Nice, new, bbq restaurant in the heart of Estacada. They even have a drive thru! We stopped in for dinner to check out this new spot. After reading some poor reviews we weren't expecting much. Now I'm wondering what those reviewers were hoping for because the food here was better than we expected. It's a cafeteria style service when you first enter. You'll choose your meats and sides as you make your way down the line to the register. We chose the 2 meat and 3 meat plates and chose a mix of meats to be able to try several different things. We had chicken, ribs, pulled pork, brisket and sausage. The ribs were the fav of all the meats. Chicken was probably the next fav but all of the meats were good and flavorful. Except for the sausage each one is a good size portion. For sides we chose corn on the cob, Mac and cheese, coleslaw and jojos. The sides weren't anything amazing but all went well with the meat entrees. The Mac and cheese & jojo were good but both were a basic warm and serve, the coleslaw could have used more dressing and the corn was slightly too soft for our liking. Our total, including drinks, was approx. $60 (plus tip added to that) and we had a ton of left overs to take home. The restaurant itself is spacious with a lot of seating, nicely decorated, clean and inviting. The staff was very nice and helpful guiding us through our first visit. Overall, we had a great meal and we'll likely come back again to try the burnt ends that were sold out.

Everything was great. The remodel looks fantastic. The portions were huge. We had the two person sampler and everything was cooked perfectly and there was so much. We took over half of it home if you like dry cornbread, then don't come here because there's is moist and flavorful. We had four different samples barbecue sauce and they were all good. Way to go and I hope this stays for a long time.

Party at BBQ Barn! Thank you Ryan

I love the pork belly burnt ends! The corn bread was delicious! The people who work there were very great!

We decided it would be a good idea to fill our tummies with some lunch before getting to camp and having to set everything up. The lady running it is pretty friendly, though she was out of quite a lot of things on the menu sadly (I couldn't get the sweet potato fries or the flavor of sauce I wanted... jeez). Pricing was reasonable, especially for canned soda and bottled water (just a buck!). I noticed as she was preparing that the Mac n cheese was just frozen Stoffers... lol. And the sauces are just Cattlemen's, but on the menu they've been "rebranded" as the food truck's own thing. Sorta lame/lazy but honestly I can't hate too much on her for that; the world is tough right now, so if she can just repackage yummy prepared food for others and make a decent living, more power to her. Everything tasted good ultimately. The wait time for preparation was acceptable. But my pulled pork sandwich was decidedly lukewarm. Dunno why. Could've used a lot more cabbage. There were a couple of tables with umbrellas around outdoors to lounge and eat, which was nice. The owner even wandered over while we were eating to ask how everything was.

It was the perfect spot for a casual evening out. We had a couple of drinks, a cider and a Japanese lager, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The musician playing that night was fantastic! He had a great song selection, and his voice was hauntingly beautiful. I'm not a huge barbecue person because I prefer my meals to have a little more variety than just meat, but I did enjoy the brisket and the pork belly. The sides were just okay for me. I'm from the South, where we take our potato salad seriously, so I wasn't the biggest fan of theirs but I did really enjoy the beans and the corn salad. I'll definitely be back for the music, a drink, and the laid-back atmosphere. It's a great place for a casual evening out!

Ordered the pulled pork sandwich which had a 60/40 meat to fat ratio and bun was quite soggy. Corn was not a Mexican street corn but good. Beans were actually the best. But the pizza! Off the charts!, FULL REVIEW of all Services: If anyone who enjoys hiking, river fishing, or just a general outdoor-focused vacation wants a good, simple getaway with their spouse/loved one, check out the Backwoods brand in Carson, Washington (just north-northeast of Bridge of the Gods/Cascades Locks). Backwoods Cabins offers a really great overnight stay option. The 8 cabins there are all basic "two-room" designs (bedroom and attached bathroom, and a living room / mini-kitchen room). The cabins sport king-sized beds, a gas fireplace and outdoor fire, a mini kitchen with refrigerator/freezer and microwave (no stove/range). I think 3 of the 8 cabins welcome dogs. The Backwoods brand also owns Backwoods Brewery, which is just across the road from the cabin property. They have great microbrew beers (from light lagers to GREAT stouts!). The brewery also has a smokehouse, with fantastic smoked brisket, pulled pork, and house-made sausage/brats. But even better, the Backwoods Brewery offers the BEST PIZZA I've had in decades. The pizza dough is a perfect balance of flavor and texture. It's not too thin and not too thick. The crust is chewy in the middle, with a great crusty edge and base. The red sauce (they also have a white sauce we didn't try) is thick and rich, with a few tomato chunks. It's got a slight spicy bite with a sweet finish. They also have some unique house pizzas. We tried the Whistle Punk - Red sauce, bacon, smoked brisket, peppadew peppers, sweet onions, fresh mozzarella rounds - and the Pepperoni Express - Red sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, banana peppers, smoked mozzarella. Both were outstanding. I'd go so far as to say both Donna and I deemed these the best pizzas we've had in 35+ years (noting that our first date was at a pizza joint in Fife we both thought was the best-ever pizza). If you stay in the Backwoods Cabins, you get two coupons for free drinks at the brewery (beer/wine/cider/cocktails) as well as an assortment of snacks for your hiking adventures, and a full S'mores kit to use over the gas fire pit. And if you are in a dog-friendly cabin, you get complimentary treats, and water/food bowls for your canines.

The pulled pork and veggies without the BBQ sauce is bland, with the sauce it's sweet, tangy, and has a tiny kick, but it needs salt to bring out all these flavors and to help balance to overall combination. The Mac 'n' Cheese was also missing salt, making it noodles in cheese sauce. Sadly the cheese sauce was also broke, which has a less pleasant feeling in the mouth. The flavor is stepped up if you get a bite of the bread crumbs on top (which has salt and garlic), sadly there is not enough crumbs to spread the salt to the entire dish. The Parmesan Truffle fries smelled wonderfully like truffle, but weren't too strong on the flavor. So that balance was nice, but they too were lacking salt. Service was good, and the woman running the truck was kind, friendly, and easy to talk to which helps the overall experience. Oh I should add I removed rice and such from the pulled pork and she was very kind offering a number of other options. :) Overall Salt could possibly raise this up a star. I had others in my family taste everything to ensure I wasn't missing anything, and there was consensus on the salt. So we shall give it another shot down the road.
