Do you know how many times I wanted to visit Bolay in Uptown Boca? Well, today is that day. Uptown Boca was bustling with people and cars on a comfortably cool Saturday evening. As I entered Bolay, the restaurant was filled with people dining both inside and out, with more steadily coming in. I approached the counter and was greeted by an available employee. I placed an order for a large bol which consisted of 2 bases (Jasmine rice and spinach & almond salad), 2 veggies (bean medley and roasted sweet potatoes), 2 proteins (teriyaki & lemon chicken), up to 3 toppings (pickled onions and cilantro), and 2 sauces (cilantro lime vinaigrette). The bowl was filled with my selections, and every bite was tasty. The Jasmine rice was cooked to a soft consistency. Both the teriyaki and lemon chicken were tender and full of flavor. The bean medley and sweet potatoes were prepared to my preference, and the pickled red onions enhanced the food with its tangy flavor and crisp crunch. The same could be said for the cilantro lime vinaigrette, which added a tangy creamy taste to the food. Overall the ambiance at Bolay - Boca Raton was chill, the service was satisfactory, and the food was thoroughly enjoyable. I look forward to my next visit. read more

I still love Bolay. I come here whenever I'm too tired to cook and I'm not going to eat fast food. Last night, however I found a screw in my food. :( So random. I contacted Bolay and the manager did make it right, it was just a very weird situation and hopefully just a one off because nothing weird like that has ever happened before. They did tell me that a new grill was installed so maybe that's why that happened. I am going to continue going to Bolay, as long as my bowls continue to be screw-free. lol read more

Bolay hate to see me coming lol! One of my fav go to for lunch. I order several times a month from this location. Food is always fresh, flavorful, ready when I order for pick up. They accommodate large requests. I've tried different things but the teriyaki chicken bowl as their sweet potatoes have to be my absolute favorite. Stopped in for dinner. Lots of parking available. The dining area is sizable and clean. Music was way too loud and the playlist was horrid. Staff was friendly. Took about 5 minutes to get the food from start to finish. Pretty good selection of vegetables and proteins. I went with the black rice, kale salad, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, miso tofu and grilled salmon. It was pretty good! The salmon was hot and fresh and I particularly enjoyed the earthy flavor of the black rice which always like but rarely eat. Only thing I didn't love was the sweetness of the tofu glaze. It was OK though. Overall. I'll give Bolay 4 stars. I'd definitely check them out again. read more

unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I waited for my cooked fresh salmon for a while. Only to get home and get totally grossed out. On top of that as I was waiting I noticed there were flies around the food area--definitely not what you want to see when you're about to eat. To their credit, the gentleman who served me was polite and professional when I brought it up. However, when I mentioned the flies to a young lady working there, she seemed indifferent or unsure of what to do about it, which didn't inspire much confidence. Cleanliness and food safety are non-negotiable, so I hope they address these issues soon read more

Can't get enough of Bolay! Me and my girlfriend came to Boca for some shopping, glad that there's a Bolay in the area. Always like the deco and color theme. There's even an elegance sink in the seating area, no need to go into the washroom to just wash hands. The food is as good as usual. I had yam noodles, grilled broccoli and mushroom with teriyaki chicken. YUM! The regular size is perfect for ladies. The service is good too. Well trained employees, nice and friendly. read more

I love and frequent Bolay And was excited to see that they were now offering salmon. As a pescatarian, my only option was the Thai shrimp which has a sweet flavor and I prefer my food savory, so I excitedly ordered the salmon. Sadly, the salmon was also sweet, it even tasted like there was cinnamon on it!!! Everything else was awesome as usual: clean restaurant, nice atmosphere, & friendly service. Food is still pretty good and healthy but not what it used to be. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Black rice changed and not for the better, allergen menu no longer specifies tree nuts in black rice is only for coconut milk (which most are ok with and FDA doesn't even consider a tree nuts any more), and online ordering for regular bol menu says 3 toppings but doesn't specify avo is additional charge and when ordering staff doesn't advise either until you reach the register. It is also upsetting that the hot food line was always nut-free and now there are almonds. It is too close and risky to cause cross contamination, and the manager no longer comes out to safely prepare free of allergen. Good with room for improvement to hopefully return to its great roots again. read more

I've been a fan of Bolay for several years.' Ever since I went to a Yelp event when they first opened in West Palm Beach. Since then several Bolay restaurants have opened locally. Now it seems like a lot of restaurants have copied Bolay, serving a whole meal in a bowl. I've eaten at several similar restaurants and I think Bolay is the best. The food is fresh and tasty, the people working the line are friendly and helpful, and prices are reasonable. This Bolay opened in Boca Raton a few months ago. I gone several times and it's always good. I usually get the large size bowl even though it's more then I usually eat. I save part for the next day. The bowl always tastes as good the next day as it did when I first ordered it. Occasionally menu items change. I think they should change more often. It would be nice to try more new items. If you're in a hurry Bolay is a great place to go. The food is already prepared, although they're always bring out fresh food, and the serving line goes quickly. There's plenty to eat for vegetarians. My favorite is the vegan miso tofu. It's delicious. . read more

Recently, I decided to order ahead using the newly acquired Bolay app on my phone. I was hesitant; however, after joining, and before ordering on the app, I checked my email to be pleasantly surprised to see that an offer of $5 off my first order was gifted to me. Upon looking in the app, sure enough, there it was. Yay!!! I ordered my custom bowl, and with great alacrity of being able to get those delicious sweet potato noodles and customizing what I wanted to have. After I ordered and paid in the app, a notification popped up informing me the order number and when to expect to pick it up. (You are also given other options of curbside and delivery too!) I figured I had time to run an errand before doing the pick up. This Bolay location is along the back wall of the Uptown Boca shopping center on Glades Road near Lyons Road. Parking spots are along the sides close to the restaurants but are not easily attainable, so since it wasn't a rainy day for a change, I parked further out in the parking lot and went to pick up my order. It was ready, and the young lady at the register was immediately ready to assist in giving me my order. Very clean inside, and plenty of people were sitting at various tables eating their customized bowls. To my delight, when I arrived home, there was a sweet inspirational message written on top of the cover of the bowl. It simply said, "Love Yourself". It made me smile and, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal; especially, those sweet potato noodles that I had my heart set on to begin with. Boy, were they yummy and, I highly recommend.
