We stopped in here last night for a light meal. I looked on open table earlier to see about securing a reservation, but it looked pretty wide open. We figured we'd eat at the bar if we couldn't get a table - it was just the two of us and it happened to be freezing cold last night. Around 6:45 we walked in and were told there was no availability for at least 2 hours if we didn't have a reservation. The host also told us unfortunately the bar was full as well. We started to leave and were in the parking lot when we both stopped and looked at each other and decided to check open table - just to see if there was anything open. Lo and behold, reservations were available - several as a matter of fact. We made a reservation for 7pm (in 10 minutes) and went back inside. Needless to say it was a little awkward having just been told there was nothing available. The host said "We'll a table just became available". Really??? I still can't figure out why he would've told us they were full - when clearly they were not. Once we were seated we saw several empty tables. Regardless , the food here was delicious. I had lobster bisque and an appetizer of gnocchi bolognese and my husband had the French onion soup and escargot. The waiter didn't mention any specials to us (I don't know whether they had any to mention anyway) but he was efficient and the service was fine. The dining room had a great view and the sunset that evening was spectacular. We didn't have a window table, but it was beautiful just the same. Overall, I would probably go here again but thought it was really strange to be turned away initially. As a side note, we were both dressed fine - no different than most of the other diners. Weird. read more

Little pricey but good food and service. On a nice day eating outside by the water is very nice.

So this is a fun place for all and we pups are welcome outside on the patio and by the outside bar. We gets water and a special biscuit which also cleverly has a card attached for us dogs. The family had salads, avocado & lobster tower and the Brie burger. They seemed pretty happy with it all. I heard them say the service was great read more

Sunday brunch with an amazing view and enough cool air flowing from the fans to enjoy the July Florida heat, My husband surprised me with a prearranged and thought out date including a pitcher of sangria. It was made with Spanish wine and a berry burgundy which made it perfection. My meal was the steak hash which was filling and delicious. I especially enjoyed the wine sauce and mushrooms alongside the filet. My husband ordered the lobster scramble which had an interesting base and flavorful cream sauce. In typical fashion, we ordered two meals and switched half way so I am well versed to tell you both were great! If we go back, we will order the same thing but we may try the Crab Eggs Benedict in place of the lobster scramble to mix it up slightly. After we finished brunch, we took a stroll downtown Dunedin making for a perfect outing. I don't want to neglect mentioning that Shane sat us. We were warmly welcomed and he gave us some great information. Our waiter, Daniel, was also friendly, helpful, and added the right touch to our dining experience. Both were an excellent representation of good service. read more

There are some great menu choices here. It is also the best location in Dunedin. Unfortunately, it is really poorly managed. They just informed all of their rewards customers that all rewards points were "lost". I had thousands of points accumulated. I was told of others with more than 10K points. Years of savings (worth big $$) just vanished. Shame on Bon Appetit's management for not making this right with their most regular and loyal customers. read more

The weather was beautiful on Sunday so my friends and I sat at the outdoor bar. They gave heaters if it gets too cold. They gave tv's with all the football games and a fantastic view of the water. The bartender was awesome. We enjoyed espresso martini & nutty irishman martini. My friend had french onion soup and said it is the best! I have eaten inside as well in the past which is more upscale. Enjoy! read more

We had a delightful lunch for 3 at Bon Appetit on a Friday at 1 PM, where we sat indoors next to windows overlooking the water. Reservations cannot be made for outdoors and there was a significant wait. The service was excellent, the scenery exceptional, and the food was delicious. I liked that the service wasn't rushed, and that we were encouraged to stay and visit at the table as long as we liked. (There were enough empty tables mid-day to accommodate this.) The food has generous portions, the lobster rolls were great, and the food was very fresh. Free parking on site. read more

The view is amazing. This is why people come here, even though the food is subpar. A small piece of avocado toast with a "side salad" - more like a garnish- was $18. Ridiculously overpriced and nothing special. I tried a piece of the French toast, which was soggy on the inside. Water served in plastic cups, paper napkins.... yikes ok. We sat outside, so maybe it's different inside, but just not what I was expecting for a place that advertises itself as fine dining. Such a shame, as the location is prime, and they could do a much better job. read more

Omigoodness!!! First and foremost, Rachel from Chicago is AMAZING!!! If you are going to go to Bon Appetit ask for Rachel; Rachel went above and beyond. Rachel gave us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. She also brought freshly baked rolls. Rachel did everything to make our experience top notch! Now back to the food and ambience, the food was phenomenal, fresh and flavorful. We had drinks to start, my son and I had bloody Mary's, I had traditional and my son had the surf and turf. The Bloody Mary's were the best we have ever had! My son's girlfriend had the espresso martini and my husband had the mimosa. They said their drinks were pretty yummy too. I had the crab cakes Benedict, my husband had the Lobster egg pie, and our son and his gal had the avocado burrata toast; Holly added the shrimp to her avocado burrata toast. The guys shared the lox and bagel. Everything was soooooo DELISH! We're going back on Thursday for Rachel and the food! I'll try to remember pictures of the food. read more

Did I literally just come here for dessert at sunset? DAMN STRAIGHT I DID! The outdoor seating was amazing. The service was perfect! Still not impressed with the Hype of this Restaurant, they would Not be Favored IF it's not for its location! We've been here before, food does not Wow us by any means, good restaurant but expensive and hyped up due to view of sunset, otherwise....! We almost got up to leave... Lata on I noticed the couple who sat across from us One had Food in front of them and the other sat without food for a long while too, and it was 8:30 pm... no excuse for that! My parents really love the value menu for this place plus it's scenic location is very tough to beat. Meh. We did not do any inside dining so this is only about the outside area. It over looks the bay which is a HUGE BONUS. Love 1 person music that was not super loud and quite wonderful. Ambiance was good! Service did not meet our expectations. Ordered, then saw a special on the menu I would have liked to switch to. Waiter, Daniel, said he already put in our order, and, couldn't change it?! He didn't offer bread until we were finished with our meal, didn't refill our waters, and, left dirty dishes sitting in front of us for quite a long time! Food was just ok. Will not come back. read more

We stayed at the Bestwestern plus and saw this restaurant walking distance... the hotel receptionist said it was wonderful so we ventured over there after dropping our luggage off. We have been going to Bon Appetit for many years and never had a bad meal. It seems that since Crabby Bills bought them, the quality has taken a nose dive. Speaking with other friends in Dunedin and surrounding areas, we all agree the food has declined, yet the prices sure keep rising. The New England seafood linguini was ordered by 3 of the 5 of us at dinner and no one liked it. I ordered the surf and turf, supposedly filet and scallops. I got 3 chunks of meat that I know was not filet, one piece severely over-cooked, one raw and the other was medium. I could not finish the meal. The service was not bad, but definitely not on par. Based on our experience and many friends, we will not be returning. We picked this restaurant because of its beautiful view and we had out of town guests. Just not worth it anymore. read more

Spectacular! We had a family dinner for a party of 14 at Bon Apetit and it was perfect! From the drinks, to the food and dessert it was fantastic. Our waitress, Sierra, was top notch! Wow! So impressed by this place. Perfect location by the water. Great fun and friendly service and the food... oh the food was spectacular! The Greek salad was delicious and quite different. It came with potato salad on top, what I was not expecting but it was quite interesting. Also love the individual bread they serve before food. Reminds me of home bread. So soft inside and crunch outside and the butter melts on it. This place is a must visit if you are in Dunedin. read more

What a delightful spot right on the bay at Dunedin. We had a delightful view from our outdoor table. Our meal started with a delicious cup of french onion soup, with savory and perfectly caramelized high quality cheese. The soup broth was flavorful as well as uniquely flavored. We also sampled a greek salad, which was fresh vegetables, very high quality feta cheese, and anchovies. For our main course we had salmon, plated with fingerling potatoes and avocado salsa, and grouper "Bon Appetit", both of which we extremely high quality. Of note for both dishes was the exceedingly fresh fish and wonderful accoutrements presented with each. We did not have room for dessert but will hope to enjoy dessert on our next visit. We do intend to return! read more

Love the wide choice of quality food, yummy cocktails and beautiful view of the sea and the sunset.

We are frequent customers. Lately we come for a drink and snacks or a meal on the patio. Great atmosphere! Right on the water. Great for a sunset meal and cocktail. Bobby, Erik and Abby are great! My first visit to Dunedin ! Decided to try this restaurant on St Patty's Day. They were packed as were most businesses. Their staff was well coordinated - i decided to try their octopus dish with some sparkling wine ! It was very well presented - so tasty and cooked perfectly - their chef's are on point ! The next day I went back and had their Bistro Burger and have to say it was one of the most perfectly medium rare burgers with wonderful taste - did they use truffle salt ?? bam! Wait staff is professional ! View over the bay is spectacular. Your choice of dock bar or indoor seating meets any group's need. Highly recommend Bon Appetite! Sorry no pic of the burger ! read more

We recently recommended this restaurant to our family who was coming to visit Dunedin as we have previously eaten here and it was very good. Sad to say the quality and portions of the dinners were seriously lacking. Our waiter was terrible. He never came back to our table to ask us if we needed another drink and he completely forgot we grabbed him and asked for more water. Two of the salads had no dressing on them and we asked the waiter for more dressing which he brought us about 20 minutes later equivalent to maybe a tablespoon of dressing. The restaurant is situated with a nice view but the acoustics for indoor dining is horrible. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

I came in rough around 1:30pm and talked to the host up front. She was nothing more than rude after I asked generalized questions and gave me attitude. I have been going to this place for over 15 years as I was a resident of Dunedin before moving to a different city still near by. The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous, water views from inside sitting and amazing ocean views from outside sitting, your basically on top of water over looking the ocean, sunset time is most beautiful to me. They have a great bar outside and good cocktails, service is good, however it has changed a bit over the years especially since Covid. It's a great place for weddings, and or receptions of any sort as you can not beat the gorgeous views. Inside they have beautiful tropical leaves wallpaper, a piano that's gets played most evenings, and they have lights in their ceilings that look like shining stars. The food is good, takes a little while to get it, but it is great food. I definitely recommend this place especially for date night or anything romantic. read more
