I decided to give it one more try since the last time I went was spectacularly bad and I wanted to see if it had any improvements. I actually wasn't going to even do that, but my friend really wanted to try it. I showed her my earlier review and said that was what she was going to get into, but she wanted to give it a shot anyway. Definitely no improvement. Employees are still completely uninformed about the menu, rude, and borderline condescending. Barely any sauce on the chicken, and when I asked for some more sauce, they had the nerve to charge me two dollars for sauce I had never gotten to begin with. Food was either lukewarm or room temperature, no higher. And, every meal we ordered was extremely light on the protein, mostly rice and minimal vegetables. They did just open another branch in the University of DE campus which I am thankful for. I love bonchon but my first experience tonight was being unable to cancel my order (I wanted to cancel and create a delivery order) but cashiers weren't able to... fine, seems like an issue but not the shop's fault. We have our wings in 3 different sauces: Yangyum, Spicy, and Soy garlic. The yangyum sauce was pretty delicious, and the spicy was really spicy. However, the soy garlic was too salty. It was almost inedibale salty. If the cook went a bit easier on the salt, i think these wings would have been perfect. I was there on Tuesday 03/31/2026 I had never been there before, and my daughter wanted to go so bad. Bon Chon is so delicious and flavorful and the chicken has the best crispy outside but juicy chicken meat inside I lived right up the road from a Bon Chon in Columbia, MD and both the WC and MD locations are very consistent with flavors and temperatures of foods My favorite things on the menu are: the spicy wings- either flavor is good though, the calamari, and the kimchi I docked a star because it's really expensive. I decided to leave an updated review since this place has gone downhill and I want them to improve. Last few times I ordered, I noticed there was barely any sauce. When I placed a phone order I asked them to make sure there is enough sauce bc last few times chicken did not have much sauce on it (Korean fried chicken is all about sauce - if there is not enough sauce it is not Korean fried chicken) they charged extra ~$2 and there were still barely any sauce on the chicken (see the photo). I came here for the Korean Fried Wings. The wings were excellent. The battered crust is thick and crispy. The chicken is succulent with a proper level of seasoning. * Update: Visited again and service was stellar. Drool-worthy food + great service = 5 stars. So much closer than the Bonchon in the City so I was stoked to visit. We had the bulgogi fried rice and the 20-piece wings. The wings were perfectly crispy with juicy meat on the inside and tossed in the right amount of sauce. The rice was tasty but overpriced for the portion ($13.95). We'll skip the fried rice next time and get fries or a small side of white rice. The restaurant was surprisingly empty. No more than 3 tables were occupied during our entire visit. I'm sure things will change as this place is brand new to West Chester. One make or break for us is service. Our waiter was - how do I say this - overattentive... if that makes sense? He asked us twice if we needed a box and both times we physically had a chicken wing in our hand. We felt rushed although he picked up on the vibe and apologized and said he wasn't trying to rush us. But this occurred twice. Second, he picked up the paid bill before we left the table. We didn't know this chain in WC but we will be back. We did online ordering for takeout. Easy enough though we went to site instead of using Yelp/Grubhub online. Order was ready when expected and packaged nicely. Orders the Takoyaki (fried octopus dumplings) and while tasty, we're too fishy for me to repeat. But done well. Next the fried shrimp. After an ok meal pre-COVID, the restaurant could not complete an order delivery! The management completely bungled their service. I ordered delivery, from their online menu with DoorDash. I got a phone call that one of the items was not available. They couldn't replace it for a similar item, and they could not process a refund! I asked to speak with a manager, and the poor young student who was on the phone was the only one available but with no power of decision. I LOVE the calamari that you can get from the Chinatown location and the fact that this location doesn't have it on the menu is a huge let down for me as that's one of my main go tos to order. When I asked about it, the server (who was clearly more about watching the Sixers game) said "is that octopus?" No. Then he went on to say that they can put calamari on anything I want and he's sure it's in a lot of the dishes..... I explained how it is its on item on the Chinatown menu but he said they never had it here. (I'll be honest here, this was in the same week that I lost a family member and I just wanted something that I loved to help cheer me up, so I took the void of calamari harder than a normal person would). My partner was also disappointed by the chicken. He said it tasted the same as Chinatown in terms of breading but it wasn't the true Korean fried chicken that he gets in the city. We both agreed that even though this is the same chain, the quality of this location is subpar to the city. It doesn't have the same feel at all. Chinatown has K-Pop blasting to make you deaf, this one quietly had basketball playing and didn't have the same vibe at all. This place is worth a visit. Strangely I had just made Korean fried chicken at home and wanted to try an expert version of the same. We ordered a variety of items and each one was very good. The fried chicken was excellent. Each flavor from the soy version to the traditional was tasty, tender and cooked properly with a crispy exterior. Before our main course we tried dumplings and onion rings. The dumplings were a big hit and the onion rings were good. All in all a great place and we will be back soon Only 4 stars because it's a bit small with cheaper furniture. Don't let that stop you from visiting though!! read more

Really good Korean for this area! The japchae and bulgogi were excellent. Great flavors. We had the octopus appetizer which was interesting. Fried well but the inside was a bit mushy. Service was wonderful but they charged me full price for the japchae instead of the lunch special so definitely emphasize if you're going to lunch. I also ordered the fried chicken combo to go for my coworkers who enjoyed it but said it could use more sauce. I'll definitely be back again! read more

We really enjoy this food, but tonight we ordered delivery and they did not start making our order until an hour after it was placed. We thought it would be delivered in an hour, but we are now going on 1.5 hours since we ordered without food. Also never received a confirmation email or text, so we called & that's how we found out the order was just being made. For a restaurant that charges 3.99 for delivery, I would think there would be more of an emphasis on getting the order to the customer quickly. *** this business does not have delivery, they say they do, but they just hire a doordash driver... so if they cannot find one, they just keep delaying your order until they can find someone. read more
