This was my first time visiting. After living on the Gulf Coast of Florida for many years and enjoying the fresh seafood there, I'm usually hesitant to visit a chan restaurant that specializes in seafood. With that said I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Bonefish Grill. My wife and I met some friends here for dinner on a Saturday night. We had a reservation at 6:30 and were seated right on time. Drinks and bread came out quickly and we were thankful that our server did not pressure us to order as we sat and talked with our friends for around 30 minutes before ordering our main courses. We did order appetizers about 15 minutes after our arrival. I chose the Chilean Sea Bass with steamed broccoli and potatoes au gratin as my main course and sides. The sea bass was delicious. It was tender and flaky with a nice outer crust and a hint of smoke. I chose the mango salsa as my "sauce" which was sweet and tangy. The potatoes were good and the broccoli was over cooked and mushy. Next time I'll pass on the broccoli and try a different side. Overall, our service was outstanding. As mentioned earlier there was never any pressure to hurry, our server was friendly, efficient, and seemed to check on on us always at the right time. It's good to know that Bonefish Grill is here and offers quality food with stellar service. We'll be back soon for more great experiences. read more

I do like eating at Bonefish but my last time there was not the best. I always love the house salad and the bread. But I can't help but notice that the portion size has gone down and the prices are way up! I got the special which was a butter fish. The fish it self was literally 3 bites with like 10 pieces of fries and some broccoli. That was $30! Our server was awesome and so was the bartender. I almost slipped twice going to the bathroom because the floors were greasy. I do love the special pricing drinks they had before 6pm. read more

We've been here several times over the years. Always ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp. They did not disappoint. However, tonight's experience was odd. No problems with the service, but the rest of the food was off. To be fair, it's the first time I've ordered their Wagyu burger (I had an amazing one at Taft's Ale House in Cincinnati). The burger was over cooked to the point it could have been ground chuck for all I could taste. My daughter ordered the chowder which tasted watered-down, and her pot stickers were cold. I hope this isn't a trend there. I would hate to think this is who they are now. I would grieve the loss. read more

Food was good- service was not. Husband and I enjoyed dinner each having bread, bang bang shrimp, salad, filet steak with broccoli and shared a cheesecake for dessert. Very happy with the food, bread and olive oil is tasty, steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Salad was ok- could use help on the salad but overall food was really good. Service on the other hand was slow. Waiter was nice and we even overheard him telling a coworker that he needs money but if that's the case- he should provide good service for a good tip. We tip well- usually 20% - 25% but not time- we sat for a long time to order after our drinks were provided, food actually is brought out quickly probably bc it is by others but we sat for a long time for refills. Definitely need a drink when eating bang bang shrimp it is just delicious but alittle spicy. Had to request refills each time when he finally came by our table. Then took a long time to bring our card back when we paid. Will be back bc the food was great - we seen another waiter checking on his tables several times- that's a good waiter- hopefully next time we will have better service. read more

The food is very mediocre for the price. We went in at open on a Saturday morning and the floors were disgusting. The whole place seemed to have a sticky residue. The bathrooms were even dirty so they clearly don't have much of a standard when closing down the restaurant at night. Not a place I would go back to. First time visit and definitely will not be the last. Ryan was our waiter, he was helpful, friendly, and on top of everything. My date and I chose to do the $55 deal. It came with an order of Bang Bang shrimp, we both chose an entree and a dessert to share. Let me start with the shrimp. I only wanted it because everyone on here said to get it. GET THE SHRIMP!!!!! I don't even know how to describe it other than an explosive party in your mouth! I am not kidding. It was amazing. So much that we even at the lettuce that it rests on because it had the sauce on it. Were we SUPPOSED to eat it? Who knows. But we did. I ordered the lobster stuffed shrimp. It was very good. It came served on a bed of creamed spinach that was tastey too. My date got the Mahi Mahi it was cooked perfectly and the coconut sauce was very good. His side of mashed potatoes was on the cold side but the flavor was good so he ate them anyway. A manager stopped by to check on us and after letting him know it was our first visit and how much we loved the shrimp he gave us a card for a free shrimp the next time we come to make up for the potatoes. We finished our meal with the macadamia nut brownie with ice cream. It was really good but I'm glad we had to share because we were really full! Adding two drinks brought the bill to $77, which for me is pricey. I don't mind splurging for a pricey meal now and then as long as it's worth it. This place is worth it!!! read more

YAY for Red Lobster being packed and with a 20 minute wait! We were starving and in the mood for seafood. We strolled by this place and although I saw a few couples walk in wearing suits and ties and I was in jeans and a hoodie, we decided to give it a try and pray to God that it was decent and that they didn't make you put on a suit jacket or tie! After reading all the tips and reviews about the "Bang Bang Shrimp", I decided to trust my fellow Yelpers and order that. THANK YOU, YELP. This was the most amazing thing I've ever tried. It was sweet, tangy, spicy, crunchy and soft all in one bite. We ended up ordering two others and spending 27$ on just appetizers. Out of this world delicious. I decided to order the 6 ounce sirloin steak as I was already kind of full from the 3 orders of bang-bang shrimp and although it was tasty and cooked perfectly, it was incredibly small. If this is your only meal and you can pack away the food, order something bigger! It came with fresh green beans (which needed salt and pepper and the pointy ends cut off) and mashed potatoes. All in all, if I wasn't incredibly hungry, I'd order this again. My husband had the pasta and had the salmon added in. He loved the pasta but wasn't a huge fan of the sauce they used which didn't compliment the salmon very well. He would order it again, but would probably have chicken or shrimp added instead. I wouldn't exactly say this place is exactly kid friendly as the place is dark and more set up for an intimate setting but they do offer kid's meals with crayons. They are also free to draw on the brown paper they used for a tablecloth. Although I wish their craft beer selection was bigger and the menu was more extensive, we had a good solid meal here with a friendly, helpful waiter and the bang-bang shrimp was absolutely delectable. We'd choose this again over Red Lobster any day! read more

Come here often for small business dinners 3-5 people and they are always very accomodating. Servers and bartenders are usually attentive and the manager always stops by once or twice to ensure we are enjoying our meal. I think my group likes it, but I can see it being a bit too much sometimes. Bang bang shrimp is always on our bill, sometimes I get it as my entire entree. My favorite dinners are the sea bass or raw ahi tuna steak with any sauces, you really can't go wrong. No doubt I will be back soon! read more

I know this is a chain restaurant, but boy, oh boy, I sure do like one of such high quality. My date had the scallops and shrimp, while I had the chilean sea bass with mango sauce. I would choose chilean sea bass over steak any day and I do love steak. The portions were just right and both dishes were very tasty. Two small issues would be the asparagus just wasn't cooked enough -- too hard to both cut and eat -- and the mango sauce did not really add enough flavor to the dish. But, give me a chilean sea bass done well and I don't care. We ordered the chocolate cream brulee for dessert to share and that was a wise idea as it was rich and decadent. We had lovely service and, even though it was quite packed, we found a table in the bar and were tended to immediately while waiting for our table. Our server was equally attentive. read more

Finally tried this place on a Tuesday evening. The place was empty but it took awhile for anyone to greet us. We enjoyed an appetizer and the complimentary bread/dipping oil. Our food followed pretty quickly, which was the bang bang shrimp tacos (Delicious!) and a Caesar salad with grilled salmon. Very impressed with each dish. Surprisingly the French fries also tasted very yummy, which came with the tacos. Probably one of my new favorite salmon Caesar salads. We look forward to returning and hopefully exploring the whole menu once things change with the COVID regulations. read more

Good competent table service and a nice waitress but some service glitches. The food was decent but absolutely no "wow" factor. Basically they don't seem to try too hard to make the experience special with the menu items. We got an advertised $45 for 2 three course meal. I had rainbow trout, blackened and my wife had a shrimp with a glaze. The trout was bone dry with no moisture apparent, and they provided absolutely no lemons or tartar which I had to ask for separately The side items are very boring: a flavorless "jasmine" rice, fries, whipped potatoes, and a boring side vegetable (broccoli), with premium sides such as a creamed spinach. I ordered a martini and without asking me she brought what I found to be a vodka, not gin martini. Took forever to receive water when we were seated. I guess for $70 for the bill I shouldn't expect anything special because pandemic, pandemic, pandemic, keep repeating it like it is this barrier to making things nice. Phenomenal. Always great drinks, great servers, and stellar food. I always eat the George's Bank Divers scallops. (It is incredible!) My son always orders the Wagyu Beef Burger. Husband will eat anything in the menu. It can get busy. Make a reservation. Best happy hour in a 25 mile radius. Best severs in a fifty mile radius. Manager always comes by table to ask about service and food. Reasonably priced for quality of food. Love this place. read more

I've had takeout several times. The food is low quality compared to in-house eating. Portions are small. The bang bang shrimp is served dry with a tablespoon of sauce on side. The Cheeseburgers are way overpriced when compared to what you get, although this is a fish house so that was expected. The fish taco's were messy. The salad was ok but again not enough dressing so it was rather dry. All experiences with takeout have disappointed and are directly related to food prep, I'm hoping they can fix this. Honestly pretty disappointed with our experience. 1. Waitress brought me the wrong drink. Asked for a Moscow mule and received a mojito. Very good mojito however I wasn't expecting to get that. 2. For main course, we asked for a medium rare steak and the steak was well done. 3. Waitress brought out salmon instead of chicken. I'm not very sure how you can confuse the two but it happened. Had dinner with a friend. Every dish served was impeccable!!! We had post stickers as appetizers, I had Mahi Mahi and shrimp with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Called for carry out order. First person who answered the phone said it will be one hour but they can take the order know. I said that is fine. After listening to music another person came on the phone. I told her that I would like to place a carry out order. She refused to take the order. I told her I can wait an hour or more for pick up the food but she refused to take the order. One hack of a way to provide service to gain customers trust and satisfaction. Will never again visit bone fish grill. My guess is the establishment does not care as is evident from their behavior on my attempt to place an order. Great restaurant! Our waiter was fantastic, super friendly and attentive. The bread that is brought out to you is like Bertucci bread and oil which is good but I have to be honest.. Bertuccis won that war. The entrees were great- the shrimp appetizer was the best, could not get enough!!! In a city like Dayton, there are very few non-franchised restaurants. This can make it difficult on deciding where to eat as most cities have Applebee's and Max & Ermas. Bonefish is another franchise, but a notch above the rest. The decor is nice with a decent bar for watching the games. Unfortunately the bartender messed up my drink order the first time. The food is good with larger portions than most places. The service was ok. Our waiter didn't seem to know much about the food and only sampled a few items. When the food arrived, it all tasted very good and not very expensive. I wouldn't mind going again. read more

My husband and I have had some great meals at Bonefish in years past, but on our most recent visit we were very disappointed the food quality has gone down severely. Like, everything was prepared just like Red Lobster and I'm certain they've changed chefs or just started buying cheap food and using poor service tactics. Our service really wasn't great either, my drink was wrong and our waitress left us for like 15 mins before taking our order. My husband ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with a house salad, I ordered shrimp and scallops with lime tomato sauce and a Caesar salad and our child got a cheeseburger. BFG gets 2 stars for the salads which are still delicious. Served on a chilled plate, generous portions and delicious flavors. My meal was a disaster, the tiny scallops were overcooked and smeared with pesto which I didn't order. The shrimp were also covered in pesto and sat on top of the scallops, making them all a watery, rubbery mess. The meal is served with "seasonal veggies and a choice of one side" so I asked about the veggie and the waitress told me it was cous cous, which isn't a veggie but a grain. I think seafood with cous cous AND potatoes is a bit of a carb-load. We decided to switch from cous cous to broccoli. The broccoli was 100% mushy and microwaves and topped with an extraordinarily salty coating. I love broccoli and I hated this. The potatoes au gratin were scooped from a large spoon (think lunch lady style) and room temperature. At one point, our toddler spilled her water all over the table. The waitress came over and looked at it, mentioned it and didn't bring any napkins or attempt to clean it up. The the manager came over asking "is everything wonderful?!" The walked away without seeing an enormous mess on the table. Then she brought over our bill without offering dessert. Since we were celebrating, we ordered the macadamia nut brownie. It was completely tasteless and microwaved to a searing hot, just molten hot sugar flavor and bland ice cream. I was in town for business and decided to try this place out. It was $5 bang bang shrimp Wednesday, so I was sold. Service was adequate. Nothing special. My server Alicia seemed aloof and less then enthused to serve me or answer questions. Overheard her recommending various entrees and the bang bang shrimp to nearby tables. Not the case for me. No bueno Alicia. This was first and likely last time at BF. You represent BF and first impressions mean everything! The hostesses were very snooty. I didn't really appreciate the attitude because I requested a booth. Ordered the thermidor lobster mahi mahi with Rick shrimp. It was good. The bang bang shrimp were also good, they reminded me of a buffalo wing sauce. I wasn't head over hills about this place, but I suppose for Dayton it was one if the better choices. read more

I had a pretty miserable experience two days before at another BFG in west Chester so I thought I'd give this one another shot Sunday brunch. My wife's sting ray punches er, I mean scallops were overcooked as were my muscles. Both rubbery and dreadful. Seems like the best dishes of the day were the mayonnaise soaked shrimp and the hamburgers. This was a family gathering at my wife's request. This signals the absolutely last time I spend money at a bonefish grill. The only positive note about this or the previous visit was the staff. Your servers are still outstanding but that doesn't make up for your red lobster like quality. For shame. read more

The hubby and I haven't been here in a long time, I can't remember why. My hubby wanted seafood. I was able to make reservations a few days before and I love being able to do that. LOL! We arrived around 7:00p and they were packed(crazy busy)and they seated us within 18-25 minutes I think. We were satisfied with that. Our server was really nice. And really attentive. Awesome. We had the bang bang shrimp to start. It was really good. He had salmon, he said that it was really good. I had fish and chips, the fish actually tasked good.l,The breading was terribly wrong. Thick and gummy. Not good. Good timing, our waitress asked how everything was and I told her, she immediately took it back to the kitchen and asked for another. Great! Very,very soon after she walked away with my fish, the manager stopped by asked how everything was... Lol, great timing, I told him about the fish and that the waitress was taking care of it. He was so nice and speedy. He went back to the kitchen and brought a fresh/new dish of fish and chips. He asked me to try it out. Ugh, I hate that part. I cut into it and it was still gummy(maybe it's the crust, Im not sure). He asked me how it was,I told him,he asked if I wanted a new one, or if I wanted a new dish or whatever. He stated a few! I said, Crab cakes. He went to the kitchen and came out almost immediately and it was really good!I was happy. We left it all sorts of food. Then he/they only chargedfor my hubbies. WOW, I didn't expect that. But im not surprised, they were great. What could if been an unpleasant experience, turned out to be a great meal/time. I totally will be back. If you enjoy seafood, this is the place to go. Swordfish was great, Wolf Fish was even better! If this is your first visit, try the Wolf Fish and get the Bang Bang Shrimp, that's a must. Seating was 20 Mins on a Sat night at 6pm- Not bad. Service was rough at first (Didn't get my drink until after the appetizer) Food- Shrimp Flatbread was GREAT! Good spicy topping- Yummy Yummy shrimp. I got the Ahi Tuna "Tokyo Style"- It tasted just like sushi- Tons of Seasame if you are into that. Ginger and Wasabi to boot.
