I've eaten Bold BBQ on several occasions. This is easily the best BBQ you'll find for miles around. Why anyone would opt for generic, bland, chain restaurant BBQ in Texas is beyond me when great local businesses like this are around. Bold BBQ has catered several work events for me as well as my own wedding. They are always top notch and very popular with everyone who has the privilege of eating their food. My personal favorites are the brisket and pulled pork. Good BBQ doesn't need sauce but their sauce is to die for! Don't forget their side dishes either...their potato salad is not like anything you've had before and their Mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort food. Bold BBQ will always have my vote for best BBQ in the Dallas metroplex and I will always use them for my catering needs and very soon...restaurant!!! read more

Great food love the daily specials. Too many flies but hey it's Texas it's hot but that's my only complaint

Disappointing. Wanted my usual 2 meat combo of ribs and sliced brisket when trying out a new BBQ place. On this Fri afternoon they were out of ribs having been consumed by a hearty RR crew from KCS (LOL, that happens). Instead the slicer offered me burnt ends in place of the ribs...yeah buddy!!! First, the burnt ends were awesome and lived up to their reputation as the "pitmaster's candy". They were cooked perfectly, had an excellent seasoning on them and melted in your mouth. Unfortunately, the brisket disappointed. Seemed overcooked. The slices crumbled into tiny pieces just by looking at them almost. There was a smoke ring, but no smoke flavor at all. If I had been served this with my eyes closed, I would have thought it was roast beef... without gravy. [Odd thing: the slicer cut the brisket at a 45° angle, outside to in, instead of typical vertical cut; I've never seen that before. I can't imagine what that accomplishes except to make the brisket appear thicker than it really is.] I had mac 'n cheese & potatoe salad sides. These were ok, nothing noteworthy, but I don't go to a BBQ joint for the sides. I'll probably try again but will leave the brisket with the slicer. read more

Very bland and dry meat. Sides were ok as well. Dickies is better and that's pretty bad bc I don't like Dickies!

Wylie finally has real BBQ! I forgot to ask for center-cut ribs, but, the flavor in the substantial bark made up for the dryness that's intrinsic in the little ribs from the end of the rack. The sausage is juicy and flavorful with a nice coarse grind. Plus, keeping in mind it's bbq, the prices aren't exuberant. read more

Such amazing bbq! We ordered both the brisket and ribs to go and they were both incredible. We even had them tonight (a few days later)left over, and I can't believe how good they still were. Both meats were juicy and flavor packed days after ordering. We will definitely be returning!! read more

There are so many amazing BBQ places in Texas, it's hard to earn 5 stars. These folks give it their best shot. The brisket was tender and juicy. Sauces were decent and I like that they're not a big chain. Service was fast and friendly. It was a little pricy but I think BBQ in general is pricy. read more

Must visit! Staff is very friendly, big smiles and positive attitudes! Space is rustic and designed very cleverly. Now, the food... yum yum in my tum tum! I had the brisket and Turkey with fried okra and mac n cheese! Brisket was moist and dripping with luscious juices. Turkey had great smoked flavor! Fried okra was fresh from the fryer, hot, perfectly seasoned and crunchy. The mac was chocked full of cheese and decadent and mmmmm. What else can I say? Just go people! read more

We had an absolutely wonderful lunch experience here. The smoked turkey was delicious, the macaroni & cheese was amazing, and the brisket egg rolls were to die for! Happy to have good BBQ in Wylie! read more

Tried this place out today and loved it! The brisket was amazing and so was the fried okra. The BBQ sauce they have on the table is absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the spicy one. Also got the sausage platter and it was sooooo good. Finished the meal off with a cold sweet tea and it was some of the best I have tasted. Glad the location is awesome as well as their is tons of shopping and stores close by. The staff was very friendly and service was quick! read more

I ordered sausage, ribs, mac n cheese, and potato salad. The sausage was absolutely juicy and basically melted in my mouth. The casing wasn't rubbery or chewy at all. Now I know where to go if I want juicy and tasty sausage. The ribs were ok, but I had some fat on them, which I didn't eat. Definitely not the best ribs like Blues City Cafe in Memphis, but they weren't bad. The mac n cheese was good and it did taste fresh and homemade. I could definitely taste the sharp cheddar. Now, the potato salad. It's my fault that I didn't read the menu about the potato salad. I prefer my potato salad to have sweet relish and mustard in it. They serve a mayonnaise based country potato salad and it was actually pretty good. The barbecue sauce was one that I have never had before. I'm not sure if they put oregano in this barbecue sauce, but it definitely tasted and smelled like oregano was in there. Maybe if I had the barbecue sauce more often, I would enjoy the flavor more. However, I wasn't too fond of it. Overall, I give 4 stars because the sausage was so succulent! read more

Great ribs the meat fell off the bone. Enjoyed the blue cheese coleslaw and green beans. Must say the cost was spot on, so many of the bbq places around here are way to high. read more

I'll just say this is not a BBQ joint for a black person. I know good bbq when i see & taste it, and this ain't it. Food was bland, portions were suspect, left very disappointed to say the least. read more

Food was great, especially for take out! Highly recommend! We will be ordering again!!!

WOOOOOOOOW! I love the vibe, music, and food. We ordered the brisket nachos and regular sausage. The nacho cheese was for sure homemade and the serving was perfect to share. The sausage had the perfect snap and smoky flavor. I had to get cobbler and I did not regret it so delicious. Will be back for that grilled cheese. read more

Excellent! Just picked up and all items wonderful! Brisket, jalapeño sausage, pulled pork, smoked beans, potato salad, Mac n cheese! BBQ is on point- perfect smoke flavor, love this place! read more

I've always liked this place and raved about how delicious their food is! Beyond disappointed with them tonight though. I tried to contact to place a to go order. They said they were not taking to go orders at this time and would not even take it if someone came in to the restaurant to place. I get restaurants are short staffed right now but this is beyond ridiculous that they turn away a customer that is in the restaurant to place a to go order! I'm assuming it's too much for them to plate the food in a to go box instead of on a plate... read more

I really want this place to succeed, not only because I love BBQ, but because they're local and in downtown too. We had brisket, turkey, regular sausage, ribs, beans and blue cheese cole slaw. Portions of meat were weighed before being plated. I understand the need to do this from a business perspective, but it's potentially off-putting to the customer, who will have a negative view of it if they think the portion is on the skimpy side (which I did.) Trust your employees to serve the right portion or train them to do so. Aside from the sausage, all the meat was dry and the flavor was very mediocre. If you make dry brisket in Texas, you got issues. The blue cheese cole slaw had too much cheese making the consistency thick and did not taste good. They have a bunch of unique soda flavors, but the lemonade I had was watered down and not very sweet. The beans were really good and the BBQ sauce was decent. But that was about all that we liked, and not worth coming back for. I'm suspect of all the positive reviews this place has, but maybe it's a consistency issue and we got them on a bad day. I do want this place to succeed, but I can't say I'll be back to find out. read more

I am soooo glad this place opened near my house. I went here on a Saturday night with my wife and 3 extremely picky kids. The food was amazing! We ordered two of the 3 meat plates and got the kids brisket sliders and shared everything family style. The portions are huge and this was plenty for a family of five to share. We tried each type meat they offered except the turkey, which they were out of. All the meat was super tender except the pulled pork, which was pretty dry. The rib meat just fell off the bones and the brisket just melted in your mouth. As for the sides we got several Mac n cheeses, okra, cole slaw, and beans. All of it was perfection. The okra is the best I've ever had, not sure what they cook it with, but it was addictive. We'll definitely be coming back here, great bbq, great service, and great prices. read more

So good! Love this place. Such a cute and homey atmosphere! The service was great! Very attentive to my requests, I thought I didn't get enough of their bbq so I had asked for more but it turns out the lovely girl who put my order together totally hooked me up already! I ended up with so much extra bbq sauce but I'm glad I did it cause I plan on eating it all :) read more

Bold BBQ Pit - Brisket, Hale peon sausage, cheeses potatoes and smoked beans. - Barbeque Near Me - Wylie, Texas

In the beginning the quality was amazing and the portions generous. The hash brown casserole was dry last time we ate here. The more I dine here the more I am less enthusiastic about eating here. They started with a bang and slipped away rapidly in my opinion. read more

I appreciate companies who put people before profit and when I find businesses that do that you will always have me as a customer. This BBQ is excellent, but whats even better is the staff. You always feel genuinely appreciated and welcomed. The place is clean and food is affordable as well. If you haven't tried it out yet then hop on Downtown and give to a go. You won't be disappointed. read more

Great barbecue at a great price!!! Everything tastes good here. The staff are friendly and your food is brought to you fast. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for good barbecue!!! read more

This was our second visit and high expectations based on our prior visit. However, what a major drop off. Ordered the special Frito bowl and what a letdown. The bottom of the bowl had an inch of water which made the chips soggy and the bowl not thick that should be with the brisket and beans. The bowl had no flavor whatsoever. My wife had a bland brisket sandwich that lack any flavor or wow factor. The side of Mac n cheese was subpar as well. read more

Terrible customer service was on hold for 13 minutes and never answered, called back another 5 minutes on hold and never came back to phone, I realize Fridays are busy but that is ridiculous read more

Great BBQ!! Loved the brisket and sausage. The spicy bbq sauce is to die for but gets super spicy after a few bites. Their macaroni and cheese is better than any Mac n cheese I've ever had. I could eat just a bowl of that!!! Bold will definitely be our new place to get bbq. read more

First visit. Everything was dripping grease except the meat. The brisket was moist tender and very good. The bread and the sides were covered in grease. Service was almost as bad as the sides. read more

If you want good Pork Sliders, I highly recommend them! The meat is amazing!! Good stuff! They also have Blue Bell Ice Cream! #Yum

My husband and I were in Wylie for a conference a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed a LOT of great Texas BBQ while we were in TX. Bold BBQ was definitely some of the best we had. I had pulled pork and brisket -- DELICIOUS!! My hubby had pork and chicken and enjoyed it very much. Located in a quaint downtown, it was a great place to visit. They kindly opened their doors and hosted some of us from the Christian Comedy Association convention and let us (hopefully) entertain their clients. Great place, wonderful food, excellent value, fun environment. I hope the conference is there again next year just so we can go back! read more

Oh man this is some of the best BBQ I've ever had!! The sauce is delicious and the meat is seasoned perfectly! Portions are a little small but the sides fill you up and they have a variety. My mom would kill me but they have the best potato salad!! So creamy and delicious I could seriously eat just that. They also deliver. read more

The first time I tasted Bold BBQ was when they catered our company Christmas lunch. That delicious BBQ is the same now as it was at our Christmas lunch. The tender beef and fall off the bone ribs are to die for. The potato salad is the best I have tasted since my granny made potato salad. And finish off your meal with the melt in your mouth peach cobbler. The owners and staff are top notch and the servings are plentiful. read more

We are so glad we tried Bold BBQ Pit! The food was amazing, and the service was equally amazing. We'll definitely be back!

Honestly I'm super picky when it comes to pulled pork and theirs is hands down the best I've had. It's so lean and full of flavor and their sides are delicious! read more

My husband enjoyed his brisket stuffed potato. I had the one meat plate of jalapeno sausage, mac n cheese and blue cheese slaw, and was not super impressed with any of it. The sausage had a very overly smoky flavor. The mac was average. Blue cheese slaw was interesting, but not sure I would order again. I will try the potato next time. read more

Let's start with friendly staff. The food meh, so it's cooked very well just missing seasoning. Juicy moist meat but no flavor, I had to use sauce to eat. I believe sauce should be optional not a must. The brisket egg rolls were something different yet good. Came with a sweet/hot bbq sauce that was delicious. All of the sides were good. read more
