I thought the two sides that came with the combo were delicious: the slaw was tangy and complimented the heaviness of the chicken and the fries were crisp and delicious in the extra sauce. Their bok tots had some sort of a mild blue cheese dry rub on them (I also don't love blue cheese, but these were good) and had a flavorful fry sauce with them. A great alternative to your usual chicken place. Near BYU campus, friendly service, clean place, great for takeout I got the best seller--the boneless chicken strips with choice of two sides. These are nice pieces of chicken, not specks of meat drowned in breading. There is just the right amount of crunch and a great house sauce that has a sweet/spicy tang. I was happy to see that the fries are crispy enough that they didn't lose their crunch by the time I opened the takeout box. If you don't want two sides you can double up on one, but I did the slaw along with the fries as a small gesture to the existence of vegetables. The Korean fried chicken has a unique texture that sets it apart from the many other chicken places in Provo, and the portion sizes are good. The sauces and seasonings used are very flavorful, although sometimes on the sweet side. Unfortunately, the experience at Bok Bok holds it back. The building is quite old and the industrial aspect that is normally behind the scenes at restaurants is what draws your eyes, which makes me sad because there is such a pretty mural on the wall. Stuff like the syrups for the soda machine, salt for defrosting sidewalk ice, etc. The bathroom is down a creepy, musty, hallway and is pretty gross. The doors aren't insulated so it is either freezing or burning hot inside. When I went they had multiple space heaters plugged into the wall to try and help. So much garlic that my tongue and throat were burning after eating half of the chicken. I couldn't finish the meal and wish I had ordered one of the other types of chicken. The chicken was nice and crispy though which was really nice. The fries had a really good crisp to them, but don't get them if you need a sauce to dip them in (like ketchup) because there is none. My food tasted fine with the exception of lacking the expected spice level. this place was so yummy. i had the regular house spicy with fries and cole slaw. at first i was a little skeptical about the price and portion size - i do think it is a tad bit overpriced. i mean, 10$ is a little high for me personally considering the only thing unusual and unique is the Korean chicken. There's nothing crazy about the fries and the cole slaw simply had some sort of dressing on it, but it was very good. i like the breading. the chicken was not dry but perfectly cooked and the fries are double fried and you eat until they are all gone. the other thing that i would suggest is for them to allow more than one sauce. i was super bummed I couldn't try the garlic sauce as well as the house spicy sauce. i would love the option to have more sauces than just one. maybe that would let me think 10$ for chicken fingers is worth it... but I did enjoy it and i would recommend this place to others! Now the ingredients are a good quality, the price is reasonable and the quantity is large but the quality of the flavor and the breading of the chicken sandwiches needs to be changed. There is a lot of flavor going on with the sandwich but the flavor is overly sweet. There is a lot of breading for a little bit of chicken and the breading was a very sweet tempura flavor. I got the boneless with the sweet garlic sauce and the sauce was a garlic OVERKILL. The only thing I could taste was raw garlic. The chunks of garlic in the sauce are big and there is WAY too much. That's not a great sign if you're a chicken restaurant but it keeps us coming back. We have tried three of the four options on the boneless chicken. Just can't bring myself to try the snow chicken.
