Bulgogi Fries
Jennifer H.

Ordered 10 wings with half Yangnyeom sauce and half Korean BBQ sauce. Honestly, I couldn't really taste the difference between the two sauces and though they're listed as being mildly spicy, they really were not spicy at all. Otherwise, they were pretty standard wings. We also got the Bulgogi fries which were very good. Crispy fries + cheese + beef. What is there not to like?!

Korean wings , spicy wings & Bulgogi Fries.

We went for lunch on a Monday, it wasn't too busy when we got there but ended up getting really busy shortly after. I like that it was clean & modern specially for being fast food. We just ordered Korean wings & spicy wings. I'll have to say, it tasted much better eaten fresh verses taking it togo. It was very flavorful & crispy. Bulgogi fries were good, I could've done with the sauce on the side. But we enjoyed it.

Lets talk; This is not fancy. Walk up and order. Have a nice menu. Nothing is GF. I say nothing, but the rice, edamame, moche and etc, are. Don't expect to get wings. Why a five star? Because they CARE! When I started looking over the menu and asking questions they really dug deep and really cared about what I was ordering . I ordered. They placed the order then came back with the chili sauce they cook with and showed me it had wheat! So they changed my order to give me something good and savory. The kimchi was great and the radish! Definitely worth a try just know if your GF its a little harder to order.

Soy Garlic and Korean BBQ Wings and coleslaw

Finally made it out to Smyrna for Korean fried chicken. I've had a couple pieces from Bonchon before, but this was my first visit because it's so far from my house. It was the perfect Friday night meal after a long week. I ordered the 10 piece meal and went for half and half sauces. I was hesitant to try the soy garlic but it was my favorite between that and Korean BBQ. I'll be back to try Korean dishes from their menu.

Tenders - Korean bbq on left, soy garlic on right

You order at the counter, seat yourself, and they bring you your food. Food came out very fast (although when we went it wasn't very busy), and the staff are pleasant. We got the 8 piece tenders, half soy garlic and half Korean bbq. Both pretty salty, but tasty. I preferred the soy garlic. The tenders were a bit on the small side for the price. It came with a side, a very small cup of either cole slaw or pickled radish. The radish was sweet and tart. I wish there was more with it. We will be back to try some other dishes.

Great food and service, food was very fresh!

nice establishment, order at the counter and then seat yourself. This would be a nice little spot to grab lunch. All the employees here were very attentive. Lunch special 11.95 11am-3pm Korean street corn- 4/5 5 strips combo w/ garlic parm fries- 5/5 the chicken is more like Pattie's rather than strips 3 drumstick combo w/fries- 5/5 Bulgogi rice- 4/5 Kimchi- 2/5 I give this a 2 because I would rather have spicy kimchi than sweet kimchi I really wanted to try the Korean donuts, but their truck hadn't arrived with inventory. If you're in the area give them a try.

Was looking for some new and fresh and seen this on Yelp. Pictures looked good so I packed up the family and and few friends and headed to Smyrna. Arrived the place was packed , as all new places are. So as I stood in line the family scouted a table. The place is tiny and not very good for a party of 6 or more. Most of us ordered the Korean chicken with the exception of my wife who ordered the tacos. The girl taking the order was really sweet and nice. Waited for food and it was like the twilight zone.. our food took for forever. My wife had to ask 3 times and in an hour her tacos were not available for her. We have long finished our meal. The employees became rude ... so nice coming in after spending $135.00 they get rude when you want your food. First impression says I won't be back .

Stopped in Smyrna today to give Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken a try. I love Korean delicacies...especially Korean Fried Chicken. My server was Rachel and she is an absolute sweetheart. She took the time to give me an overview of the menu, what she liked, and we also talked about the Murfreesboro location. I decided on the lunch special of Five Chicken Strips (2 plain/no sauce and 3 Soy Garlic), a side of Wasabi/Ranch dipping sauce, and Pickled Radishes as a side. All of this plus a fountain beverage for $11.95 wasn't a bad deal. My order was To Go and came out faster than I could fill my soda cup. I wanted to try some plain without any of the brushed on sauces and do some dipping. The Wasabi/Ranch sauce is good, mild, no real spice or heat. I also dipped in Blue Cheese and Ranch and liked those better. The Soy Garlic was delicious and had good flavor, no heat. I must admit...the pickled radishes are very "pungent" BUT are so darn good. I've never had Stubborn Soda before...the Root Beer is really good and reminded me of old school A&W Root Beer. Overall good chicken, nice flavor, and the service from Rachel was 5-Stars!

Where's the sauce?

I was excited to try Bonchon, but not so much when I opened the box and found a piece of metal! The wings were all flaps. I was not aware of that. I thought it would be a mixture. Yes, I saw the menu has drumsticks but I was thinking of the actual large drumsticks. Kinda misleading since everywhere when you order wings, it's a combination of both flaps and drummies. The sauce on wings is non existent, they should be drenched and they were barely dipped. We got the boneless wings which were super tiny in size and very well overpriced. $1.37 for a boneless wing with barely any sauce, no thanks. Also, I found a piece of metal fried into my wings. How did the cooks missed this? I mean it's shiny metal!!! I hope they bring a K.BBQ to middle TN, because it's just a million times better then Bonchon. Just overall. Huge disappointment. I'm aware they just opened so maybe they need a little retraining but common. The metal in the chicken. Smh.

10 pc Soy Garlic tenders with spicy & Japanese mayo.

After trying this in the bigger cities such as Chicago, I was so excited to finally have one of these in middle TN! Parking is easy in the shopping center lot out front. This is a fast/casual place where you order at the counter & then sit down. Lots of people came in for takeout orders. We got the 10 piece soy garlic tenders with a shareable seasoned fries, Japanese mayo, & spicy mayo. I'm pretty sure they changed the style of the chicken tenders since I previously visited at the Chicago location, but I felt the size & quality was still good with these. The chicken was fried nicely & had that perfect crisp & crunch you'd expect with quality KFC while still moist on the inside. Fries were piping hot & seasoned well. Only complaint is that we noticed right before leaving that the menu stated "complimentary side of pickled radish or coleslaw" with our chicken which we didn't get. Not sure if we're supposed to ask (I don't remember having to ask at the other location) or if they were out or just forgot. Anyway, not a big deal since we were full at that point anyways. Wish this was closer to Nashville but definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

I requested plain wings just to try it
Thommy S.

As of right now, I'll have to say mediocre. I'll have to try it again since it's still so new here and my rating may change later. I was super excited when I heard we were getting Korean wings here in middle TN. I literally waited and waited for them to open lol. Parking can get packed here. It's in a small plaza with limited parking. Luckily we found a spot to park at in the back. We pretty much just walked up to the counter, ordered our food, and once our food was done, they called our names out. It was super busy since they just opened, but I felt that the tech time was really good considering how busy they were. I went ahead and just made my wing order a meal for only a few dollars more. They ran out of ice, straws, and lids for the cup at their little drink station. When I went to use the restroom, there was also no toilet paper. We got there not too late, too. We went on a Saturday, which they close at 10, but we got there before 6pm. Not sure if they will restock items during the day, but they were out when we got there. They were also out of pickled radish (sad cause I really wanted some) that was supposed to come with the wings, so we got the cole slaw instead. Food wise: the wings itself, wasn't bad. It wasn't too over cooked or undercooked. I requested them to fry some with no sauce (plain) and also tried the half and half. The sauces weren't bad, either. I liked the spicy flavor the most.

Soy garlic wings

Great fast causal dinning option. Nice staff. The soy garlic wings were incredibly crunchy. The bulgogi fries had a great flavor with crisp fries, but some of the pieces of beef were chewy and difficult to eat. The floor was sticky all in the seating area.

The website stated they had lunch specials which didn't appear on the menu. I asked about it and the server retrieved the lunch menu which had a number of choices priced at $10.99 each. I had the Soft Tofu soup and chose seafood as my protein. While waiting for my entree they brought to me 4 delicious ban chan dishes - broccoli lightly seasoned with sesame, kim chi, a delicious warm potato dish, and a macaroni salad. There were very generous portions of each. When my entre arrived - a bowl of rice and boiling hot soup I cracked an egg into it so it could cook while I enjoyed the rice and side dishes. I often order this dish at other Korean restaurants, and this was the most flavorful soup I've had, with plenty of tofu and some seafood. There was so much food I had to take some home and had it for dinner. I felt it was a bargain to have 2 meals for $10.99. The menu showed that the restaurant also offers tables with grills so you can have that experience, but it requires minimum of 2 diners, and not part of the lunch menu. I will be returning to the restaurant for lunch and may try the grill option when I'm not dining solo. I recommend this place.

The banchan (side dishes) were all good, and I enjoyed the variety they brought to the table. Overall, service was good & attentive and the atmosphere was relaxing and food was decent.

When we got there, the waitress was initially confused and thought they didn't have it available, but she quickly rechecked after we mentioned it was why we came and they made it happen for us - and I'm so glad they did. The short ribs were stewed to perfection: fall-off-the-bone tender. The sauce had pineapple which gave some unexpected sweetness but overall satisfied our craving! We also ordered the following dishes: -Jjajangmyeon: we all enjoyed these chewy noodles with black bean paste. -bulgogi fried rice: a forgettable dish but scratches the itch if you're in the mood for fried rice. I packed some leftovers for lunch and added a large squirt of sriracha to the top to spice it up. Cheeseling korean fried chicken wings: I'd come back for these wings over and over again. So crispy and juicy with every bite. The cheese powder was a unique flavor and I loved the savory dipping sauce it comes with. -banchan: solid kimchi and daikon, but we were thrown off by the mac salad. Overall i wish this place had a little more spice in the dishes or at least had a bottle of gochujang that I could add in to my liking at the table. We will come back to see what all the hype is about for the BBQ.

For a first-time visit, it blew our expectations out of the water. This isn't just great "local" food; it's some of the best Korean BBQ and soul food I've had in the Nashville area. The Experience & Service: The first thing you notice is how incredibly welcoming the atmosphere is. The woman running the floor (who I believe is the owner) was super friendly and attentive--she really went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. It's a very kid-friendly environment, which made our family dinner so much more relaxed. The Food (A Total Feast): * The Galbi: This was the star of the show. The meat was so tender and perfectly marinated that my 4-year-old was obsessed! We had to keep refilling his plate because he couldn't get enough. * Seafood Soondubu (Soft Tofu Soup): This was a huge surprise. The broth was rich, spicy, and packed with flavor--honestly better than the versions I get at my "regular" spots. * Korean Fried Chicken Wings: We tried the hot fried wings, and the flavor was spot on. Just a heads up--the wings are huge! You definitely get your money's worth here. * The Banchan (Side Dishes): I love that they aren't stingy with the sides. They gave us a generous amount of fresh, delicious banchan and were happy to refill, which is always the sign of a top-tier Korean restaurant. The Verdict: I'm thrilled to have a spot this good so close to home. Between the high-quality meats and the warm hospitality, we will definitely be frequenting this place. If you've been driving by like I was--stop in! It's worth every penny.

Once our table was ready, we were seated at the door with a 1/2 table but it worked since it was just three of us. If I returned I'd want to do a full table as it was difficult to cook and talk to each other at a half table. There are tons of raw meat, veggie, seafood, noodles, rice options to grill or add to your hot pot. Along with sushi and desserts. Everything I had was good except the sushi which was bland and tasted like it sat out for hours. I also wish it wasn't buffet style with so many hands touching everything. Plus the plates were stored beneath the food and were hard to reach. I stood most of the time to cook because of the table set up. I'm not sure how others did it but I had to go get clean plates to place my food on after cooking because I refused to put cooked food on a plate with formerly raw meat. There also needs to be clean bowls available for finished hot pot food. I had to use the ramen bowl I had from the conveyor belt. Speaking of the conveyor belt, I'm confused about its point an only one person at our table could reach it. Things were not labeled and the majority were available on the buffet. My niece enjoyed herself so that's what really mattered. However, she's the one that gave it 3 stars so not the best or her favorite but also not bad. I will say (and I never mentioned this to my niece because I didn't want to ruin the evening) that I used the restroom and while washing my hands saw one of the workers use the restroom and never wash her hands!
