Overall, a good place to try out if you're looking for something outside of downtown campus. Get the brisket!

If you like midwest/kansas city BBQ, it is a thick sauced bbq. it is very good. the ribs are great, the country ribs are great (but slightly less great), the pulled pork is pretty good, the chicken is pretty good (but less great), the sides are all good to great (but the macroni salad used to be crazy good, now it's just good). they move around. check the facebook site for hours. they cater, a lot and well. They sometime appear at Meyer's Dairy in state college, and currently are by the Bellefonte highschool. I hope to be back again and again. This is a gem and deserves to be found. My burger tasted more like stewed meat than seared beef, almost as if it had been sitting for a while. It was overcooked and under-seasoned. Our server was pleasant enough, but several sides, condiments, and modifiers were forgotten. Waters were never refilled, the table was not cleared, and a salad that had been misordered was not removed from the bill. I understand it was a busy night, but at around $40 per person for food at a burger place, I expected more consistency. I'll give The Field another try the next time I'm in town because our first experience was so good, but this visit was a letdown.
