Several years ago I picked up a fried chicken breast for my husband. I was very dried and ridiculously expensive. That was about 6-7 yrs ago. Haven't gone back since. Time forward to 2025. I was an inpatient at Bay path rehab and my roomies daughter was bringing turkey sandwiches from Bongis. There were awesome! Came with a side of gravy. Everything I love in a sandwich. I love Bongis. The place was hopping on Saturday afternoon but the line went quick. Great service as always. We both got the classic turkey cranberry stuffing Mayo sandwich. We chose wheat bread out of the options and I had mine on the panini press. It was delicious fresh and worth the $12. The bread was a little burnt but didn't taste it and I imagine would have been awesome on the sourdough. I had never tried their chicken salad so I got some to go. Wow. Got the fried chicken lunch box here recently. The fried chicken was really good. The potato fries were so so. Also got a slice of cheesecake which was really good. We just had the most AMAZING TURKEY POT PIE in the History of Pot Pies! It was like eating Thanksgiving in every bite. The Crust was delicious and the gravy to die for. The Turkey goes without saying....as it is a TURKEY ROOST! No kids around this week so it was a 3 night Dinner . The first night we had it just as it comes, with some Biscuits. Night 2, I made Mashed Potatoes to put under it which I thought would be it...but NO! There was another meal left. Night 3 was Mashed Potatoes, Corn and Cranberry Sauce. 6 VERY FULL meals out of this pot pie. We managed to polish it off and I feel as full as I do on Thanksgiving. If you want to impress someone, you could def pass this off as your own... It tastes homemade and I didn't slave basting the Turkey all day long. THE BEST EVER. I saw god yesterday at Bongi's Turkey Roost. He came to me in the form of a thanksgiving sandwich on whole wheat bread with all the fixins. After my car was repossessed by a man in a woody woodpecker t-shirt, (a harrowing event which I will not get into) I have been needing rides from my dear friend Betty. Man is she fast! But since Betty has been so busy in a restaurant of her own, I had to resort to other matters to get to Bongi's yesterday. It was a nothing short of a mystical journey. I traveled on foot, barefoot to be exact, all across the eastern seaboard to the quaint little villa they call Bongi's Turkey Roost. I did not know the exact location, so I simply followed the delectable odors that permeated the air with a sweet fragrance. Before I could say "garbanzo bean!" I was there. Covered in muck and grime from my long trek I ventured forth towards the door. Like a M-80 explosive I was hit with the pungent aura of goodness, of which I could only attribute to the lord himself. I got down on my knees and began to pray. "Dear heavenly father" I wept, "pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen!" I opened my eyes to see a slightly confused woman standing at the cash register. "Sir?" She said with concern. My eyes were full of tears. "I'll take the thanksgiving delight," I said with prideful determination. I wiped away my tears and sat down. I cannot describe the way this place smells. It is as if god's tears were mixed with fried poultry brazen with liquid gold. It is so powerful that every hair in my nostrils were singed. And then the food was brought to me. A golden chalice of chocolate milk and a sandwich revealed under a silver cloche was presented to me. "Mae Govannen!" the waitress said. As she walked away I saw her ears, as pointy as ever. A High Elf! But what was a Sindarin doing this far east of Rivendell? Anways, I revealed the sandwich from underneath it's protective armor and wind blew back my hair. My face was shone in a golden light, so strong it nearly burned my corneas. There was the sweet sound of music rushing from the light, like the hymns of soft angels, rocking me into a trance. What I am about to recount is a true story. The high elf returned to my table. My fat gut was poured out onto the table cloth. I was in a drunken stupor from the deliciousness of the food. "Be sure to drink your chocolate milk," the high elf said. I gulped it down in five milliseconds. I belched like never before. "Okay, your total comes out to be 9.95 plus tax," the high elf said. I ruffled through my wallet (which as anyone knows is full of nickels only) and I gave her 200 nickels to send her on her way. She counted slowly. "No tip?" She said, almost insulted. "What am I, made of nickels?" I retorted. "I think I deserve a tip," she clapped back. "Okay here's your tip," I said finally. "Always look both ways before you cross a busy street!" She looked at me infuriated. "We had someone like you here once. I think his name was Blake or Trake or something like that. He refused to tip!" The chocolate milk began to hit me like a freight train. I was seeing stars, the room was spinning. The waitress transformed into a hairy deity with teeth for fingers. "GIVE ME MY TIPS" she roared. I was so scared that I actually kwendad in my pants. I began to pray. "Jesus help me!" I said at once. In an instant, Jesus Christ himself bust through the door, riding upon a white steed. "Avada Kedavra" he said and the whole place blew up. I was lying in a field of ashes and rubble. The place had been destroyed. Jesus then used his Jesus powers (as Jesus does) to Jesus the place back up to Jesus normal. Bongi's was restored, the beast was vanquished and I rode upon the white steed with Jesus into the horizon. "Know of any good food places around here?" Jesus said. "How about Birdies?" I said. My husband had an open faced Turkey sandwich and I had a turkey BLT. We both agree it was the most delicious turkey we've ever had. Don't go there if you have to rush as it isn't fast food- but worth the wait! My husband wished that there were mash potatoes on his sandwich. Bongi's is not an eat-in restaurant, it is take-out only. They have hot food, sandwiches, frozen dinners, pies, etc. You get the picture. Just think Thanksgiving all year round: turkey, stuffing, squash, cornbread, cranberries, soups, even fried chicken. You can buy a whole cooked Turkey or a half. If you are alone you can get a turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberries. Or if you are feeding a family you can get individual turkey dinners or go a la carte like you would for Chinese take-out. If I sound like an ad it is only because I moved into the neighborhood 2-3 years ago and am within walking distance of Bongi's. It is a a unique operation that you should experience for yourself. You can place special orders in advance or just show up and sample their dishes. Nothing fancy, just basic home cooking adapted for take-out. read more

We are local and have picked up lunch several times. They are very expensive for what you get, they cut the chicken breasts in half and call each half a piece. This weeks visit will probably be my last. Hannah waited on us was very impatient and rude. When i change my order a bit she got visibly angry. Been going to Bongis for 50 years. Great turkey pies. Went the other day and got 2 large frozen turkey pies. Over $60. My guess 1.5-2lbs. turkey with gravy per pie. Seems like they go up not $1 but $2 seems like twice a year. Not to mention fried chicken .over $2 per piece. I'm not paying $2+ for a chicken wing. Ad good as everything is they priced me out. I ordered the sliced turkey which includes cranberries and stuffing, they serve it on wonder bread. You pay about $8 for a sandwich, they could upgrade their bread. If you remember wonder bread from your childhood, you'll remember the contents leak through the bread. Not the best choice for a stuffed turkey sandwich. This is the best place I stumbled Upjohn newly as a resident in Duxbury. They have everything you can imagine! I have had almost my entire family try this place out and they have drove over 30 minutes just for their delicious food!
