Tsunami has been our favorite sushi restaurant in West Chester for nearly ten years. We've celebrated countless birthdays here, enjoyed date nights both with and without the kids, and always bring our out-of-town guests whenever they visit. The food is consistently delicious, but what truly makes Tsunami special is the wonderful family who owns it. These are really really generous people here. There is a regular loyal customer base who cherish the owners and workers, and that is for good reason. Even the art featured in the restaurant is crafted by some of the patrons which speaks to significance of the connection people have. This is a spot serving Asian food in Westchester. Perhaps it was poor choices on my part but I opted for the Thai dishes and the sauces/seasoning is just not Thai. We got the pad thai and pad see ew. I guess I should have guessed that this would not be very authentic because I was debating between the drunken noodles and pad see ew and was told that they were the same except that one had spice and the other did not. Another person in our group had the new york teriyaki hibachi. I had a bite and it was better than the Thai dishes, but probably not good enough to make me want to go back. The pluses: Portions are very generous and the service is great. They also offer a lunch menu from Monday through Saturday. The minuses: the Thai dishes have a spin to them and do not taste anything like the dishes they are named after. I was in West Chester, PA, for a special event at the QVC/HSN studios, on Sunday, March 23, 2026. HSN host, Bobbi Ray Carter retired after 43 years, on-air. Lovely live studio audience event. I stayed at The Warner Hotel, which was very pleasant and only 2 blocks from TSUNAMI, my Sushi Lunch Favorite!! (I'm from NYC, so this calm, chill music vibe is much appreciated! ) I recommend TSUNAMI. If I was staying longer, I'd also try some of the Thai food offered here, too. Yesterday, I did see a lovely iced Thai Tea or Thai Coffee, not sure which, but it looked great. Enjoy a meal here. And relax. And, the gelato place almost next door, was enjoyable last night. I was happy this place was open on Christmas when most everything else was closed. Sadly, they didn't offer their weekly lunch special during the holiday so I tried a veggie roll and gyoza. I read reviews for this place before I went and was interested to see what type of experience that I would have. I'm happy to say it was a positive one! This is defenitly a family establishment with children of the staff present but they were quiet and it didn't bother me. The staff was attentive and everything that came out was delicious. They have a decent sized menu + seasonal specials and everything was reasonably priced. The chicken tempura and bang bang shrimp were great starters and all the rolls were fresh and delish! Never a bad time at this BYOB. Servers are great, food is great, all you could ask for. Very accommodating. Got sushi/ sashimi boat for two that came on a boat. The Pad Thai had a great nutty taste with a salty, yet sweet sauce. Was a little dry but I'm glad they included a lime with it because the zesty addition was really nice. I highly recommend getting it with shrimp. The Pad See Ew was my favorite dish. Definitely on the spicier side so be prepared for a kick. Noodles were perfectly thick and the beef was yummy and tender. The Massamam Curry was creamy with the cumin adding an earthy depth to it. The leftovers on this one were even better than the day we ordered it because the chicken had time to marinate. Great sushi spot! I grew up in West Chester and live in Pittsburgh now. Anytime I visit my parents I get takeout from Tsunami. It's always consistent and good quality sushi at a fair price! When my finances reached the point where I couldn't afford Kooma every Friday, I started checkout Chinese restaurants. I tried a few till I landed on Tsunami. In my very first order they gave me an item for free, summer rolls. Markup in restaurants is not great, and they had no idea if I ever would be back. That's class. I've been back since for a couple years. Every time they throw in a freebie, but that's not what captured me. Apart from Peking at Granite Run in the 90's, it was the best Chinese I've ever had, and at a good price. So there's a very cheap parking garage around the corner. It's very popular bc it's so cheap. I thought I'd have to pay $10 to park. Nope. $1.50. Ilike the fact that they bring you water with the paper still on the straw. I had the takoyaki. It was good. Different. More flat on the surface than sphere shaped but I'm here for the taste. Also had drunken noodles. A huge freaking plate of noodles. When it arrived, I thought, there's no way I'm finishing this. I didn't even finish half, which is usually my goal/stopping point. There was just no way. (This is after I just burned 600 calories working out, so yeah, it was a lot of food). There was so much food, I ate it there, as well as for 2 lunch days. Will I be back? Started with seaweed salad which was good but a little moist for my tastes but still good. I had a simple shrimp tempura roll and some smoked salmon sushi. All were fresh and flavorful. Wifey had a special roll with tune and lobster which was big, almost more than a mouthful per slice, but really good. But the star of this visit was the orange chicken my daughter got. I guess I've always been intimidated by the parking situation, and figured Michi Sushi is closer to me and has a parking lot. The noodle soup was pretty mild in flavor, I think it could have had more taste to it. The drunken noodles were good and the perfect amount of spicy in my opinion. We also got bubble tea which came in fancy wine-like glasses. The kids I were with thought it was so cool. The bubbles were also a great texture, which means they were fresh - as boba has a short lifespan of 4 hours max.
