After my own experience and now reading the reviews, I'd be leery adopting from this rescue. I had the same experience as others had as well. Within hours of bringing my puppy home it had bloody diarrhea and was vomiting up worms. His gums went pale and I rushed him to the emergency hospital. He had a very bad parasitic infection from roundworm infestation and it also caused gastroenteritis. This whole ordeal cost me $3200 at the emergency vet. Round worms are highly contagious amongst puppies and there were about 7 of them all sharing water at the adoption event. I text her advising her of the situation, that it cost me a small fortune, and that ALL of the other puppies needed treatment asap so this didn't happen to any other potential adopter. Her response was, "I am so sorry. I had no clue. They showed no signs at my house." My mom adopted the litter mate and she also ended up having roundworm, bloody diarrhea etc. but we were able to get her into our regular vet in time to get another round of medication. I just really have a problem with someone charging $550 for sick puppies. They should be completely vetted before charging people and adopting out sick puppies. My puppy almost died and I know that $550 on top of a $3200 ER vet bill is not something everyone can afford. read more

Adopted a dog for my daughter, they claimed to be shy when in fact the dog was aggressive. I went out of town and was in contact with them within 24 hours expressing my concerns about the dog's aggressiveness and she gave me recommendations on what to do. When I returned home and approached the dog, it growled showing its teeth and lunged at me. The claimed the dog was a corgi/beagle mix but looked more like a Golden Retriever. DO NOT consider these people they won't return your fees even after lying about the pet. I will be suing them in court!!! read more

Just be careful and make sure the dog you're adopting is healthy. I adopted my puppy in Aug 2021; she was filthy and had gunt in her ears. Thankfully, I took her to my local vet, where the vet found a large amount of Giardia in her fecal exam. My vet seemed very concerned about her health and prescribed medication which helped eliminate the parasite. My vet and I agreed that I saved her life because she was very malnourished when I adopted her, and now she's happy living her best life. Just be cautious and take care of your new pet, especially if you have another dog at home like me. Take the new pet to a vet immediately to ensure they are okay. If you read these reviews and still decide to adopt a puppy from this rescue, have a vet appointment set up and take your puppy there right away. I adopted a male chihuahua puppy from this rescue on 10/19 and he was vomiting and lethargic within 24 hours and needed to be rushed to the emergency vet which cost over $3k. Turns out he had 2 parasites, giardia and coccidia and probably would not have made it if I had not taken him right away as he was refusing food. Rose, the owner of this rescue, completely dismissed me and refused to provide any assistance after giving me a sick dog. She swore up and down that he was healthy when I reached out for her about it and refused to refund me after I asked for my $550 adoption fee back "because she'll have to take his brother to the vet" and was also very dismissive that "he probably only had giardia, these things happen". I did not see the conditions she is keeping these puppies in as she takes them outside to meet you when you see the puppies. I didn't realize this was a red flag at first but I don't believe she is caring for these puppies to a decent standard especially if all of her dogs are sick. Be very wary of her and her rescue. In fact you're probably better off going to the humane society, at least you won't have to vaccinate and spay your new pet yourself. Don't trust this lady, she will lie to you, give you a sick dog, and refuse to take any responsibility. read more

Please do not adopt a puppy from this so-called rescue. There is only one person working and operating this rescue, and her name is Rose. She purchases street dogs from Mexico and sells these puppies for $450. I should know because I bought a puppy from her in a parking lot in Fullerton, CA. The puppy was very thin, and she told me because he was a street dog from Mexico and had not eaten much. She stated she had him one month, and he had gained a little weight. He was four months old. I felt so badly for this puppy, and I adopted him. She claimed he had the first round of shots and offered to give him the next vaccination if I met her the following week in the parking lot again. I told her I preferred to take him to a vet, and she gave me the business card for her vet. When I got my puppy home, I noticed his eyes and nose were running. He was extremely emaciated and had watery diarrhea. He felt very warm as if he had a fever and was extremely lethargic. I brought him to her vet the next day. Her vet thought the puppy had distemper. Along with what I just mentioned above, the puppy had a high fever, parasites that were highly contagious, misaligned teeth, and his paws on the pads were swollen and scab-like. She said he had distemper but recommended I have him tested to be sure. The test came back positive for distemper. When I told Rose this, she denied it and said he was running around playing the day before I adopted him. She paid for half of the vet fees and medication. I told her if he had distemper, then his two brothers she supposedly sold and another puppy she had sold the day before definitely had parasites - not to mention distemper. I found that only 20% of puppies recover from distemper. There is no cure for distemper, and neurological damage from the disease is usually permanent in the event they recover. My poor little puppy suffered. I bought him June 13, 2021, and I had to have him euthanized on July 20, 2021. He got worse each day. At the end, he developed neurological damage and was unable to walk and would fall over when he stood up. I tried so hard to save him. He would start to recover, then something else would go wrong with him. He started having tremors while he was sleeping shortly after I got him. They got porgressively worse each day until the end when he was unable to stand. I reported Rose to the Department of Agriculture. I do not know the results of my complaint; however, Yelp has her rescue as closed. I honestly do not think she closed her rescue because I saw an ad for a puppy on Pet Place I believe it is called. She also sells dogs at Pet Smart or Petco. I reported her there as well. This woman does not care at all for the puppies. She is just in it for the money. She has connections in Mexico including a vet in Tijuana and also another connection in San Diego. What she is doing is illegal not to mention putting other dogs in jeopardy by exposing them to whatever illnesses these poor puupies have. read more

Oh Furry Canines Rescue... you strange little dog rescue. I had never heard of dogs getting vaccines in a Rite Aid parking lot before you. I had never heard of selling puppies at 7 weeks instead of 8, or only having a sketchy budget veterinarian do spay/neuter surgeries. I have now. Maybe other people are okay with this, but I'm not very comfortable with it. She literally has everyone line up in a dirty parking lot, and holds the dogs in midair to give shots. Mine is scared of needles (probably because of this), and we had to try to hold her down (in midair) while being vaccinated. She fidgeted because she was scared, and the needle sliced her and made her bleed. That is the vaccination part. My other big gripe is the spay/neuter surgery. We were made to drive far out of the way her chosen vet; a self-advertised "low cost" veterinarian. I get that she is trying to run a business, but this place is sketchy looking. Regardless, we made the appointment with her, and confirmed twice that we had booked it. My fiancee and I both asked for the day off work, drove 30 minutes to garden grove, only to have the receptionist tell us that we had no appointment. "Rose didn't call you that the appointment was cancelled? she was supposed to tell you." great, well she didn't. I called Rose right after, and she was apparently aware? but she didn't feel it was necessary to let me know when I confirmed the appointment literally the day before? Anyway, I tried to get my money back just for the spay cost so I could find my own vet, but Rose refused. She said she guarantees this vet can take my dog next week, but that's what she said for my original appointment, and I can't afford to take another day off of work. just a really stressful way to adopt a dog, and one that I wouldn't be comfortable doing a second time. For what it's worth, Rose isn't that bad. She is very available, and tries to make accommodations. She just doesn't think things through, and it has serious consequences for adopters. read more

I was initially grateful to Rose for helping me with an adoption. I'd encountered a problem with an out-of-state adoption I'd already booked a flight to California for. She had a Yorkie mix and quickly approved my application. Additionally, she picked me up and dropped me off at the train station in Fullerton. There was a problem, however, at the LAX, and I returned the dog that same day. I wasn't able to work out a different way to get the dog home with me at a later date. She retained the dog and my $525 adoption fee. As it stands, I have received no response from her to several e-mails I sent. I am due a refund of $525 but don't see that coming my way any time soon. Is it possible to put zero stars. Rose does not care about animals whatsoever. She gets the puppies illegally from Mexico and does not care if they are sick when she sells them. The puppies she gets are usually under six months old. She has a vet, someone who gets the dogs from the streets, and someone who transports the dogs from Mexico to the United States. She pays these people a minimal amount of money and then drives to San Diego to pick up the dogs. After purchasing a puppy with distemper from her who I ended up having to euthanize, I opted to call the Department of Agriculture and asked them the criteria of what it entails to bring a dog from Mexico to the United States. According to the Department of Agriculture, the puppies she gets from Mexico are brought to the United States illegally. In order for a puppy to enter the United States legally, they must be at least six months old; they have to have had been given a rabies vaccine for at least 28 days prior to entering the United States; a travel permit is needed along with a clean bill of health. My puppy did not meet any of these requirements. Rose brings puppies to the United States illegally and does not care if they are sick. When you bring this to her attention, she denies the puppies are sick. I am sure I cannot be the only person Rose sold a puppy to that had distemper! Below is what transpired if you are interested: Adopting a puppy from Rose of Furry Canines Rescue is a disgrace to a rescue organization. I saw a puppy on Petfinder, and I sent an email. One minute later, I received a phone call from Rose telling me the puppy I inquired about had been adopted the previous day, but she had another puppy she wanted me to see. I met her in a parking lot in Fullerton. She had a little puppy in a crate in the back of her SUV. The poor little puppy was emaciated. I felt bad for him and opted to adopt him. Rose said she was giving me a discount and charged me $450 for the four-month-old puppy. When I asked Rose why he was so skinny. She stated she had the puppy for one month, and he was skinnier when she originally got him. She went on to tell me that he was a street dog from Mexico. She had a paper from a Tijuana vet where he was neutered. She then told me he had his first vaccination (which she gave him herself), and he was due for his second one the following weekend. She told me her vet did not charge much and gave me the vet's card. Upon taking him home, I realized the puppy was sick. He felt extremely warm and had a fever. Not only was he emaciated to the point where you could see his ribs and feel his backbone. He also was very warm as if he had a fever. His eyes had yellow/green pus coming from them, and his nose was running. I took him to Rose's vet the following morning. The vet examined the puppy and thought he had distemper because of the symptoms he was having. He also had a high fever, his lungs were congested, and along with his eyes and nose running and him being severely underweight, the vet said his teeth were malformed which happens when a puppy has distemper. He was tested, and the test came back positive for distemper. He was also found to have Coccidia (a very contagious parasite). I told Rose what her vet said. She did offer to pay for his medicine and split the vet bill. Gee how nice considering she sold me a sick dog! She denied the puppy was sick and then tried to deny his distemper test was not accurate. I asked her for my money back, but she refused to give it to me. I then questioned her about the puppy being from Mexico. I also asked her how the other three puppies were that she sold right before my puppy. They most definitely also had distemper and Coccidia as both are highly contagious. After I learned my puppy had distemper, I began researching it. I found there is no cure for distemper and only 20% of puppies survive and half of adult dogs. It is a horrible disease which causes the dog to suffer severely. Each day my puppy got worse. I did everything I could to save him. At the end, he began having tremors so badly he could not even stand. My poor little puppy lived five more weeks and suffered so badly. The poor little thing didn't know what was happening to him - why he was shaking and why he couldn't walk. I got him through the pneumonia he had, and I thought he was going to make it after surviving that. He didn't; it was so very sad just watching him suffer. I called Rose and told her he was dying; she didn't care. I texted her and told her when he died. She didn't care and took no responsibility for his death. read more

She brings sick dogs from Mexico for a tax write off, she doesn't care about dogs AT ALL. She brings her young daughter along to gain sympathy as well. She kept making a point of leaving a donation because it's a tax write off. So many red flags but we were blinded by love with who we thought would be our new puppy. We only had our two month old puppy for 4 days before she died. She was sick all four days. We took her to THREE DIFFERENT urgent emergency vets and none of them could figure out why she was so sick but all mentioned it was definitely a deadly virus of some kind. Our puppy lost a dramatic amount of weight and never ate or drank water. When we called Rose to get more information on where she took the puppies to get shots at she said "all I know is whatever is on the paper I gave you. All the puppies I still have are fine" I hadn't even brought up the other puppies, only "when someone in the past has asked you this, where do you refer them? We just need some more background information on where you took them so the vets can discuss" she would insist on looking at the paper and her dogs are fine. My family and I were looking for our first dog for a while and finally had found a cute little boy online named Louie. Once I saw him, I emailed Rose immediately and she was very quick to answer.
