We've eaten there twice and the food was excellent and so was the service. It's also very relaxing and comfortable. We always get a booth. Last time we went was for our anniversary and the waitress brought us a very generous slice of cheesecake on the house. Great food and service. Bonefish grille is a chain, so if you've ever been to one, I dont have to tell you about the place itself. It's usually very consistent in its quality. Waiter was good, NP. The only issue i have, is that their food/dinner descriptions need to be better- for example, my friend had the shrimp scampi pasta dinner & it actually had cream in it!? What?!!! If the description says shrimp scampi, then it should be only butter oil and garlic ....no cream! My friend is severely lactose intolerant!!! We didn't think to ask, as the description made NO reference to a cream base or that cream was added. A shrimp scampi description would lend itself to NO cream! read more

I give Bonefish a 2 because of Covid insensitivity. The only reason they didn't get a 1 is because they were mostly masked. We decided we could have one last dinner out before the Delta variant made it too dangerous, so we decided to go to Bonefish. We went at 4:15 on a Tuesday because we knew the crowd would be light. We were shocked when we got there to be told there would be a 10 minute wait unless we agreed to sit in the bar area. After we took a table in the bar, they proceeded to fill all of the booths next to us This was clearly not the socially distanced experience we had anticipated, but I thought they must be a lot busier than I expected. Then came the real shocker: I walked through the main dining area to access the restroom and discovered the restaurant was almost empty! Shame on Bonefish for crowding people together unnecessarily during a pandemic! read more

Loved loved loved this chain!! Didn't feel like a chain, Felt like you were in a unique find of a restaurant . Food was great and affordable options, service was grand, drinks were delicious ! We had to shrimp/ scallops.... I had some kind of island tropical cocktail ..... so yummy!!! Hot bread is brought out to the table!! My husband and I had dinner this evening at Bonefish. Today they had a special on their bang bang shrimp. My husband ordered beef sliders and bang bang shrimp. I ordered the bang bang shrimp, au gratin potatoes and well done broccoli. So good. Great service. We didnt stop there, I had a refill of my tea and my husband had a coffee and we shared the gluten free brownie with bluebell ice cream. YUMMY! Came here on a Monday night with my wife and mother. Decor is nice, greeted very warmly by the hostess. We asked for a bigger booth that normally seats 6 and they were happy to accommodate. To start had a trio of starters: - calamari: initially was overly salty and we had also asked for tentacles whereas we got rings however this was quickly rectified and they brought us some more. The tentacles had very light batter and were excellent. - ceviche: excellent and you could taste the mix of ginger, cilantro, parsley, peppers, lime and a few other ingredients along with tasty shrimp and scallops. It also came with chips with some kind of chili spice on it. They didn't do much for me but the actual ceviche was something I would have a again. Fresh is the best word to describe the taste. - Ahi tuna: very good. Get this, get this, get this. Very good quality, light and tasty with a few sauces. My wife and I then had steaks. Hers was the Filet Mignon and I had the Rib Eye. For the price point (around the $20) mark they were pretty good. We just had some plain veg with them however my mother had the corn chowder which was nice but nothing to rave about. I will return again and try a few fish dishes and the bang bang shrimp which seems to be their most popular starter. I would recommend this place overall. Corporate chain, Meh, average food, good service, high priced for quality. I liked the Calamari with the Thai style dipping sauce, and the lobster Bisque but it was not the best I have ever had. The other person who said it was a grown up Red Lobster is probably spot on with the association. The special plates (Lobster stuffed shrimp) are a bit too small. Maybe they should advertise them as Small Plate specials.( Just a suggestion) My Dad said he was starving still when we left. I myself had the Lobster Grilled cheese and while it was not bad but it wasn't very imaginative or anything "Wowzie" or special either. ( Chef, John Marchetti you spoil me with your innovative grilled cheese and Mac and Cheese leaving me unable to enjoy them anywhere else-lol). In coastal cities/states when I visit, I want good fish. Since I am not a lover of seafood I can eat it if it is fresh and prepared very well. I am not sure how these types of places stay in business in states like Florida. I am sure they probably do well on their chain name but there are so many Mom And Pop places on the water that serve better seafood and have better deals. In Non Coastal places like where I live in AZ I suppose most folks do not know any better, or can't find or afford the real good places that have to fly in fresher fish. A grown-up Red Lobster. Kinda. Stopped by late on a Saturday night to address some hunger prior to an overnight drive to Atlanta. Figured out that as a chain, it was probably a safe bet for unoffensive eats. Execution was interesting. Bang bang shrimp was quite good. For nine bucks, actually got a pretty reasonable serving of lightly battered half-dollar-sized shrimp, all in a compelling creamy sweet/mildly spicy sauce. Au gratin was a reasonable accompaniment, but it was odd that potatoes came cubed, rather than scalloped, as was my expectation. Pre-meal bread plate is terrific. Seriously good with the olive oil-pesto dip. This could only be improved it they got onboard the burgeoning sourdough trend. But what the hell is bang bang? Despite the restaurant's upscale, proto-Asian fusion decor, the promotions (lobster Tuesday, Bang Wednesday) seem more TGI Fridays than would befit a more upscale place. Also interesting from a New Englander's standpoint that lobster is proclaimed "cold water." A bit of research revealed that there's an inferior warm water substitute that isn't actually lobster, but another claw-less genus. read more

I've been a fan of Bonefish Grille for a long time so I was happy to hit his one in Ocala...I really like the simple menu and the consistency I've found with the food and the service. We stopped in late for dinner and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table (too tired to find another place). When we finally got seated we ordered drinks and the Bang Bang Shrimp appy-which came quickly and was delish. I ordered a cup of shrimp and corn chowder (yummy!) and the Grouper with Pan Asian sauce as an entree. My Mom had the Ahi Tuna dinner and my daughter had the fish and chips n All of us enjoyed the meal, though because of how busy they were the waiter was a little frazzled and slow. My grouper was done perfectly with just the right amount of sauce...and the edamame succotash was really pretty good-despite my initial reluctance. The Ahi tuna was a perfect sear and my daughter's fish and chips were done well without tasting greasy. I've eaten at too many chains while on this trip, but THIS Bonefish didn't disappoint...and made my Mom happy as well. read more

Came in for a Christmas get together for my office, waitress knocked over my guest Martini which got onto her white dress. She did offer to cover the cleaning charge, but when asked about the Martini was brought out a half filed whisky glass of Raspberry martini to fill it back up. It was brought to the managers attention who did replace it and also brought a warm towel for the sticky mess. We were in Ocala so maybe why the waitress was so unassuming. Server never asked nor brought water, would have liked bread with the chowder but our server was no where to be seen, so we ate the chowder while it was still hot. The food was just okay. We were handed our check and server never asked us if we participated in the dining rewards program. We tipped below our usual 20% since the restaurant was not that busy and we left feeling we should have dined elsewhere. My husband and I had never been to Bonefish before and didn't realize there was a location here because it's tucked back away from 200. We decided to stop in for dinner one night and we are so glad we did! One thing I love about Bonefish is that the lighting is dim, so it feels much more intimate when having dinner. Although the restaurant isn't huge, we were able to be seated immediately and our service was incredible. All of our food and drinks were out very quickly and cleared away within no time, and everyone we interacted with was very pleasant. Did the management change here? This place has always been on point. Had dinner here tonight and tried a plate style seafood appetizer. It was just ok. My wife ordered the fillet as always medium. It came out rare. She thought her salad tasted like mush. I ordered Chilean Seabass. It was ok, a little over cooked. Usually melts in your mouth, because they don't over cook it. The cocktails have always been excellent. Tonight the ice had melted in them and made them watery, like they had set on the bar too long. The manager did come out and offered to make my wife's fillet right, but she had had enough by then. Hopefully they were having a off night and the place hasn't lowered their standards. read more

Ate here the other evening. Long wait so we opted to sit in the bar area. Host just pointed and told us we could sit there. No silver ware or menus. Our waitress came, took our order. Son ordered steak and shrimp w/bacon mac & cheese., I had rainbow trout Oscar. Sons or came out with hair on the dish. My dish came out and the "Oscar" was just pieces of crab in a small spot on the fish. I had mine boxed up while they re-prepared my sons order. We left. He never received the bacon mac and cheese. Decided to try this place out after hearing good reviews. Waited about 45-50 minutes before checking back in to see if our table was ready-turns out it was and they didn't bother to text us to let us know. Our server was quite ditzy, we had to ask for everything from utensils to actually taking our order. I told her that I wasn't planning on ordering an entree and she turned and walked away and didn't even bother asking my husband what he wanted to order. His medium filet came out completely raw to the point where it bled all over the plate. Our shrimp appetizer came out cold. The free bread was nice & fresh and I noticed that other tables were offered multiple rounds of bread and our server never bothered to offer another piece as we waited for the steak to be cooked. This is our favorite restaurant in Ocala for special occasions. We went Saturday night and the food was disappointing. Prices are up 15-20% and normal portions much smaller. The signature Bang Bang shrimp used much smaller bay shrimp vs larger medium shrimp and less shrimp. Price went from $10.90 last month to $12.50. At this rate not sure it will stay our favorite restaurant . Service was good that's why I didn't rate lower stars. read more

This is the place to be if you are looking for a great crab cake. No other restaurants in the surrounding areas has crab cakes so good. Not even the Bone Fish Grill in the adjacent towns. I had lobster shrimp gnocchi. Good flavor good over all just a little too greasy. I used a spoon to get off the extra oil on the plate. My husband had salmon with the garlic whipped potato and spinach side dish. He was very happy with his choice. I had a taste of his potato. Just a perfect hint of garlic blended into the potato. For desert, we had the pumpkin larva cake. Ok. A little too sweet for my taste. The bread and seasoned olive oil dipping was perfect. I had to ask for a little cup to save the left over oil from the serving. Michelle, our server was a perfect 10. Can't ask for a better server. We certainly will come back and certainly will take companies to this place. It is so nice to have this establishment in this town. Great ambiance, reasonable prices, great foods and great service. The Bone Fish Grille is a little pricey. It's great for special events. The food is very well done and tasty, so there's the reason for the pricey. I took my parents here for lunch on a Saturday. It was nice, the only down sides were I'm used to having bread come out with your appetizer. It was brought to our attention that on Saturday it's only brought out when requested. In addition, my husband was served rotten spinach. It was quickly fixed with complimentary desserts. I come here a lot with friends for brunch. Today was not okay. Brunch is almost always busy, but admittedly it was busier than normal. They did not staff well at all. When the place is packed it's not okay to only have 1 singular bartender. We waited 45 minutes for mimosas. Those are the easiest things to make ever. Worst experience I've ever had here.
