I was super keen to try this newest and hottest eatery in Radelaide when I first got wind of its…read morearrival. This corner block fitout was bright and light with lots of white tiles used throughout. We sat in front of the kitchen where we could see straight in. The kitchen looked messy and cluttered. I think a curtain of some sort would be beneficial here. We were offered table water upon sitting down. Always a thumbs up in my opinion. We perused the extensive menu umming and aahing over all the tasty-sounding dishes. What appealed to me was the amount of home-made goodies they had on offer, from brisket to lox (cured salmon). Most of us settled on the salmon blini and one brisket salad. I ordered a side of toasted bread on the side as well. The presentation was beautiful. Every dish looked delectable and mouthwatering. Taste-wise: it was lovely., but "standard". I didn't taste any point of difference compared to another eatery had I ordered the same or similiar dish. The other ladies enjoyed theirs and so did the lady with the brisket. She said the beef was tender and flavoursome. I want to come back and try another dish, something with their homemade bagels I think.

I love the menus with the glossary to some of their products on the front, feeling educated now. Coffee was excellent. For food I tried the Leo - eggs with cured Salmon on a open bagel - very delicious except I wasn't a fan of the bagel itself: I won't let it affect my review though because I'm sure that it was an actual 'traditional' bagel as opposed to the white bread ones I'm used to. Will definitely swing past again next time I'm down Jeffcott :)

You can easily drive by looking for something bigger, better, more open but you would be missing out. There's a cafe a little up the road that's also great but targets a different type of customer - I believe these two can co-exist happily. I was in a rush so I bolted in, was welcomed by a friendly bearded young bloke at the counter (with a lady in the kitchen), asked for my standard medium FW and because I didn't want to fumble with the menu, asked what I could snack on other than what was in the display cabinet (which looked fresh and inviting). He offered a toasted egg and bacon sandwich with house relish (oh yes please) and one or two other things but I was already sold (rushing remember). I took a couple of photos & took in the surroundings before my coffee was brought to me. Well crafted, creamy, strong enough, perfect temp with some nutty after tones. It took less than 5 minutes and my sandwich was brought out to me and I left feeling happy. Another five minutes later after I had demolished the sandwich I was even happier. It was delicious with just the right amount of filling and the relish a great flavor They have coffee cards where every 6th is free and my spend was just under $10, also a fair price. Look, I'll be going back and unless I'm mistaken I won't be changing my review. They do have some competition from further up Churchill Rd, from Prospect Rd, and from Jeffcott St, but this is a little gold star cafe in suburbia that aims to please and produces what it produces well enough to please its customers.

Adelaide is starting to develop some cool suburban areas with collections of small funky…read morebusinesses. My thought is that Croydon has definitely lead this area. Queen Street Café is a great demonstration of a fun creative team. The café itself is very decently sized. Lots of space inside and out. A big long communal table as well if you want to dine alone. During the weekends it does get quite busy, so be sure to get there early. The staff here are friendly and attentive. They are on the look out for when you are ready to order. I think looking back at previous reviews, they are getting better when it comes to service. I ordered the gnocchi with roasted seasonal veg. Lovely pan fried brussel sprouts, roasted pumpkin, spinach, and mushrooms. Best of all, the gnocchi was soooo sooo soft and buttery. Wow, it's been a long time since I have had gnocchi like this. Well done chef! So much flavour in this dish as well. What better to go with a veggie gnocchi than a carrot, orange, and ginger juice. It so so tasty and fresh. I look forward to my next visit Queen Street Cafe!

I don't personally want to have kids charging around in a cafe on the one hand, and in between tables and chairs on the side of a reasonably busy road on the other hand. I don't care how trendy it is and I certainly don't care how many young up and coming professionals are discussing the better stocks to buy since the global financial crisis at brunch; if they have children they should be watching them, especially if they insist on sitting outside next to a reasonably busy street. There is a level train crossing at one end of the block here and that means there are regular periods when several cars will be banked up and suddenly driving through. Half a dozen times I saw kids nearly get toppled by traffic while I was sitting here. I was most alarmed. There's such a great children's playground down the road, all fenced in and beautiful - up here in cafe la la land the adult were so engrossed in the food and conversation they just ignored a few kids who were evidently still in play mode. I have decided the place gets enough custom without me talking about the lovely furniture or the strictly word of mouth policy that the owners have - no business card, no brochure, no website... just word of mouth; well, the word of mouth at my mid morning soiree was "Watch out!" Seriously, I'd rather eat somewhere else and leave all the swank alone.

Dear Daisy, I'm…read morewriting this review to you today to let you know that I very much appreciated your hospitality today over lunch. You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!
