Delicious! I'm a huge fan of the spicy chicken strips and this spot always has the best ones. I'm not a huge fan of Korean chicken, but Bonchon and this location in specific is deff my favorite. We came in Friday at 6PM and it was quite empty, which I was happy about! Our food came out quickly and service was phenomenal. It was a Monday evening around 7 pm & it took 30 minutes to get our order. It had been a busy night with a large party of around 6, plus 2 other tables & ours. Other than the wait time, the service was outstanding from Thomas. He was very cordial & respectful towards us asking us if we needed extra soy sauce, water, napkins,etc. & what impressed me was his sincere manner of making sure we were satisfied customers. Now what was ordered was the: - 24 piece boneless soy sauce chicken (which was really crispy, meaty & moist) -Bibimbap w.Spicy Chicken (the clay pot rice was amazing, there were slices of carrot, daikon, kimchee, & mushroom) along w.the chicken & sauce. Other than the crispy rice from the sizzling clay pot, the Bibimbap didn't have any flavor other than adding the sauce that was in a small container. Maybe the Bulgogi Bibimbap would have had more flavor, so next time, I'll give that one a try. -Seasoned Fries ( it had a strong Parmesan cheese aroma, which at 1st seems over-whelming, but once the heat subsides the aroma isn't as strong. I just ate here today after going to the San Leandro cherry festival. I ordered at the front counter since there was a large sign that said "order and pay here". The older man didn't address me as I was looking at the menu posted at the front, but I said "I'm ready to order" and told him what I wanted (bibimbap, and confirmed there was kimchi on top). At no point was I asked "take our or dine-in?", but I assumed he knew I wanted to dine in bc I ordered at the counter (NOT via instructions at the "pickup" station), and sat down in the dining room. A few minutes later, a younger server handed me my food in a to-go bag, with no utensils or napkins. I looked at him confused and tried to get my food out to eat in the table I was sitting at. The server politely offered me silverware and a napkin and I started to eat after thanking him. However a few moments later, the older man who took my order (Soo) rudely came up to me and started lecturing me about "no dining in". I looked up at him so confused, as never once did he ask me about dine in or take out, nor was there a sign that said the restaurant is takeout only (there were two other older Caucasian parties dining-in at the time). After I asked him what he was talking about, he lectured me the same thing several times and said "just this once I will let you, just this once I will let you". Wtf.... I finished eating the food, because I was hungry, but tbh it was mediocre and the lecturing attitude of "Soo" (bald older man) also ruined my experience there. Attached is photographic proof there was no "takeout order" on my receipt, and that even if I wanted to dine-in after asking for takeout, this is a pretty rude policy. Bonchon youuuuuu! My favorite. When i'm ever in San Leandro I have to have it. We ordered potstickers half spicy half garlic (beware: spicy is HOT! garlic is good!) I loved the spicy ones more. Chicken fried rice with extra green onions. So good and flavorful. Mini sliders (I wasn't a fan, only because I do not like coleslaw!) my boyfriend definitely enjoyed them! He ate em allll! Plus some of my rice lol. I can't forget the seasoned fries... my god! Especially fresh!!!!!! They actually taste like potatoes and they are seasoned to perfection. Went here twice in the last week because it is so good. Really liked the soy garlic wings and the flavor is on point. I also love the garlic Parmesan fries. I think the fact that the wings here are similar to Wingstop, where they are small pieces, the chicken tends to hold the flavor a bit more and doesn't dry out. Not only does this place sell chicken, they sell great main dishes on the menu! Loved their japchae and tteokbokki-- I thought it goes so well with their chicken. Their soy garlic is AMAZING but also love the fact that their spicy chicken is actually spicy-- but delicious. So if you aren't a fan of foods that aren't super spicy, this might not be the place for you. I would really love to get more of the pickled radish as it breaks down the oiliness of it all, but still Korean fried chicken will always remain as one of my forever faves. read more

Just ordered food from this location on door dash once I received my food it was ice cold and no sauce on the chicken and my wife's bulgogi was un fit to eat, it was more of a stew and flavorless. I called this location and spoke with a manager but was told they use a "standard" amount of sauce I offered to bring the food back for a refund but the manager denied a refund. Very unprofessional and was getting a disgusting tone over the phone and said there is nothing he can do. for 100$ of almost no food I expect ok food and ok service but this place lacks the basic standards I get better service from jack in the box and that says a lot. First time eating at Bonchon. When my friends, wife and I first walked in they take our temperature. Because of Covid we got to sit 6 feet apart. The food was delicious. Their seasoned fries was not even salty, the seasoning was perfect not even salty. I got the bulgogi wrap and they didn't over do with the sauce. My friend got the spicy chicken strip. The spicy chicken strip was crispy with a little kick of spice. Never heard of this place until today while I was browsing DoorDash. The food looked and sounded pretty good so I gave it a go. I ordered the 24pc Boneless wings, The Korean tacos with Bulgogi, the Popcorn shrimp and the Pork buns. Let me start off by saying the place is very pricey. I figured with these prices that it had to be amazingly good. With the boneless wings I did the half/half with Soy Garlic and Korean Bbq sauces. They do not come with dips. The chicken was good with the soy garlic ones getting the slight edge. They weren't very saucy though. Like not at all. They weren't dry though either if that makes sense. They also give you a small (very small) complimentary coleslaw with it. The popcorn shrimp was my pretty good and they give you a decent amount. Only one dip though so I had to pay for another one. The dip was ok but I didn't really care for it. It was a Spicy Mayo flavor. The Korean tacos weren't bad but for $17 you think they'd have put more bulgogi in them. I could only taste lettuce, sauce and coleslaw. Was very disappointed with those. Lastly the Pork buns tasted good but the pork belly itself was hard. Had the meat been tender I'm sure they would have been amazing. The food is not bad by any means but definitely not worth the $80 I spent. Not sure if I would go back again. I love Bonchon! It's the best American-Korean fusion franchise. They are quick and they never mess up an order.

I remember when they first opened I was so excited to experience the food. The rice was excellent with bogogi meat. I was empress with the portion size. I did not have to dig for pieces of meat. I love the chicken wings brushed with their signature sauce, very pleasantly appetizing, but let me compliment the Japchae, the dish is delightful, the vermicelli noodles great mixed with bogogi meat. My only complaint now is as prices have gone up but the portions have decreased. Getting less for more. The pork bun sliders are a delicacy, mouth watering and prepare with so much finger licking goodness. Now I have to compliment their Korean tacos and potsticker, they are prepare in what I would consider traditionally with a personal signature touch. I can't brag enough on the taste, so yummy. The restaurant is decorated so tastefully, not to ostentatious, done well with a bar for extra seating. Great as an after work spot to relax, have a drink and great meal. I can say the staff are polite and efficient, they get it right. I have never had to send a dish back. Finger snaps to the restaurant just hate inflation caused the portions to shrink a bit but still a favorite place to dine! read more

Best of all the chicken was juicy and the oil fresh Now all I can say is that the soy garlic flavor remains consistent, however the spicy is not as good anymore. Unfortunately most pieces taste old/dry and the oil tastes burnt/reused for the last 4 times I ordered, my parents and guests have commented on it. My first time here and the second time I've picked up Bonchon. My clients own the Pleasanton store and I decided to pick up dinner for my son. Nice COVID-19 precautions and a very helpful guy to take my order. I got the 1/2 Spicy and 1/2 Soy 20 pcs. I tried one of each when I got home. The flat (double bone) wings had the tip still on. Fine. They were a bit dry and the spicy really wasn't spicy at all. Wasn't very hot either. I only live 10 minute away. Maybe it has been under the heat lamp. I dunno. I gave the store 3 stars. I use to love this spot. I haven't gotten food here for about half a yr or so. The portion sizes got smaller drastically. I ordered a bundle supposedly enough for 4-6 people. I got ONE cup of radish which use to come for free (up to 2 cups depending your order size) but is now considered a side. The fried rice use to come in those big flat plastic container box (like panda express) for takeouts and is now replaced by a small brown box. I ordered soy and k bbq flavor and honestly cannot tell the difference. They're not as crunchy and fresh as they use to taste. Order comes with 6 big drumsticks (the size that all pieces use to be pre covid), 12 mix of wings and drummettes, and 2 sides for $39.99. Very disappointing! I was curious about this place and read through the reviews. I initially said no because of some of the reviews, but then decided to give them a chance. I legitimately wish I hadn't. I ordered to go and arrived a couple minutes after the restaurant notified me the order was finished. I went to pick up my order, the server handed it to me and walked away without a word as I was saying thank you. I dismissed them as just being busy even though I felt put off. I got to my office and opened the potstickers. They looked old. I tasted them and the flavor was okay, but they were cold and hard with just a little sauce sprinkled on top. I also ordered chicken fried rice and was happy that it was still hot. I started eating and even though I liked the flavor, I thought something was missing. After a couple bites I realized there was no chicken. Mind you, when you order online, you have to make a choice. I chose chicken. I also said no eggs. I understand mistakes, but if a person orders chicken fried rice, it's pretty obvious that the dish should contain chicken. I called to inform the restaurant and they told me they would make another for me. The problem is I was back at work. I was not going to walk back over there during company time. They offered me a credit, but I requested a refund. I live in a different city and am not always in office at my job. I'm not going to make an extra trip out here to just get the chicken fried rice. I actually don't plan on going back. Fortunately they did refund me for the rice. I don't like giving negative reviews, I'd rather not review at all if I feel an experience is less than 3 stars. This review is in regard to the 1 star review that Hailey M wrote. Me and my friend were dining as Hailey M walked in and right off the bad was speaking to the workers extremely rude. As the manager came in to try to explain to her how online orders work she refused to listen to him and instead spoke over him and berated him. The issue could've been easily been resolved if she had taken the time to listen to the manager instead of making rude remarks and threatening to call the police.
