Today we actually sat at a table and had a nice time. My husband received two gift cards for Bonefish grill so we had to at least attempt another try. We enjoyed it very much. We had wanted to try the Bang bang shrimp because we had heard so much about it. It was good. It got spicier as we ate it so the lettuce actually helped. I ordered the pecan crusted trout and my husband ordered the pompano Parmesan crusted special. Both dishes were well done. My absolute favorite thing was dessert. Chocolate creme brûlée. Oh my!! Deep rich dark chocolate with real whipped cream. Yum!!! We will definitely go back but during the off hours 9/29/19 After having our Yelp event here, we returned to see if things had improved here with the host/hostess situation. We came at 1:00 on a Sunday. The restaurant was half full but still the host asked if we had reservations. For some reason, that ticks me off. We got the old fashioned and the tropic heat martini - we both loved our drinks. The old fashioned comes with a glass on top to trap the smoke inside, so you can lift it away at your convenience. We split the mahi mahi with grilled shrimp with lemon caper sauce, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. Our fave part was the grilled shrimp, juicy and succulent. I tend not to order mahi mahi at restaurants as they tend to come out dry, but my hubby liked this one. The sides were excellent. My husband and I had a date night and decided to go to Bonefish for a bunch of appetizers instead of a main course. So glad we did. We each had the sashimi tempura crunch which is simply amazing! The ahi was cooked perfectly rare with a yummy sauce on the side topped with something crunchy. And of course some wasabi in the soy sauce made it the perfect amount of heat. We shared an order of beef potstickers. A serving comes with 6 so it was a great amount. They were also cooked perfectly with a mild fry sitting in a yummy broth of ginger and teriyaki topped with a delicious combo of chopped veggies like cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, peppers, scallions and I don't know what else but it was crunchy and flavorful. We also had the kung pao brussel sprouts. They are air fried with spicy dipping sauce. This all was a perfect combination. Food was below mediocre, though server was pleasant and ambiance perfect for a nice dinner restaurant. Had been excited to go here since moving to the area. I grew up in Southern California and frequented Maui, so living in landlocked Arizona for almost a decade was reason enough to move somewhere with great seafood. Unfortunately, Bonefish is not great. My husband and I started with the crab cakes that were mushy all the way through. No nice crisp crust at the first press of the fork. More the mushy consistency of wet crackers without even holding together that well. The were so bland I had to ask for salt, as there is none on the table these days, understandably. The sauce was so overpowering, it just added hot wet to the experience. For our entree's, my husband had Mahi Mahi with lemon butter, grilled shrimp and sides of mashed potato with the broccoli special. I had salmon with the mango salsa, rice, and broccoli special sides. We both said the broccoli looked seasoned, but was flavorless. My rice was undercooked, dry, and hard. My husband brought this to the attention of the server who asked how he could make it right. My whole meal was underwhelming so I told him I wasn't asking for anything new and we just were letting them know. Salmon with mango salsa should be a no brainier taste trip to amazing. Unfortunately, I couldn't even get through half of it. The texture was off and there was just nothing that made me keep wanting to eat. This was a pricey low calorie dinner as 80% wasn't consumed, it was that disappointing. My husband's Mahi Mahi was also not what is expected in a good fish house. We've had better in fast food tacos. Beyond dry, especially when combined with dry mashed potatoes without any seasoning. Thankfully, I had asked for the salt earlier on as that made the potatoes palatable. Our shared appetizer, entrees, 2 iced teas, and one glass of St Michelle Riesling, with tip, came to just over $90. That would have been a great price if the food was amazing. One out of six meals were good. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, we had a view of the kitchen last night. Two of us had fish and chips that sat under the warmer for at least 10 minutes before being served. The coating on the fish was saturated with oil and was starting to get soggy inside ... at least the fish itself was hot and cooked well. One of us got a salad which had no flavor. Two others got a steak and neither was cooked correctly the first time around. Both asked for the steaks to be cooked medium and one was done medium-well while the other was more on the rare side. At least the shrimp tacos were good, even though we could see that they sat under the warmer longer than the fish and chips had. Worse, while the waitress helped make things right, she seemed not to care and we overheard her telling the table behind us, which also had problems with their order, that she didn't know what the kitchen was doing. And while the manager did comp the two steak dinners, he did not seem to care that much either, almost like he was just waiting for a bad day to end. Actually, you don't even deserve a 1. My best friend from childhood ordered the same thing. We both ordered filet mignon, salad, and green beans. The salad came out and it tasted like a commercial salad not a fresh homemade salad. The filet mignon look like a pancake. I ordered the filet mignon to be cooked medium. It was medium well. I mentioned this to the server. I said, my filet mignon is a little overcooked and taste terrible. The waiter said, he was gonna make me a new fillet mignon. The second fillet came overcooked. The waiter saw that I had hadn't touched my food and my girlfriend barely ate her food. I asked for a box. I said the dog would like this. The waiter was awful. He never asked if I wanted another cocktail. And never filled up my water glass. He saw that myself and my friend from high school put our dinner in a box for my dog. He never said why aren't you eating your dinner? He didn't care.. I still left a good tip, which I don't know why I did. And never offered to fill my glass with water. Man never asked me if I wanted another martini. He saw that I didn't touch my steak and he didn't care. I told him give me a box I'm gonna give the steak to my dog. I am never going back to bonefish in Ocala again. Besides a service being awful, the food was worse. The only thing that was good was the dessert. What a waste of my money. Have never had potstickers prepared that way so when I questioned it I was told they have been preparing them that way at least over a year.. didn't seem truthful since we have had them within the last year steamed or boiled.They prepared the dumplings properly and brought them to our table. This is perhaps the best Bonefish Grill in North America. My wife and I eat here every time we travel from Alpharetta to Sarasota which has now amomount to perhaps ten times. We always eat at the bar. The staff is amazing. Wonderful and attentive service. The food is terrific, the tuna, the parmesan crusted trout, the house salad. All of it, very consistent and wonderful. If you make one small comment about the salad not being fully-dressed, the manager is soon sitting next to you asking how he can make it right. It is a terrific overall experience. Also, I would have to say, a good spot for a John Travolta sighting, if that is of importance to you. read more

Im torn so can only give 3 stars. Friends invited us here and the atmosphere was nice. Our waitress was great and super friendly, talkative. The place seemed a bit understaffed. We had the fish and chips. I'd say we played it safe but actually we've not had anything better since moving to Ocala. The appetizer was tasty but a lot more saucy than expected. It might have had cheese because my husband had a stomach ache later. The big disappointment was my friends meal. Her pork chop was rare and she had to send it back. It came back rare again???? Horrible. That pretty much ruined the night. Someone did apologize and the waitress gave us all key lime cake to take home. I have been a BIG Bonefish honk for years. Like most restaurants they suffered revenue challenges after 2008. Most restaurants did the same as Bonefish: reduce portion sizes, develop lower end meal options, add a hamburger as an option....etc. the flavor profile has always been on point at Bonefish regardless, until now. I haven't frequented the chain often in the last couple years, just haven't felt the value for the dollar spent was worth it. Maybe my experience tonight is location specific, and not representative of something that's pandemic chain wide. Service was sluggish, food quality was mediocre at best(look at how much wasn't eaten on everyone's plate in my photo) and we actually sent food back because it was not acceptable. My final straw event happened when they brought my bill. We sent back one meal and received a replacement meal. The tip suggestions on the bottom of the bill were based off all meals before the deducted the meal we returned. Is this an industry standard? It certainly is unacceptable. read more

She has been our server for at least half a dozen times at this location, and to be honest, she is the best server I have ever had In a restaurant and my wife and our friends would wholeheartedly agree. My wife was in the mood for seafood tonight so off we go to Bonefish Grill in Ocala off SR 200. When we arrived the place was already quite busy and already bustling from the early dinner crowd. We were seated right away and our waitress came over and took our drink order and informed us of the evenings specials. My wife had the bang bang shrimp dinner with au gratin potatoes and steamed broccoli. I opted for bang bang shrimp and an order of beef sliders. A micro version of surf and turf if you will. Despite being quite busy our good did not take long to come out. Beef sliders were delicious as were the bang bang shrimp featuring a spicy kick from the sauce. All in all it was a vey good dinner combined with vey good service. We topped our dinner off with some coffee and chocolate brownie with raspberry sauce and ice cream. Both of us were pleasantly stuffed at this point as we enjoyed the warm cozy romantic atmosphere. There is a bang bang shrimp and martini bar special going on. Not sure how long it will be available but the shrimp are like 7 bucks and 5 dollar martinis. Take advantage of this special while you can. read more

After a 45 minute wait to be seated ( hostess said "a few " minutes ), we waited another 20 minutes, observing several servers walk past & congregate at a iPad several feet away.
