This review is long overdue! Bolay is such a blessing for anyone who avoids gluten and/or dairy -- and it's wonderful for anyone trying to eat clean on the go. The bowls are reasonably priced and packed with flavor. My go-to is the regular Build-Your-Own Bowl. I choose sweet potato noodles paired with almond kale salad as my base, Brussels sprouts or sweet potatoes for veggies, and tofu (don't worry -- they have plenty of meat options!) for protein, topped with tomatoes, almonds, and pickled onions. It's so delicious and loaded with nutrients to keep me going. Not only is it healthy and satisfying, but the regular bowl is under $12! The staff is also generous with portions, making it an outstanding value. I can't recommend this place enough. I go regularly, and the food and service are consistently excellent. Ordered pick up here for the 1st time tonight, Sunday 1/18/26 using their website. Super easy. Chose ASAP pick up option and the build your own bowl (large) was ready in 6 min from ordering. Crazy fast. Just before getting the bowls home the car started to smell like the food and it was yummy. Opened the two bowls at home and they were chock-full of all the fresh ingredients we picked to the brim. Awesome. Didn't even need the two sauces they let you pick cuz the food was so fresh and flavorful. Every forkful had it's own unique blend of tastes and they were all great together. The chipotle sauce was tasty and light. The ginger tumeric had a great taste but was made with a mayo base I think and was just too thick/heavy. If they thinned it out a bit it would be perfect. This minor shortcoming was not enough to earn less than 5 stars. Enough food for 2 more meals, all for $10-15. Will Definitely be eating here again soon and frequently. With everyone doing the fresh healthy bowl casual dining, I figured Bolay would be similar to others I have tried before. To my surprise, I tried this location in Brandon and it definitely rivaled its counterparts Fresh Kitchen. My toddler had the pesto noodles and devoured it! I didn't even need to feed her. I had their rainbow bowl and the two chicken thighs were large, juicy and flavorful. My husband had the teriyaki bowl and the chicken was the delicious and personally their sweet potato noodles were better than others. Did I mention their bowls were 100% gluten free? The service is like a Chipotle where you start with the base of what you want, here, a bowl or wrap, and then build from there. You can also go with their pre-designed flavors, which we did. My wife ordered the mojo pulled pork bowl. This started with jasmine rice and was topped with kale salad, power beans, mojo flavored pulled pork and then topped with fresh pickled red onions, chopped cilantro and a savory, creamy, garlic and herb sauce. She really enjoyed it! I ordered the Steak au jus bol. This one also started with jasmine rice and was topped with a spinach and almond salad, fire roasted corn, steak au jus, parmesan, chimichurri tomatoes and the same creamy garlic and herb sauce. One stand-out was the steak. The steak was cooked medium-rare. It wasn't chewy or over cooked at all. It had great flavor and seemed to be top quality meat. Both bowls offered up fresh ingredients that had a mix of flavors and textures. Soft, crunchy, meaty, filling but not overly filling and just good. The mojo pulled pork bowl was so good that we decided to recreate it at home ourselves. We even pickled our own red onions. I'd say if you're looking for a lighter, healthier meal out check out Bolay. It's simple but tasty and won't leave you feeling heavy. She got a kids chicken bowl with the citrus chicken and immediately after eating it felt sluggish, then a stomach ache arose and she has already thrown up twice. She always has the same breakfast so I know it wasn't that. I'm giving this location a star for customer service but I'm extremely disappointed that going here is causing her to have food poisoning like this. *I contacted the general manager and he refunded our meal and told us that our next meal was on him. He handled my complain swiftly which I appreciate. I stressed to him how important proper cleanliness was and that they have an extremely important responsibility on their hands. I went with the pesto noodles, forbidden black rice, zucchini, fire roasted corn, and for the protein I went with the steak and shrimp. I was craving something a little healthier while I was in the Brandon area, and I found Bolay. You get to choose from some of their pre-curated menu "Chef Bols" or you can create your own with your choices of veggies, grains, proteins, and sauces. I did the build your own "Bol" in the regular size with 3 veggies, greens, or grains - I did the Asian sweet potato noodles (amazing!), the chopped kale salad, and the sweet chili brussel sprouts. For my protein I did the roasted salmon ($3 upcharge). I also added on fresh avocado ($2 upcharge) and goat cheese ($.50 upcharge). For my sauce, I did the creamy garlic and herb sauce. The "Bol" was absolutely delicious! I really want to try their other options, but the bowl I made was just so darn good, I may have to get it again! To drink, I had the Bolay Island Time strawberry orange juice. Make sure you shake the bottle, but it was so yummy and refreshing! I will definitely be back for more!
