The Monday and Tuesday $1 wings is so awesome. There's a 15 wing limit, but that's more than enough. That being said, the wings were so good. I felt like the skin stayed crispy despite the sauciness of the wings. And I'm not going to lie, the french fries hit HAHA. We came in kind of late, so I appreciate the quick service and good service at that, despite us being there until just before closing. There's lots of seating inside and the vibe is very chill. Whether you're there hanging out, watching the game, or just catching up with friends. A great place to eat.

With shrinkflation robbing us daily and everything costing an arm and a leg, hearing about $1 wings felt unreal. The deal is dine in only, max 15 wings per person, and only on Mondays and Tuesdays. Bonchon is located in the Convoy Pointe Plaza and that parking lot is a nightmare. We went on a Monday around 7PM and the lot was completely full. People were parking a couple blocks away and walking. After circling for about 20 minutes we finally found a spot. Inside, it was vibrant and packed. We were lucky enough to grab the last open table. The party behind us waited about 10 more minutes, so expect a little wait. We were handed menus right away, but for the next 20 minutes no one came by. No water, no drink order, nothing. On a busy promo night I get that amazing service is hard, but a little attentiveness would have been nice. $1 wing deal. The flavors included Soy Garlic, Spicy, Yangnyeom, Korean BBQ, and Classic Crunch. I ordered 5 Classic Crunch wings with pickled radish and a side of spicy mayo. My partner got 10 wings, half Spicy and half Soy Garlic. We also ordered the sotteok sotteok for $2.99, which is a Korean street food skewer with chewy rice cakes and sausage coated in yangnyeom sauce. Our food came out about 15 minutes later and we finally got water. Everything smelled amazing. The wings overall were super crispy and held their sauce well. The soy garlic was my favorite. Balanced and flavorful. The spicy was extremely hot but still enjoyable if you can handle heat. The Classic Crunch had a great exterior but was way too salty. I was glad I ordered spicy mayo to balance it out. For $1 though, they are solid. Good meat, juicy inside, and fried well. The pickled radish was disappointing. It had the crunch, but it lacked that sharp acidic sweetness you usually expect. It tasted under brined and flat. The sotteok sotteok was pretty good. Chewy rice cakes, juicy sausage, and that garlicky yangnyeom sauce. I honestly wish I ordered another one. I can see myself coming back on Mondays or Tuesdays for the deal and the vibe, but probably not on a regular day. There are better wing spots, but for $1, it's hard to complain too much.

This is Bonchon's OG location in the SD area as it opened in the Convoy Pointe Plaza Shopping Center several years ago. The internal corner suite they occupy is not the most optimal spot especially with the notoriously jammed parking lot. They used to have long lines for dining in, but now the tables were well spaced apart with less seating capacity. I think it's because most of their revenue was coming from takeout and third-party delivery orders. During my recent visit, just three other parties were seated. A special menu card listed a Bacon x Kimchi collaboration with three items. The regular menu featured Korean fried chicken in the form of wings, drumsticks, strips, and boneless with small, medium, and large quantities available. You choose a type, quantity, sauce, and small side for an order. A variety of Bonchon bites (appetizers) appeared on the other side of the menu. I selected the Bacon Kimchi Stir-Fry Udon from the special collab menu and a small (10 pc) order of soy garlic wings with pickled radishes. Both items arrived simultaneously after about a 15-minute preparation time. The first was made up of wheat noodles stir-fried with bacon, pork belly, kimchi, and onions. A soy garlic and spicy sauce was used to flavor the mix which had a mild heat level. The wings were hand battered, double fried, and hand brushed with the soy garlic sauce I picked. I recall that the wings were light and crunchy when I first tried them years ago. This time the batter seemed heavier and overcooked. I am uncertain if they changed their formula, but I wasn't as impressed as before. The fact that they charged less than two dollars per wing was positive and why I rounded my rating up to a four star level.

Come here on Mondays or Tuesdays for $1 wings! It's a super good deal and the wings are Korean style deliciousness. They also have $5 draft Sapporo beers after 9pm. I think this special is everyday. The service is fast but they're super busy on wing special days. However they are bussin their butts to make sure you get your wings! There are TVs so you can enjoy your favorite sports while having wings. I recommend soy garlic for savory or Yangnyeom if you like some spice. Their other items are good, but just stay with the wings and you won't go wrong.

Love it here. Staff is always the nicest and honestly I think we've come so much on Tuesdays that they're starting to remember us. Got the $1 wings for the max amount and barely finished them but they were all delicious. We always come at a good time where it isn't busy and the food is always hot.

I stopped by to grab a quick lunch to go. The waitress greeted me and quickly took my order. The dining space is very open at this location. The chicken was delicious, cooked perfectly, and had a good amount of sauce. I recommend Bonchon in Convoy if your craving some good Korean fried chicken.

I contacted Bonchon.com the day following the business manager's comment but did not get any response or follow up.

My kids loved the bulgogi fries here! We intentionally came on a Monday so that it's cheaper. Mon and tues is 1$ wings. Otherwise korean chicken wings are just too expensive! We got the Korean, soy, fire, and the new flavor yangyeom. I think my favorite is fire but its not spicy at all. My kids opted for the korean feast. You get to choose 1 from each category. They chose 6 wings with 3 drum sticks, bulgogi fries, and the tteokbokki. They enjoyed all of it and its 40$ i think its a good deal. The inside is nice and big but their beer on tap tastes weird. The service was so great bc my server forgot my beer. I had to ask for it a second time. All in all, we will definitely come again!

Hands down the best Korean chicken spot in San Diego: especially for their happy hour wing nights on Monday and Tuesday (dine-in)! The wings are perfectly crunchy, double-fried to golden perfection, and bursting with flavor. The soy garlic easily my favorite: savory, slightly sweet, and absolutely addictive. The ambience was just right: music at a comfortable level, lighting that gives a nice night-time vibe, and plenty of TVs showing different things. My husband and I didn't pay much attention to the screens though: we were too busy enjoying good conversation and amazing food. Our server, Michaela, made the experience even better. She took the time to ask our names, gave us rubber bands when our to-go container broke, and overall made us feel genuinely welcome: it felt like home. If you're looking for a go-to spot for Korean wings, this is it. Great food, great service, and a chill atmosphere that makes you want to come back every week (which we have apparently!)

If you're looking for quality Korean chicken wings and have a budget this your place! Bonchon has $1 wings on Monday and Tuesday allowing each person to get up to 15 wings. I enjoyed the classic and soy garlic wings which were very tasty. The waiter and waitress were super friendly and this restaurant had TV's allowing me to watch the Monday night football game. Only con for this place is parking, but it's on Convoy so expect parking to be difficult.

Bonchon offers up flavorful tests like their spicy chicken dumplings. they're very high heat so be ready with a milky drink to wash it down! great tasting eats.

Food: We went for the $1 wings and it was so good and worth it. Even on a weekday, there was a wait, which shows how popular it is. The wings were good and had great flavor from the sauce. I've had slightly crispier wings elsewhere, but these were still solid and satisfying. Service: The service was decent and helpful. Ambiance: Lively and packed. It's a fun spot to hang out and chill with friends. Definitely gives off a casual and social vibe.

Servers are always nice and accommodating. Wings are delicious, crispy and consistent. Ambiance is chill, they play really good hip hop/rnb music. We frequent on Mondays and Tuesdays for the wing deals!

First off, there is free parking available, just circle around the building until you see a garage entrance for retail parking. Two hours for free! Let me first explain the aesthetics of this place. Clean and modern with mid century feel accented with greenery throughout. Please note that they won't seat you until most of your party is present. We came here for Happy Hour which was from 4-6pm from Tuesday to Sunday! This is fantastic that HH includes the weekend!!!! To start, got a wellness shot which had a meld of juices and ginger. A great drink to ready your palate. For cocktails, I tried the Suika Spritz, which was refreshing! The Absolutely Pho-nomenal definitely tasted like cold Pho broth but spiked. It wasn't my favorite drink, but glad I tried it nonetheless. Of course we ordered the $1 oysters, and ordered all three - Baja, Pacific Northwest, & East Coast. It came with some Asian fusion sauces to dress our oysters. My fave was the Baja as these were the freshest! All three were smooth and non briny. On the HH menu we also tried - Bulgogi Birria Vampiro - Tender meat with bulgogi seasoned beef on top of a tostada. Really liked the meld of the two cultures in this dish. Duck Liver Mousse - Comes with rustic bread & crème fraiche. Very duck forward. I liked this because it was rich with flavor. Stone Crab Taco - Loved the nod to Loganisa in this taco! This was by far, my favorite protein dish on the HH menu!!!! Regular Menu - Mango Nasturium Kimchi Salad - I absolutely loved this vibrant and fresh dish!!!! I had to go back for second and thirds! Shishito Peppers with Bonito Flakes - This was definitely a fun and flavorful dish with lots of umami. Dessert - Hotteok and Vanilla Ice Cream - this was my favorite dessert! The pancakes were flaky and delicious!! Bonbunja Tiramisu - Beware! This has a strong coffee taste. It reminded of the strength and flavor profile of a Vietnamese coffee. I can't believe it's not cheesecake - Definitely a mix of a brûlée but with a cheesecake flavor. Confusing but works lol. We met the executive chef, Kyler, who explained and served some of dishes we ordered. The entire staff was so accommodating and even reminded us if we needed our parking validated! Our water never ran empty and our dishes were promptly taken away as we finished. Definitely a place to visit during HH since they offer amazing food and cocktail choices.

At first, we had "real" reasons to come for the buffet--family visiting from Hawaii, straight A's, passing observations with flying colors. But now? We'll find any excuse to go. Cleaned the room? Pricing: * Adults: $25 * Kids (10 & under): $13 * 3 and under: Free There is a 90 minute time limit which we have been reminded on our last few visits. It also includes self-serve drinks like coffee and tea. One of the best parts is that it's not always the same menu--another reason we keep going back (honestly, every Sunday if we could!). Some of my favorite items: * Bangus Fried seasoned Milk fish * Ube pancakes with house-made ube butter THIS is a must-have every time! * Arroz caldo Super comforting, reminds me of my mom's cooking whenever it rained, when I was sick, or slightly got cold in Hawaii. * Lumpia Both Shanghai and vegetable are so good! * Lechon Kawali Fried pork * Sinagang My kids favorite item. Filipino soup known for its distinct sour and savory flavor, typically made with a tamarind-based broth, and different meats. Kare-Kare My husband favorite! This luckily has been here every time we come. * Champorado My lola made this. Champorado is a sweet, thick Filipino chocolate rice porridge made from sticky rice and chocolate. It's topped with milk. It's served hot which I prefer. We've also dined here from their regular menu, which includes Filipino food, Hawaiian local dishes, and sushi. Parking: There share a lot with other business. When we come at night during the weekdays we don't have to worry. Sunday's during brunch other businesses are closed so its not too bad. Overall, my family and I absolutely love the Sunday brunch buffet. If you're looking for a place to celebrate... or just need an excuse to treat yourself, this is the place.

It's in a plaza with a ton of other restaurants, so just know parking can be a little chaotic. I went on a Wednesday around 5:30PM and still found parking pretty easily, but I can see it getting rough later. The place itself is on the smaller side, but they fit a good amount of seating. Every time I pass by it never looks super packed and even this time it wasn't that busy. I ordered ahead through their website, which was smooth, but when I walked in the cashier didn't see my order at first. I showed her my confirmation text, she checked with the kitchen and let me know it was still being prepared. She was super kind about it, so no issue there. I sat and waited and it ended up being around 20 minutes, which felt a little long for just two items, but not terrible. There was also a moment where a group came in and no one was at the front, so they asked me how ordering worked. We both just assumed you scan the QR code at the table and order from there, which probably explains why there isn't always someone upfront. A little confusing at first, but it is what it is. Once my food was ready, it was packaged really nicely. I had about a 25 minute drive home and everything stayed warm, which is honestly the best part about good takeout. Popcorn Chicken ($9.50) This might be the best popcorn chicken I've had in San Diego, especially for the price. You get big pieces, like actual chicken, not just fried coating. The seasoning is kind of addicting, a little sweet, a little salty, savory, with a slight kick. Super fragrant too with green onions mixed in. The sauce tasted like a cilantro jalapeño crema, almost taco vibes, which sounds random but it worked really well. And the shredded cabbage at the bottom soaking up all that extra seasoning... so good. Only thing is I wish some pieces were a little crispier and more golden, but still really really solid. Spicy Shrimp Wontons (8 pcs, $10.80) These come in a soy, vinegar, chili oil sauce that's super balanced. The wontons themselves are a bit smaller and don't have a ton of filling, so price-wise it's a little eh. But the sauce carries. After sitting in it during my drive home, I thought it would be too salty, but it actually soaked in perfectly. The color got darker and richer and the flavor still stayed balanced. Overall, this place is honestly solid. The menu isn't huge, more focused on noodles, dumplings, and apps, but based on what I had, they do it well. I'll definitely be back to try more, but that popcorn chicken alone is already enough reason to come back.

While our food came out pretty slow, I'd say it was worth the wait. We also enjoyed 2 complimentary glasses of bubbly while we waited as part of our anniversary celebration. The restarant itself is decorated beautifully with a jazzy ambiance. The interior had bits of gold and green with a beautiful pearlescent leafy wallpaper. The bar is located in the center and also doubles as a centerpiece to the restuarant. Restrooms are located in the back - there we many private, clean and spacious rooms. Below is a summary of the food we ordered: Beef Tartare (5/5) - Savory, sweet and spicy beef tartare dressed in fish sauce and thai chilis. Paired alongside fresh herbs like cilantro, shiso, argula and radicchio. The sesame rice crackers were light and airy. Smoked Dry Aged Duck (5/5) - Perfectly cooked, sweet and salty aged smoked duck paired with rice noodles, herbs and 2 different sauces. I appreciated the many ways you can wrap and enjoy the duck. I do wish the slices of duck were either smaller or thinner - it's hard to eat in one bite. Whole Fried Sand Bass (4/5) - I'll always order a whole firied fish wherever I go and this was no expection. I loved the sweet & sour ginger sauce. The fish was a bit over-fried in my personal opinion, but the inside is still very soft and tender. Sweet & Sour Rice Noodles (5/5) - Aboslutely delicious! Slippery and cold rice noodles dressed in fish sauce and other seasonings. It's not overpowering at all and goes great with the Whole Fried fish as well. Seasame Soiree Cocktail (5/5) - A very unique drink made with gin, ginger, coconut, seasame seeds and more. It was very fragrant in the best way. The flavor really develops after the first sip. I love how nutty and decadent yet light this drink is. Overall, I had a great experience here and this is one of the top restaurants I've had the pleasure of enjoying in SD. Highly reccomend especially if you like Vietnamese food / fish-sauce forward dishes. (At least for the dishes I ordered)
