Had to fire him from my jobsite even before he got started.
Could sense something was off with this guy.
Showing up 2 hours late on initial consultation without calling or texting (i had to text him asking where he was at) this should have been my first red flag but I pressed on.
In any case, I decided to research this guy cody, looks like he was doing business as another named drywall company before this one and has many reviews mentioning his unpredictability and attitude.
So I decided to fire him before we got too deep into the project and I regret it.
Took him 2 hours to even respond and on phone told me "F-U and I'll beat you a**" then continued to blow up my phone with 45 scathing text over the next 45 mins. Had to involve the police.
All it did was confirm that I did the right thing getting rid of this guy, could only imagine if I figured this out half way through his work in front of the home owner. I'm also pretty certain he does not have an active contractors license or insurance for the work he planned to do. He would not provide that info.
Since that time he has harassed with over 200 text containing personal threats ("I'll come to your house tonight" "You better bring your atm card to me to fill my truck with gas, or else") along with way more insults and threats including threats of taking out a lien for payment. (Of which you can not do if you are unlicensed like he is.)
Ultimately I was surprised, because online I saw so many good reviews, (makes me wonder if they are real) but the bad ones definately seem to be accurate and similar to what I experienced. So my advice: HIRE at your own caution. Do research!
Look up "Boise Drywall Pros" reviews on Google.
If it mentions cody.... notice those reviews.
Also Look up "Cody Colton Drywall" on Buildzoom. It's the same guy. read more
