Great service and fresh food. Nice find in the Exton area, we had often driven right past this place. We got the ahi tuna sandwich and chicken quesadilla, both very good and lots of flavor. You order at the counter and can take to go or they will bring out to your table. The server kept checking in to make sure we liked our food and had everything we needed. Found this place on Yelp and decided to try it for lunch. It's close to the Exton Mall next to Dunkin Donuts. Small but quaint dining room, very warm atmosphere and clean. Soft rock music played in the background and we were able to carry on normal conversation. The establishment offers a diverse breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu which is posted up front. My wife, daughter, and I placed our order with the owner and the food was ready in a timely manner. I ordered the cheesesteak and my wife and daughter split a chicken cheese steak. We ordered fries as our side. The meal was amazing! Honestly, the cheesesteak was as good as any Philly I've ever had. At one point the owner visited to check on us and we found him to be friendly and responsive to questions about his cafe. This is a really great place and I'm so glad we found it. My husband and I finally stopped in Bonu's Cafe a few days ago for the first time after driving passed it every day since they opened. Immediately, we were greeted by the very personable and professional owner. The atmosphere was comforting and the service was simply great. We only stopped in for coffee but it was the perfect first impression! We have yet to eat the food but we highly recommend going here just to meet the awesome owner, he truly appreciates his customers! Went on a Sunday for lunch to use a Restaurant.com gift certificate that I had (which wasn't valid on Friday/Saturday). The food was SO so good!!! But I feel like the experience wasn't so great. It is a bit confusing whether to sit down when you walk in, go to the counter to order or use a self-serve kiosk (which is hidden). Once at the counter the girl who took our order (who may have been new, so I'll give a bit of grace) seemed a bit flustered which made the ordering process feel uncomfortable. Turns out, their soda machine was out of order, they were out of the variety of kolache I wanted to order. Not major things, but just little tick marks that made it not so great. Food came out pretty quick and was great - I had a chicken burrito with a blueberry kolache for dessert. The girl at the counter didn't know how to ring up my $10 gift certificate so they gave me the check later, but then it was only rung up for $9.17 and when I asked she said oh it's taxes... I don't think so, but just let it go. Overall, I would go back because the food was delicious, but wish the overall experience had been a bit more pleasant. read more

Bonu was an impromptu stop for my mom and I one day. The hummus and pita was my favorite but we also had a delicious ceaser salad and flatbreat. We loved it so much that we ordered a hummus platter for my bridal shower the next weekend. Very welcoming and kind! read more

We came here because MONTHS ago my friend posted a picture of a sandwich from here that looked so delicious we've been meaning to stop in since. Today my fiancé and I were finally in the area while it was open and got the pleasure of eating the infamous sandwich. The Ahi tuna was incredibly fresh, and paired perfectly with mozzarella, sun dried tomato, caramelized onions and a delicious sauce. My husband and I stopped in here for lunch because we've been wanting to try it since it opened and this day we were at the library and deciding on a place for lunch and we had a coupon for here! We were very very pleased with the service (fast), food (delicious), the (?)owner was the only worker there this 1st time and he was very accomodating when I said that I must be Gluten Free. My husband had fish tacos & I had a delicious cheeseburger and French fries. Beautiful tomato and lettuce came with my burger and the lettuce was a beautiful big leaf that I could actually use as a bun for the burger - perfect!! the following Saturday we went back again for lunch - my husband said he HAD to have the burger (mine looked (and was) sooo good! We will DEFINITELY be regulars here. The second visit, there was a young server. Both times the staff was very pleasant. The establishment is small and very clean. We ate 'in' and while there, take-out business was bustling and service appeared to be moving along nicely. We highly recommend this place. read more

Everything I order here is off the charts! The owner / chef is hands on and always makes it out to personally ask how everything is. The portions sizes are good at breakfast with the exception of home fries and I always leave full. They serve decent coffee which is where so many spots skimp. I drive by here all the time but never bothered stopping by. One weekday evening my girlfriend and I were looking for some place healthy and local to eat. Having moved to the area recently, we looked on Yelp and found Bonu. They also have a location down the street in the Malvern area. I'm glad Yelp lead us here because this is now my new favorite local cafe spot! The place has a lot of different seating options from booths, to small tables, to couches, to counters. It has a nice cozy feel and is a great place to grab a coffee, grab a bite to eat or even to study. They had a lot of things on the menu I wanted to try and didn't know what to get. The owner recommended their bonu fish burrito wrap and I'm so glad he did. It was not only made fresh, it was healthy and very flavorful. We even ordered some kolaches (a turnover looking pastry that is savory, cheese or fruit filled) for dessert, that is also perfect for breakfast, brunch or a snack. I crave the fish wrap and the kolaches all the time when I drive by but they unfortunately close early 2p on Sundays, and earlier on mondays. Being relatively new to the area, I don't think many people know about them. They also do catering for events and their prices are pretty reasonable and affordable. I wanted to love this restaurant. It had great reviews, right? First things first, the owners and folks working there were very kind, and greeted me with a smile. Always a good thing! No complaint there. Honestly, I was less than impressed with the food, though. My partner's fries, while crispy, hot, and fresh, were literally just like the crinkle cut or-ida bake-at-home fries you can pick up at the grocery store. I guess with all the folks raving about the fries, I had assumed they made them in house. Second, my crispy chicken salad. So, it was mix of large chunks of lettuce (I might be picky, but honestly if I'm paying for a salad, can you please chop it up more into fork size pieces?); a tablespoon or so sized portion of corn and black beans thrown in; two or three sliced cucumbers, and two sliced tomatoes; and two dressing containers. Dressing was fabulous. My chicken was thinly sliced, dry, and hard, almost like chicken that had been sitting in the fridge and overheated in the microwave. I was totally bummed, because most of the Yelp reviewers said that the food was freshly made by order. Total bummer. However, given the places' pretty and inviting appearance, and the owners' customer service, I gave it 3 stars. read more

I have NEVER taken the time to write a Yelp review before, but I simply could not stay quiet about this place. My sons and I were running errands and we stopped there for a quick lunch, not expecting anything special. But -- no exaggeration -- their hummus and veggie wrap was the best wrap I've ever eaten. Perhaps the best meal I've ever eaten. My son ate the fish taco and said it was the best one he has ever eaten. I immediately had to march up to the kitchen and tell the owner... it was that good. Then the kolaches we ordered for dessert were unbelievable. The owner is friendly and proud of his amazing restaurant, and with very good cause. It is comfortable, homey, and the food is .... well, I just can't think of enough positive adjectives. It's all made to order, and just incredibly good. And healthy too. You must go. You must. My adult daughter and I had breakfast at this cozy little cafe after church last Sunday. This is our third visit and we still give it five stars! She had the ham and cheese French toast breakfast sandwich and I had a sausage omelet. The food was cooked to order, fresh, and delicious. I like the extensive menu and the casualness of ordering at the order counter. You take a seat and then your meal is delivered to you. There are three comfortable booths, a few tables with chairs and a counter with seating. There are a couple of nice upholstered chairs to sit in if you are waiting on a take-out order. The waitstaff and owner are exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. When my daughter asked if the chicken finger breading had egg in it (because her son has an egg allergy) the answer was yes, BUT the owner offered to make the chicken fingers egg free for us! We had coffee with our meal. When we were ready to leave the waitress invited us to take a to-go cup of coffee with us! It made me feel important to eat here. I love this place. read more
