My girlfriend and I came here for my birthday. This restaurant has a modern vibe and a variety of food options from chicken to steaks and many seafood options. I had the French dip sandwich with homemade kettle chips. My girlfriend had the Shrimp Tacos which our server warned were a little spicy. From the moment we walked in, until we left, service was impeccable. We were seated promptly, orders taken in short order, and food served in good time. The French dip sandwich I had was actually two sandwiches on focaccia bread. It came with homemade kettle chips and dipping drippings. It was a good sandwich, although the bread was quite filling. The focaccia bread was a bit more thicker than I am accustomed to and not as crispy, but it still was pretty good. The sliced beef and cheese on the sandwich was very good and the drippings sauce decent. The homemade kettle chips were good as well and not too salty. My girlfriend really liked her shrimp tacos. She said they were very good and especially liked the sauce. Our server checked on us frequently to make sure our drinks were filled and to see if we needed anything else. This restaurant has the checkout iPad type devices, which I'm not a big fan of, but they were pretty easy to use. We came here on a Saturday around 1:30 pm and it was not crowded at all. There is outdoor seating available as well but we ate inside since it was pretty hot. Bathrooms in this establishment were clean and I liked the atmosphere. This restaurant does have a rewards program as well. I highly recommend and would come again. Service was top notch, employees very friendly and attentive, but mostly the food was good!

I usually don't write bad reviews but this one is kinda really bad so I figured it would help people who are thinking of trying this place out. We tried this place yesterday because we wanted to listen to the music on the Liberty Center Square while we ate and were out of the sun. We ordered a couple of drinks (which were were over priced but we were happy to pay as long as it was well made). The server said the margarita had real fruit but later once the drinks came out it was only syrup, showing the lack of training. When the sunshine arrived, the dragon roll did not ahve a table side fire finish (as mentioned by the menu) and upon asking for it it was pretty sub par display. For 27$, the taste was very meh, again proving over priced and expensive food. The rainbow roll kept breaking up into pieces showcasing lack of proper technique and really thr server never came back to ask about the food until we got up to pay the check. For $100, the food and drinks and the whole experience lacked in every area and we will definitely not be recommending this to any of our friends.

Came here with my mom and grandma. We strolled in around 11:30 and waited at the front for 5 minutes for someone to notice us. The restaurant was empty. When we finally sat down, the menu was huge. I ordered the Asian salad and the crab crunch roll. The Asian salad portion was huge, delicious, and flavorful. My mom had the avocado chicken club and said that the fries were to die for. The red sangria was good. The restaurant overall didn't seem super clean. I went into the bathroom to wash my hands and the facet fell off the handle. The food was good but if you are looking for a nice place to eat with an elegant or step up from a bar, I would go somewhere else.

Don't waste your time eating here. The sushi wasn't great. I don't recommend this place.

Very disappointed. My husband and I went for date night last night. Not only was there a shortened menu for the month, the food was honestly upsetting. My husband and I both ordered the New York Strip Steaks (medium rare). The menu described them as 12 ounces served with fingerling potatoes. Our food was brought to us, and it was quite literally horrible. We were served TINY steaks and French fries. Because we don't like to complain, we decided to just go ahead and eat the steaks (even though they were no more than 5 ounces each). Upon cutting them open, we realize that both were blue rare and inedible. We notified our server (who was amazing) and he agreed that both steaks were very underdone. While sitting waiting for our steaks, our waiter came to inform us that he had spoken with his manager and the chef who told him that the steaks were absolutely medium rare, despite the fact that they were literally still purple in the middle. I asked that if that was their definition of medium rare, we would prefer he cook it to his definition of medium. Our steaks were brought out 10 minutes later completely well done which I do believe was done in spite. They were chewy and tough with little flavor. My husband described it as a "Walmart steak". We paid our tab, got up and left. Completely disappointed in a $140 dinner. I could've eaten a better steak at Waffle House.

So during the crazy tornado weather me and my family were trying to find somewhere that was still open and this was one of the few we stumbled upon. Even though we were the only ones dining in, the service was great and the waiter was very patient with us and answered all questions that we had. He even double checked in the kitchen about any food allergies for the table. The restaurant is nice and open inside there was a smell but it could've just been them cleaning up at the end of the night. For the food, we ordered the cilantro lime chicken whcih was quite tasty especially after getting the sriracha butter on the side which added a great flavor of spice. We ordered the chicken stir fry which was also very yummy and saucey. They have some appetizer options on their late night happy hour menu which we ordered. The avocado egg rolls were fresh and good and the sliders were okay. It only came with two which was a bit underwhelming. I will say the food was good but the pricing was veryyyy high that I don't really see myself coming back here. Each entree was at least $30 and the bill for two entrees and two happy hour appetizers came out to around $80 not including tip.

Cheesecake slice

Last night my meal started with a very good Fish n Chips main course. The fish was a reasonable portion of a fillet that was lightly breaded and cooked just right. This also came the fries that had a different seasoning on them that was a nice change to plain fries. I also had a frozen strawberry daiquiri which was wonderful. The problems started when I got back to my hotel room and went to eat the cheesecake I purchased. I am a huge cheesecake fan and it's the only dessert I get while out. While the taste was fine I was appalled at the slice I received for my $15. This slice was barely 3 inches long and an inch wide. I called them to voice a complaint and was told these are all pre-sliced and not cut by the server. We talked a bit and apparently this is the smallest of all the desserts and so small the person I talked with doesn't order them herself. Being a fan of cheesecake I would avoid it all costs unless they increase the size as it's borderline robbery at $15. And the sad close is the cheesecake really tasted great w the sauce provided. The service was great and I'm on the fence if I would return.

Billed for carrot cake when the manager said she'd take it off, after our waitress "went on vacation". Smh

The burgers for Burger Week were great. Sam, our waitress, was in another world, unfortunately. She knew we wanted cake after our meal and brought the menu but never came back to ask which kind. As I started to get up to look for her, a manager came by and asked if we needed anything, and we told her that we were waiting for our waitress to order carrot cake. When the manager brought back the cake, she said she'd take it off the bill while looking in our eyes but look at our receipt, Yelpers!?!?! It's still on the bill!!!! My mister never checks the bill and I should have but our waitress-in-another-world held us up longer than we wanted to be there, so we were ready to go. It was a slow afternoon in the restaurant, so why were they so inattentive? Whose attention did Sam rather have or give herself to? Their menu items are priced unreasonably high. I asked Sam how they justified the price of the fish and chips at $37. She said she just works there and didn't know why. I asked if the plate had generous pieces of fish and she said they only have one piece. Wow. I can only see a few things cool about Kona Grill. Their sushi, KG burger, maybe the cocktails, and the carrot cake! They spend a lot of money choosing great locations, passing that expense down to its customers, and while I keep being lured in to this place for one thing or another, in the end, it's really over-rated.

Stoped in for lunch today to celebrate some competed work. The service was great and I quickly started on the champaign. The food was delicious and I had the California Roll and my guest had the salmon. I would say that if you are in the Liberty Township area, this is a fun place for celebration or just a business lunch. Good food, nice community atmosphere, this was great.

We liked their happy hour choices, with $3, $6, and $9 options. The Pinot Noir was good for $6 and the potstickers and macadamia popcorn chicken were good. The main course was a little disappointing. We ordered the NY Strip and Frites, and added the butter, which didn't add much for costing an extra $8. The steak was a little overcooked and dry, but not bad. We also got a side of pretzel rolls and butter, but the butter was just wrapped butter chips you'd find in a diner. Ambience didn't feel too special, but our server was very attentive and nice. Bottom line: might come back for happy hour drinks and bites, but not another overpriced dinner.

Tonight my husband took me to Kona Grill for our 8th anniversary celebration. This was our second time there. (The first time the food and customer service was so memorable that I knew we would return.) Once again they did not disappoint, our waitress HK was so nice and attentive. She was so awesome! We even had a manager-Adam, come by and chat with us, everyone was so nice. We even got treated to champagne and dessert! Everything was delicious! We will be returning! Happy Anniversary to us!!! Thank you Kona Grill

The girl in the front was friendly and welcomed us. The decor inside is nice, may be a bit older, but I think that is what gives it some charm. They have a couple tea rooms, which is nice, also a sushi bar, a large regular bar and then of course their hibachi grills which is the main event. Did not try sushi, so cannot give an opinion on that. But I did enjoy the food very much, it is on the more expensive side per person, but you know what you are getting here, it is the atmosphere, the show and the food all together to get the full experience for the price. I myself chose the filet mignon with scallops. Filet medium rare, it was cooked just the way I liked it, it was tender and flavorful and not over done. Scallops also were on point, the chef did a good job. I think he may have been newer as he did not do some of the tricks I am used to in a place like this. But he did a good job and was friendly. Our server was friendly, the only complaint is when we went to pay, he said we could not do individual payments and we had to do it in blocks of 4, which did not work for us. We asked to speak to the Manager and then we suddenly all had our bills split properly how we needed since we were a mixed group, so I thank them for doing that. We brought a cake as well and we were able to cut it up at the table and enjoy it there as well, so I cannot give them anything but 5 stars. Friendly, good food, entertainment and accommodating to our requests. Good experience all around. Enjoy!

I believe the food tastes significantly better than Kyoto, just down the street. It's a good bit cleaner inside too. However, on take out orders, be prepared to wait. 4x takeout and the order has NEVER been ready even close to when promised. Tonight said 35 minutes. Approaching an hour now and no signs of being ready.... So if you're interested in takeout here, (the food has been good) I suggest you show up 30 minutes after the promised time... even after putting in review still not ready....

It's located in a strip mall next to Kroger. It's a smallish restaurant that has six 4+ top tables and a sushi bar. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by a nice woman who was also our waitress and prepared food. The menu included some basic sushi rolls, a few speciality rolls, hibachi items, rice bowls and appetizers. It's small but includes a lot of classics. We ordered two house salads, miso soup, gyoza, crab Rangoon, spicy tuna roll, tempura California roll, and Thai boba tea. (We were hungry!) We had read a few reviews that service was slow but we had the opposite experience. The food came out extremely fast! Our salads and soup arrived first and then almost everything arrived at once, hot and fresh! The restaurant only had 2 other seated tables but they had a fair amount of togo orders while we were waiting. Let's start with salad and soup - traditional hibachi type salad and soup. The salad had the dressing on the side in cute heart shaped bowl. The soup was traditional and was hot and tasty. Next up appetizers - the menu didn't indicate the gyoza was deep fried but it was very good too. Crispy on the outside and moist and filling in the middle. The crab Rangoon had been mentioned in previous reviews and I'm so glad we tried it. It's on the sweeter side but filling is very creamy with pieces of imitation crab. I'd recommend them both. Finally onto the rolls - my daughter loved her California tempura roll - packed with traditional California roll filling and perfectly fried. My spicy tuna roll was extremely delicious, a little spicy and packed with flavor. Our total was $45, but we had a really great and extremely filling meal. I'd highly recommend dining in or ordering togo. Service was excellent and our waitress was so nice. One last detail, they have wooden chairs with smiley faces cut out.

Never lets me down…read more... I've been here several times. And, as a creature of habit, I can give certain restaurants great, yet boring, reviews. Udon Thai and Sushi is one of those places. I am, by fault, a go with what you know patron. If I go to a restaurant, find something that I like, I never need the menu again. Many have labeled me as boring because of this, but it's just how I'm wired. See, I label restaurants as "this place" or "that place". Example - Udon is my "spicy beef basil" place. The first time I came in, I ordered the Beef Basil dish, it was perfect and I never needed the menu again. What is the Beef Basil dish? Great question, nobody. Let me explain. First off, it's called something else on the menu. And, since I don't know what that is, we'll call it.... "Beef Basil". It's a vegetable and beef stir fry dish, seasoned with basil and other spices. They ask you for a spice level of mild, medium or hot. I'm a medium-hot to hot guy. I always say this and they always get it right. It is served with white rice. Wandering away from the entree menu, I have tried both their fried Chicken Gyoza's as well as their Crab Rangoon. Both I have enjoyed very much. Would I go back? Well, every time I want Beef Basil, yes, I do go back and will continue to do so. The service has always been spectacular. It's kept to a minimum as there aren't a lot of tables. You'll notice quite a few delivery pick-ups during your meal, so they do stay quite busy. But the servers at Udon have always gone above and beyond to make sure you have a very nice dinner. Udon is one of those places that doesn't rely on flashy fancy distractions. It's clean, nice and simple. Their foundation of great service and great food really is what keeps me coming back. I know what I'm going to get every time and I always enjoy myself. I'm not "Frankie Five-star". I don't give that fifth star out easily. Udon gets that 5 star because they focus on making the customer happy without a bunch of distractions or fluff. Three people with entrees, a couple of appetizers and soft drinks comes to about $75, before tip. It's not the cheapest place around but not the most expensive either. It's good. So treat yourself to some goodness.
