We have two cats already. My kids know how to interact with animals. I was present with my three year old and supervising her interactions to be sure she pet the cats nicely. My son has been to several cat cafes, is calm, and was just petting the cats quietly. An older woman with short brown hair snatched a toy out of my daughter's hand "to be sure she didn't loose it" I was stunned to see an adult snatch a toy from a toddler like that. She was also making comments about my children being there but they were doing nothing wrong. I could understand if my kids were out of hand but they weren't. If you don't like kids in there, make a no kids rule- but good luck adopting to good families when you treat them like this.

We had our heart set on a little kitty, and we found the sweetest angel. The process was very easy, and they provided so much great info regarding our new cat (especially for us since it was our first). The fee charged is more than affordable, and they sent us off with everything we needed to get started. They even let us borrow the pet carrier so that we could bring our girl home! Truly nice people. They called a few days after to see how we were doing and to see if we needed anything. They were great at making us feel like we had a resource, very happy we went with this choice. I recommend anyone looking to hang out with cats or to adopt!

Matilda *previously Denim* is healthy, sweet and has done great in exploring her surroundings in just 2 days with us. She has adjusted well to our bulldog, cat and bird. I adopted two cats for Shelby. This was my first cat since childhood and as an adult I'd only had a…read moredog. When the cats arrived their tummies were a bit upset. I was going through a lot and have a child and all the vets were full. Shelby got me a vet appointment and I didn't have to pay for it. She also got our cats diarrhea meds. I was still freaking out and she offered to foster them for me until they were better. This is not how most rescues treat you after you adopt a pet. Shelby truly cares about the animals she adopts out and it was worth every penny. If you are adopting a pet definitely contact them and consider donating because they do good work. Our cats have the best temperaments as well.

She found me my dream long-haired, male, orange tabby, and then worked hard to find me a beautiful complementary brother. She's responsive to my text messages and she's really easy to work with regarding scheduling for vaccinations and getting the kitties fixed. She is a saint, and the world could definitely use more people like her! I have recommended so many people to Catmandoo because they are doing this for all the right reasons. We were not looking for a dog. We live in Las Vegas where it's hot about 7 months of the year. All…read moredogs we've had previously lived outside when we lived in CA and OR. With the same thinking, it would not be fair to have a dog here ......unless of course it lived indoors with us. We were blindsided when our son brought Buffy two years ago. He just showed up, and like "Here!" She followed him everywhere from one end of the house to the other and back and forth. When he left she cried and whimpered. I laid down on the floor with her and she looked at me with soulful brown eyes, pleading, "Please help me!" I cried and hugged her and told her, "I love you!" That was it! She was mine. It took some adjusting to my new mommy role added on top of the other things I do everyday. When it became apparent I was keeping her, I contacted GTTDR and spoke with Marcy. She explained their dogs are never to be taken out of state and that she wanted to send someone to Las Vegas to do a home inspection. Laurie came for the visit and saw how happy Buffy was. I allowed her to take photos and send it to Marcy. Laurie seemed pleased that Buffy had a good home, but was quite prepared to take her back to California if requirements weren't met. Marcy said, "So I hear your home is fabulous......" I was impressed that GTTDR went to such lengths. Thanks to Heather also for rescuing Buffy from a kill shelter. Two years later, we love Buffy more than you can imagine. She is family. She is three now. Though she is my primary responsibility for care, etc. she loves her dad and her grandma who lives with us. She gets three walks a day at three different parks in the area. She has tons of doggy and people friends and she loves to run and chase birds, rabbits and chipmunks. She is the fastest runner at any of the parks. Her vet says she's athletic, referring to her muscle tone. In the beginning she couldn't walk on a leash without pulling. She barked at everyone and every dog even if it were two blocks away. Now, she walks off-leash, listens to commands, understands everything I say, and has helped other dogs come out of their shell. She wants to be friends with all dogs with the exception of one. She looks to me to see if I give the okay to say 'hello' and she wags her tail and goes to the other dog/s. She is the sweetest soul you will ever meet. Everyone loves Buffy. She is good when visitors come and loves attention they give. She has such confidence and isn't shy about gentle pawing to get more rubs. On our walk this morning, she turned back to look at me with such a loving look, my friend asked, "What was that look?" I said, "She loves me!" He said, "That's what it looked like!" I'm happy she's ours. She deserves a good home and all the love she gets. She is secure and happy. Don't buy. Rescue!

They let us spend time with a while bunch of kittens before we decided on Langley now named Luci. Luci is the most well adjusted, friendly, fearless, playful little spazz every! You can tell the babies are loved and well cared for. The adoption fee is unbeatable as well! It was the start of something new. I'm definetly NOT a cat person.I would never think to myself "I…read moreNEED to have a pet cat !!!". But that doesn't mean I hate cats. Just more of a dog person. One morning I heard the tiniest meows coming from my drive way. I thought I was hearing things at first but then I realized... that's a kitten not a bird !! It took a broom & back & forth, but there was the tiniest black kitten under my husbands car !! We ended up naming him Lude. We fed Lude & he was a bit shy at first. It didn't take long for him to warm up to me. I made the effort of petting him daily so he wouldn't turn feral. I wasn't sure of the gender & I was worried about the possibility of him being a female & then there would be too many kittens in our backyard. I definitely don't want to contribute to the stray cat population here !! I did some research & came across this little gem not far at all from my house. With a couple emails, a date was set for Lude's surgery. The services offered included spay/neuter, rabies, de worming & flea treatment. The Little Lion Foundation also loans out the traps so no need to go out to buy one. The day of the surgery I was able to put Lude in the trap & didn't have to set up the trap to trick him in - so that was easy ! I dropped him off early in the morning & picked him up the same day around 4 pm or so. Lude was so calm & quiet the entire car ride home !! I left him in the cage over night which made me worry he would panic - but he didn't. The next day I was able to let him out & today he's back to his old self again clipped ear & all. BIG shout out to this amazing non-profit foundation !! Thank you for helping out Lude. We love the little lion foundation !

Not only was the presentation very thorough, it was efficient and organized. There are so many opportunities to volunteer, from hands on to digital/remote. You can tell staff is passionate about their work and it's truly inspiring. They make great use of technology to streamline the self-scheduling process and are understanding of people's schedules and lives in relation to their volunteer commitments. I hope everyone gets an opportunity to help or donate to such a great organization.
