I couldn't me more disappointed with my recent visit to Bonefish in West Chester. The only thing positive was the server. I have championed this chain on their muscles as enough to bring us back. That and my wife loves their sea bass. And it was her birthday so what she wants, she gets. Well, Friday night was the worst visit I've had and will likely not go back. They were out of the macaroni. The muscles were overcooked and served at almost room temperature. But, worst of all was our fish. The mahi mahi was bite sized. Like most of it was left in the kitchen. Wanted to go there for dinner last night and were treated very rudely by Rick and Cat. We got there and were waiting for a seat at the bar. Another couple came in after us. A high top opened up and they hurried to grab it. A few minutes later a couple left at the bar so my husband and I sat down. The couple at the high top told Rick they were there before us and wanted to sit at the bar but said it was fine we were there. They were there first before us. So Cat and Rick proceed to talk about it then Cat told us what the other couple said but we could stay there. How rude. Don't say something to people if you don't have all the facts. And if the other couple wanted to sit at the bar so bad why grab the table????? Treated very rudely. We left. We'll only go back and eat if Melissa is working the bar. So I kind of feel bad for giving 2 stars but not really......Let me explain. Last night I arrive to the area and was looking for some grub. Well I passed by Bonefish and B-lined it to order my and my husbands favorite app: BANG BANG Shrimp. Since I was just arriving to town and had been traveling all day, I decided to order take out and eat in my hotel room. I ordered Bang Bang Shrimp with Haricots Vert and Garlic whipped potatoes. So after checking into my hotel (that was on the same exit as Bonefish) I ran to my room dropped my bags, washed my hands and opened up my dinner. At first glance everything looked decent. My Shrimp wasn't coated in the sauce, it was on the side. No problems there, but when I dipped my shrimp in the sauce and started to chew.....Houston We Have A Problem! The shrimp was fried to a crisp! It was chewy and about half were inedible. The French Green beans(Haricot Vert) were ehh, and the potatoes were decent. Actually the potatoes were the best part of my meal. I was so disappointed. I expected this to be so good, especially since I hadn't eaten in several hours and I was starving. Normally when your are starving you could eat Styrofoam with ketchup and think it's decent. The two stars really go to the service at the restaurant. Everyone was very helpful and very attentive. The hostess was super nice even though she didn't pack plastic ware in my bag. No worries there though, because I didn't ask for any. So of course the crowd is mostly Midwest. Easy to talk. Feels more like a high end chain. Wine and drink prices typical. Selection more limited but you can get something good as there is a range. I love seafood and was a bit disappointed by this restaurant. I came for lunch with a group of friends. There were maybe 4 or five other tables besides us and the service was terrible. Food didn't come out at the same time, drinks that were ordered either came on time, way after the meal, or not at all. And I had to go ask the hostess just to pay my bill. So my first stop was in the bar where I was ignored. But the hostess stand took great care to get me served quickly on Mother's Day eve. The manager sat me, which I did not know till she offered me a starter or desert for the bar issue. Server was pleasant and a bit new I would think buy her ability but kind and helpful none the less. No bus help but rather servers, food runners and once again the hostess's. Honestly the food is of the 3 start food rating quality but the service seems a bit more like Friday's and Texas Road House. No slam on the latter two. I have been here some time in the past and always remember the services being up there from the bar to the dining room. Truly a 3 star experience on Yelp not Dining type rating. That would have been a 2 star. I would come back but not for the price. My daughter and 9 month old granddaughter were hanging out in Cincinnati before driving back to Dayton. She suggested we go to this Bonefish Grill for a late afternoon meal. I was thrilled to be able to meet up with her on this hot Sunday afternoon. This location doesn't have an outdoor patio. The restaurant was not busy. Three employees were standing by the dining area as we entered and warmly greeted us. We were asked if we wanted a booth or a table and immediately seated. A high chair was offered and we had the opportunity to get a refreshing glass of water. We ordered several appetizers and sides and continued to look at the menu. Our server was friendly and made sure that the plates of food weren't within the range of my granddaughter who wants to grab onto everything within her reach lately. As for the food it was was all served hot and tasted great. The french fries are not listed on the menu. They are golden brown and lightly crispy on the outside. My granddaughter really liked them. We also like the Bang Bang shrimp that has a slightly spicy breading that tastes great. The mac and cheese noodles are long and curvy and have a nice creamy midwestern cheese sauce topped with bacon. Potstickers in a soy based sauce continue to be one of our favorite things to order. And this time we also wanted to order the brussel sprouts. They were cooked just right, not too crispy, and with a slightly tangy flavor. The only small problem was the restaurant got a little busy and we did not see our server for a while. We've been going to this Bonefish location since they opened - and several other across the US. I'm not sure what's happened, but our last three experiences have been terribly disappointing - poor service. Tonight we sat for 12 minutes and not one person - including the proprietor - stopped to even offer a water. It was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was half full. We decided to leave. Found a long hair in the food, clearly wasn't mine and not the color of my wife, plus she never touched my dish. When I pointed this out to the manager he refused returning the food for another dish. We didn't want the dish free or discounted simply another dish is all asked for. Very disappointed in mothers day promotion. My daughter placed order on Wednesday for Sunday 5:30pm pickup. She has been waiting for order since 5:30. Its 6:30! The place is chaotic. They are taking phone orders for delivery thru doordash ahead of orders placed days ago. We will never go to bonefish again. I was contacted by Bonefish Grill to make amends and apologize for the Mothers Day fiasco. They were very concerned my daughter waited 2 hours for an order she had placed 3 days prior and wanted to make it right. They reached out to my daughter to credit her and sent me gift cards to encourage us to come back. I appreciate the fact they recognized there was a problem and rectified it. On an up note - the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Even my husband who was quite upset at putting our daughter through this experience on her Mothers Day, was quite impressed after he settled down. I stopped in on the way home from work. Had a taste for fish and chips. I go to the hostess station to place a to go order. The hostess told me to go to bar. I go to the bar and wait. The bartender suggested I place the order with the hostess to avoid sales tax. I ordered a glass of wine with the bartender and go back to the hostess stand to place order. I was told to go to another person to place order. At this point I've been told three times to go to a different place to place a to go order! I go back to the bar and place my order. This was the most awful experience I have had in a long time. It took them 15 minutes to greet our table. The table we sat at was slanted so we had to be careful where we placed our drinks so they did not fall over and the chair I sat it felt like it was about to fall apart so I had to switch it out with another one. Our drinks took forever to get to the table. My coffee was lukewarm and old. I was never offered a refill. Three tables that came in after us received their entrees before us. We waited over an hour for our entrees after our appetizers were served and the food came out incorrectly. They put our food under the wrong table so every time it came out they kept trying to serve it to the table next to us who was also having an awful experience. I ordered a filet medium rare Oscar style and it came out medium with no Oscar style. It was also charred black on the outside. The asparagus was so hard and undercooked I could not eat it. The crab served as part of the Oscar style came out after the fact and it was gross like it came out of a cheap can of crab meat that was years old. The sauce for the Oscar style was thin, runny and distasteful. Our appetizer plates and empty drinks were never prebussed off the table. We waited over 20 minutes for a refill on a ginger-ale and a second martini. Our server forgot about our to go order until we reminded him. The Seabass was advertised on the menu as 7 oz and we were served a portion that was 5 oz at the most. The manager never stopped by our table to ask how our experience was. We were never offered dessert. There was never even an apology for any of these issues like all of this was acceptable when it clearly is not ok. We were treated like an inconvenience the entire time. There is obviously a problem with the management at this location. The server to the table next to us even answered her cellphone in the dining room and several female servers were working with their hair down, not pulled up and back as required by the health department. I will never return to this place again. What a disappointment and waste of money. Our server's name was Collin. He was horrible and not attentive in the slightest. He was no where in sight unless he was at our table. This experience was very disappointing and ruined our date night out (which we do not get very many considering we have an 18 month old daughter at home and very busy careers). If anyone is thinking about dining at this location I would recommend going elsewhere. You can get better food and service at IHOP or Applebee's. read more

I called on Wed to make a reservation for a large group to celebrate my son 15th birthday. Girl who answered phone stated "Wow" came back and wouldn't take reservation. She stated that we should come up on the day we are coming and told me the wait would take 1 - 1 1/2 hr to be seated. I expected a wait. Went up there at 6 on Sat as instructed by the girl. The manager stated if we come back at 8 or 8:30 he could sit us. I informed the manager what I was told to do by the girl. Also informed him that everyone is on their way or have arrived so now we are being told to come back 2 to 2 1/2 hrs later. In addition he couldn't guarantee to seat us at 8:30. Manager went on to state the party size would take up 7 tables and he couldn't do anything to accommodate the group size. The manager also told me that he tells his employees not to take any reservations for large groups during this time. Note, the restaurant was not busy as we were the only ones waiting for a seat. People were walking in and being seated. So once I asked to speak with manager the girl started putting people on 45 min wait. Even though there were empty tables. I guess losing over $500+tip to another restraurant is no big deal for this restaurant. read more

So we have been to several of their locations, but I had no idea that they served brunch! We stopped in on a Sunday when we had some time to kill and from how empty it was , I figured that no one else in the world knew they served brunch either! Not a lot to offer for brunch(missing some of the things I would think were staples i.e. biscuits, fruit...) but what they did have to offer was really good. The potatoes tasted more like mac & cheese, a little too rich for me for breakfast. They also had several omelets and different variations of eggs benedict. Bonefish Grill is nothing if rock solid consistent from place to place, time to time. Though I now live out of town, my family frequents this particular location time and time again for its great service and ... Bang Bang shrimp. It seems to me that none of my family members will dine here WITHOUT ordering this appetizer; sometimes my dad orders it as an entree. My personal go-to is the salmon-topped salad. In my mind, this is exactly what at least one entree salad on the menu should be: satisfying, healthy, refreshing, tasty and *not* covered in fried onions, shredded cheese, tortilla chips, yadayadayada. Don't get me wrong, those things are all good, but when I really am trying to be good, I want a salad that let's me do that. (Besides, if I'm going to be bad, I'm getting a something much more serious than a salad.) This little beauty is topped with salmon, asparagus, goat cheese, green beans, fennel, tomatoes and a citrus herb vinaigrette. You get for reals vegetables on this salad, too, not a bunch of little corn kernels. They start you off with some yummy bread, on the house. The fish preparations are also a great choice and can be customized. If you're undecided on which sauce to go for, sometimes they're kind enough to bring you out a tasting before you commit. The place is always packed whenever we go, the last time being on our way in from the airport at about 9pm on a Wednesday evening. We frequently wind up with the same server (whose name eludes me now), but she's great. We always have attentive service. A more casual, slightly cheaper seafood place went in down the block -- I know the point is to compete, but I have a hard time seeing how they're going to do that. read more

Bonefish is where all the wannabe trendy soccer moms and dads in West Chester hang out on weekend nights. The atmosphere is cool, modern, and the bar has long tables that encourage conversation among patrons instead of separated small ones. We usually skip this place on weekends as we've seen lines out the door (reservations are encouraged). If you go later on a weeknight you should have no trouble getting in, but at that point the serving staff just seems annoyed to have to deal with you. We went a few weeks ago and actually witnessed three servers fighting over "who had to take us." The restaurant was pretty empty but it was only 9pm! Once we got a server we ordered iced teas and she actually rolled her eyes, I guess she was hoping for a wine-inflated bill. We ordered our usual, me, the petite Sea Bass with the lemon butter sauce (you choose your fish, then your preparation at Bonefish), and him, the Scallops with the Chimichuri sauce. Fish portions are large, so order the "petite" size if you can. I usually choose the asparagus for a side, while he sticks to the Potatoes Au Gratin (even though they are served using what appears to be a cafeteria style ice cream scoop). The food is consistently top notch. Final words: make reservations on the weekend and don't expect quick or attentive service. Go for the food, though! read more

With that being said when I look up reviews for a SEAFOOD restaurant and see comments such as "I dont like seafood so I will judge this place based on steak" I get a headache, I LITERALLY GET A DAMN HEADACHE. If you dont like seafood them PLEASE for the love of God refrain from writing a review of a seafood restaurant. Now that I got that off of my chest I will judge this place based on.... ITS SEAFOOD. I have been here multiple times and each experience has been nothing short of fantastic. The atmosphere gives this place away a bit as the chain restaurant it is. With that being said ive never had better seafood dishes in Cincinnati. Every meal is prepared to perfection and I can tell you from experience that the seafare is all fresh. My two friends from high school and I spent the evening tonight and had a wonderful time reminiscing about our days together before and after our graduation in 1965. Upon our arrival the restaurant was not overly busy. When greeted at the door by hostess all she said was "2" no smile, no hello, no welcome and at that point I new my experience was not going to be good. Once seated at our table we were greeted promptly by our server. She spoke so fast that the person I was with had to stop her on numerous occasion. (she also spilled a pitcher of water on one of customers at the table across from us) We had just finished our salads and she came over to clear our plates and asked us if we were ready for desert. (we had received our entrees yet) Bottom line the service was not very good. Our food I ordered the baja fish tacos. They looked very nice but did not have any taste.(9.99 way over priced) She the shrimp and scallops . Very small portion and it also had no taste. (16.99 way way over priced. Do you enjoy be seated right away just to wait to get service? This is the place for you then! First thing waitress says to us when she comes to the table is "you are table #9 for me right now." Should have been the first sign but we didn't see it. 15 minutes after ordering our drinks we finally get them. Nothing special, just a bottle of beer. Food finally comes out after 20-25 minutes and are first round of drinks are empty. Order another drink and they come out when we are almost finished with the food. My favorite seafood restaurant in Cincinnati for many years (frequented the NKY location in my younger days). I personally just love the ambiance. Happy Hour flavor at the bar and intimate dining on the other side. I love their bread & oil and they serve my favorite sauvignon blanc Merryvale Starmont. The dish that keeps me coming back for more is the Tilapia Imperial. I'm writing this review so that others might try and love this dish (making it less likely to ever be removed from the menu!!!!) Review from a non seafood lover. I can occasionally visit a seafood establishment and order steak or chicken just to be in the mere presence of friends and families. First came the bang bang shrimp. It was tasty it almost made me give up on the notation that I don't eat seafood. It was just that darn good. Next, came the bread with seasoned olive oil. This place is superb. When my fish came out it looked delicious. Again, I was equally surprised by the well seasoned soft white fish that was fried to perfection. The bar drinks were delicious. My hubby really liked his shrimp fettuccine. So, here I am the non seafood lover craving another trip to the Bone Fish Grill. I think I am now a previous non seafood lover. Well I guess this is the place to be on a Friday night in the burbs... woot woot! I came with my dad and cousin - reso at 7:45... got seated maybe 10 minutes later... no problem. It was packed. We got the ahi app which was delicioso - they must sear, crust, and chill it then plate. The sauces are good and chopsticks are on every table. We also got a really nice bottle of pinot grigio (... ok maybe 2). My cousin got the pork chop because he doesn't eat fish - he was happy with it. I got the bang bang shrimp tacos (served with a mixed greens salad) which were great. My dad got the orange roughy special with shrimp, scallops, and a piccata sauce - his favorite part was the side served which was some sort of garbanzo bean mixture - but he loved the dish... not a crumb left! I was impressed because at a place like this I would have thought at least one of our dishes would have had something wrong with it, but they are all good. The server was friendly. It did take a while for our food to get to the table, but it was really busy and we didn't mind since we were chatting and drinking wine. My dad took my mom here often and they never complained about it so I think it's a solid place to go when you want a good meal. read more

Bonefish Grill was highly recommended to the Husband's side of the family (the In-Laws moved here a few months ago for work) so when we were in town visiting during Christmas break, we decided to give it a try. Bonefish is located in one of the many plazas that seem to dot Ohio. We arrived and I felt like I was in an Olive Garden or some place similar (only because of the raised booths). The ambient lighting was nice and we were promptly served water. Our waiter, Brad, really made dinner great. I think the food was decent but the great service gives this place four stars. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer was excellent. The Wagyu Beef and Ginger Dumplings was not worth it. I am a huge calamari fan and I thought Bonefish's calamari wasn't too bad. The cilantro-filled dipping sauce was delicious! We had the Chilean Sea Bass (tender, flaky and great with the Lemon Butter sauce), the Scallops and Shrimp (the shrimp was wonderful with the wood oven grilled taste but the scallops were rubbery and tasteless) and the Imperial Longfin was confusing because there was so much going on. Happy Hour lasts until 6:30, though, so the drinks were cheap and plenty (the Winter White Cosmo was nice and holiday-y although I generally don't like girly drinks and the well drinks weren't bad). Came here for dinner with the family. The atmosphere is a little crowded for my liking but it was warm and inviting. Here's what I tried: Bang Bang Shrimp - it was OKAY. Just seemed like fried shrimp smothered in a chipotle mayo sort of sauce. After eating one, I was tired of the flavor. Chilean Sea Bass (with herb pesto) - DELICIOUS. The sea bass was flaky and fresh. Definitely get the pesto with it. Mahi Mahi - the portion was pretty small but it was grilled nicely. Would order again. As for sides, you can't go wrong with the creamy mashed potatoes. I would steer away from the spaghetti squash, unless you like blandness. It literally had 0 flavor. The food was great, of course, except that they were out of the crab and corn chowder, which is on my Last Meal list. That was sad. So I subbed the lobster bisque, which was okay but not stellar. Not memorable, like the chowder. However, our service WAS memorable. Our table was waited on by the team of Sarah and Chad. It was Chad's first night and Sarah was training him. And I can't say enough about how good they were. Attentive without hovering, personable, warm...they were absolutely great wait-people and a real asset to Bonefish. We asked to speak with the manager just so we could compliment Sarah and Chad, but he never showed up at our table, so I just have to suffice with a Yelp review. I went on a day when they were doing a bang-bang shrimp special. Big deal! Not to me, but it was to many others who came in just for the special. I tried the shrimp. Yeh, okay, but not worth the wait. Inside is presented well. The hostess' and waitstaff are friendly. While waiting for a table, we were presented with Hors d'oeuvres a few times. Nice touch Bonefish! Now to the food. I had trout. They ruined it by burying it in a sauce. My fish and sauce was saturated with fat; oil/butter/margarine most likely. It was awful. Others at my table had appealing dinners. Appealing to the eye only. But again, saturated with fat and oil. I love seafood and think of it as light food. Not heavy gut-wrenching oil filled like this.
