It's a cute shop located in the heart of Rue Montorgueil, Paris. The staff was very nice, they accommodated us and spoke to us in English, once we couldn't speak French. There aren't that many seats inside but they do have seating outside which would be a great option when the weather is nice. Th food was probably a 7/10, as someone that loves Indian cuisine, I can say I've definitely had better. They do make the naan fresh in house as you order it so that was a nice touch! read more

One evening in Paris, we weren't quite sure where to eat and ended up finding Bollynan nearby. We love Indian food and the reviews were decent, so we decided to give it a try. The concept of the restaurant is sort of like a Subway where there's a buffet of food and you make your way down the line while your plate is filled. We both got plates with rice, a main entree and one side - I tried the butter chicken with sweet potatoes and my husband got the beef masala and white potatoes. We also each got a cheese nan and that nan went CRAZY. It was freshly prepared and whatever cheese they used was in the middle (rather than on top like we've had before) and was very creamy. So delicious! We both really enjoyed our food, I just wished I had gotten the plain basmati without the spices and added veggies because it had peas in it, which I'm not a fan of. Other than that, it was a quick and very solid meal! I'd recommend stopping by. read more

Should be a 4 star review but will give extra star because of plenty of vegan options. We tried to go to another vegan restaurant a block away but they had over an hour wait and the kids couldn't wait so we moved on. We stumbled upon BollyNan. The service was quick and friendly. The setup is like a quick take out asian restaurant ie 2 item plate served from a counter. Multiple vegan items on the menu. The flavor profile was not typical homestyle indian food. The food was definitely changed to accommodate the french palate. If you are looking for authentic indian food, this would not be for you. This is more a modern french take on simple indian dishes. We chose to sit down stairs. The kids loved it. The stairs down are winding and steep and the atmosphere feels like an old cave. Overall this is a reasonable option for one looking for a quick bite to eat with hints of Indian flavor. read more

My food was good but I think I had the wrong mixture of sides and I decided to not pay for wrap or bread to eat with this. All three a very saucey and it could of been better if I had something dry or rice to mix up the texture. All had too much sauce. Don't make the mistake I made and ate 3 things that have so much sauce. Dry and sauce would be best. read more

We discovered this early in our visit to Paris. The main and side dish options are very fresh and delicious and the wine options are nice and affordable as well. Each of the three times we have come here there have been multiple options and new options to choose from. Butter chicken, Chicken korma and chicken Tika masala are all superb. They also offer 4 sauces to accompany your meal. All are delicious but the vegetable chutney is indescribably delicious. We have named it "fucking delicious"! The naan is fresh as well. This is a great place to stop for a quick dinner, especially if you are looking for meatless options. I was staying down he road at an Airbnb for a week and was happy to stumble across this place on my first night in town. Prices were affordable and the food was very good and flavorful. I had rice and 3 of the vegetable options, and my mom really enjoyed the salmon she ordered. Love the name, love the concept, love the food at this high-end fast-food Indian on the rue Montorgeuil. I had been eying this place for a while but everytime I went by the line was so long that I skipped it in search of faster fare. Today, getting out to lunch before the crowds I finally tested it out and WOW, it's great. They have 8E-10E lunch menus that include one protein and two sides as well as a drink or dessert. I opted for the tandoori salmon with creamed spinach and lentils on the side and it was delicious and super filling. I also really liked the Indian rice pudding for dessert with nice chunks of dried nuts and fruits. I definitely plan on tasting the rest of the delicious items on the menu, including the amazing looking Nan sandwiches! read more

Bollynan is located on the cutest little street first of all so its nice to sit outside and watch people walk by. Now for the food... I had their chicken tikka masala, which was not bad. That naan was awesome though, they make it fresh and its pretty darn good. Ive had better Indian food but for being so quick and so reasonably priced its a good place to stop by if you're craving something different. The people working there all seemed to be very nice and it felt pretty clean so for all those reasons i would recommend it, but dont expect too much flavor (if you get the tikka marsala anyway). read more

I was unimpressed by Bollynan the first time I tried it, but decided to take mercy because it was their first day open, and thus they had run out of many things early on. I figured what I had tried were the second-tier leftovers, mostly from their insipid "franco" side of their "cuisine franco-indien," so I promised I'd eventually come back, in hopes of finding a better meal after they'd gotten their bearings straight. Bollynan offers - like many an ethnic take-out restaurant in Paris - a glass case of pre-made foods, ready to be scooped on to plates and re-heated. In addition to several Indian dishes, there are more "approachable" western dishes like roast chicken, green beans, and roast potatoes (likely from the location's past as a fairly decent rotisserie chicken take-out). Unfortunately, this second-guessing of the customer's sophistication and adventurousness leaks over to the Indian side of the cuisine, which is as bland and uninspired as the meat-and-two-veg next to it. The plus side is that there is no microwave here. Your entire plate is reheated in a normal oven. This is great for things like chicken, saucy vegetables, etc. This is terrible for things like rice, which dry out to a crisp during the reheating process. So in addition to being served the cheapest, lowest-grade, broken-ass basmati rice I've seen anywhere in the world, it comes to your table dried out. To remedy this, the server pours a pissweak sauce over the rice, which by some freakish black magic makes it both irreparably soggy AND dry at the same time. I may have mentioned that the food is remarkably bland. While there's a barely detectable hint of weak curry powder in some of the dishes, there's no aromatic "wow" that defines even the most poorly executed Indian food. Flavors are muted and indistinct, and the food seems there only to fill you up -which it does. Fortunately, the management at Bollynan have seen to it that there are three pathetic shot glasses of "typical" condiments on each table, most likely coming from a Patak's jar. The only one of these that has any flavor or heat is the lime achar, where the contents of one shot glass MAY be enough to flavor your meal -if you want your entire lunch to taste of cheap pickled lime and chili. Finally, there's the naan. The naan is quite good, if a bit tiny compared to other Indian spots in town. It costs more than at these other places and is not counted as part of the side dishes included with the meal, so you must pay €2 extra for it. It is actually made to order in a real tandoor oven (I saw them installing it myself), and is the only part of the meal remotely worth what is charged. And that's the problem. Start with 9-12 euro for a "formule" of a main dish and two sides, tack on at least €2 for a piece of plain naan (more for cheese naan), and another minimum €2.50 for a can of soda. A proper meal thus costs you a minimum of €14, for stuff that's of far lower quality and taste than what you'd get a 15-minute walk north in the 10th arrondissement. Granted, this is Montorgueil - the rent is higher and the people seated beside you are more likely well paid and white. "C'est normal," as Parisians say, right? To which I say FUCK YOU. Just because you've taken a cuisine a little more upscale by opening up in a nicer neighborhood doesn't mean you have to water it down. In fact, as an ambassador of your culture, it is your responsibility to make it better, more memorable, and equally delicious as what's available cheaply from your cousins in the ethnic ghettos. It is your responsibility to break the stereotype that ethnic food is only good or authentic when it's cheap and grungy. And it is your job as a god damn restaurateur to not serve mediocre crap. Unfortunately, while a few friends will get a laugh out of this review and applaud the return of my one-star hate machine, it will never get through to the masses who actually give this place repeat business and further encourage this kind of mediocrity. But if one of you out there gets the message, then my job is done. read more

Very reasonably priced fast food Indian food in Paris. That pretty much sums it up. The dishes are all laid out in a typically Indian Buffet style, and you pick your combination of items to fill your plate. Clearly the food has been simmering there for hours, so the quality can be a little uneven, the sauces a little watery, but the flavors are not half bad. The best part is the naan is cooked fresh to order, and with a cold beer, you cannot beat the experience on a cold winter night! As long as you are not expecting gourmet, you'll be satisfied. My wife wouldn't go back thought, because we have definitely had better Indian food (way better). But for what it is, and the price, you can't beat it! read more

Bollynan provides yet another original and affordable fast food option in the busy area around Montorgueil/Etienne Marcel/Place des Victoires. Though the name comes from their made to order nan breads, I usually brave the queue for tandoori salmon, basmati rice and a vegetable or two. Add to that a couple of pappadum (chick pea wafers) for crunch and a coconut milk dessert for the mid afternoon sweet craving and I'm good til end of day. OMG! Excellent food for a great value. One of our late night finds in Paris. My husband and I shared the vegetarian plate with the vegetable naan and my brother-in-law got the tandoori chicken plate. Do not miss the spinach when you go there. Service was excellent. What a disappointment. We ordered a chicken tikka masala with dal and spinach, and then a tandoori chicken with the same sides. As my partner said, "It's hard to screw up a tandoori chicken, but they sure managed to." The dishes and sides were tasteless and boring. While I did think the spinach was adequate (as others said, it was French fusion so not the traditional palak paneer), it did not resemble anything Indian, and I would have rather had it next to an order of steak. The tikka masala looked like it had been injected with food coloring instead of spices, and was slightly sweet. The dal was average, and to flesh out the flavor we mixed it with a touch of chutney, but even that did not help. Not worth the money. read more

This place tho- is clean and the flavored are perfect for the western person who wants to taste some authenticity.. Love that nan, all the cooked are very good as well. It's alright, an attempt at French/Indian fusion that doesn't really work if I'm honest. French style green beans and gratin dauphinois alongside chicken korma and slamon tikka massala served with cheesy naans. The cheese is basically laughing cow type...mouais, the price doesn't even make it attractive at 12€ a pop but it's Paris I guess. This place is fantastic. Food is well prepared. No hassle, no pretense, just friendly folks serving good quality food at great prices. Portions are good and flavors are well blended. Not a typical sit-down type of restaurant. You order at the register and then it gets served to you nice and warm at the table of your choice. Not a place to go for a date but certainly a great place on the go for a good comfort meal or when part of your regular dining routine. If you are American and used to Indian food prepared to the American palate, this is your place. Absolutely scrumptious! We happened upon this restaurant while strolling through the streets in Montorgeuil and were extremely happy to have found it. The employees are extremely kind and friendly and the food is delicious! Interior is clean and cozy. Great portions and very good prices. Fresh Naan, chicken masala, beef, daal, you name it. Served chipotle style on platters. Love the downstairs area, which is much cooler given the hot temperatures in the upper 80° when we were there!
