I came here on a Tuesday for their $1 a wing special. Only the Midlothian location does it on Mondays and Tuesdays and it's dine in only. It was a long drive for me, so I didn't make until 8:35 pm, but we were able to sit at the bar. Our waitress was very nice despite our late arrival. I ordered 5 soy garlic wings. She explained they had to be ordered 5 at a time with a maximum of 15. They came out piping hot. It had great flavor and crunch. I paired it with seasoned fries. These have a generous amount of Parmesan cheese, but I still asked for some ketchup. They were very good. Next, I ordered the classic crunch. These had no sauce. It was more like a dry rub. It was good, but next time I'll try another sauce. My husband (healthy man) ordered the bimbimbap and substituted the rice for lettuce. He said it was really good. Overall, everything was delicious, but I made a mental note to arrive at least an hour before. I was trying to eat fast because we were the only ones left and the wings were really hot. I had heard about the fried chicken and wanted to check things out for myself. I went in and was greeted by someone who was working the entire restaurant. I ordered this for pickup through Uber Eats. I was greeted immediately upon walking into door. I honestly thought they were talking to someone else because it was that fast lol! Perfect spot for happy hour! Also I have to shoutout Brianna who was our server, dining room server, the hostess, to go order taker, etc. She was attentive and handled the front of the restaurant well. I'd been to multiple Bonchon's before including this one. We sat at the bar and the music was nice (hip hop and R&B) and the World Cup was playing which was cool. What happened to this place. I used to order uber eats from here all the time, never disappointed once. I haven't ordered in about a year and did tonight as the family was out and I was shocked how bad it was. The chicken doesn't even look the same. I would pay$20 for the old stuff anyway, but it was bad tonight. It's disappointing. The chicken tenders were soggy, not one time have they ever given soggy tenders. We ordered the sampler platter that was more than enough for two of us and took some home. I don't like writing one star reviews but my experience with this location was pretty abysmal. When the Richmond Bonchon near me closed, I was so sad! They were a two-minute drive from my house and a pretty regular fixture on takeout nights. Customer service was excellent and I was always happy to come back. I will never come back to this location. We ordered takeout online after seeing that there was another Bonchon nearby while we ran errands. We got a large order of food so we could have leftovers. The Midlothian location is a 25-30 minute drive from my house so I was looking forward to some of my old favorites. We got bulgogi fried rice, tteokbokki, and 20 wings - half soy garlic, half spicy. I paid almost $15 for this order of tteokbokki. At the Richmond location, this was fine because it was a fairly large container for the price and I could make two meals out of it. This serving was tiny! (See picture). The sauce was watery and there was no kimari included. At first, I thought I'd ordered a lunch plate instead of the main dish until I checked our receipt. Fifteen rice cakes and five pieces of fish cake is fifteen dollars? The fried rice order was basically just meat and rice with absolutely no flavor. Wings were tiny and ranged from soggy to overdone. Spicy wings had a strange, Tabasco-like aftertaste. There was no radish or kimchi coleslaw included with the chicken. Where is the franchise consistency between locations? The girl working around 2:30pm today was so busy in this guys business at the bar that she gave me the wrong order and I tipped her on top of that. Chicken wings are some of the best BUT way over priced. They use to have 8 wing combo with a good amount of fries but now it is 6 wings and only Cole slaw. Then if you order fries which is $5.00 they only give you about the amount of a small McDonald's French fry. Today I order my husband and his coworker two 12 piece wings and some shrimp shumai.. this came out to $70!!! I almost didn't order it because of the super high price tag, but they really wanted it so i did it. They received the most dried out chicken jerky flavorless no sauce wings in the existence of wings. They were so bad they each ate only a few pieces before giving up out of fear of cracking teeth. Came here with my family the other weekend. I love bonchon so I was excited we could find a location in Richmond. We all ordered a bunch of food. My husband and I split a medium order of the soy garlic tenders + bulgogi fried rice. The soy garlic tenders were but seem to be lacking sauce. When we asked if we could get more sauce added the waiter said he couldn't do that unless he took the food back and added the sauce on himself (scrimping with the sauce but whatever). It was still pretty good. The other thing I noticed was the chicken was lukewarm when we got it. The bulgogi fried rice was really good but seemed smaller portion then what we normally get. My mother in law had some issues with her food and she didn't get her chicken till well into everyone else's meals (I think they forgot her order?). Regardless not impressed with this location. Lots of issues but atleast the food still tasted good (other locations are better). read more

Place is really nice ! Small parking available. The workers were really nice as well. I did however ordered takoyaki and they were out but it wasn't until after I sat for 25 minutes to find out. But the server did offer to sub it out for something else which is fine. I would say to call in the food first do not order when you get there. I tried to but my call wasn't answered. I was excoted to find Bonchon because I hadn't visited one in a while. When I walked in there were two people at the bar talking. I believe they already had their order. I waited quite a few minutes before someone came from the back to assist me. After I placed my order it seemed to be another long wait. With that said, I would recommend calling ahead as seemed to be the case with some oreders that were bagged and waiting for pickup. I ordered the 10 count (dinner) spicy soy wings, kimchi, and radishes. The chicken was good and spicy. I would have liked a smaller portion since I was the only one eating them. The smaller portion is only available for lunch. The kimchi was pretty good. It too was spicy. The radishes were disappointing. They did not taste pickled at all.
