First of all, our server Kat was awesome! Super sweet & helpful! Hope others can experience that level of customer service themselves! Secondly, while some of the items weren't available because we came in closer to closing, the other options were DELICIOUS! The brisket & burnt ends were flavorful & tender & the bbq sauce was perfect for what my tummy was craving! Wish we lived in Oregon because we'd be back often if so

Wanted BBQ so decided to give Hog Wild Barbeque a try. It's in the same building as Bajio Mexican Grill. We dropped in on a Friday evening (8:00pm). Only two other tables were occupied. - Apple cider mimosa ($3.50 USD) - can't beat the price. A whole cinnamon stick was thrown in - Brisket chili ($11.00 USD bowl) - hearty, nicely seasoned and meat was tender - Barn buster ($29.99 USD) - opted for beef brisket, pulled pork, babyback pork ribs ($1.50 USD extra), green beans with bacon and sweet potato fries. Ribs and pulled pork were a touch dry. Brisket was better. Green beans were awful (over boiled, no texture). Sweet potatoes were decent. Never received a slice of cornbread but given burnt ends to try (slightly tough) Props for plenty of meat. 3.5 stars.

Stopped by this BBQ spot on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we walked in, the place smelled incredible[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Ordered the 2 meat plate with burnt ends and brisket everything was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The variety of bbq sauces range from smoky to tangy. Sides were so impressive. The mash was creamy and the gravy was so rich I loved dipping the meat with the gravy . Even the cheese curds had that smoky comfort flavor. Portions were generous, so come hungry ! There are small upcharges for certain sides but definitely worth checking them out cause there's tons of options. Service is fast and all friendly, this place clearly takes pride in their food. If you're craving authentic done-right BBQ, this place is absolutely worth it. Can't wait to come back soon and try more items !!

I ordered 1lb of burnt ends and I'd say 1/2 was just pure fat. This was 24.00 and a waste of money

I know barbecue can be fatty. You're always prepared for that but not to this degree I spent $24 on 1 pound of Bert ends and not half of it was even edible, it was just pure fat. But it was lathered in BBQ sauce so it was hard to tell so I separated all the fat so they can see how much there was. What a waste of money

After driving pass this place for a couple of years, we decided to give it a try. It's a casual place with a couple of TVs. There are some pictures of actors and local decor. The staff is very nice and can assist when you don't quite know what to order. Get there early because they do tend to be out of a menu item. Collard greens seem to go fast quite often. But the green beans and bacon are a good runner up. The meat is really good. Flavorful and tender. The cornbread is nice and moist. And they have mild, medium and hot BBQ sauces at each table.

I'm always a little skeptical when I visit a restaurant in a strip mall, but this didn't didn't disappoint. They're located in the parking lot of Home Depot, but they have their own parking area. When we went, there was a sign that said to sit at any table with a menu on it. We were greeted upon entry by a super friendly employee who ended up being our server. The service was amazing. Like more than 5 stars amazing. Alex was our server, and if I could request him every time I would. The food was really good. I had the ribs and the bacon cheddar sausage with mac and cheese and potato salad. The ribs didn't exactly fall off the bone, but they were really tender, and the sausage was heaven. I was concerned that the mac and cheese was going to be dry and unflavored based on how it looked, but it was surprisingly very good. The inside of the restaurant itself is pretty neat looking. Lots of different decor and plenty of tables but not a lot of booths. I'm definitely going back to try other menu items.

Ask the Community - Hog Wild BBQ

What type of BBQ sauce is it? More tangy, sweet, smoky, spicy, etc?

They have 3 sauces, all I would say are a smoky sweet, just varying in level of heat. If you enjoy heat, then their hot isn't all that hot. Everything's a thick sauce though.

Truly, as impressive as the menu is here, the real secret ingredient is Uncle Earl, himself. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, and genuine hospitality create an experience that feels like visiting an old friend rather than a neighborhood food cart. I settled on The Arnold: a half pound of brisket with a side of mac n cheese and a corn muffin. There are a number of sides to choose from, but the mac sounded appealing to me. Indeed, it was very rich and satisfying, but the meat is why people flock to this food cart! Tender, sweet and salty, and oh, so delicious; this is the barbecue I've been missing in my life! I met some people outside the food stand, a business man from Hawaii and some California people I mistaken were from Hawaii as well, lol. It was an awesome interaction, from the moment I got there I got greeted by strangers waiting for food, to going up to the window and asking "so what? No more nuttin left?" Nolan's response was "Nah I only get mochicko chicken and kalua, you likem?" Haha that was a definite yes! Won't miss out on home food esp if word of mouth was already out there. So I waited a few minutes for my food, and the box was heavy. Haha it felt like when you would eat at your aunty and uncles house and they pack you the party left overs. I opened my plate lunch and I was greeted by a huge portion of chicken, pork rice and Mac salad. And let me tell you, the Mac salad didn't have so much frills like what you would see in a Portland Hawaii food joint. It was sauced, and seasoned. PERFECT! No need for all the extra add ons. As I started eating, let me say that kalua pork was no joke so moist and easy to eat not even close to dried out. The chicken tasted nice and crispy with just enough marinate and fluff. I haven't found this anywhere in Oregon..until here. But there it was... that hot honey Korean barbecue. Sweet, smoky, just enough kick to remind you life ain't supposed to be boring. It didn't just hit it introduced itself, shook my hand, and said, "Son, you've been eating wrong your whole life." What I respect about Doja is they've got the whole operation dialed in. Food carts, for those unfamiliar, are kind of Oregon's unofficial religion Portland alone has hundreds of them, making it one of the largest food cart scenes in the country. But not all pods are created equal. Some are chaos. Some feel like a yard sale with fryers. Doja? They've got order in the court. Clean setup, solid variety, and a lineup that makes decision-making just difficult enough to be fun. Now I'll be honest it was one of those warm days where the sun's got you questioning your life choices. I wasn't even that hungry. But that Korean barbecue? It didn't care. It showed up anyway and handled business. That's the kind of food you remember later when you're sitting at home thinking, "I should call her..." And here's the kicker I'm coming back. This wasn't a one-and-done. This is the start of a full-blown "food cart biopsy," where I go back, poke around, try everything, and report to the people like some kind of well-fed scientist. Because if this first run is any indication, Doja's not just good they're consistent, confident, and just a little bit dangerous to your wallet and your willpower. If you've got even a passing love for Korean flavors, or just enjoy food that knows what it's doing, do yourself a favor and stop by. Bring an appetite... or don't. They'll fix that for you.
