I had heard that the food was good, but pricey...and as I was in the mood for fish, I wanted to give it a try. Wow! Our food was delicious! It was not over seasoned/over salted and everything tasted fresh. The menu had quite a wide selection of dishes, from shrimp to crab cakes to salmon to mahi-mahi... and the sides were simple yet all perfect to accompany your main choice. I chose Chilean sea bass with sautéed spinach and jasmine rice - yum! Our server suggested a perfect red Pinot Noir (as I am not a white wine fan). The rest of my company ordered mahi-mahi (with same sides) and salmon. And dessert....that was chocolate lava cake!! Yes thank you! What a great birthday dinner out!! :) The parking and the maintenance are not strategically placed, just FYI if you have children or a senior in your company, but it was all good in the end. Popped up to Bonefish for all day happy hour. $5 drinks? Yes please. The bartender told us that their happy hour didn't start until 4... weird. I check my email to make sure I wasn't tripping and right there ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR it is. The bartender goes and checks with the manager and she reads her email ... I was very right. The bartender and I joke about it and get right to a raspberry vodka Collins. It comes and a cute little glass and taste pretty good. Ordered the beef sliders, beef was good but there was no cheese which made me pretty sad. I ordered some fries after the sliders and they came out sub room temperature. When we needed to adjust one item (meat a little too rare) there was no problem and it didn't ake a long time to get it back the way it was ordered. Overall, a good meal at a reasonable price. This was my first ever visit to Bonefish Grill. I had heard it was a swanky American seafood spot, but had never ventured all the way out to Short Pump to try it as I hate sprawl. Bonefish, however, made it worth the rare drive. As soon as our Yelp Elite group was greeted by a host of servers I knew we were in good hands. Each course came paired with a cocktail that ranged from spicy to fruity to sweet. The bang bang shrimp were a real highlight too. How could you not like fried shrimp? Every course that came out was well timed. You could tell that the waiters were professionals and held their service to customers in high esteem. Our server was super sweet and chatted with us, never worried to spend an extra minute with us to add that personal charm to the evening. Had a reservation for 7:45p, had to wait 20 mins after our time to be told that we were next on the list and just waiting for a hostess to seat us. Another 12 mins later they had given our reservation to someone else who just walked in the door. Got better until the food came. I was teasing the waitress (like I do everywhere - sorry insert my typical dad joke here) that i didn't like the food until I took my next bite of my salmon and quickly spit it out - RAW. Waitress took it back, gave me another set of fries (only a few fries more than I already had on my plate) since I didn't want anything else at that point (already disgusted now), and told the manager. Went to Bonefish tonight and sat on the patio. It was so nice to enjoy the outdoors and still feel like it's a fine dining experience. They have heaters,fans, a whole awning that comes down and encloses the space,a large TV , amazing service,and great food. The staff and management are so friendly and welcoming . First time eating here, and I am already questioning why I haven't tried this place before. We started off with martinis and I must say, the watermelon one, go ahead and get a second one. Their specials this week included a shrimp Rangoon dip, and was enough for three women. It definitely was a great start to the meal and had us wanting more, not because there wasn't enough but for the sheer fact that we couldn't get enough of those tint shrimps! Definitely can't wait to go back to try the bang bang shrimp, the table beside us got it and it looked AMAZING. For entrees, I ended up getting their pasta dish and added shrimp. Overall it was good, very filling and even took half the plate home. Definitely wish I would have gotten the swordfish and will have to try when I return if it's still on the menu. Went to Bonefish for a friend's birthday. I have a couple of times over the past few years, but tonight was particularly memorable. Kirtsene, our waitress was AMAZING. She was extremely attentive, knowledgeable about the menu when some of my party, who had never been there before had questions on ingredients and recommendations, and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. The Bang Bang shrimp speaks for itself. Bone fishes signature appetizer is not one to miss out on. It delivers as its name suggests. The Espresso Martini is very alcohol foward with a coffee kiss that could have been more aggressive. Good, not great. The salmon was cooked perfectly finished with a lemon butter that complimented the flavor subtlety without overstaying its welcome. The bacon mac and cheese left a little to be desired. It was creamy and had all the right ideas, but fell short when trying to pitch them. It had all the tools to succeed but choked at the finished line. Slightly bland. When one of our party's entrees was running behind, the staff didn't hesitate to comp the entree. Polite and customer oriented is the staff at Bonefish. As a bonus surprise, a free desert on the house was offered to the birthday girl. Food is placing semi-finals, with customer service taking home the gold. Few upfront facts; We'd NEVER been to Bonefish Grill, neither of us like much seafood or was in the mood for it. We were driving around, and because many places were closed because of, or early because of, the pandemic, we were headed to another restaurant; One my fiancé likes, that I'm not super into but can deal with, but he's asked me to keep a look out for other places. We like to try new restaurants with little more than a glance at their online menu and/or Instagram, and to be honest, when I pointed out Bonefish Grill and he said "Let's do it"--even after pulling up the menu, I kept saying "I don't think we're gonna like it." He was game for a new place and I figured they would have salad I could default to--so, in we went. The TV's playing at the bar made me think "Oh--not the place for us," as we both find televisions in restaurants to be highly annoying. Because of the pandemic, it was rather isolated inside; The staff (As well as we) all wore masks and when we requested a booth--and obviously many were open--we got one. A few moments later, our waiter--warning us he was new--Justin, came to take our drink orders. He offered to "walk" us through the menu--a new offer to me, at least, but it sounded helpful; My fiancé is a mind reader and said to please do. Justin told us about every menu item--helpfully marking some with a pen (SERIOUSLY helpful for me--dyslexic!), and answered questions we normally have to ask waitstaff elsewhere ("What's your most popular item? What do people usually order?") He told us that, while new, he had noticed certain items--like the Bang Bang Shrimp, which didn't seem like my cup of tea--was often an item people came to get as their sole item of the meal! I hemmed and hawed over what drink to order, mindlessly babbling that I liked both options, and off handedly mentioned we'd just be recently gotten engaged. Justin took our drink orders and told us he'd give us some time to decide on drinks and such. When he returned with our (non-alcoholic) drinks, we ordered our drinks, the Bang Bang Shrimp, and meals. Justin surprised us with two flutes of a pink, sparkling wine drink with a single cherry in each, telling us we should celebrate our commitment! More shocking was how AMAZING it was--and when he checked on us, I asked to know what it was--surely I needed a bottle at home. He told us he would reveal it at the end of the meal, wondering if we could guess. I love a good mystery, so I was determined to crack the code! The Bang Bang Shrimp was AMAZING. I got the wrong side and Justin fixed it INSTANTLY. After a few sips, I pitched him my theory; This mysterious drink was the other cocktail I couldn't decide between, while my fiancé added it had to be sparkling wine as a base. Justin told us we had, indeed, figured it out! The drinks were awesome and Justin was a cool waiter; Engaging, knowledgeable, and a fellow foodie, we decided early in to leave him a big tip AND this review--I really don't know if we would have had such a great time without his suggestions and the mystery drink to celebrate our engagement! The Bang Bang Shrimp--YOU NEED IT. Like, seriously, I get why people go JUST for this appetizer. I got chicken as a main and it couldn't beat the shrimp. The drink I ordered couldn't beat the mystery drink! ALL of our waiter Justin's suggestions--who was new to the restaurant staff--were spot on! We'll be back at Bonefish Grill--and we'll be sure to call ahead and request Justin as our waiter. If you're on the fence, I suggest you do the same and ask for him as well; He'll make a huge difference between "Well, we ate" and "Oh my god, we HAVE to go back!" Thanks Bonefish Grill for the great waiter--and thanks to our waiter, Justin, who tolerated our chit-chat, indecision, and so on--to the point we feared we'd get him in trouble. I'd stopped going to Bonefish (other locations), because the pecan encrusted trout I used to get came out greasy and just bad on the last two visits. I decided to give it another try last night after a haitus of several years. The parking lot at this Bonefish is ridiculously small, so be prepared to use the adjacent parking garage. I don't understand the long lines. It's a chain, but people really seem to like this place. We arrived last night (Wednesday, the day after Christmas), and was told our wait would be about 35 minutes. That was fine since I was catching up with an old friend. Our waiter (I think his name was Joe) was really good - describing dishes very well and timing everything perfectly. My martini was perfect. On the food, portion sizes were small. I got the crabcakes, which came with a side. I chose mashed potatoes and also opted for another side, the asparagus (extra). Everything was good, but I was still hungry when I finished. My friend got two appetizers -- oysters and bang bang shrimp. They have a $5 bang bang shrimp deal on Wednesdays, and it's an incredible value since you get so many. And they're good. I am getting over a horrible cold and didn't feel like cooking, so we tried to find a place to please the family and isn't too much of an investment in time. We are also trying to eat healthier and with a good seafood menu and options to customize...it works. For appetizers we elected for the ceviche and seared ahi tuna. We got the large tuna since there were 3 of us. Everything was exactly what we expected. For entrees my husband elected to polish off the appetizers and share my salmon with pan-Asian sauce (aka teriyaki) with spinach and broccoli. It was plenty of food for us to share. For drinks we made it in time for happy hour. He had a draft beer, I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, which was okay but I didn't love it. I'm giving you business and you make it difficult ? I left went to longhorns down the street and they made it so simple for me. I was please. Then I do a to go order through door dash giving them another chance, my order didn't have the mango salsa for the salmon, which makes the meal. I will not be eating here again. Went to bonefish this weekend after watching Star Wars for lunch and they have gotten a lot better! I don't normally review chain restaurants but they did such a great job, I just had to leave some love. From being seated to paying the bill...the service was 5 stars. Very professional and friendly, I wish I could remember the name of our waitress...she was fantastic! She had some good recommendations since we were there for brunch, never really came here other than for dinner and typically ordered seafood since that's what they do... Went with a breakfast omelette that wasn't the best I had but definitely very interesting. It was an interesting assortment of flavors with a nice touch of crab in the omelette. My friends brunch burger was so much tastier but overall I enjoyed my meal and experience. For some reason the bread was on point! Service is impeccable. Food as well. Nice ambiance. However, there was a hostess there (young girl) that literally had a shirt ( if you can call it that ) on that did not cover her stomach. When I say not cover, I mean not much was left to the imagination. It was quite surprising to us considering that this establishment is considered one of the nicer restaurants in the area. So forgive me if I am a smidge surprised when we see a barely dressed young girl there seating customers. Pretty bad experience here. Stood 10 minutes waiting for a table while the hostess cleaned tables. Several tables were not cleaned up. We were only second in line and the restaurant was not full. I wish we had just walked away at this point. We got to our table and waited over 15 minutes for our server to greet us and take our drink order. We saw our drinks ready and sitting at the bar but it was not brought to us. 10 minutes later another person brought us our drinks. Then we placed the appetizer order. The shrimp were ok. Had to waste the fish and ate the sides only. When our dinner arrived , I placed an order of shrimp to go. As soon as we finished dinner we were presented with the check never asked if we wanted desert and as predicted, the to go order was forgotten !!! First the good stuff - my daughter and I ordered a chicken dish with goat cheese and artichoke hearts, along with broccoli (well done). The chicken was moist and delicious and the broccoli was indeed well done and pretty derned amazing. Our server (and all staff we encountered) was amazing. We had intended to order rainbow trout, but they had no trout. No trout at a place with a fish logo. We were going to split a bananas Foster for dessert, but only a couple piece of the banana were ripe. The rest was as hard as a plantain. Last, the bathroom was pretty dirty. The toilet was fine, but the stall was dusty and dirty, as was the outer room of the bathroom. Completely disappointed!! The Mahi-mahi was dry, my husband's steak was, as he put it, "the toughest cow I've ever eaten." The spinach was inedible! What in the world do they put in the spinach? 10lbs of garlic? I'm genuinely curious because it was that bad! I liked the steamed broccoli though. Our waitress Shanta H., is the best server we've ever had at any restaurant! She made our first experience at the restaurant a wonderful one! She explained everything thoroughly. She gave wonderful food suggestions that we tried and love. Shanta was very attentive and so friendly. She was so knowledgeable about the dishes and how they were prepared. She gave us information for rewards and how earn points while dining. I even mentioned her quality of service to her manager Brad. Okay so after we retrieved glasses we got water while my parents ordered wine and I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp for our appetizer as planned. After getting the Shrimp and deciding what we wanted to eat , we gave the waitress our order and she was on her way. Dinner time: I ordered the Crab Crusted Alaskan Cod, which was a new item on the menu, so I decided to give it a chance. Alongside the cod i ordered sweet potato mash (deluxe side item) and french fries(Don't judge). My dad ordered filet mignon with potato au gratin and my mom ordered the Carribean Style Mahi Mahi, which was one of the specials. After eating a few bites, my cod was very mediocre, the best part about my meal was the sweet potato mash, which wasn't all that either. My mother complained to me about her mahi mahi being very bland, so I decided to try a piece of hers. It tasted like the GRILL. Nothing more. Nothing less. Also my dad's well done filet mignon was medium well so we had to send it back. Moral of the whole story: If you don't have a reservation DON'T GO. BECAUSE ITS NOT WORTH THE WAIT. After the whole experince, the only thing good we had was the Shrimp. Being that it was an appetizer its sad that this was the best thing there.
