Outdoor seating available at Cafe Troppo

Although this place doesn't quite have the heat or the customers that would "go troppo maaaate," it certainly is a quirky little cafe come bar come pixie forest that is a perfect place to sit and relax, meet, work or devour breakfasts in. Cafe Troppo is one of the first cafe's I have been in Adelaide that is quirky, not because it looks like it has come out of the 60's. Here the experience is as much about the feeling of being immersed in a magical underground (but not), cosy woodland forest as it is the food and drink. The designers of this place have used natural wooden chairs, crates, sticks and anything environmentally friendly to create a beautiful dining ambience and this is what made this place 4 stars for me. The breakfasts are something of a feast to take you through to dinner and their sweets lined up on the bar in front of you as you order are just mean - because you can't resist! The coffee was a bit standard (I don't think they use bonsoy) but I was too engrossed by surroundings to really care! I am looking forward to one of their tapas nights here and their summer dinner menu that is apparently coming soon (in Summer funnily enough). This place would be truly Midsummer Night's Dream kind of heavenly as the sun sets over the city on a warm summers night.

Amazing lunch - fresh oj with a halomi and pumpkin burger!

Absolutely love the quirky style and chilled atmosphere. The music creates a cosy and relaxed vibe (and I won't forget to add - recently live music began to play Friday and Saturday nights). The food was delicious, fresh and bought locally to support local businesses. The staff are friendly, helpful and are obviously socially conscious. I don't have any complaints over then it could be a little bigger to fit more customers. Other then that, amazing cafe!

Stopped in for a Saturday brunch and this place was awesome. As soon as you enter, you know it's going to be good. The staff were extremely were friendly, and the decor looks great. It feels warm and friendly, and smells delicious. We ended up getting a breaky pizza and mushroom focaccia. Although I can't give you a first hand description of the focaccia as my lady friend destroyed it, the breaky pizza was the bomb jiggy funk. Bacon, rocket, red sauce, perfect base and topped with a poached egg. I am pretty sure I licked the plate clean! Also, the coffee was sooo good, not to be overlooked! Two thumbs up!

Visited here today for the most beautiful lunch in the sun. Staff were friendly and the service was quick, despite it being busy. I had the pumpkin and haloumi burger and an iced mocha and they were both delicious. The burger was particularly fresh! The food and the cafe itself is presented well. Worth the short stroll down to Whitmore square!

Salad to go, the specials board didn't let me down!

Finally got the chance to come back and give this place another go, wasn't disappointed! I ordered the special of the day which was a delicious parsnip and barley salad with a smattering of spinach; large portion and great flavors! My partner in crime got to try the roo sandwich which was delicious and worth the wait. Small nuances like forgetting our order and the bathrooms both being mysteriously unused but locked were a bit of a pain but the food made up for it. Coffees were great and loved the stevia drops, that's a first! The outside area is gorgeous and had outdoor heaters which will be a godsend in winter. The staff are so lovely, definetly a nice spot in town to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Decided to try this place out with a colleague visiting from interstate. We were both pleasantly surprised and liked the feeling of the cafe. The food looked good but we only had coffee. The coffee was good and a decent size. The atmosphere is eclectic and funky and is convenient as in quieter part of city with easy parking around. There is indoor and outdoor seating with low and high tables.

Outdoor Area Looking Over Whitmore Square

This funky place was packed for Brekky early Saturday morning. (Short wait for a table) The service (order at the counter) was friendly and prompt. The coffee was great and the perfectly poached eggs with grilled mushies was delish. It was a FREEZING cold morning but the Troppo staff had lovingly lit up a number of gas heaters in the outdoor area out front which managed to take the chill off. Whitmore square is an interesting place filled with some interesting (but harmless) characters so it's probably not the best place to take any snooty friends or family. Love the organic decor feel. Plenty of ticketed street parking too.

I had to use my whipper snipper to clear the rocket to get to my food. It wasn't very busy but the order took ages. When it came my partner's was the wrong order. More waiting. Coffee came in grubby cup which I cleaned off myself. Staff are way way too inattentive and laid-back. I mean come on get your finger out guys. And how about focusing on customers not the "talent"! Menu is overpriced I mean add $2.50 for an additional poached egg! I could almost buy a whole hen for that (‍ joke)! All in all a mediocre/poor experience. We will avoid it next time.

Having eaten up a storm the night before I was not certain how I would fare but knowing I might not eat till late that day I decided to order the bacon sandwich; the name does not do it justice! Super fresh lettuce and tomato, with generous serving of avocado, a rather nice aioli and tasty bacon; I could not leave any of this fish it was far too nice.

Dear Daisy, I'm…read morewriting this review to you today to let you know that I very much appreciated your hospitality today over lunch. You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Imagine the excitement coursing through my veins when a brand spanking new cafe (with all the…read morehipster/trendy trimmings) opens up 5 doors down from my house, and dearest Daisy, you passed my expectations for a local with flying colours. Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!
