This was my family's first time here, and it was amazing overall! The service stood out--our server was so patient, even though we kept asking her to come back because we weren't ready to order. She even gave us free seafood bread, which was delicious! My sister and I shared **Combo #1**, which came with shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage, and crawfish in the special mild sauce--it was so flavorful. My mom had the **catfish and fries**, and my sister's **fish sticks** were fresh and didn't taste store-bought at all. The only thing I wasn't a fan of were the regular potato fries here--I prefer the battered fries from Red Crab. I stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. There appeared to only be one table of guest. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted. They still had Mother's Day specials so I ordered the #1 special which had: crab legs, head off shrimp, green mussels and I added a small broccoli. The bartender brought out seafood bread as appetizer. I was starving after my flight so this was a welcomed surprise. It wasn't really hot but very flavorful. We had a very attentive server, Perla. She checked on us a few times during the meal. It was our first time there. The food was good, but a little too salty for my taste. Maybe it was the Old Bay. We plan to go back, so I'll ask our server for a less salty meal. I got the 2 lobster tails, but I could only eat 1 because you get 2 servings of everything when you order 2. They bring you some delicious mayo bread while you wait for dinner. It doesn't sound appetizing but it's pretty tasty. It was quiet when we arrived; hardly anyone was there. On a side note, I am allergic to seafood but I figured they would have something for me. Not really, just wings. I ordered a half dozen wings because if I have never had them before, I was cautious. She ordered the crab legs. Like wing, you order the flavoring and they coat it. They bring the order in a ss bucket with the legs already seasoned. Let me tell you, I was disappointed with the presentation. I ordered the wings crispy, which they were not. The sauce was ok on the wings but the legs was pretty messy to eat. She said they were fresh enough. I ordered a beer, since the tap wasn't very good. The salad was tasty enough but I was to rave about the blue cheese dressing. It was outstanding. The service was just so, so. I still left a 20% tip. Until they add steak or chicken dish for us landlubbers, we will not be back. read more

I had been in the place before when it was Ruby Tuesday, so I can't say it looked too much different: sure, on the surface there is a lot of seafood related decorations and the salad bar is gone, but that was about it. We started with onion rings and a cup of clam chowder. The onion rings were nothing to be excited about but the chowder was tasty, really chunky and delicious. I had much higher expectations than what we received, I'm sorry to say. The crab was good. The shrimp was not very flavorful - it wasn't bad, just there. The corn and potatoes were okay and the sausage was not anything special. The fries were good and the gator was alright. Truly, just nothing special. Granted, it was only one visit, so I'm not checking it off, but it may be a while before we're back. read more

And the service was pretty good and our food came out fresh and flavorful. The lady taking our order was very nice, especially since we had to change something on our order, which was a bit inconvenient for her and the kitchen but she took care of it for us. We had lunch here the other day. The food was excellent! Their clam chowder was the best I have had in years. Our server was Jessica. Wow! She thought of everything! Phenomenal! She was personality plus! Professional. Servers need to take lessons from this young lady. All in all, we had a wonderful lunch that day. It's been awhile since we've been there. In a word; food was disappointing. We ordered the #3 dinner combo: crab legs, little neck clams, sausage, crayfish, corn on the cob and redskin potatoes, along with a 1/2 dz oysters. Oysters were a decent size and appeared to be blue points out of Apilachacola Bay on the Gulf of America. Unfortunately the person in the kitchen didn't know how to shuck very well. The meat needs to be separated from the bottom shell. Little neck clams were over cooked and the sausage was sliced too thin. Corn, redskins, crayfish and crab were fine. But no butter was served and there was no salt/pepper on the table. Jay the server/bartender was polite and attentive. BTW the seasoning sauce was lackluster. We like to check out any new to us place in Ocala. I will say right up front that the decor is very appealing. Our server, Haylee, was polite and friendly. She did adjust to our preference of relaxing, chatting with each other and having a leisurely dinner. The bar did not have bitters for my favorite drink of Old Fashion so I had a strawberry margarita. A pet peeve of mine is that drink prices were not posted on the menu. When the bill came, we found out that the margarita was $10 which is high compared to other places. Our meals of a fried cod fish basket and fried shrimp basket were okay. read more

I visited the restaurant with a friend today. We ordered a fried oyster basket and a fried cod basket. The breading on both the oysters and the cod was very peppery. The oysters did not appear to be oysters. I pulled apart the breading and clearly was not oysters inside. Not sure what it was. The cod was over, cooked and extremely dry. We were very unhappy with the food in this restaurant. And definitely will not visit disestablishment again, and would not recommend it to anyone. I would rate it 0 stars. read more

The service here was great! Our waiter was very attentive and answered all our questions! The food was pretty good and the prices were fair for the special of the month. I will say the only reason I give the storming crab 4 starts instead of 5 is due to price and the fact they are not very family friendly. By that I mean very limited choices for kids food but I understand that's most places! You can have your boil bag seasoned exactly how you want! That's a huge plus for me! But also a little pricy if you're not getting what's on special especially compared to other seafood restaurants. The interior of the former Ruby Tuesday's was transformed into nautical themed restaurant. Ordered fried ship and Cajun fires, and snow crab legs combo , mild with shrimp; head off. Our order was prepared quickly and packed nicely to go with everything needed including bibs for the crab legs. Once home we devoured our meals. The fried shrimp was good, would prefer butterfly, larger and more shrimp. The crab leg combo platter was the clear winner here. We chose mild, will go for the hotter medium next time. The waitress had a bad attitude once we walked in and barely checked on us. Literally it was probably us and another person in the restaurant. I had to ask for boxes and our bill. They overcharged for the food they gave us literally maybe two king leg, 2 small potatoes, and a small piece of corn for $42 that's ridiculous. I absolutely loveeee seafood. I have eaten here a few times simply because they are good and offer specials once in a while. Storming crab is cheaper than Red crab, and that's a plus. My only complaint is that unlike other seafood places you only receive 1 piece of corn and maybe 2 eggs. You also receive only a small number of potatoes. read more
