Boogalooloo! Been meaning to stop in here forever and I finally did, today. Avoiding finding wifi and doing fun tasks for a few minutes, I stopped in for a peek. First, the cutest, nicest girls work here. After we commiserated on why, exactly, Cup (the only coffee store ever in TB) flopped, I took a pass around the store. So many pretties I would buy if I had a shopping budget (that's another story) - including the chic dress I put up as a picture for you. Swingy tops - so transitional! - and really, all the pieces of clothing I'd buy from dresses to tops and more. One thing I did notice is that there really isn't a jeans selection. Kinda odd, but there are other boutiques I can visit for that. Pretty, reasonably priced jewelry selection, especially in necklaces. Overall, quite reasonable prices, for the kind of pretty stuff they have (not the kind of place you visit for work basics, on the whole - except for that dress I found). Looking in the store windows and at a selection of their inventory online, I was in love. They carry Eva Franco, one of my favorite dress designers. Her pieces manage to be vintage and modern all at once and I just love them. When I saw that Boogaloos had a Scoutmob, I was thrilled at the thought of getting one for a bargain. Unfortunately, while Eva's size 12 always fits me like a glove, Boogaloos has apparently opted not to stock them. Or size 10s. Or really even size 8s. I think I found one dress in a size large in the entire store, and I saw one size 10 from Max & Cleo: they make up to a size 16. Maybe the bigger sizes go first. Maybe a gaggle of size 10 and 12 girls came through and bought out the entire store. But my guess is that this isn't the case and that Boogaloos chooses to stock sizes 0-6 predominantly. And that makes me sad. I don't know if this is a problem at their other location, but I know that even with the Scoutmob I won't be coming back here unless I hear that this was a weird fluke. I wouldn't be writing this review if it was just the 12s that they didn't have, but the fact that it was sooo skewed toward small really made me frustrated and annoyed. A bummer, for sure. For those of you who *are* able to shop here, FYI: the majority of dresses are in the $200-$250 range and cutesy tops are about $90+. But, really great quality and beautiful stand-alone pieces. read more

i got the chicken plater and it was the worst food I've eaten in my life. the chicken was a salty and the spinach tasted time pure salt. the cornbread if we shall call it that was dry as sand. if you're trying to live a long life without getting a stroke i suggest you avoid this food. plus you pay a mandatory tip charge for crap service. read more

If you're looking for a pretty dress to wear for a wedding or special occasion, check out this place. Thanks to Scoutmob for making me aware that Boogaloos opened a 2nd boutique in Brookhaven's new Town shopping center. The space is gorgeous esp. the dressing rooms - each like its own parlor! You'll have to see for yourself to understand. I loved too that the service was very friendly, helpful, attentive, and personal - not snobby like some boutiques. No surprise, the clothes is expensive - but not terribly. I don't know if I saw anything on sale. However I liked so many things and I found things that I could see myself wearing. (FYI - I usu. have a hard time finding something in boutiques.) I fell in love with a Jackie O dress which fit perfectly, and the perfect dress to wear for my dad's 80th birthday party ... and thanks to Scoutmob, it was an easy decision :) FYI - they're located in the very back of the shopping center on the left side. read more

I liked a top in the store, but wanted to try another size. The top was not in the store, but available to order on line. I was hesitant to order thinking what if I did not like it. With this in mind, my daughter and I specifically asked the salesperson if we would be able to return it for a refund should it not work out to which we were assured would not be a problem. Although I was out of town the day the shirt arrived, I returned the shirt within 4 days of receiving it in the mail. The salesperson who was very nice, had to contact (I believe the owner, who was not immediately available) to obtain return approval. The owner would only issue a store credit. My return experience was not positive. Sadly, will not be shopping there. read more

This is the worst place to ever go if you are looking for a nice restaurant to eat and have an intimate time with your wife. First and for most who charges a cover charge to a restaurant? They charge $20 just to get in. With me thinking I'm at a restaurant, I didn't have cash. So I was told I use a the atm inside. It had a $4 service charge. Once we were in this restaurant, we were given a table but had an hour and a half time limit. We sat at the table for 30mins and no waiter or waitress came to take our order or ever offer water. I paid a total of $34 dollar to receive nothing and having to go to another restaurant just to eat. Fuck Boogaloos and I'm telling everyone I know not to patronize this restaurant. read more

I've been to the one in Ponce City Market, and the Brookhaven location. They have lots of cute clothes, and I've found something special every time I've gone, but the staff could be more helpful. They are always very nice, but I always welcome a little more help and participation from boutique salespeople. It's why I go to boutiques! read more

I have been a Boogaloos customer in Decatur for years and finally checked out the new store. I love it! Same super friendly and personal service, great selection, and I love the design and feeling of the store. They carry a few different brands from the Decatur store, so it is definitely worth checking it out. Contrary to what someone said above, I find that the price range for tops actually starts more around $50 and there are plenty of super cute dresses between $100 and $200. read more

DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES. This review is about Boogaloos at Avalon. Cute clothing but abysmal customer treatment. I selected a skirt for a friend, but having read their return policy - must return in 10 days, no exceptions -- I explained BEFORE THE TRANSACTION that I could not give the skirt to my friend for another 5 weeks. The employee, who was the store manager, said that was not a problem at all and that she would make a note on the receipt. As she was completing the transaction I reminded her that I needed her 10-day return policy to start ticking on the date I could give the gift to my friend so to be sure to write the note. She then said, AFTER THE CHARGE WENT THROUGH, the period of time I needed was too long and that she could give me two calendar days after the gift was given. I asked her to credit back the skirt since my friend may not be back in town by then and I did not want to take that risk. I reminded her that she had told me just three minutes before that she would extend the return period. She said she misunderstood. She refused to give my money back - only store credit -- and said their return policy was clear, the same policy she was willing to bend BEFORE she ran my credit card. I asked to speak to the store owner. She said that was impossible. I continued to insist, so she disappeared and called the store owner herself. My purchase exceeded $800, and this was my first visit. One would think the store owner would have the foresight to recognize me as a potential returning customer, but not so. The store owner refused to refund the skirt. She only offered store credit. The manager did not let me talk to the owner to explain that the manager had in fact promised to extend the return period. I asked when the store owner was going to be in the store next. The answer was never. Not an owner or manager that I ever want to deal with again. read more
