I called him in 2016. I called him at-least 10 times. THE TOTAL REPAIR WAS $8000. The engineer said the re-roof had improper ventilation by roofer. I had water damage in 3 rooms (bedroom, guest restroom and washroom) consisting of drywall damage,…read moreinsulation damage, base board damage and pergo/laminate floor damage. I contacted Sefik after contacting 2 other contractors. I had found Krajina Construction through the Better Business Bureau website and had a good rating and all necessary licenses up to date. Sefik came the same day for a review of the work and emailed me the quote that night. After reviewing his quote and comparing to another quote from another contractor I decided to hire Sefik. NOTE: This work was completed at least 1 month ago. I was quite satisfied on the day the work was completed (6 days of work total) but wanted to wait this long to give myself time to evaluate all the work done and do a "burn test" of the work. Sefik's work consisted of: - removing the damaged baseboards, drywall and insulation - replacing the damaged drywall and baseboards - taping all edges (90 degree corners and all other angles and curves) - matching the texture as closely as possible of the existing wall to the new drywall - painting of the new wall / baseboards During the removal of drywall Sefik also noticed a few improvements that needed to be made while the drywall was down in the wash room. Some of the plumbing he had noticed (and I confirmed) was not working correctly. Some of the shut off valves were frozen and needed upgrading to existing code and better parts. Again I knew of the frozen valves at least 2-3 years ago but was not in need to change them. Sefik did notice the valves and recommended the changes happen with the drywall down because any work done later on by another person would require ripping out a section of the new drywall he was putting up and repairing again. For this piece Sefik did the following: - cut and removed the defective hot / cold water valves for the washer - installed a new up-to-date box to hold the valves - installed the new valves and tested Other notes: - Cleanliness was great. Sefik lay down paper on all floor he would be working around to keep any dirt, dust, nails, texture and paint mess to a minimum - He swept each day all areas of the house that he was in - He was on time every day showing up at 8AM (as we confirmed each day) and/or within +-10 min of the hour - The work was completed 1 day over due to the extra work needed that was not found during the initial inspection. This was noted and approved by me in advance but mentioned here as sometimes the work reviewed at the time does not reveal all the damage once the work begins. - Overall quality of the work was awesome and I have kept his card on file for other work to be done in the house over the next couple of years (redo of kitchen (oven, stove, countertop etc) Give Sefik a call and at the very minimum get a quote and see what he can do for you. - taping the edges

Steve was very friendly and educational on what he was going to do vs what other contractors do, cutting cost and efficacy. I asked about prices. Steve wasnt extremely low on price, trying to get the job not was he ridiculously expensive. We scheduled a couple days out and he arrived at his scheduled time. (We had the bathroom tile installed, backsplash removed and installed, sub-floor/laminate ripped out, base boards cut and installed and a new toilet added) Steve got to work with his son, cleanly. I left him at my house alone Bc I had to go to work. I had valuables on the counter and not one thing was touched or missing. Steve was communicative through the whole process, even when I was not at home. I asked questions throughout and he gave me choices. I am EXTREMELY pleased and excited with the work. I'm OCD so inspected every inch of his work. All the fine details are perfect (grout is even, cuts are straight, nicely cleaned up the work area). All said and done, for 2 half days of work I paid $1000. With all the reno's we are doing Steve's business was the smoothest, clearest, and most efficient. We hired him and his father to build us an outdoor kitchen. They quoted us 6 to 8 weeks in the beginning and we were very patient with him all last summer when we started the project. All the sudden they started dragging their heels and things weren't getting done. Messages would go unanswered and he would say he was coming and not show up. Matt had issues with the countertops to begin with and changed to butcher block assuring us that the butcher block was made for outdoors. We never even got to use the kitchen before the countertops were completely cracked and warped . Instead of fixing it he knocked the price down because he did not want to have to take care of the countertops. We did agree and asked him if he could at least come and fix the concrete that wasn't setting right. After I realized what a nightmare job he did on the pizza oven I asked him if he could repair it, not once did he answer me or acknowledge the issues with the pizza oven. He told me prior to us hiring that he had indeed built another pizza oven. I am doubting that at this point since the pizza oven is now cracking and heat and smoke ks coming out of the cracks. This pizze oven also smokes from the front when the smoke should be going out of the chimney. After researching I found out that a chimney for a pizza oven needs to be a minimum of 6 inches in diameter and he put a 3 inch flue on there. This whole process has been a disaster. The bricks are now falling off on the kitchen sides and we have continually had to glue them back on. We had another contractor out to finish the countertops for us and he pointed out that the kitchen sink is not plumbed right and there's no way to blow out the pipes ao they won't freeze. They also put no insulation around pipes going to the house.
