It is more like a take out. I think there is like maybe less than 20 seats. 2 self serve kiosks. Make your order and take a number for your order. I got the lunch special 4 wings with 2 drumsticks spicy. I got the rice as side for the meal. Overall, the wings are a bit smaller but the drumsticks are on par. I like the heat level for spicy. I used to love Bonchon when I lived in VA about ten years ago. I have been back to two recently the first in Sterling and the second in Herndon. First they were both dead, no one there. Now I know why. The one in sterling was just OK. The one in Herndon was awful. Walk through the door to see a kid sitting at the bar on his phone. Did not acknowledged me. I ordered wings and fries to eat in. The chicken came out luke warm and looks like it had been fried, fried, put in the freezer, taken out and fried two more times before making it to me. It was awful. I asked for salt for the fries. The guy comes out with a small plastic cup with what appears to be salt. No matter how much I put on my fries there was no taste. This was the worst Bon Chon experience. We have been to multiple Bon Chons in the past, and we were very disappointed today. We ordered the large combo (half and half) and seasoned zucchini fries. First, the wings lacked flavor and were dry. My boyfriend loves wings but even he could not finish these. The sizing of the wings had huge discrepancies (see photo). It's as if they threw in a few big wings as a response to prior reviews that the wings were too small. One of my favorite parts of eating Korean fried chicken is having refreshing pickled radish between bites of chicken. This was my first time to this location and the space is rather small so if you're coming with 6 or more guests I would give them a call and ask if they have availability and can accommodate. We called ahead and placed our order for the wings because it takes about a half hour to cook and we were arriving late in the day and didn't want to delay their closing time. The wings came out shortly after we were sat and they were as good as always. We also ordered a side of French fries and steamed rice. The rice came out with dark spots on it. The waiter explained that it's from the bottom of the pot and replaced it with a new one after we requested a replacement. This is definitely the worst Bonchon in the area. Its the closest one next to me so each time I try, I always hope it gets better but it gets worse. The wings are always overcooked and dry with no sauce on them. Onion rings are overcooked and the fries are either super soggy or super hard. I tried the strips tonight for my children, thinking it would be meaty chicken strips like most places. It was so thin, they OVER overcooked it. It was not edible at all, it was like eating rocks. The service was pretty bad. The server got the drinks wrong, had to come back to double check the orders, didn't bring requested items and didn't know the menu. But there were also problems in the kitchen. Items that weren't supposed to be spicy were, like the chicken katsu for the kids. You can get one of three options including drum sticks, wings or boneless (which i got). You can get either the soy garlic or hot sauce and i got a mix of both. For 10 wings it cost approx $13 plus tip! So filling that i could only eat half of the dish. It even came with complimentary sour radish. I liked the service and the low key environment. My orders usually consists of either a small (10 pieces) or large (30 pieces) order of Soy Garlic Wings and a couple orders of rice for the group. The preparation times I've been told on the phone have been accurate each time - between 20-30 minutes depending on the size of my order. The chicken is always hot and perfect for when we still have to drive to our destination. Regardless of whether I order in New York, New Jersey or Virginia, the chicken is always cooked consistently.
