofus, I raced him into the store, completely freaked out, shaking like a leaf. Pam immediately took over; she was perfectly calm, and quickly got a basic leash around my boy's neck before he could get dart through the store- or worse- pop out the door and back into traffic. Pam adjusted his harness, Jennifer fitted a new collar on Roofus, and then Pam walked me through the dog tag machine. Employees at Pet Food Express don't just point you to a product, they get involved. They saw my predicament, and they jumped in and started problem solving. I went from nearly-hysterical-new-dog-mom to confident dog mom by the time we walked out. I don't know what would have happened if these kind women hadn't stepped in. There's a very good chance that Roofus would have escaped again. I will be forever grateful for their willingness to jump to my aid without a second thought. They were truly heroes that day!
