We stopped by here for lunch and weren't disappointed. We were hauling our 27 foot travel trailer and although it wasn't super easy, it was easy enough to park and maneuver through the parking lot both in and out. Lunch was fantastic. All three of us ordered cold sandwiches on French rolls, a potato salad and a macaroni salad were our side dishes. Two of us ordered the Italian Cold sandwich and one of us ordered a build your own smoked turkey. All three sandwiches had a bunch of meat, were loaded with veggies, and were even large enough that two of us enjoyed the second halves of our sandwiches the following day. Service was very good and the restrooms were nice and clean. Ordering was rather clever, and I was impressed by the simplicity of it. Very nice job Bonneau person who came up with the idea. read more

So good! I ordered a custom sandwich and was so happy with the quality of all of the ingredients. The service was great. It was my first time there and I would definitely recommend checking them out for a delicious lunch. read more

A solid sandwich spot, but pretty pricey for the size of the sandwich. The protein is slight, and it was about $18 for a pretty small turkey sandwich and soda. The reason for 4 stars really is the fresh produce, which was super fresh and made the sandwich. Some shaded area to eat, it's next to a gas station, and a ton of snacks/drinks for your wine country picnic or road trip. Overall, solid, but nothing to go out of the way for. read more

Horrible experience! Can't recommend or will ever support this Co. I have a friend who was in an accident and went to the station for help and a male (not a man) smoking a cigarette said to my friend "we don't help people with their cars". She didn't even ask for help. He walked away. It was 11:40 pm when this happened. What a looser and if this is how they treat customers I'm not supporting. She called and the manager said he'd call her back and that never happened. Plenty of other places to go. Typical lazy crummy Sonoma behavior read more

Wowee! Snacks on snacks on snacks! I'll go back just for the vast variety of awesome snacks, including local and specialty items. This family-owned Gourmet Deli + Gas Station = perfect stop on way to/from Sonoma! Craving snacks and/or drinks? Wear a mask and go inside to get them? Craving a sandwich? First fill out order form outside. Then wear a mask to go inside and bring form to the deli section. Pay at register (near the entrance) and wait for your name to be called. I ordered a custom veggie sandwich on pretzel bread. The sandwich was ok, a little underwhelming in flavor, so next time I'll order off of the existing menu. Either way, I'll definitely return for the snacks! They sell wine too, of course! This is a great spot to pick up picnic items to coordinate with wine tastings! Bathrooms are available outside around the back of the deli, or at the gas station. read more

We saw this place on Tik Tok, so like a good millennial, we came on our way out of Napa for a quick lunch. Super quick, really affordable, and kind people. Fill out what you want on the sandwich ticket, and deliver your paper to the sandwich ladies for them to make! Pick up a drink and some sides, and pay. Head back to the sandwich stand after you pay and likely your sandwich is done. I made my own cold cut sandwich on a gluten free bread. Really yummy and hearty. They have so many chip options here and lots of drink options, alcoholic or non are both available. read more

Solid sandwiches and a convenient 8 minute drive from Sonoma Raceway. Worth the trip, not that the food on track is bad but this is better. I liked my chipotle chicken sandwich though I expected a little more kick. read more

The woman at the front was very nice and the guys and woman in the sandwich area were nice enough. The sandwich though was very disappointing for the $12.99 price tag. It was as light as a feather and while I only asked for lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar salt and pepper, the sandwich also had an herb-ish flavor which I hate. I'll never go back. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one because of how nice and friendly the woman working the register was and the solid drink and candy selection. read more

Carneros Deli - Turkey and provolone sandwich on sliced sourdough. Literally almost nothing to it. - Delis Near Me - Sonoma, California

This deli is right on a busy street corner in Sonoma and is easy to spot as you are driving by. It's one of the few businesses around that is not a winery! They do serve wine inside though, as almost every place in Sonoma does. I came here on a Saturday to get some sandwiches togo. The order station is outside where you use a pen and paper menu to circle what you'd like to order. We went with two hot sandwiches: the Classic Rueben and the French dip. You then bring your order inside and drop it off in a somewhat disorganized manner. You go past the register, down a corridor, turn past another register, then you reach the deli counter where you drop off your paper. With this setup, they must get asked by countless people where they are supposed to go. There's also not really a convenient place to wait for your order unless you go back outside. The inside is a little market and I felt like I was standing in the way of everyone else trying to shop for items in this narrow aisle. The in-store process could be improved for sure. However, the sandwiches themselves were fantastic! Good portion sizes, but a little pricey for sandwiches that don't come with a side. The au jus that came with my French dip really completed the whole sandwich. No seating inside, but they do have some outdoor tables. Overall a pretty good experience thanks to the food making up for the ordering/waiting process! read more

We pass this deli every time we go out to the coast. This trip we decided to grab lunch. Was a treat. First, they have a very efficient system for their deli. You fill out a tag outside, bring it to the counter. While they prep your sandwich (or chili), you can browse their vast chip, beverage and sweet options... you can even pay. The full sandwiches are huge - so opt for a half If you're not super hungry. All sandwiches were delish... so good the first stop on our way in that we made a point to stop again on the way home! read more

I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich on a Dutch crunch roll. It was delicious and I had to save half as the sandwich was very filling. Service by the people making the sandwich was quick and a total of 8 of us came in to get sandwiches for lunch. read more

The best breakfast sandwich ever! Stopped here on a whim filling gas and it was the best decision ever. They have a tone of vegetable options and the person who prepared our sandwich took real care and time to prep it. Everytbing from the sauce to the vegetable was in perfect proportion and my fiance who didnt want to eat also ate half of sandwich! The sandwiches are expensive with toppings but they are HUGE. Tonne of alcohol and non alcohol options to drink for the road. I would recommend it again and again! read more

A great spot to grab a quick bit of food and coffee if you're trekking through wine country. They have some good local coffee on offer. As for food, they have both hot and cold options. I had the breakfast burrito, which was the perfect size and had a good spicy flavour. read more

I will always come back here. Not only do they have super good sandwiches but when I called and had to put a hold on an eleven sandwich order because of a gas spill that closed the road from getting there they were very accommodating. Great place to stop and grab food on the go. They have pre-made sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Looks like a nicely stocked deli with cowgirl creamery cheeses and deli meats for a picnic. Waited over 20 minutes standing at the counter ready to order without any staff in sight. We were the only patrons at the place as well. There was one staff member working the front desk who shuffled us to the back, annoyed that we had asked where to order. Delicious sandwiches and good snacks! I frequently stop here on my way between Petaluma and Sonoma/Napa to fill up gas and grab lunch

My hubby and I are North Bay natives and we like to spontaneously go wine tasting. So halfway to the wineries I realize that I am starving and I'd better eat something before we start tasting! We spot this little deli next door to a gas station. And we really were expecting to just grab some pretzels or something. But, instead I ended up with a delicious meatloaf sandwich (might be the best I've had). All the sandwiches are made to order with fresh ingredients. They have all kinds of snacks and drinks and even a wine bar with patio seating. And they aren't insanely over priced like most things are in wine country. We were so surprised. And I am still thinking about that sandwich .... drool read more

Carneros Deli gets a solid four stars because it is a great stop on your way to and from wine country. I have to start by saying they have great breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos. But be warned, the breakfast sandwiches can get a little messy if your planning on eating in the car (or while driving like me, don't judge). They have specials, but sometimes I build my own. I like it because it's all made right there after you order it, eggs get cracked and scrambled, not much is premade besides the cheese and deli meats of course. They also have good local coffee from Santa Rosa. Into lunch/dinner, they have great sandwich specials but you can also build your own! Although they have some amazing specials, I for one love the Dora Pepper Pesto, it's honestly pure joy, I recommend it with the soft roll. I don't add anything, but you could if you don't trust me. If you want to sit and enjoy your lunch they have a spot in the back, but it's a grab and go type place. They have tons of drink options ranging from soft drinks to alcoholic drinks. They also have a wine tasting in the back, because when in Sonoma! Only tip, they can get busy at peak hours for breakfast and lunch, even with two girls behind the counter, you're going to be waiting. This place is very local, so your getting all the wine workers coming in. So if your looking for fast food, keep driving. read more

Wonderful customer service- didn't feel rushed, and the Sando was great! and when I forgot my card there they ran out after and got it to me before I left the parking lot. 1. I had a turkey/Salami -butter-cheddar/provolone , Pepperoncini- lettuce- pickle 2. Friend had: ham - Swiss- butter- pickle Both sandwiches were very good I just has a little bread left over after devouring the Sando. Cheetos on the side and a Yerba mate beverage to wash it down. I'm full but not so full that I can't move; 'twas the perfect amount of food. I'll be back again. You can get a free sandwich if you download the app on your phone. That's pretty awesome! There is no indoor seating so when you order its to go... A place I can recommend to all my fellow yelpers for lunch on the go. I'm not "Hangry" any more. Thank you. read more

Such a great destination for a quick pitstop during wine tasting adventures in Sonoma County! The selection of drinks, snacks and cheese & cured meats was well above average and we loved the hot chipotle chicken sandwich on sourdough for a light lunch. In our case, the cured meats served as clutch hiking snacks and we would definitely come back again for supplies on our next day of adventures in the area. read more

Great deli to stop in on the way up to Sonoma or if you're crossing to Napa (it's on the corner of 121 and 12). They have a wide range of sandwiches, snacks, wine and beer, as well as pre packed salads and sandwiches. Yummy and we found them super friendly! We stopped at Angelo's a few doors down first, but it is pretty limited if you're looking for picnic/snacks for wineries. And all meat--the jerky is good but if you're looking for something lighter or vegetarian there are no options there. No cheese/crackers either read more

Carneros Deli - Delis Near Me - Sonoma, California

I'm a local who frequents this deli, as I live very close by. As a business owner myself, I notice things about how places are run. In comparison, Vineberg deli and Broadway deli are run like a well oiled machine, with long time staff, good food, and speedy service during rush. Carneros Deli on the other hand, while the food is good, is managed terribly and the service is painfully slow/sloppy. The turnover rate is huge, and the vibe is that it run by an out of touch dictator. This is why buisness is at a lull for them. Its unfortunate because they have a prime location... they may not care because they will always do decent buisness with the tourists. The constantly changing cashiers are slow, often goofy people who hold up the line. They always seem to be changing sandwich makers who are also often slow and painful to watch...often distracted and more busy chatting than making sandwiches. You can always tell when the boss is there because the demeanor in the store changes and you can tell that they rule with an iron fist instead of proper leadership. With the square footage of that place so small and crowded it is important to really crank out the customers and have your service be fast. When you go somewhere else in Sonoma like Vineburg Deli or Broadway Market, you see the same faces consistently for years, and they really know how to Kick-Ass and turn out a fast/quality product during rush.... the owner of Carneros Deli should take some notes, and change their management/service because the constant turnover rate, slow service, and waining customers are indicative of poor management. Its sad to see for such a great location. I get the sense that the owners have a lot of businesses and income and probably don't care. Step up your game please. It's getting worse and worse. read more

Got a referral to this place as having good sandwiches. Stopped by today on my way into SF to pick up some lunch so I wouldn't have to waste time in the city. Ordered a simple sandwich, turkey with lettuce tomato mustard mayo and bacon. Paid a whopping $10.38. More than I'm used to paying for a sandwich with these ingredients. Three hours later when I get to eat my sandwich I opened it up and lo and behold, NO BACON!!! I was annoyed, pissed and frustrated because they charged me two dollars for the bacon. I'll be going back to get my money back, and doubt that I'll ever stop there for another sandwich. read more

i don't usually eat meat, so i got a breakfast bagel with egg and cheese. There was a hair in it. The only reason i'm not giving a much lower score is because they are a deli, and i'm assuming most people eating here aren't lining up there to try their microwaved egg sandwich. i did try a bite of my fiancé's pastrami sandwich and it was very good, and the glass of wine we shared was lovely. I do hope the hair in my food was a fluke, though.... read more

They were really accommodating of a large order (15+ sandwiches). I called on the phone, they emailed me a menu, and we picked it up the next day. The only request would be to post their menu online since it's easier to figure out prices and what you want. You can make your own sandwiches or get one of the specialities. I got the bonneau club ($10) with turkey, ham, jack cheese, and bacon on toasted white bread with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The ingredients were all very fresh and tasty. The sandwich was HUGE and I was really full afterwards. Definitely worth the price. read more

They make a fine sandwich at Carneros Deli, and they make 'em quick. It's conveniently located at the crossroads of Highways 116 & 121 (there is probably some local nomenclature for this intersection but I don't know it). You can also get a cold drink of any type, add a bag of chips and you're on your way. P.S. There are some picnic tables outside but it's not particularly bucolic. read more

This is a perfectly fine sandwich stop if you're making you're way up to wine country. Situated at the 121 and 116 crossroad (next to the gas station), the Carneros Deli doesn't exactly look like much from the outside. But don't let the exterior deceive you - they've got a full-on deli (replete with a wide variety of sandwiches (hot and cold), salads/side dishes, and beverages for take-out). The deli even has a wine tasting area in the back. Got to love wine country! For my immediate purposes today, I just needed a quick fuel-boost as I traveled back from Sonoma to Marin. So I ordered 1/2 roast beef sandwich on wheat bread. Was it the best sandwich I ever had? No. But the bread and tomatoes were fresh, the meat was hearty, and they didn't over-do it with the mayo (one of my biggest deli pet peeves). And for just $4.99, this mid-afternoon snack certainly satisfied my hunger pangs. While waiting for my sandwich to be prepared, I saw that they were selling a 4-pack of deviled eggs for $3. I couldn't resist. And you know what? They were actually quite tasty. I washed it all down with a bottle of water. All in all, my impromptu lunch cost me less than $10. I would certainly come in again if I was planning a wine country excursion. Carneros Deli is definitely a serviceable spot for all your picnic needs. read more

You can buy Bonneau wine(and sample before you buy!), get wonderful sandwiches, pre-made salads, cheese and more! Or you can eat on their patio!
