I tasted the garlic wings and the hot wings my favorite was the garlic. I also purchased the potstickers and I must say they are the best I ever tasted. I got the hot and the mild I loved the hot! Congratulations to the owners one of which I met he was friendly, honest, and wonderful. The customer service is magnificent. The Establishment was very clean and had an upscale yet casual feel. I've passed this place several times over the last couple of months and we finally decided to try it. Gotta say I'm glad we did. The ambiance of the place is cute and cozy with the red booths and the black paint with the white and red writings and pictures on the wall. So now to the good stuff....THE FOOD. Of course I had the fried chicken but I did the combo with half spicy and half soy&garlic. Maaaaannnnnn, let me tell that spicy is nothing to play with lol. It had me sweating with the FIRST bite! But I could NOT put it down. I'll definitely be back for some more chicken and I would like to try some other things on the menu. Oh and I had the SOJU flight. If you never had Korean vodka, I suggest you try the SOJU flight. You get to pick 3 flavors of the vodka to try. I had the Apple, strawberry and lychee flight. I give them all 5 stars. Had such a bad experience at Bonchon last night with some friends. The food was good, but they had NO steamed rice available. We ordered at about 715 and waited til 830 for rice. I don't understand why no one told us there wasn't any rice available or why we had to wait for a full batch of rice to be cooked just for 6 orders of rice. I also don't understand why a Korean restaurant didn't have any rice ready?? We kept asking our waiter Gabe about time and ETA for rice and he hustled (and I mean HUSTLED) to make sure we were ok. I honestly felt so bad for the kid because he obviously felt bad and saw that our meal was ruined. The manager however (Victor) was TERRIBLE. He only came to apologize because we asked to speak with him. He never came up to us to check up on us, and he didn't even offer to compensate our meal because we waited for so long. We complained several times but when we looked to see where he was- he was standing at the bar hanging out with his other coworkers. Our waiter Gabe was doing so much to make sure we were ok. To put that cherry on top, the rice was undercooked and a tad crunchy. TBH, it was the least of our worries. Tldr: not coming back here. We didn't get the impression that this place was going to be a sit down and order type of restaurant at all. We were surprised that it was when we walked it for the first time. It's a small place so it gets tight between groups at tables. Their dishes still need work. Their bibimbap was not flavorful at all and more rice than veggies and meat; there should be a good balance of both. Their udon soup was plain and watery as well; the broth needs more flavor. My husband got the mix of mild and spicy 3-piece chicken drums and the server said it's anyone's guess as to how many of which you will get. (Shouldn't they ask the costomer how they would like it then?) So my husband asked for 2 spicy and one mild and ended up with 2 mild and 1 spicy. They ended up bringing out another spicy chicken for him. The salmon avocado was really good and enjoyed that. It wasn't the best experince but I think the place is still working things out. We LOVE this place! We get the 20 wings, half spicy half soy. They are amazing!!! Lots of meat on the bone. The kids love the chicken fried rice. It's a little but pricey for chicken but it tastes so good! We hit this place up every payday! read more

I've been here a couple of times now. I will give it a 3 because I can see potential. At the beginning, service was slow and hectic. You could tell there was no organization on who had what tables. At times our server would go missing and we would have to ask for someone else. We were excited to eat bonchon bc we had it in Boston for sometime. FLAVOR is on point, BUT the few times I've ordered the drumsticks, it was not cooked all the way. Still saw pink closer to the bone. Not a big fan of the appetizers as everytime we've ordered them, something is wrong (either we never get it or potstickers were frozen still in the middle). What I'd like to see is that we get more Daikon with the chicken and that the slaw is also included like they do in the locations up north. read more

Although chicken was good, bull-dak (chicken and rice cake in hot spicy sauce) came out way over cooked. The reason that I gave only 2 star was waiting time and over priced menu items. We had to wait like 45 minutes to get food served and $1.95 for pickled radish and $2.95 for kimchi? Those come as complimentary in other Korean chicken places.. Although the chicken was pretty good, I'm giving 2 stars only as the side dishes and appetizers were not good at all. Add to that the very weird and unprofessional waitress and that's how I got to my rating. Edamame lacked salt. Kimchi "did not taste right" per my husband who usually loves that dish. Gyoza was mediocre and overpriced. Our waitress was weirdly over friendly and declined to write our order down. When has this ever been good? We even asked if she needed to write it and got her flippant response of "I've been doing this for a while now". Of course she forgot one of the appetizers and we had to remind her later. The strangest thing was that none of the food came out in any kind of logical order. The chicken came out first then appetizers then finally the sides. Hey! It's actually not that bad. I thought it was going to be a pricy overrated place like dok and bap but it was affordable and decent. came here on a Friday around 1. They were not busy and we were seated immediately and our waitress took care of our drink order while we looked through the menu. We ordered the lunch size small Combo wings (8) , half spicy half soy garlic for $8. Lunch portion smothered fries for $2.50 and the salmon ball. Our fries came out first and it was hot and delicious and well seasoned. Our wings came out next, piping hot, crunchy, and delicious. We didn't like how big the chicken was, maybe because we were expecting bdub/wing stop size chicken wings, but these wings were huge! We would've preferred the smaller wings. The salmon ball came out last and that was my favorite. Probably because of the no carbs part so I wouldn't have such a big food coma afterwards and the salmon wasn't over cooked so it wasn't dry. Ever since visiting Korea, I have a terrible weak spot for Korean fried chicken. It simply does not compare to American chicken. My boyfriend and I have visited several times in the past few months and while service can be hit or miss, the chicken never is. We enjoy the soy garlic chicken combo and it is always delicious. That being said, I was disappointed the first time we dined to find out the only white meat served with soy garlic is in the form of chicken strips (which were hardly satisfying, they were very dry and tough). I'm not a huge fan of drumsticks themselves but Bonchon makes them well enough I won't complain that I'm not eating breast meat. Overall, the chicken is crispy, has great flavor, and tastes authentic enough for my Korean boyfriend to cure any feelings of homesickness. With regards to the other dishes served at Bonchon, some of them look very appetizing but the prices are just too high to even venture to try them. Bulgogi, one of my particular favorites, is way overpriced at $16, when you could normally enjoy this dish at many Korean restaurants for half the price. Even though I also feel the fries are slightly too high, they are decent and a must while you are waiting for your chicken to cook. So, go for the chicken! It is good! You might have to wait, but it is worth it. Would I recommend other dishes? Not so much. read more

A friend brought me here, and I was immediately impressed. When I looked at the menu, I had that realization that I wanted to return several more times so that I could try everything on the menu. I had a hard time choosing what to order. I've now been twice, and plan to return often. The chicken is incredible and a real staple. The rice portions are huge, I had the French fries today and they were perfect. I brought some foodie friends, and they were impressed. This place offers something in Sugar Land that others cant. I tried this place for lunch. They have a lunch menu with specials Monday through Friday. The prices were reasonable. I had a combination of chicken wings and drumsticks. They were very good! Wings and legs were rather large and cooked to perfection. I prefer my wings extra crispy and that's the way they came out. A good crispy crust on the outside and juicy on the inside. I saw someone else having a bowl and that also look delicious. May try that on my next visit. read more

This place sucks. If you want to be completely underwhelmed and disappointed, then this is your place. Order the Bonchon chicken tacos and get 99% veggies, spicy fries that are cooked beyond death and so crispy they are uneatable, and spend $2 on half a cup of bad rice. 07/06/17 was my 4th or 5th time here. I was eating with three more friends. We all ordered the same things from the lunch menu. 8 wingS 1/2 & 1/2. Three of us received our order and approximately 15 min. later the last order arrived. She cut into her wing and it wasn't cooked all the way, it was still red inside. She cut into a 2nd wing and the same thing. We finally got the server's attention and made her aware of the problem. She put in another and it took forever. Have you had every kind of chicken wing possible? If you haven't eaten at Bonchon I can assure you, you have not...and this is stated by a native Buffalonian who has had the experience of eating at Frank and Teresa;s since the early 1970's. Regardless of your wing history, Bonchon wings are an experience that should not be missed. Aside from the unique fusion (all Wings are accompanied by pickled radish in place of traditional celery and ranch dip-a positively delectable complement to the unique flavor of the wings) the limited topping options are by no means a limitation to the deliciousness of these wings. There are only two options Soy Garlic and Spicy however neither is a disappointment. All the wings are fried to perfection and either topping (typically the servers will recommend a balance of each in your order) is excellent, chocked full of extremes in flavors (garlic, soy, korean pepper, onion etc.) that are particularly well balanced sufficiently to evoke a response from every taste center for a pleasant experience, The size of the wings are remarkably generous, the service is quite pleasant, efficient and if you are a Bonchon novice, quite instructional.They will typically offer a sample of each flavor which I would encourage you to try however the spicy option is my favorite and regardless of your timidity I would encourage you to at least try once. There is a full bar, local (regional) draft beer options and a number of unique mixed drinks including a soju-Hite bomb. Well worth the experience. read more

So we ordered our food. My sweet boneless wings hardly had any sauce on them, I asked for more sauce. I was told "no because it's a company sauce so they give it out" WTH are you kidding me. This is base on our to go order. Chicken wings are great however the chicken nuggets were so burnt they were inedible. When I called to let them know the manager was unavailable but my phone number was written down with a promise of a call. Needless to say no call was made. I crave this chicken. The wings and drumsticks have a nice crispy coating under the sauce. The sweeter sauce is my favorite, but the spicy sauce is great too. The fries are ultra-crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything comes out hot and fresh. We just started going here and have probably eaten here five times. Have ordered from them several times. The food is always delicious. They've made mistakes on a couple of orders. Last night they left off a coleslaw and also the plastic utensils I requested. I called the restaurant and other leaving a note that the item was missing they offered no solution. I was told to pick up the side next time I went to the restaurant. I'm still still not going into small restaurants with close seating. I'm giving five stars but probably should give four. Sometimes the food I'd piping hot but last night was hot, but just cool enough for the French fries to not be crisp. Reheated them today in air fryer and they were better than last night. Wasn't the best last night. Also the cups of coleslaw and radish were completely not full and the rice portion was smaller than when I ordered the same dish last week. Talk about unbelievable!.....and not in a good way. My boyfriend I got to restaurant first excited for the fried chicken. We were sat about five minutes of arriving, and as we waited for the rest of the group to arrive. We thought a great start not knowing what was to come. We saw the busser working his butt off as we looked at the busy room. What we also noticed was a lot of tables looking confused. Our waiter came over took our order after a good 10 minutes, which we understood. Our group arrived after 5 minutes of getting our drinks. Our waiter came over and said he would be back. 15 minutes later our waiter disappeared, and a new person took our full order. Drinks came but easily disappeared as it was somewhat hot in the restaurant. We waited another 15 for appetizers. At this point no one refilled half of our drinks, gave us 5 plates, and 4 chopsticks(mind you their was six of us), and to confuse us more it was a different waiter. So about 50-60 minutes have gone by since we had ordered our food, and no one has checked on us( refill drinks, bring us that extra plate, and still not enough utensils). Not until the busser, the one guy who seems to know what he was doing came. We told him what happened, and before he could act the manager who was dressed like he was coming from a cruise ship called him over to drop what we needed so he could flip tables. Now we were getting mad. We were wishing food would come out, but now it was time to think of other options. My boyfriend and I were embarrassed, because we took my sister's in-laws from out of town, and then this happens. My brother-in-law went to go talk to the manager only to be told we were to blame that we didn't try hard enough to get refill on drinks. I was dumbfounded, and then he changes to that their fryer guy never showed up for second shift. Hey I get it! It sucks when staff doesn't show up, but it's the manager(s) on duty to resolve the issue. I only saw the manger micro manage the busser, and not really help (refill waters, deliver food, apologize at tables for wait times, etc). So we left with no drinks, no chicken, and only disappointment. I really hope they can figure this out, but until then I won't be taking anyone with me if I ever try it again. read more

I'm a poor excuse for a Korean. This stuff is so spicy. We always order the bul ddak (spelling?). It's a twist on a traditional red pepper paste rice cake dish. This version includes rice, an assortment of veggies (broccoli and long blockish carrots), and fiery chicken. Do not eat this if you have a weak stomach and have to go to work early the next day. Save it for the weekend. We've also tried the fried chicken (Meh), fries (bomb!), and fried rice (a-okay). The husband, encouraged by a server one time, had a lychee martini. Sweet and strong, he says. The service itself is mostly lacking. The first visit we waited over 10 minutes before a server came. The next two were on point, almost annoying actually as they continued to jump in our conversations... random. The last time I visited, the server disappeared after he brought the food out and I had to hail another server for refills since my mouth was on fire. Lackluster service aside, I would still encourage folks to check it out. Just ask for more than a cup of water beforehand in preparation. read more

Came in at 8:30 to order food. They close at 9pm. They seemed nice. Food was great until I woke up the next feeling like shat. It's only the late afternoon and it's been my 9th trip to bathroom. Not just me, but all of my friends got sick. I believe they got us back by undercooking the chicken because we came in too close to their closing time. Will not come back again.
