I was shopping for dresses over the weekend and decided to stop in Loft. I have never shopped here…read morebefore but figured I'd check it out because all of my friends LOVE it. I found a dress, tried it on, decided I'd like to purchase it. Only problem was they only have one in my size and it was damaged. I asked a sales associate to check the other stores to see if one had that same dress in my size undamaged. First they called Lenox, then Atlantic Station. They couldn't do anyone to check on the item. They then offered to order the item. I didn't need the dress right away so I was fine with it. Then they hit me with the "Do you want to open a store credit card today?" My answer was "No thank you." I don't need a credit card for a store I never shopped at before. The associate started to get a bit of attitude and informed me I would have to pay shipping because I do not have the store card. I thought this was ridiculous and decided to pass on the dress. Overall I was disappointed in the level of customer service at this location. I get that stores have policies but making a customer pay shipping on an item that they cannot get in the store because it is damaged is ridiculous especially at the price point they are selling. Next time I pass a LOFT store in the mall I will probably pass.

Uniquely enough this store is located at the very far end of the mall versus where I parked by Saks Fifth Avenue. On this particular day, it was great to see the store with a lot of staff and a lot of clients. However, I was not pleased with the fact that I had to wait in line to get inside. I was also not pleased at the security guard at the door only asked me out of the people in line if I had any intention of buying anything or if my visit was purely just to look. I would like to say that this was not done intentionally and I would like to say that this was not done on the basis of race however, the women in front of me who are in line we're not asked these questions and also did not look like me. Luckily, the lady who helped us inside was very kind and understanding. I had to make my annual in person physical visit to the store. So I do not have a relationship here however I have a relationship at a different store. The selection here was average. I thought there would be more options here considering that it was Atlanta however it was decent. It was very busy, especially for a weekend Saturday. I did manage to find a few things in stock and make my annual physical in person purchases. So I did not walk away empty-handed, or overly disappointed despite the unwelcome greeting by the security guard.

The lady that helped me originally was busy with another customer (fine), and I DO NOT mind waiting, I teach my daughter all the time that you have to 'Wait your turn'. What I do not like when it comes to customer service is no acknowledgement of your presence, standing around until someone acknowledges that you exist (the store is VERY small, you can't be missed), being helped like there are a million other things you could be doing with your time and ultimately feeling like you could either take or leave my business. There is always someone at the front door to greet me and I appreciate that this store is located on the perimeter of Cumberland Mall so I can get in and get out and not have to deal with mall related foolishness. The young lady who checked me out was friendly and asked how much shopping experience was and seemed to genuinely care about whether or not I found what I needed.
