Stephanie is amazing and very knowledgeable. They have everything you could need for a pet. This is not a corporate store. And I love it. They also have animals available for adoption, great prices and selection. Rex, the pug loves it and so do we. read more

Creative Pet Supply - Take me to the pet store, daddy - Pet Stores Near Me - San Pedro, California

Incredible pet store They have everything you want from fish to turtles to birds to bunnies to dogs and cats! All the food for these animals and 25 years of experience and service in San Pedro. The angels that work here all love animals and actively rescue and help animals in their personal lives. There is so much love and life in this little pet store. While they don't sell market brands they do have the largest selection of quality pet foods available in the harbor area. They also carry medications and flea control. In addition they run a rescue out of this location called Animals Rule. This rescue has saved thousands of animals. I love animals so much and so do the people who work here. Shop here with love from people who love animals and you're supporting more than just a store. You're supporting a rescue, a family of people who love animals and helping a movement that has been saving animals for 25 years in our little community. read more

The staff at creative pet supplier are so helpful not only with the pets that clients bring in but with community animals at large. Great of pet is the pet store business however there is a rescue that runs at that location animals rule replacement foundation so those two seem to work pretty closely together. The owners come out and greet you at the counter and they have products for every kind of animal I buy products there for my chickens and for my dogs and my cats and I have purchased fish supplies there before and whatever I've got other stuff too pretty much if I have a pet that needs something they'll have this stuff. I really like Stephanie she is always so helpful. Maybe she will get a free lunch or something just because I posted that. I've been shopping there for many many years since before the rescue group got it a nonprofit number I think that's 20 years. I like that you can get supplies for all the different kinds of animals and that it's not a giant big box store. read more

Creative Pet Supply - Pet Stores Near Me - San Pedro, California

I love this place. All of their pet food is high quality and there is a huge variety. The people are super cool. They love animals. They always have cute adoptable dogs and turtles. Some of the residents take awhile to warm up but once they do, a pet or scratch will get a purr out of them. Say high to Candy Corn, Bucket, Batman, and Nessie. Be sure you keep you your fingers away from Jaws. Cute and talkative but he bites. read more

Every time I come here it's always nice to see the birds and animals but staff won't smile or acknowledge us because we are people of color but I've seen them greet and help white people all the time. This old white man seen us and didn't even greet us he just looked at us up and down so It's gotten to the point that I stopped buying anything because I refuse to support a business that doesn't make me feel comfortable. So be mindful if you're anything other than white you might not receive the best customer service. I've been here several times and not once have I received a smile or had someone greet me. Maybe learn how to be less racist. read more

I enjoy taking my dog in touch this supply store. I love the fact they also save animals. Very nice place to walk around d and purchase items not found at petrol or pets mart. Stephanie and her staff are very knowledgeable about dog food read more

Love this place. Great deals on food if your sign up for the club. There's a bunch of animals pumping out free serotonin throughout the shop. They work with multiple local animal organizations to keep good services in Pedro alive. There are dogs and other animals for adoption here at times. You usually get a friendly and sometimes comedic experience cruising through Creative Pet Supply. read more

This place is huge! I come by here first since it is a local spot and they always have what I need and more. I love visiting with all the animals inside and outside. If you're looking for a new addition to your family, stop by here and see what dogs and cats are available! They have a board up front with photos. I wish I could take them all home with me! read more

I adopted a dog, FREDDIE, from Stephanie and Shannon, Animals Rule rescue, here at this pet store. Its AN AMAZING THING these women do, and the store is filled with everything you would need for dogs, cats, birds...everyone in the family! The prices are great, and you are supporting a small business and animal rescue if you shop here. If you have been considering getting a pet, or a friend for your current pet, please stop by here on the weekend and talk to them. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. It's a unique pet store where you can just wander and see some amazing animals especially the birds my favorite. Highly recommended read more

Great that they are doing great with the rescue. Was the best experience getting a Newfoundland rescue. Daniele is the best.

I would not recommend adopting here because of the amazing treatment the workers have treated all the animals. Big bunny, bugs, cutest thing and so happy. Same with the birds and cats, and I say for sure the dogs. I would adopt here because of how lovely their behavior all is, I come to this place to buy supplies for my cat, but they have supplies for every animal you can think of. Their Guinea pigs are the sweetest and this place is unappreciated and not enough people go here. Check it out if you have a pet or thinking of getting one, their recommendations helped my cat pick his favorite food. read more

Great prices and the owner is so kind and knowledgeable. I've never gone to a pet store like this. I don't like Petco and Petsmart because their prices are absurd and they do and sell things that prove they're not about animals. Creative Pet Supply is ALL about the animals. This store is 20 minutes away from me and I am happy to say I will take that drive for the service. Nice to have found my pet store. read more

Creative Pet Supply is the ultimate "buy local" pet supply resource. I'm excited they carry lines of pet food sourced from producers that are from ingredients that are made solely in the United States, from people that they have long time relationships with and know personally. They carry a huge kind of everything needed for fresh and salt water aquariums, as well. The other amazing things this dynamic husband and wife duo do is they run a VERY effective and hugely popular animal rescue non profit called Animals Rule Rescue. They've successfully placed hundred of animals in awesome homes. I can't recommend these wonderful people enough for not only their great store but for how much they foster, love and care for all animals brought to their rescue. Note: Every Saturday is open house adoption day, look at their website or drop in to check out all their pups, rabbits and birds. read more

This cute little shop is hidden away on Harbor Blvd. right past the big West Marine store. This store is not like the fancy pet stores that you go to, it's more of a mom and pop type of store. They get most of their business through the Internet/mail order. They have a wide variety of supplies here but you have to know where to look as the aisles are not marked to clearly. The supplies like one other reviewer mentioned can be dusty but for the saving...it's worth it. They also run an animal rescue from this location. I actually adopted a cat for my mom here. And one of my co-workers adopted two of her dogs here as well. If ever you can not keep the pet that you adopted you are asked to please bring the animal back to this location so that they can find the animal a new home. The owners and staff are very friendly and are eager to help you with any questions. And of course if you have a few extra minutes there are some cute animals that would love to have your attention! read more

This is a pretty decent sized pet store located along Harbor Blvd in San Pedro. It is very convenient if you just got off the freeway and are headed South. I stopped in here the other day while driving around lost in San Pedro. The store was a bit cluttered, but had a large variety of products for sale, including supplies for dogs, cats, birds, fish, small mammals, reptiles and amphibians. They have several large parrots in the store, and some small mammals for sale. They had two or three adoptable kittens tucked away at the back of the store and I saw at least one adult store-cat wandering the isles. At the front, they had several above-ground indoor ponds with aquatic turtles who were very excited to see me. I was surprised to see a skinny pig (mostly hairless guinea pig) up at the front and I asked the man in charge if he sold them there. He said it was one of his wife's personal pets that she'd brought from Hawaii where they knew a breeder. A couple of notes on the merchandise - as a crazy bird lady I very much appreciated the excessive number of different nest options they carried for small birds (finches and the like). I was surprised to see some nest types I hadn't actually seen in stores before. I found a round rope perch for large parrots and wanted to buy it, but try as I might I could not find a price on it. I brought it to the counter and that's when the store owner helped me. He said that he doesn't typically price the merchandise because most of his business is wholesale. It makes sense, but for someone walking in and viewing it like a regular pet store / feed store, it is awkward to have to ask the price of everything instead of just having it easily available. It took the man a little while to get the price for me, actually, since he had to look it up by brand name and the one I had pulled off the wall didn't have a tag on it. Anyway, end result - I liked the price and bought the perch. Final note, they have a LOT more products in the store than they list on their website so if you're in the area and want to check out a pet store with good variety, I recommend this store. read more

Creative is right. Not that what they sell is all that creative, just ordinary household pet "stuff". What is creative is their ability to stay in business (and apparently doing well), in such an odd location and odd business model. I think their primary business is online mail order of pet supplies but then decided to have a brick and mortar retail business as an afterthought. Creative Pet Supplies is located in a warehouse like building that is easily missed by people driving by. Once you enter the building, what you see is a fully stock store that sells supplies for all kinds of family pets. However, what you don't is see are price tag... odd? I thought so. So, I asked. The answer I got was something about being a mail order business in Hawaii so they don't (or maybe can't) show price that may be cheaper...? I am not sure what he was trying to explain to me and I am not sure I am all that interested. However, he finished his explanation by saying their prices are competitive. So I am supposed to gather all the things I am thinking of buying and bring it up to the counter and suffer the uncomfortable scene of saying well "I'll take this one but not that one?" Or maybe they should assign a clerk for each customer to follow the customer around the store naming off the prices? Hey maybe they do have good prices but I was just not comfortable with that way of shopping. Next time? I'll take a look at their website. read more

This is the little pet supply shop that could, can, and will deliver for you. In my mind, the store that has it all when it comes to your pet's healthy needs. For exotic pet owners who have animals (2 chinchillas) on specialized diets, I come to Creative to place orders on feed. Even though the wait can sometimes be excruciatingly long (~2 weeks) for your special order to arrive, you just need to plan well in advance so there isn't panic settling in for your furry ones. The staff here is very friendly, accommodating, and sacrificial when it comes to ensuring that their customers are satisfied. They will even follow-up and update you on the status of the feed. And I even get a sense that they don't mark-up the prices all that much. Whatever it may be, it's well worth it since I don't have to drive to Downey and haul a 50 lb. bag around. The storefront isn't that well noticeable, and I'm sure many have driven right by it without even knowing. There is plenty of parking in their lot, which is decorated with potted plants. Once inside, you'll be greeted with live rabbits, chinchillas, turtles, etc. The set-up is warehouse-like with crates of dog food stacked high. What I like is that they carry premium dog food like Canidae that are rated highly by vets and independent dog owner sites. You'll never see Pedigree, Purina or other low-end crap food here. read more

The hours posted on Yelp are incorrect, if you go to Creative's website you will see that they don't open until 10 a.m. Here are there hours, Monday to Friday 10AM to 6PM, and Saturday 10AM to 4PM Large Warehouse of almost everything you need at good prices and the owner will order something for you if you want something that's hard to find. They even have pet adoptions of rescued animals on weekends ( call for specifics) out in the parking lot as the owner has a heart of gold! read more

Super friendly staff!!! This place has it all, they have a wide variety of supplies that I have never been able to find at other pet shops and the place is so clean as well. First time here! This place is a diamond in the rough....prices are out of this world! I would prefer going here over petco or petsmart. The girl who worked there was helpful and knowledgeable in places to take dogs for low cost vaccines/services. Plus they have animals you can adopt! I love the turtles in the front read more

I've been coming here for many years and I highly recommend them. The prices are great - especially on big ticket items like large cages. I adopted one of my dogs from here as well and one of the best things about them is that they don't discriminate dog breeds or ages. They have pit bulls, chihuahuas and pretty much everything in between. They make sure the dogs are fixed and chipped before going home too. Please consider checking them out for your pets' needs or to adopt a pet. read more

Friendly staff but I never trust stores where none of their items has price tags on them. Maybe it's just me???

This is absolutely, positively the best pet supply shop in the South Bay. Their prices are reasonable and they have a huge selection of stuff.... and are the friendliest and most helpful folks in town to boot! read more

Love this place and the owners. They have passion for animals. All good quality merchandise. They might not have every brand but they have the good ones. Wish they carried Orijen though. You can find dog, cat, rabbit, birds and reptiles supply here. There are always rescued pets for adoption. They save animals n put them for adoption, they do not sale them. Most of the merchandise don't have prices which was so not ok in my book, but after years and years of shopping here, I know now nothing is over priced, nothing. I am more than happy to spend my money here since I know it will go to save another homeless pet. They are trustworthy and honest. I love this pet store and everything that's in it. They have live exotic animals that are such a joy to see. But everytime I go I never get greeted or even acknowledged. One lady was very rude to my 7 year old for asking questions about certain animals they have. Another female emoloyee that rang up my items wasn't a joy to deal with. The staff isn't pleasant at all. There was a young gentleman, I did not catch his name, that was very helpful with my questions about my reptiles. He made my visit a better one. read more

I mainly just buy dog food here. I really like everything about this store though. Yes, the location is not really located near any other shopping venues... but you have to love how quirky the whole setup is. The boat stuck in the building above the entrance is awesomely weird. They have some really cool exotic birds and turtles etc. Inside. They also have a nice pet adoption program going on which I think is great. Customer service is excellent as well. There was a day I went in where the place was absolutely packed. The woman who I am assuming owns the place was helpful(bought more than dog food that day) despite all the young kids running around on what seemed like a class field trip. More often than not though I get rung up by the pretty young lady who works there, which has never been anything less than a pleasant experience either. In summary, I really enjoy doing my business here much more than at some big chain like Petco. I prefer putting my money in the pocket of local business, and I feel even better about it since this place runs a pet adoption. So if you (A) live in San Pedro and (B) have and/or want a pet, then this is the place you should be doing your business. Really that simple : ) read more

I think the place is great, they have lots of nice things I've never seen online or in a pet store. I've met the owners before, they're nice people. We've had conversations about our rabbits and I've been introduced to some of their elderly pets that they've adopted, and there are more pups that they have for adoption. I think it's great that they take in hard cases. We mainly go there for rabbit supplies and it's always fun to look around, they always have new stuff to try for our rabbits. read more
