Crispy & tasty but a bit pricey for fast food chicken. $38 gets you 15 pieces of delicious double-fried, extra-crispy Korean Fried Chicken. The pieces are fairly substantial, juicy & ultra-flavorful. We had a mix of spicy and soy & garlic. Space was a little tight for eating but cold water was provided. Service was typical counter-serve. We also had bulgogi fries, a smallish portion for the money with only a smattering of bulgogi beef. I wish this place could have gotten 5 stars but the value ain't there, though the taste is. read more

This is the only place I'll eat chicken, I've tasted all their choices,I love the crunchy flats only ,no sauces .. I honestly get cravings for it and will travel 59 miles just to get it... the staff is courteous and helpful.. even when they're super busy I've never waited longer then10 mins.. I hope they do well and stick around, oh and not change their recipe or get too high in price ... read more

I went back and tried out their weekday lunch special. 6 pieces and a side for $11.99. I chose mixed (4 wings and 2 drums). The pieces were large, especially the drumsticks. I was so happy by the time I finished my meal :-) I also tried the coleslaw which was pretty good. Additionaly, the yangnyeom sauce was so good. I think it is the traditional KFC sauce. The sauce is now my favorite. I will go back and try out their $1 wings special next time! read more

I remember when Bonchon was just a random chicken place that opened up in California, its draw was that it was of a renowned Korean chain. Upon first bite you'll realize how different it is from traditional fried chicken, and now it is the flagship for most people's first foray into KFC ( Korean Fried Chicken). The location in Clackamas Town Center is of no exception, and their quality and speed are still up to par. It's a great casual place to have some fried chicken and snacks ( or even heavier meals) with the family or friends. Their service is like any other chain, don't expect anything stellar, but there are no complaints either. The food is consistent, fresh, hot, crunchy, and plenty of flavor no matter what you get. I recommend trying their original flavors the Spicy and Soy Garlic wings on your first venture, but if you're familiar already then dive into their more expansive menu! I haven't had a miss yet, though their specialty is definitely their wings. The rest of their menu doesn't miss, but they aren't top tier compared to dedicated Korean restaurants. I find this to be more satisfying than anything in the Clackamas food courts, so I recommend anyone who hasn't tried Bonchon to give a look! read more

1 Star Chicken Sandwich review only the chicken sandwich I got was terrible.. I describe it as a poorly breaded chicken patty that didn't have much meat; in other words, it was a smashed chicken burger where you only taste batter and chicken was beyond dry because there wasn't much meat to start out with If this was a regular standard juicy chicken patty then it'll be good Failed read more

It was my partner's idea to order from here but the menu looked good so I figured it was worth a shot. Food was pretty tasty and arrived in good condition. I think he forgot that Korean corn dogs are cheese though because he seemed surprised but still enjoyed it. It's kind of hard to go wrong with things like bulgogi and tteokbokki. Reasonable prices for the portions. read more

Located at Clackamas Town Center near the doors by Barnes and Noble. There are a few tables inside and a few small tables outside. You can order from a kiosk or at the counter. We were there on a Tuesday and there was a wing special. Be aware there was a limit to get the promo price. Got the Korean fried chicken sandwich, boneless wings of half and half, tacos and fried rice. I like the option to have half spicy, half soy garlic wings. We really liked the wings and they reheat well in the air fryer. The fried chicken sandwich had some bones. Tacos were good. Next time I'll just order the boneless wings. read more

I've had the chicken from bonchon togo before but this is the first time I dined in. There was one cashier to take orders and a kiosk as well. I ordered through the kiosk and it went smoothly. Our food came out pretty quickly and the wings were crispy to our likings. Got half soy garlic and half crunchy. The soy garlic definitely could have had more flavor, but the crunchy was delicious. The reasons why I am giving 3 stars: the floor was VERY sticky, we had 3 people but they only gave us 2 forks and ordered fries but was not provided with or asked if we wanted ketchup. read more

Great Korean street food at the mall First time trying this place out after seeing reviews on here. Small place that seems like a good lunch spot. We used the kiosk to order. My husband and I have food allergies, so unfortunately we couldn't order crispy chicken, which is what this place is probably known for. (I'm salivating thinking about that crisp haha). We ordered potstickers and japchae. The japchae is a 10/10!!! Not salty and full of flavor! Highly recommend getting this. My daughter loved the potstickers. I love that they give more than four. They were out of bibimbap, so we would like to try that next time. We waited about 15-ish minutes for our takeout. This place is popular. I'm a fan of this place. Great location and lots of parking, but parking may be hard to find during busy weekend hours. read more

I recently went to Bonchon after not having it for about a year. For the most part, the food has always been good to great for me but there has oftentimes been issues that has prevented me from being a more frequent diner such as order accuracy, speed of service, and online ordering issues. On this particular visit, I was the only person in the store and still my order took way way too long to arrive at my table (32-35+ mins). In numerous previous visits, Bonchon would blow my mind how the chicken would be crispy despite the glaze an hour later, or crisp after being refrigerated and then reheated in the toaster oven the next day). Yet on this visit, my KFC batter wasn't as crunchy to start and the crunch faded much quicker than before and didn't "last" before I ate all the pieces of chicken. I was kinda surprised given that this never happened before. Honestly the meal was pretty disappointing and it's been a few weeks and I can't even remember the details since it was such a meh meal. The chicken might have been dry and/or undersauced, but I can't say with any certainty since I don't remember, I just remember it was really the only time I've been disappointed with "taste," Also ordered rice and it didn't come out with my meal and came out much later, and I didn't start my meal until the rice came out which might have led to the crunch not lasting, but it still should have lasted long enough, and they should have brought the rice at the same time, no excuses. Once the rice came out much later, again no apologies. It feels weird to me why I had to wait more than 30 seconds for rice since rice is usually cooked well in advance and I was literally the only person in there at the time. The experience I've had last month felt very different than when they've first opened and I'm not sure if this is due to a change in ownership or a cost cutting measure or something, but it feels very off. read more

There was nothing good about my experience here with my gf. There was a family that was waiting for food when we came in on a Saturday night around 7pm. When we left, all they got were their fries. There were also a bunch of other people waiting long times for their food. This was our first and last time coming here. I ordered the chicken sandwich which I hardly ever do because the picture looked very crispy. See the picture. The worst chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life. Go somewhere else. read more

I want to start with the positive: the food was GREAT! Super crispy, juicy, and flavorful wings and drums with delicious sauces, nice crispy fries, and THE BEST japchae I've had in a long time! I should be giving Bonchon 5 stars ... However, as soon as we stepped in the door, we noticed an unpleasant smell. Sitting down at the table to wait for our food, we couldn't help but notice how run-down, dingy, and downright dirty the restaurant was. The back part of the chairs were covered in dust, dandruff, and hair. The floors were light gray, but black and brown on the sides and corners due to caked-on grime. In many places, the floors were actually STICKY. They had boxes, gas tanks, and supplies stacked up in plain view next to the drink machine, which was partly out of order. Later, having eaten and really enjoying our food, we had to use the restroom. I dreaded going and, unfortunately, it was exactly as expected. Bonchon's bathroom was not unlike any local gas station bathroom you would walk into - just plain grimy. Sticky floors again, footprints where peoples' shoes had stuck to the floor, and a stinky odor. Just bad. I would love to return, but if the front of the house looks like that, what must the kitchen look like?! Honestly, what are they thinking running an establishment like that? I paid almost $80 for food to sit in that atmosphere. read more

Went to this place when they opened and it was delicious, not sure what happened to them. We went back a while ago, quality of fried chicken has gone down significantly when compared to other Korean fried chicken places. They used to just give you flats and drumsticks but recently we had weird pieces of chopped chicken in our order. Like someone just randomly hacked at a whole chicken. This was deterring to eat especially since some pieces were of breast meat. The breading was also lacking, and the sauce was not thick as it used to be. Not sure if there was a change in management or issues with the training but this needs to be fixed. Or even issues with where they are getting their fried chicken from or if they are cutting corners. Customers need to be notified if they are getting flats and drumsticks or random pieces. read more

I came here again more recently after hearing about their "new" flavors (it's honestly been a while since they've introduced these, but it was just my first time hearing about it). Since they've opened they've only had the soy garlic and spicy flavors, however within the past couple months they added the yangnyeom and Korean BBQ flavors. This time, I ordered in-person and to-go. The order took about an hour to do, which was honestly a bit crazy. However, I ended up walking around the mall for a bit, so the time went by fast. I ordered the ddeokbokki, buldak, and half and half of the yangnyeom and Korean BBQ flavors. The sauce of the ddeokbokki was a bit too watery for me, but the rice cakes were nice and chewy. The buldak was good, but not particularly special. And, the wings were great. I love the addition of these flavors as it gives more options to customers and they each have their own unique taste. I would definitely come by more often now that they've expanded their menu a bit. read more

Been wanting to try this for a while since I love Korean fried chicken. The garlic soy wings were a lot larger than you usually find in wing joints. The flavor was more soy and hardly any garlic but were still served up warm and had a nice crunch. I'd pass next time on the teeny bowl of fried rice. The flavor was ok but had that rewarmed a few too many times crunch to it. I wish they had more than 6 tables in such a busy location as the outside of the mall with no outside options to sit (maybe they do in Summer). Get the side of sweet radish, that was on point! read more

Great food Friendly service We stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon, which is the worst for parking at the mall!! We weren't visiting the mall so it's very inconvenient to stop in at these restaurants without the intention to shop as well. During any busy hours or weekends plan on walking a good distance to get here. The food was really great but the price is excessive. We wanted to try the chicken after some friends raved about it so we ordered a box of boneless with half/half bbq and garlic sauces. They were really good! Great crispiness even with the sauces poured on top. We also ordered the Korean tacos with spicy chicken and the japchae and an order of pot stickers. Every dish was served hot and tasted great! We loved the sauces. Everything tasted fresh. The dining area is big for a mall location. There were plenty of tables, even on a busy weekend day. Be prepared for the menu prices here. It's well above fast food prices. Most items start at about $15.00 and go up from there with any add ons. With 2 entrees, an appetizer, and drinks you'll be at approx. $50.00+ for 2 people. We did enjoy our meal but it won't be a place we visit on a regular basis. read more

UPDATE: We ordered, 6 chicken wings with soy & garlic sauce, and a side of cole slaw. The chicken wings were like everybody else says: INCREDIBLE! The cole slaw was good too. I had the Bulgogi Tacos. "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" The restroom was nice & clean. The Customer Service was OK. 'Please don't stare at the customer, with an umbrella. She's got Discoid Lupus and Shingles, at the moment. Both are not something anyone can understand, until they have it. By then, it will be too late to reverse the damage from sun damage)". The packaging for the food, were well designed! Negative: The napkins are too thin, one wipe and done! Good food doesn't mean cheap napkins! read more

I was excited to see Bonchon here on the west coast. This pIace is legit for serving Korean Chicken Wings. The provide either a garlic soy or spicy gochugang glaze. We chose the half and half batch of wings. The double fry on the chicken wings made them so crispy! They cooked them just right so the meat was still juicy and piping hot. The glazes were a perfect mix of mild and spicy. They also give you a small container of daikon radish to serve as a pallet cleanser if you moved between the different flavors of wings. read more

This place is highly rated but I can't figure out why. The prices are very high. The fried chicken has an artificially enhanced crisp coating that almost sounds like hard plastic when you bite into it. And there's hardy any room to sit down when a few patrons are frequenting this location. I did see a few take out orders. The person who persuaded me to visit had been here on a takeout and raved about the chicken. Once you get past the hard plastic coating the chicken doesn't taste bad. Also, each of the chicken drumsticks were huge. Almost like a turkey leg. Not sure where they get these - even grocery store chickens are that big. Not going back. read more

As a native Korean, this was the worst Korean fried chicken I've had in my life. I ordered boneless yangnyeom chicken with tteokbokki. The "boneless" chicken tasted like McDonald's nuggets but worse, covered in a bland, sticky sauce, and the tteokbokki was flat with cheese that had the texture of dissolvable rubber. It was mostly green onions with barely any rice cakes. Everything came in cheap plastic containers, and the portions were far too small for the price. This place completely ruined the reputation of good Korean fried chicken. I honestly don't understand why anyone would eat here. Do yourself a favor and go to BBQ Chicken instead. read more

Korean fried chicken taste better than American fried chicken. Now that is settled, let's talk about the recent boom of Korean fried chicken chains. The two that comes to my mind is bonchon and ChiMcking. They have a lot in common between them. They are both amazing. I dunno what happened. I usually order the Boneless Wings and they're decent but today is weird. I ordered 24 Boneless Wings half "Spicy" and half "Korean BBQ" (limited summer flavor) and what I got instead was 22 weird chicken nugget-like pieces and 2 of what is suppose to be their "Boneless Wings." I tried to look online if this was a universal change but I don't see any mention of it. After doing research, I decided to call the store and I'm not sure if the description the rep gave me was good. They said they had problems with something so that's why the Boneless Wings are turning out like "nuggets." Why did they leave me 2 of the old pieces though? That doesn't make sense. I really hope this isn't a permanent change because there is no good ratio of flavor. It's a lot of meat, less flavor, and severely lacking the "CRUNCH OUT LOUD" mentally they keep talking about. I also learned that their Chicken Strips old recipe is back? (I wasn't even aware it changed since this location opened up when the change already took place.) Also, the Summer BBQ flavor was kind of lack luster. Stick with Soy Garlic or Spicy folks. read more
