I called to get a quote last summer, to be able to plan accordingly for our new patio. He was helpful then and his prices were fair. My Husband and I called him early (February) to be able to schedule our patio be installed early in the season. Our family was planning on traveling for business for an extensive amount of time and he promised us it would be finished during the time we would be home. Our plans fell through and we had a little more wiggle room, which was good because with all the rainfall we had this year, he had to put the job off a little bit, to catch up on back logged jobs (that had to be put off due to rain-outs). He was easy to reach and always returned my phone calls. I was a little leery at first, because of a negative review I saw on here. I asked him about it and he told me honestly what had happened. If you look at her review, you can see she does say she was happy with his workmanship. So I trusted, it was a miscommunication, and you just can't please everyone all the time. Let me just say, I am not very easy to please, I have high expectations and I had very high hopes for this project. Nathan and his crew delivered. From the beginning when he met with me to go over color and pattern choices. And he always responded when I bothered him with quick silly questions. His crew was very professional and nice, they cleaned their mess completely and the process went great, even though we had rain during the job (go figure, lol). The finished product is AMAZING!!! I get so many compliments and have even invited neighbors over to try and get them to do it too. :-) We love our new patio and I would highly recommend Stamped Concrete Inc. If you are truly unsure of his work and how he treats his clients, let me assure you, we are not located in an 'expensive' neighborhood and he treated us very well. I also encourage you to ask him about any misgivings you may have. The best way to choose someone to do a big job for you is to be honest. I think he is fair and professional and I am happy I trusted him with our patio job. Thank you Nate for giving us a beautiful patio and expanding our living space!! :-)

He was rarely on site to…read moremanage a sloppy crew who left concrete chunks in our landscaping, concrete wash in the street gutter, splatter on our bushes and metal pieces in our lawn that we picked up for a week. The crew also cut our landscaping lighting line which my husband fixed afterwards. We sucked it up and let that go, the driveway and steps seemed ok, although the driveway edging on one side is jagged instead of a smooth edge and when I pointed it out, he blamed that on us saying we said it was okay to follow the landscape rock edge, so now if we ever replaced the landscaping rock wall, we have a jagged edged driveway that looks like crap. I've never seen a driveway look like that and would have never have thought that was a good look or approved that. The stairs, now later have a long wide crack along the entire step. His crew also cut a saw line straight up the center of the two solid steps- never have seen that on anyone's steps. He said it was to prevent cracking and obviously that did not prevent it cracking. The base corner of one step is also disintegrated. The driveway has pitting and the surface is crumbling in areas. I emailed Nate twice to ask about his process to address the issues, he never responded, so I called and he told me I should have told him earlier and that he can't fix everyone's cracks in his jobs and definitely not for free. He argued with me, so I basically said so you're telling me there's nothing you can or will do and I was so angry I hung up, what a waste of a call. It would have been courteous of him to be understanding of our disappointment of such an expense. I told him I would be making sure our neighbors knew I would not recommend his company. It was only after that call ended that he texted and offered to come look at it and IF it was something simple, he would fix it. I sent him the address and haven't heard from him since. His friends in the area were quick to jump to his defense on line and bully me on line for posting my opinion to not recommend his company. Nate is charming to get the job and your check and afterwards is rude, difficult to deal with, unresponsive and always argues that he is right, never apologizes in any way for any problems that you encounter. Find someone else for these expensive projects. I have dealt with many other contractors for our home who care about you after their work which has been quality, is complete and always are happy to check in to ensure you are satisfied down the road. A little humility and genuine care goes a long way, and this is not that guy.

They completed the project in record time, even fitting me in ahead of schedule, which was a huge relief considering spring rains were on their way. The crew was fantastic--professional, friendly, and respectful of my property. They communicated with me every step of the way, answering all my questions quickly and thoroughly, sending me photos of the work to assuage any concerns. It was clear that they take great pride in their work, and they left my yard in perfect condition, cleaning up meticulously after the job was done. One wrench in the project was that I had an invisible fence line that ran through multiple areas of excavation, and I knew there was no chance that line wasn't going to be cut. What really blew me away, was that Cristian went out and repaired the damage and the line works perfectly again; talk about above and beyond! A week later, the drainage system works perfectly, and my yard is shockingly dry considering the recent heavy rain. I highly recommend Hills Excavation for any complicated and muddy yard-related needs--they exceeded my expectations in every way and I'm glad I no longer feel like Shrek telling people to, "get out of my swamp!"

During the quote, I showed the salesperson, Lawrence, two sinking areas in my front sidewalk. He said they would raise those areas at no additional charge. When the crew arrived, I explained that sprinkler lines ran along both sides of the sidewalk and asked whether there was any risk of damaging them. They assured me there was not. They then proceeded to cut sprinkler lines at both locations. I left a voicemail at their main office asking how this issue would be resolved. Lawrence returned my call and said Detroit Concrete Leveling was not responsible for the damage based on terms noted on the back of the quote. The work provided at "no additional charge" ended up costing me $499 for sprinkler system repairs. I strongly recommend you do NOT hire Detroit Concrete Leveling. They do not take responsibility for damaging customers' property. If ownership disclaims responsibility, customers should not expect the work crews to show adequate care for their property. If you still choose to hire Detroit Concrete Leveling, I recommend budgeting extra money beyond the quoted price. You may need it to repair damage cause by their careless or indifferent work. REPLY TO THE OWNER'S COMMENTS OF 7/17/26 Michael - I left a voicemail at your main office on the morning of July 9 regarding the sprinkler damage. Later that afternoon, I received a return call from Lawrence, the salesperson. He stated that Detroit Concrete Leveling does not accept responsibility for property damage and characterized my situation as "unfortunate." He offered either to attempt the repairs himself or that I hire a sprinkler company do so. When I asked whether he had any sprinkler repair experience, he confirmed that he did not. Given the extent of the damage caused by your company and the need for qualified sprinkler repair professionals, I declined Lawrence's offer. Your statements that you requested the opportunity to come to my property to inspect the situation personally and that the "request was declined" are false. I declined only Lawrence's offer to attempt the sprinkler repairs. You did not contact me directly, and neither Lawrence nor any other company employee conveyed any request from you to inspect the damage. I could not have declined an offer that was never communicated to me, and your characterization of these events does not accurately reflect what occurred.
