The tv commercial for the grilled chicken rice bowl looked very appetizing so I gave the place one more chance. I waited a long time while they filled drivethru orders. Then I waited for my rice bowl for another long time. It's important to get a sauce with it as it was dry & mushy. I found a long piece of the plastic covering in my mouth. I had so far had a good day & didn't want to spoil it by returning the unused major portion back to the counter but they probably would not see it sitting there for 2 hours. So I was in on 7-26-24 as my wife and I wanted chicken I order an 8 piece 3 breasts 5 wings my side were Cajun beans mash potatoes and gravy and green bean . I was charged extra for the breast and the Cajun beans and green beans total 38.67$ the thing that is upsetting is they gave me 1 breast 2 thigh's 5 wings not even the worst . The worst was having a long black hair in the Cajun beans the chicken was cold and the wings were dried out like they had been sitting for hrs the half gallon of tea had to be poured out do to it being spoiled I wish I could say the biscuits were ok but not cold and hard . I ask for honey the biscuits and none was given. And to top it all off the place was filthy I walk with a cane and the floor was like walking on cooking oil very slippery trash on tables if the front of the house looks that bad I can only imagine what the back of the house looks like. I am not sure why this store might get a bad review. I go to this store specifically at least once a week for a Bo Cajun Fillet with Egg. First of all, I think Bojangles Cajun Fillet with Egg is the best breakfast sandwich anywhere, so I am biased. Always nice folks at the speaker and at the window and I always get what I ordered. I give this store 5 stars for a fast food, drive through, take out breakfast. If I was looking for a Michelin star establishment.... You are supposed to be a chicken restaurant yet you keep running out of chicken and telling the customer they need to wait 15-20 minutes. Or you do t tell the customer until after you have taken their money. The best for all parties involved here is to shut this place down. Good little chicken place -- nice to see it back in RVA! While I generally prefer Ukrop's/Martin's fried chicken (mostly for side dish and dessert related reasons), Bojangles' chicken is pretty good. I particularly like the spice associated with it; it tastes like they marinate their chicken in a combination of buttermilk and hot sauce, which gives it a great kick compared to the fairly bland competition at KFC. It also is in the meat itself, under the skin -- they do not rely on the breading alone for flavor. Score one for Bojangles. Sadly, their sides are fairly limited (french fries, "dirty" rice, green beans, etc); decent, but not extensive. I'd say the options at Popeye's (jambalaya, cajun rice, red beans, etc) are both better and more extensive. Score one for Popeye's. Another detractor for me is the limited dessert menu (I have a wicked sweet tooth, so this is an embarrassing showstopper for me). As best as I can tell, their best dessert is is a "BoBerry Biscuit", essentially the same biscuits that they serve with dinner, except with blueberries and lightly iced. Okay at best. We got 6 with our dinner combo for $2.49 and I'd say we overpaid. Score one for Martin's. On the plus side, their tea is pretty darn good. I am a huge fan of the tea at Chick-Fil-A, and I'd say that the tea here is just as good, if not better. The tea at CFA can run the spectrum of sweetness, at times crossing into too sweet; the tea here was a good amount of sweet without turning into a brown simple syrup. In summation, Bojangles' chicken is good, but that's about where their edge stops. It looks like they have a decent looking breakfast menu, along with several good looking sandwiches, so I may be back to try some of those. That said, not sure if the chicken alone is worth a repeat visit. We'll see. read more

Terrible service consistently! I have been to location #1178 several times and every time, they are extremely slow in the drive through. Most recently, I ordered 2 kids meals for my son and daughter. There were 2 cars in front of me. I waited 25 minutes in the drive through, 10 min at the window. When I got home, the 2 kid's meals had a biscuit and fries with NO chicken in either one of them!! Let me say that again-this is Bojangles and they didn't give me chicken! I was so upset that I waited almost 30 minutes and still didn't get what I went for. When I called, they were less than apologetic or helpful. I will never go there again! The management sucks and Westine (the drive thru employee), you suck! If you are fond of terribly prepared, cold, old food.. incompetent employees, and a dining area in disarray this is the place for you. We have had numerous poor experiences at this establishment . Most recently the person at the counter was not at all familiar with the menu and apparently couldn't even read it. The staff was mostly interested in loud horseplay instead of stocking and cleaning the dining area. We waited for them to prepare chicken which they served with greasy ,cold fries.We have learned our lesson and will not go back. I did write a complaint about 2 weeks to the Bojangle's corporate office with details of poor experiences with dates and times. We never received a response. Today was my first time ever going to a bojangles location..and let me first start off by saying I am a very strong and blunt person when it comes to food and service, and usually when i am writing a review it is 80% of the time a negative one..not today!! I was very much pleased with the service and the food! The deals are great and the manager running around asking everyone if they need anything needs a raise! You don't find management like that! Worst service Ive received at a fast food restaurant in some time. Stood at the register for no less than 5 minutes with a line behind me, while two employees clocked out and one more clocked in. Whole staff was more interested in discussing how long until they quit than they were in serving anyone. Paid a reasonable amount of money for my food, but didn't get everything I paid for when I left. Furthermore, money didn't leave my account for two weeks, causing me to overdraft because I expected this business to have its shit together and budgeted around that. Obviously I was expecting far too much. Thanks to my overdraft fee, I have effectively paid triple the price for my meal two weeks ago. Fan-fucking-tastic. I was wondering why I hadn't eaten at a Bojangles in almost three years. Now I remember why. One star, only because it isn't possible to give out negative stars. This location has stepped up its predictability and service. I have returned quite a bit since opening. It is still somewhat hit or miss though. Some times the bacon is awesome, absolutely awesome, absolutely crazy perfect and other times it is greasy and limp. The same is true with the biscuits, some times they are nastily slopped in grease, sometimes they are way to dry and sometimes they are perfect. Over the last year though they seem to be getting better in their speed and service. It's the Bojangles closes to my house, and I drink quite a bit, so I can obviously be found here going through the drive through Saturday and Sunday mornings to cure my hangovers. read more
