Ordered 10 wings with half Yangnyeom sauce and half Korean BBQ sauce. Honestly, I couldn't really taste the difference between the two sauces and though they're listed as being mildly spicy, they really were not spicy at all. Otherwise, they were pretty standard wings. We also got the Bulgogi fries which were very good. Crispy fries + cheese + beef. What is there not to like?!
We went for lunch on a Monday, it wasn't too busy when we got there but ended up getting really busy shortly after. I like that it was clean & modern specially for being fast food. We just ordered Korean wings & spicy wings. I'll have to say, it tasted much better eaten fresh verses taking it togo. It was very flavorful & crispy. Bulgogi fries were good, I could've done with the sauce on the side. But we enjoyed it.
Lets talk; This is not fancy. Walk up and order. Have a nice menu. Nothing is GF. I say nothing, but the rice, edamame, moche and etc, are. Don't expect to get wings. Why a five star? Because they CARE! When I started looking over the menu and asking questions they really dug deep and really cared about what I was ordering . I ordered. They placed the order then came back with the chili sauce they cook with and showed me it had wheat! So they changed my order to give me something good and savory. The kimchi was great and the radish! Definitely worth a try just know if your GF its a little harder to order.
Finally made it out to Smyrna for Korean fried chicken. I've had a couple pieces from Bonchon before, but this was my first visit because it's so far from my house. It was the perfect Friday night meal after a long week. I ordered the 10 piece meal and went for half and half sauces. I was hesitant to try the soy garlic but it was my favorite between that and Korean BBQ. I'll be back to try Korean dishes from their menu.
You order at the counter, seat yourself, and they bring you your food. Food came out very fast (although when we went it wasn't very busy), and the staff are pleasant. We got the 8 piece tenders, half soy garlic and half Korean bbq. Both pretty salty, but tasty. I preferred the soy garlic. The tenders were a bit on the small side for the price. It came with a side, a very small cup of either cole slaw or pickled radish. The radish was sweet and tart. I wish there was more with it. We will be back to try some other dishes.

Lunch special 11.95 11am-3pm Korean street corn- 4/5 5 strips combo w/ garlic parm fries- 5/5 the chicken is more like Pattie's rather than strips 3 drumstick combo w/fries- 5/5 Bulgogi rice- 4/5 Kimchi- 2/5 I give this a 2 because I would rather have spicy kimchi than sweet kimchi I really wanted to try the Korean donuts, but their truck hadn't arrived with inventory. If you're in the area give them a try.
Was looking for some new and fresh and seen this on Yelp. Pictures looked good so I packed up the family and and few friends and headed to Smyrna. Arrived the place was packed , as all new places are. So as I stood in line the family scouted a table. The place is tiny and not very good for a party of 6 or more. Most of us ordered the Korean chicken with the exception of my wife who ordered the tacos. The girl taking the order was really sweet and nice. Waited for food and it was like the twilight zone.. our food took for forever. My wife had to ask 3 times and in an hour her tacos were not available for her. We have long finished our meal. The employees became rude ... so nice coming in after spending $135.00 they get rude when you want your food. First impression says I won't be back .
Stopped in Smyrna today to give Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken a try. I love Korean delicacies...especially Korean Fried Chicken. My server was Rachel and she is an absolute sweetheart. She took the time to give me an overview of the menu, what she liked, and we also talked about the Murfreesboro location. I decided on the lunch special of Five Chicken Strips (2 plain/no sauce and 3 Soy Garlic), a side of Wasabi/Ranch dipping sauce, and Pickled Radishes as a side. All of this plus a fountain beverage for $11.95 wasn't a bad deal. My order was To Go and came out faster than I could fill my soda cup. I wanted to try some plain without any of the brushed on sauces and do some dipping. The Wasabi/Ranch sauce is good, mild, no real spice or heat. I also dipped in Blue Cheese and Ranch and liked those better. The Soy Garlic was delicious and had good flavor, no heat. I must admit...the pickled radishes are very "pungent" BUT are so darn good. I've never had Stubborn Soda before...the Root Beer is really good and reminded me of old school A&W Root Beer. Overall good chicken, nice flavor, and the service from Rachel was 5-Stars!
I was excited to try Bonchon, but not so much when I opened the box and found a piece of metal! The wings were all flaps. I was not aware of that. I thought it would be a mixture. Yes, I saw the menu has drumsticks but I was thinking of the actual large drumsticks. Kinda misleading since everywhere when you order wings, it's a combination of both flaps and drummies. The sauce on wings is non existent, they should be drenched and they were barely dipped. We got the boneless wings which were super tiny in size and very well overpriced. $1.37 for a boneless wing with barely any sauce, no thanks. Also, I found a piece of metal fried into my wings. How did the cooks missed this? I mean it's shiny metal!!! I hope they bring a K.BBQ to middle TN, because it's just a million times better then Bonchon. Just overall. Huge disappointment. I'm aware they just opened so maybe they need a little retraining but common. The metal in the chicken. Smh.
After trying this in the bigger cities such as Chicago, I was so excited to finally have one of these in middle TN! Parking is easy in the shopping center lot out front. This is a fast/casual place where you order at the counter & then sit down. Lots of people came in for takeout orders. We got the 10 piece soy garlic tenders with a shareable seasoned fries, Japanese mayo, & spicy mayo. I'm pretty sure they changed the style of the chicken tenders since I previously visited at the Chicago location, but I felt the size & quality was still good with these. The chicken was fried nicely & had that perfect crisp & crunch you'd expect with quality KFC while still moist on the inside. Fries were piping hot & seasoned well. Only complaint is that we noticed right before leaving that the menu stated "complimentary side of pickled radish or coleslaw" with our chicken which we didn't get. Not sure if we're supposed to ask (I don't remember having to ask at the other location) or if they were out or just forgot. Anyway, not a big deal since we were full at that point anyways. Wish this was closer to Nashville but definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

I was super excited when I heard we were getting Korean wings here in middle TN. I literally waited and waited for them to open lol. Parking can get packed here. It's in a small plaza with limited parking. Luckily we found a spot to park at in the back. We pretty much just walked up to the counter, ordered our food, and once our food was done, they called our names out. It was super busy since they just opened, but I felt that the tech time was really good considering how busy they were. I went ahead and just made my wing order a meal for only a few dollars more. They ran out of ice, straws, and lids for the cup at their little drink station. When I went to use the restroom, there was also no toilet paper. We got there not too late, too. We went on a Saturday, which they close at 10, but we got there before 6pm. Not sure if they will restock items during the day, but they were out when we got there. They were also out of pickled radish (sad cause I really wanted some) that was supposed to come with the wings, so we got the cole slaw instead. Food wise: the wings itself, wasn't bad. It wasn't too over cooked or undercooked. I requested them to fry some with no sauce (plain) and also tried the half and half. The sauces weren't bad, either. I liked the spicy flavor the most.
Fabulous Korean fried chicken and dumplings! You have to get the seasoned fries. The inside is simple and ideal for quick service. Staff are happy to answer questions about anything you're not familiar with. read more

After a few unsuccessful attempts to find good Asian food in Smyrna, we decided to give Bonchon a try. I had been to a Bonchon chain in California before, so I thought this would be a safe bet. I entered the restaurant with low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu. They now offer more than three flavors of fried chicken, including regular crunch, soy garlic, spicy, yangnyeom, and Korean BBQ. Here's what we ordered: * Large Drumsticks ($27.99): Half soy garlic, half spicy * Japchae ($15.99) We were disappointed to find that the tteokbokki was out at 6 pm, so we opted for japchae instead. The noodles were chewy, but they were overly salty and had a distinctly teriyaki flavor, with the sesame oil barely noticeable. The pickled radish was equally disappointing; it was quite bland and lacked any tartness. The spicy wing sauce, which they claim is their spiciest, was surprisingly mild as well. The service was decent and mostly self-service. You place your order at the front and receive a number to bring to your table. The food is delivered to your table, and when you're done, you dispose of your own trash and stack the trays. Drinks and utensils are available by the cashier. Overall, Bonchon was just OK. The chicken was alright, nothing special. For TN, I'd give it a 4 stars. If we were in ATL, it's a 3 for me. read more

Great fast causal dinning option. Nice staff. The soy garlic wings were incredibly crunchy. The bulgogi fries had a great flavor with crisp fries, but some of the pieces of beef were chewy and difficult to eat. The floor was sticky all in the seating area. read more

The food was delicious, really impressed by both meals. The fountain machine had a unique cream soda and root beer on it that my boyfriend enjoyed. Service was fast but it was slow at the time. It's your typical fast food lobby as far as seating goes, the utensil station was out of everything except for knives. I ordered 30 wings to go, which is plenty for 4 people. I loved the soy garlic sauce, but the spicy sauce was indeed spicy!!!! Our fries came soggy and were a little too salty. I did like the radish pickles that come with the wings though. read more

Visited May 4, 2023. This place is a fast casual Korean Fried Chicken restaurant located in Smyrna, TN. I've dined in 3x and have ordered take out quite a bit. This place varies from 4-5 stars to be honest, with my recent visit being 5 stars. Everything ordered today was perfect and the service is great. I did not come during rush hour so the food came out super fast! The dining space is large enough for many small groups but maybe not a huge group unless you're okay to be separated. The menu is has a good variety of options but not overwhelming. I ordered the 6pc wings half spicy/ half soy garlic. It was delicious and crispy as it should! Also ordered and tasty were the Loaded Bulgogi Fries, Veg Pot stickers, and Japchae. I've been to many bon chons out of state and very happy we now have one in the greater Nashville area. Prices Average about $10+, I would anticipate spending $20 a person. The parking lot is shared among other local shops so there's plenty in front and rear. read more

Tasty Korean street food experience. I got the dumplings and bone-in wings. Both half soy garlic and half spicy. The soy garlic was very unique. The spicy was flavorful and had a hidden heat that was strong but not overpowering. The wings had an awesome crunch to them and a decent amount of meat inside. The dumplings had a perfect sear to them. My friend got the bulgogi fries, which I tried. The fries were the right crispiness, and the bulgogi was delicious and just the right amount of sweet. The rice and cheese were just a lovely bonus. read more

Tried Bonchon for lunch the past weekend! It was very good. I got the strips and my husband got the boneless wings. The strips were good, my husband said he probably wouldn't order boneless again. I got half plain for the kids and the other half garlic soy. They ended up liking the garlic soy so mama got to eat the plain! My husband got half garlic soy and half spicy. He enjoyed both styles! They have so many options that aren't just chicken that we are excited to try! Very different but so good! read more
Food was great. The spicy is spicy! It's funny because the cashier mentioned to me that it's not as spicy as it used to be and that definitely is scary because it's like fire on a chicken wing however it was still very tasty. I had great customer service and the dining area was very clean. It was a full house and it wasn't very loud. In fact the loudest people were the girls working up front. They were laughing and talking nonstop but they're teenagers. And the place was nice. I ordered KFC half and half, pot stickers and bulgogi fried rice. I really wished the had a pot sticker sauce of some sort but other than that food was great! read more

I am a big Bonchon fan and have been SOOOOO excited about their opening. I was a little (okay a lot) disappointed in this visit but I'm chalking it up to them just getting the hang of things and look forward to visiting again soon and having the Bonchon experience I'm used to! The wait was an hour for our food and we received it in about 45 minutes, however when we got it, the chicken was cold and the pieces were small - much smaller than other Bonchon I've had. The presentation wasn't great. But like I said - they had just opened and I'm sure it was just new kinks and I know it'll be better soon! read more
Before I heard of Bonchon I had seen different post about Korean fried chicken and didn't understand what was so different about it. Then I tried Bonchon!!!! And now I understand! First the crunch is amazing! Every bite is crunch and flavorful. The soy garlic is hard to explain but it's a little sweet and sticky flavor and is really good. The spicy is not for the weak. It has a good kick to it. The fried rice was amazing. I will definitely be back and this place lives up to the hype is getting!!!! read more

I ordered Bonchon for take-out on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at around 5 pm. I was very excited that Bonchon has opened a location in the Nashville area because I think Korean style wings can be better than Nashville hot wings. First impressions... when I came in to pick up my order, there was already a long line immediately when you walked in. They're definitely busy, as expected! I skipped to the front of the line to pick up my order, which didn't take long. But they seemed disorganized when it comes to paying for the take-out because I was skipped and they took someone's order ahead of me. I shouldn't have to wait for someone to place their order before me when I just needed to pay for my take-out. This location is a fast food style compared to other restaurant style where you sit first/order later. Overall, they looked like they were pretty well-staffed and prepared for the opening hype, just somewhat disorganized. Of course, first days of opening, it's not going to be perfect. I ordered a 20 piece wing with half soy garlic and half spicy. I anticipated some of the wings won't be as crispy because it's to-go and have been sitting in the box for a while. However, the wings didn't look like they have been glazed with the sauce evenly enough, so the wings were somewhat dry. The wings were also smaller compared to wings I've had in other Bonchon locations. I think this Bonchon has potential to be great. Just needs to work out some minor inconsistencies with the wings and service could improve so that people shouldn't have to wait as long to pay for their take-outs. read more
