Solid delicious food! We loved all the dishes and the Butter Chicken was the best. The garlic flatbreads are delicious and more then suitable as a Naan replacement. The rice is fantastic! These are trying times and this proprietor is working his butt off in impossible business conditions. I'm certain that when the owners of this restaurant were dreaming of what they wanted to create, this was not it. This is what happens when you compromise to the point where there is very little left to compromise on. It's under decorated, the seating is poorly designed, it's too dark and the music... George Straight... What in the world?!? I understand that you are in Cedar City. I understand that you may actually like this type of music. I don't. But, it would seem much more appropriate to be playing something closer to Indian entertainment and music. When I walked in there was only the children of the owner. They were far too busy playing on their phones to even bother looking up, let alone welcoming me. I walked entirely across the restaurant and tapped the daughter on the shoulder before shoe would even look up. The cook or maybe that was the owner eventually made his way out to take my order. In the meantime, they had received a shipment of food which was still sitting on the floor behind the register. And as I said, the children couldn't be bothered to even help even here. I ask what is good, the daughter makes a suggestion of the Chicken Tiki Marsala. I order that. I Chai Tea, which they were out of, I asked about regular tea. Sorry, no tea at all. You guys are in the same complex as a grocery store. Go buy some! I'm from the 5 star world where if a guest asks for something, you get it for them. Period! Even if it means getting in your car and driving to get it! You don't even need to do that! Just send one of your kids over and pick some up. I'm certain they are capable of that. The food was good. I asked for medium and the spicing was perfection! The rice was not basmati nor jasmine but cheap white rice with little aroma and little flavor. The chicken was industrial cut, large chunks out of a bag. I guess the real question here is what are the owners even doing at this point? What IS this?!? It's not fast food. It's certainly not full service. I ordered a slice of mango cake which was still frozen and it was brought with the entree. I think it's time the owners really look at what this place has become. If it were an animal it would be taken out back and shot! I used to be a restaurant owner myself and it's why I write these reviews. I'll bet honest with you. There were several times I wanted to just walk out. I didn't. I regret it now. I don't know what to tell you. When you decide to be serious about creating an experience, let me know. We walked in the afternoon and luckily the chef was willing to move from dinner prep back to lunch! This is a made from scratch place, so if you come off-hours, be patient while he prepares deliciousness! We got butter chicken and chicken tandoori and both were warm and yummy! We got a medium hot butter chicken and the spice was just right. The creamy sauce--yum! The tandoori was not over dry--so perfect! I ordered online and arrived on time at the time indicated on the order. When I got there, there no other customers in the store and just one guy working. He said the rice needed 10 more minutes. I had to wait 30 minutes. He said he threw in some extra bread but didn't say sorry and acted annoyed. At least take accountability if you didn't see the order when it came in. Don't lie. Disappointed and wouldn't come back. The food tastes fine, but probably would've tasted better if I didn't feel disrespected. I wouldn't have been mad about that had he acted professionally. I am new to the Cedar City area and I was looking for an Indian food restaurant to eat at because I loved the place in my hometown (My favorite restaurant). I came here and was disappointed, I had a very weird feeling as soon as I walked in but I shrugged it off (do not shrug it off). I would give this place -10 stars if I could. What food is this because this food isn't Indian. The naan is the store bought pita bread. The curries have coconut base gravy. We ordered Chicken Vindaloo and Lamb curry. They both look white and have tons of coconut in them. Nine if these curries should have any coconut in them and shouldn't be white. I would like to talk to owner to understand what they are trying to sell to people on the name of Indian food. Edit - I wrote the review when I was sitting there with my family and the food came. That's how bad the food looked and tasted. To add, both me and my 9 yo got stomach upset right after taking couple of bites. My son had a bite and I had a few and both needed to run to the bathroom. We felt really sick. I would say stay away from the place no matter how much do you crave "Indian" food. In the restaurant, there was just one employee who was taking orders, cooking, cleaning the tables, serving, taking phone orders. He was a one man show. I have eaten at this place twice and will not be going back. While the owner is a pleasant man, he works completely alone! He takes the orders and then goes back and prepares the food all by himself, and then serves it too. The wait was longer than at other restaurants and the amount of food was minimal! It was served on a large plate with just a thin layer of curry or masala (or whatever) and a tiny scoop of rice. Not enough for my husband at all! He had to go home and eat something else! The dish I had (Vegetable Masala for $17!!!) had no flavor! My friend ordered the same thing with medium heat and I ordered mine with mild heat. There was no difference! The place has no air conditioning and it was a bit warm in July! The owner was kind enough to bring out a little treat for our friend's birthday. But this place is way overpriced and no flavor! I wanted very badly to love this place, but it is three stars. To be fair, it's the only Indian place in Cedar City, so we will be going back. We ordered off of DoorDash, and it was very easy and the food came super quickly, so that was a plus. The Tikka Masala is pink? I've never seen pink tikka masala before, and it's okay. It just kinda tastes like chicken in sauce, but I ordered it mild so maybe when you get spicier there is more flavor. The butter chicken is good. I've never had butter chicken before, but there was flavor and I liked the sauce. Rice is also proper batsami rice, and I loved it. They don't call it naan, they call it flatbread. Which makes sense, because I don't think it is naan. We got the garlic naan and didn't really feel any garlic flavor. However it is good bread. 3/5, could be better but as the only Indian place in town we will be coming back for their butter chicken! read more

Came here for lunch while driving for 3 hours. I was expecting an Indian lunch buffet or one of those normal typical indian restaurants that I know of...well I was wrong. This is a small cute diner but I don't feel like it's truly Indian. Another thing is that this place shares the building with a barbershop...so the restroom is filled with hair. You order your food at the counter and they will bring it to you. If you do order any drinks you fill it up yourself. Water cups are next to it As well. But those cups are so tiny, you need to make multiple trips just so you can quench your thirst from all the salt. I order coconut chicken curry. Let me tell you that this was the saltiest and coconut less curry I've ever tasted. The nan they serve was for some reason perfectly round. It is definitely not hand made, but more frozen made. The food they serve as well is by plates. It's like those "lunch special", but they are charging regular full price for it. Another thing was that the staff here seem to be having a really bad day. I felt like she thought our English isn't good enough so she had to speak to us in a condescending way. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone...I think gas station food would be more filling and delicious than what you would get here. read more

Ok, at first I was a bit skeptical. Indian food in Cedar City? Pretty random. Cesar Q and I had seen the reviews and almost didn't stop in because we feared the food would not be good. We decided, why the hell not give it a shot? So pleased we did! As we walked in there was another table that was just finishing up so we asked them how the food was. The man who appeared to be a local said he loves the food here and comes in often. You place your order at the back of the restaurant and pay when ordering. I actually like this set up as you don't have to wait around for the check to come. When your done you just get up and go. They have a great selection of food. They offer a nice vegetarian selection too. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, one mild and the other spicy. We spoke with the man taking our order and I asked about the lentils. He said, "do you want the try the best ever lentils?" How could we pass this up? We said heck yeah! For a moment we looked at each other and thought, what the hell did we just what ourselves Into!? Well I'm so glad we took his advice. They were amazing! Perfectly spiced. The chicken tikka was all white meat which I prefer. It was tender and not dry at all. I can honestly say I loved the food here! The portions are just enough. Not to big and not to small. All things we tried were served with a fragrant rice and some diced cucumber salad. I loved the combination! We tried the naan bread and it was good just not what I'm used to. The man said they will be making a more traditional naan in the near future. I look forward to coming back to try it. I found out that the nice man that had been helping us was in fact the owner. He was a very pleasant man who has pride in his work. I think it's sad that there are negative reviews on this place. If you notice, the negative reviews come from people that don't actually use Yelp. It's the only reviews they have ever left. Pretty shady. If you like Indian food or are wanting to give it a shot, this place won't disappoint! I hope this restaurant sticks around as its that good. I would not even give this place a star if I could. We were traveling through Cedar City and decided to order some lentils for my mother in law. The guy that answered the phone did not know what dal tadka was and then hung up the phone in a very rudely. Since there was no other Indian options around we drove to the restaurant. Popped in to the restaurant tonight (in town from out of state). Really bare bones decor. One table had a few teenage girls and a parent. We waited at the counter for a bit and decided what we wanted from the posted menu (s?). Behind the counter written on chalk boards were items then on a wall were taped laminated menu pages. We opted to get veg samosas, paneer spinach and coconut curry vegs. Finally the owner came out and asked what we wanted to order. I asked how many samosas to an order. He relayed that they have no samosas as the fryer is broken. I said ok then we want the spinach... he stopped me and said they have no spinach. We said o.k. and apologized that we were going elsewhere. Depressing experience and a depressing establishment. The owner looked just beat down. This is my first time having Indian food in Utah. I wasn't expecting much but the man working behind the counter told me that I wouldn't be disappointed. I told him I like lamb, so he said he will make his lamb curry for me. I'm open minded so I said that sounded good. The lamb curry was really good. Some of the best I have ever had. I went with medium spice on it and that was what most Indian places I have been to do go their almost hot. It was perfect for my tastes and the portion was perfect. I will be getting food here again. I've eaten here a couple of times and picked up many orders, almost every time he's been behind schedule. Poor guy I think is a one man show. However, his attitude is horrible. I ate at the Bombay Cafe in St George and the proprietor there told me of his new store in Cedar. This is my first meal here and I love it! The place is bright and clean. Maybe a bit more could be added to the decor, but it's pleasant. I had the chicken vindaloo and my wife had the spinach paneer. And, of course, naan. I've never had vindaloo, and with the proprietor's suggestion, I have found my new favorite Indian dish. On a scale of 1-10 for heat, I chose 4...for me, it is tools. Maybe a 6 next time. My wife loved her dish too. The naan, not impressed. But, I came for the dinner, not the bread. Will return again. read more

I was really hopeful about this place but ended up really disappointed. I ordered the coconut chicken dish and 1 it looked nothing like the photo, which is fine but slightly disappointing considering the photo shoes a nicely cooked chicken breast coated with crispy coconut. And 2 the dish didn't even taste coconuty. It tasted like someone steamed a chicken (without an ounce of seasoning) and then mixed it into a can of cream of chicken. It wasn't uneatable but it tasted like something I would have made with my last $5 freshman year of college, bland and desperate. I also ordered the rice and naan but they were nothing special:(. I ended up only eating a few bites of everything and then I saved it for my friend who will eat basically anything due to their still missing ability to taste (thanks covid lol).
