I had a bathroom remodel project and wanted to replace my water heater and softener. I got 4 estimates from Yelp's 5-star rated contractors and was surprised by the variation in the estimates. VIP's wasn't the cheapest bit but his was the only estimate that gave me the confidence he would do a professional job. Plus VIP was the only contractor experienced in installing a recirculating on-demand water heater. Other bidders told me that it wasn't possible! All flooring contractors refused to glue solid hardwood floor into my cement foundation home, but he did and it looks awesome! This guy's puts all other "Licensed" contractors and handymen in Sacramento to shame. What can I say about Vadim, he's honest, does great work and always has my best interests at heart trying to help me save a buck. I've dealt with lots of contractors in Sacramento when I was remodeling my 1915 craftsman home in East Sacramento and they were all nightmares, overcharging and doing poor work. Ultimately they would never take responsibility for their jobs like professionals. Vadim was the opposite, doing great work, and charging me well below market rate to do the job. I had to pay him more because I don't think he charges enough... The only challenge is that Vadim is he's soo good, that everyone wants to hire him and there is not enough of him to go around. That's why there are complaints on YELP about not being super responsive to emails. And what's with the guy complaining about the whole "License" thing? Sounds like Vadim's competition bad mouthing him because he does better work at better prices... If you have an opportunity to work with Vadim, you will not be disappointed and once you establish a relationship with him, he will treat you like family. And that's something very hard to come by nowadays. read more

Wow. Amazing job doing tuff around our house that we didn't have the tools for. So glad we found him. Emailed me back the next day. Answers calls promptly. He put in 2 cat doors, created an entire pull out garbage can where an old unused compactor was taking up space, shaved the height of a bathroom door that couldn't close over rugs, and fixed an annoying corner of the kitchen where the molding was just wrong wrong wrong. We will 100% be calling him again and highly recommend. Oh and he fixed our shed door that was being held closed with a concrete block so now we are slightly more classy. read more

I met Vadim on a job I was working on, I was impressed when I saw the work he had done. I asked him some questions about his background and what kinds of things he could do competently. Vadim has a background in custom cabinet making for starters, and you can tell by how tightly, and clean his cuts are. You will find with a lot of carpenters, and the likes, they are all not created equal. They will piece things together, leave gaps, and just not put together a great end result. Vadim is a pro, he is really talented, and I have seen many many jobs over the years, so I have a good base to compare him to. I tell almost all my clients about him because there is usually something that needs repair, or even just something that a client has dreamed up and they want to see it become a reality. A recent job I had him called to, he was there to fix some dry rot, and ended up building a custom deck with an outdoor shower. It looked fantastic, and the owners were so happy with his work. Vadim is also funny, he has a great personality, and is easy to be around. He is my go to guy when it comes to all things construction, he gives me peace of mind when I recommend him to clients. When he came he was running late but he had texted me ahead of time to let me know. When he showed up he was ready to go and single handedly assembled the crib, changing table and rocking chair. It took him a bit longer than he estimated but he stuck to his original quote even though it was only an estimate. The job he did was outstanding. He was friendly and fun to talk to. Yelp has proved again to be a valuable source for good referrals. My email request was initially for a front door repaint after having much work done to my home exterior. Response was received immediately and communication was maintained as my initial request changed to having valances/cornices built for my newly installed Hunter Douglas window treatments that were in serious need of that additional touch. Vadim is THE BEST!!! He is very professional, trustworthy, his prices are competitive, and his work ethic is beyond excellent. If you want someone who is very experienced in everything (and I mean everything) and treats your home like it's his own home then look no further. So far he has installed a shower door, mounted a huge TV on the wall, painted walls, installed cabinet hardware and he did everything with such perfection. Vadim had great suggestions for so many things my husband and I were confused about. An example is when I wanted a pocket door to divide our bathroom and master bedroom, he suggested we go with standard 2 doors that open out because it looks nicer, less maintainance, will be more sturdy, and cheaper than installing a pocket door. Vadim takes pride in his work and it shows, everything he works on from small to big projects are done on time, beyond perfect and no mess left behind. In 2 weeks we are getting doors installed in master bedroom to separate the bedroom & bathroom which has a standing shower with clear glass. Vadim was a breath of fresh air and I am so happy that I found him on Yelp. We had a couple of things that needed addressing. We had just purchased a new counter depth fridge but it was slightly taller than our old one and so the base of the cabinets needed to be sanded in order for the fridge to slide into the space. We also had a dishwasher that was not draining and were looking for someone who could fix both our issues. I called up Vadim and described the issues and he told me that he could fix them both but was extremely busy for a couple of months. I think he heard the disappointment in my voice coz he then offered to do it on a weekend if that was ok with me, and I accepted. Vadim did a very professional job on the cabinet and then took apart the dishwasher to discover that the unit itself was fine and that it was the drainpipe that was clogged. He drove over of HomeDepot and bough a new pipe and put the dishwasher back together and it is working perfectly. He charged me by the hour and gave me the rate before I set up the appointment. There were no surprises on the day the job was done and the final charge for both the jobs was extremely reasonable. Very professional, excellent attitude and yes very honest as well.
