    Fish & Chips

My girlfriend and I dined in this establishment recently. It's a classy atmosphere and the bathrooms were clean. It's part of the Dayton Mall complex but it is not inside the actual mall. Parking was plentiful with handicapped parking right near the front door. We both ordered the Fish and Chips. The restaurant also included an appetizer of focaccia bread with a garlic oil and pesto dip. The appetizer was very good and I really liked the garlic oil and pesto dip. The Fish and Chips order consisted of three good sized portions of fish, french fries, some tartar sauce, and a small cup of coleslaw. The fish was fried very good. It was golden but not greasy. The fries were typical french fries, nothing out of the ordinary, but they were good. The coleslaw was also good. Condiments of ketchup are available for the fries and vinegar for the fish. The dishes arrived with lemon wedges for seasoning the fish. I highly recommend. We both enjoyed our meal, our server was very attentive, and the restaurant has a nice vibe. We also got a takeout order of the Drunken Coconut Pie to go. It came with a cup of rum sauce and another cup of whipped cream. It was very good. It reminded me of coconut macaroons.

We had a reservation but still had to wait a few minutes for our table. Service wasn't bad. Our waiter (JP?) took good care of us all night. Not a fan of the setup in the restaurant. It felt very cramped. The staff had to squeeze around us and other tables. One even accidentally ran to our table. There's just not enough room to navigate inside the dining area the way the tables are set up. Food was ok but not feeling great afterword. Not sure if we will be back anytime soon.

Omg the food was a 10000/10 we started off with the bread and oil that was good! The bang bang shrimp was the best thing of the night! It was so good! Our server Tom H was amazing, he was very attentive had great knowledge of the menu! We will be back to see him! The place wasn't as packed whe we arrived which was a good thing, food came out fast! Drinks were great, they made it so comfortable for us to stay all night!

The staff was friendly and the food had great flavor. That said, with the exception of the bread that came out before the meal, everything was slightly overcooked. I ordered the special of lime cilantro fish with seasonal vegetables. Like I said, great flavor, but both the corn (slightly mushy) and fish were overcooked. The Mrs. ordered the shrimp and scallops. The seafood was good but the pasta was also overcooked. The oil that comes with the bread was 100% perfect. It wasn't too loud in the restaurant, but the waitress spoke loudly. Will we come back and give it another shot? Yes.

I am such a regular at this location that I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review. The bar team is always amazing. Abby in particular is always so gracious and courteous. The food is great and the ambiance is always so welcoming. I definitely recommend visiting this location for a great beverage and dinner.

Bonefish Grill Bonefish is a perennial favorite; and we like this small chain of fish houses. We recommend Bonefish for take away and for restaurant dining. Fresh fish Years ago we learned the delights of Bonefish, and Bonefish chain does a great business. We nearly always order the menu's fresh fish. Dining Five Star Service Four Star Ambience Four Star Bonefish is experiencing post- Covid difficulties; we are having patience as we hope this fish house will soon exhibit higher standards. In our view portion size has decreased, and prices have increased. Always great service and a high vibe ambience. Abundant parking. Caveat: Call for reservations, and specify dining area; bar is loud. The tariff is appropriate for the fare.

Tried the butter Fish with garlic/parm risotto and broccoli and really enjoyed my meal. Service was spot on and the restaurant and restrooms were clean and fresh. Great dining experience would come back in a heartbeat.

Went for a second time and just not that impressed with the food. The waitstaff was amazing as the front of the house.

I liked my blackened fish tacos. The bread was a nice touch but would have preferred side dessert over side of broccoli

For Dayton, not bad. Moderately priced, friendly service. Nothing is terribly impressive or memorable, nor bad.

While the atmosphere was still pleasant, the overall experience has noticeably declined. They took my phone number to text me when the table was ready. But really used it to harass me about a survey after eating. They seated us in the too small for most people booths so I sucked my gut in . The steak arrived as a mystery item as opposed to what I ordered. Our server spoke just enough words to validate herself as human, and not a fembot. Overall, the skyhigh prices weren't in line with the output. The salad was as good as I remember, so was the queso. When I left, I revisited my farting experience.

La Embajada La…read moreEmbajada is an Argentine Steakhouse, mobile kitchen and catering venture in Dayton, Ohio, that specializes in Argentinean, Italian and Spanish cuisine - nearly fine dining. We arranged to arrive ten minutes early in order to converse with Mónica Fabregat. Well worth the planning and effort. Mónica was delighted to learn that we have visited Argentina and experienced the people, cuisine, beauty, and various wineries. I had to ask Monica if she had visited Bariloche. Bariloche is located in the foothills of the Patagonian Andes on the southern shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake, near the border with Chile. Aspen, Colorado, is the most frequent U.S. city comparison for Bariloche due to its shared identity as a premier, upscale mountain resort destination. Both cities are famous for high-end skiing, luxury lodges, and a sophisticated, "ritzy" atmosphere that attracts wealthy international travelers. Beyond Aspen, Bariloche is often compared to other U.S. mountain and outdoor-centric locations for different reasons. Monica explained that "Argentine cuisine is primarily the union of food from our two biggest immigrant populations, Spain and Italy," Throughout the menu, Spanish and Italian influences are easy to spot, from espresso, pastas and flatbreads to empanadas, Argentine sausages and chorizos. La Embajada is a small, nicely decorated, pleasant restaurant - Qualifies as a Date Night with your wife, and my wife greatly approves. Service is excellent. YELP is always a must consult for us, and folks have consistent posted 5 Star reviews. We always take care to download the menu prior to dining. The Dictator Steak caught my eye the previous night, and I asked Monica which steak she recommends. Her reply was the Dictator Steak - a 30 day aged Ribeye. Difficult to find a 30 day aged Ribeye in the Dayton market. Monica then offered a nice Cabernet Sauvignon; I immediately declined and Monica smiled - she then offered a Malbec. Sorry, I forget the label, but very often we order a Malbec rather than a Cabernet Sauvignon. The single flaw (not the restaurant's doing) was the appearance of 14 young parents and very young children without reservations.... Folks do some minimal research - No one suddenly appears at an upscale restaurant in a group this size without reservations. During our three week Overseas Adventure Travel visit, we experienced a winery every day, and we came to favor Malbec. Malbec is a dark, full-bodied red wine grape known for its deep color and rich, fruity flavors like plum and blackberry, with notes of vanilla, cocoa, and tobacco, especially when aged in oak. Originally from France, where it's a key Bordeaux blending grape, it has become the signature grape of Argentina, thriving in high-altitude vineyards and producing wines with soft tannins and balanced acidity, making it a classic pairing for grilled meats like steak. My wife specified the Mixed Grill and the Seafood Bowl; Paella-style rice with shrimp, mussels, calamari and octopus. Of course, our plan was to enjoy "leftovers" at home, and we did. I observed to Monica that often in Buenos Aires steak restaurants place a live fire BBQ with steak in the front window; she knew about this and replied this would violate fire code in US. She observed these were higher priced restaurants for tourist, and I agreed. I found in Buenos Aires, by walking a few blocks, a similar menu was available for 50% less. Caveat: Go to La Embajada as soon as possible and do visit Bariloche when in Argentina.
