The decor and vibe here are like 'collegiate meets I got a good job'--it's stylish, inviting, and sophisticated without trying too hard. The customer service was truly top-notch. I wish I could remember the name of the young lady who helped me, but she was super friendly, knowledgeable, and gave me fantastic suggestions. I wasn't planning to shop during my trip, but I couldn't leave without picking up a few pieces. Their unique style really nails the 'youthfully responsible' look I'm going for as I enter my 40s, haha. My only wish? For them to open a location in DC--they'd be a hit!

Owner doesn't care about employees, hell-- the store manager be working his ass off day in and day out (who i DID felt bad for.) Store manager was pulling sneaky shit behind the scenes. Taking away a huge chunk of my hours, LYING to me saying "its because you're still in training," when his ass could've easily broke it to me. Hope him and the owner achieve that "1 mill" they so call want to do. Can't believe I was sacrificing MY health and MY time selling clothes for an employer who could drop me like a fly cause theres only so much you can do SELLING CLOTHES. All in all, Elk head clothing do have good quality clothes, but you can find others for much cheaper with the same quality. They carry a good array of merchandise...from some of my favorite more expensive lines such as Ella Moss, Tart and Michael Stars to more affordable lines....so there is something or everyone. I have gone in and found $200 dresses I love but also plenty of cute tops in the $50-$60 range. They have cute accessories too. The owner is great and I love when she is there working. She is really good at helping you pick out things that work for you and your body type and she is always suggesting things I would otherwise never try....and then end up loving. I feel like she is honest and I don't feel like she is trying to push things on me. Sometimes I leave empty handed and they don't make you feel like you aren't welcome back because you didn't buy something. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because of the limited sizes they carry in some items. I realize that in order to carry a variety they can't purchase deep into size runs but a lot of times they have things I want and are out of my size M or L as it seems they might only get 1. Great place with cute stuff. So glad to have this near my house.

He pulls out the schedule of activities and reads off "Semi-formal or Indian." Hmmmm...we called up a couple of our Indian friends to make sure we wouldn't be offending anyone if we showed up decked out in traditional garb and, once we got the thumbs up, ventured out to see what we could come up with! My mother actually recommended this shop - she loves the colors and sparkles of Indian clothing - that is found next to Chat Patti near the N. Druid Hills and Briarcliff Target. I had initially planned to get a sari, but the saleswoman steered me toward a salwaar kameez (dress with matching pants) after warning me that attempting to wrap the sari on my own could prove to be more challenging than understanding the Lost finale. Clothing sizes vary from US clothes, so be sure to grab a wide range to try on and get the feel for the sizing before you get your heart set on any specific outfit. With some assistance, I started out with a few that made me look like a dowdy mother of the bride, followed by a few that were cut so skimpily in the front that they were practically obscene. Eventually I found the perfect fit in a gorgeous purple/fuschia number with elaborate beading on the bust. Inspired by my clear affinity for wearing Indian clothing (or perhaps the realization that wider range of options = greater potential for sales), my saleslady relented on the sari issue, picked out a gorgeous burgundy and gold number, and showed me twice (I assisted the second time) how to wrap it. I almost remembered how to do it myself (many thanks to Youtube for thre refresher course!) later! The people in the store assured me that if I was really in a bind, anyone at the wedding would be happy to assist me, although I imagine it would have caused an interesting stir if I had marched into the reception with my sari half-wrapped... I ended up getting both outfits - salwar kameez for the morning ceremony and lunch and the sari for the evening reception, and travelin' man got a traditional outfit for the morning as well. We even got a discount, although I am sure our price was still twice as much as what would have been offered to Desi customers. Although I felt somewhat self-conscious when I first arrived and started poking around, being the only non-Indian in the store, by the time I left I felt like part of the family. So don't be afraid to ask for help! And give yourself time to really dig around - there are so many colors, patterns, beading, etc. that every outfit in the store is truly unique. You'll want to be able to take your time as you sort through all of the different options.

This is a cute lil retail shop located in Ponce City Market. Based off of their social media, they just opened up in November. Bombchel Factory is a black owned and woman owned small business. I didn't really read about them until I got home, but I love the story and mission the owner Archel has created for her business. The store is open and accepting to all walks of life. This shop has a number of African inspired items and patterns which is displayed through clothing, jewelry, candles, etc. I was drawn to the tie-dye Atlanta Influences Everything long sleeve. The shirt is unisex and comes in a variety of color patterns. I will say the store and clothing is geared more towards women as there isn't really any men clothing that I noticed other than the unisex shirts or hoodies. There's a number of other things in there I'd live to get and will definitely be returning to get. I'd say their prices are fairly on par with similar shops/boutique style shops. The shirt I think was $60, which some may find on the expensive end, but it didn't surprise me for a small business as a lot of these items are hand crafted and there's no huge manufacturing things as major retail businesses would have. The two staff members that were working at the time were very friendly and helpful during my visit, and not pushy at all which I like. All in all, it's a cute shop and it's nice to see exposure to more small black owned businesses in the city, as well as in Ponce City Market.
