We did a lot of shopping around for new carpet and flooring, and were referred to Great Floors by a business acquaintance. The sales staff were knowledgable and explained the pros and cons of different selections. We decided on carpet in the living room and bedrooms and vinyl plank flooring in the bathrooms. First the good, they have a large selection. The lady at the desk as you walk into the store was very kind and warm greeting us. That's it for the "good". Now for the "bad"...The salesman that came over was rude and dismissive. He did not give his name, but he was middle aged, bald and had a goatee. After a less than warm and helpful interaction with him, he left us on our own. Most of the displays didn't have pricing and no salesperson to answer our questions. We will not be going back. Brad communcated well, installation of our SPC plank flooring was great, but we should have been warned (1) our baseboards would be removed & reinstalled & would require repainting, and (2) there would be EXCESSIVE dust (we expected dust, just not excessive - A THICK layer was deposited everywhere in our great room. If warned we'd have covered everything. Also there were two full boxes (about 50 sq ft) of flooring that weren't used, plus other pieces...ordering extra for 'waste' is good, but that much waste expected on a 290 sq ft space is overkill and we had to eat the cost and will never use those extra boxes. Great product; need a 'warning' handout; over-estimating waste. read more

Very interesting... Within 24 hours of posting our previous negative review, low and behold Patty called. Patty spoke to my wife, so I was not party to what was actually said. Somewhere in the conversation Patty brought up the topic of the bid for our counter tops. My wife nicely side stepped and declined. Within a day or two of that phone call we received a large envelope containing information regarding our carpet's warranty, our LVP's warranty, and our installers warranty. Not to mention a letter from the store manager thanking us for our business. We are grateful they made the effort, however it should not have taken such a negative review to initiate action on their part. We would also like to clarify something. John the installer and the other gentleman that worked with him were absolutely TOP notch! There were some difficulties when it came to the tear out and those guys did everything they could and then some to make everything come out right. Careful when working with this company. They came out to measure my space for a quote and their worker stole from my home. When I contacted the office to let them know they said a manager would contact me immediately. After 2 follow up calls, no manager would talk to me. Where should we begin? Ok, I wish I could rate no stars for Great Floors in Meridian because there is nothing great about this store, it's manager Morris Weathered-ford or a sales person named John Shewdie-make! Seeing a recently posted 5*review makes me think it is from a relative in California! Wife and I purchased two rooms of top of the line flooring. They sent out their measurer named Bill, probably a independent sub and definitely incompetent. We had our flooring contractor pick up the material but we were charged for a shipping and handling fee! HELLO!! Plus the underlayment was the wrong type of material for our indoor flooring. Numerous calls to Johnny-boy ended up him telling us the S & H charge is standard to get the goods into their store? I told him when I go to the supermarket and buy a dozen eggs, they don't tack on shipping and handling or a delivery fee when I pick them up... Moreover, that is not a standard practice in the flooring industry. (Did you know that Randy?) Johnny-boy finally got rude and said "Well you can speak to my Supervisor" and hung up! Called back to find out who was in charge. Four more attempts later with no call back from Morris-less. Go back to the store three times to be told he's not in today, you just missed him, he's at lunch; at 3:45 PM... Sure. To get restitution after 45 days contacted the V.P. of customer service. She totally agreed with us and was shocked at our treatment and the slight of underhand cost imposed. She expedited a check to us. Later that week, Morris called us and apologized with many excuses that were as if a principle told him he has detention for the next six months. Ended our conversation by telling him to go buy himself a pizza! (Not really....) I see others have had similar experiences with these guys and others there of poor work place moral and service. read more

We live out of state and had a terrible tenant who destroyed our floors in our rental home in Meridian. Tyler was so helpful over the phone. He worked with me on pricing and helped me get what I needed as quickly as possible and also updated me and stayed in contact through the whole process. My wife and I wanted to re-carpet much of our house and gave Great Floors a try. We were helped by an associate, John Shoemake. Everything about the showroom visit and purchase on 12/27/20 was fine. I chose a date for installation, 1/7/21. John told us that we would be called the evening before installation with the time the furniture movers and installers would arrive. We did get that call, and were given a 7 am move time and 10 am install time. With this confirmation, we did as instructed and moved all of the small stuff to one room, disconnected electronics, etc. It was kind of like camping in our own house. Everything seemed to be on track, but quickly and repeatedly went off the rails. Nobody showed up. We waited until the store opened at 9 am to call John Shoemake. He said he called earlier to tell my wife that they had not received the carpet... except a check of our call history showed he never called. Since we wouldn't get carpet that day, John agreed to call the crews to have it installed on Saturday, 1/9/21. He said he would call to confirm either way. No call. No movers or installers showed up. We called John again and told him that the next day he could reschedule for was any day BUT Monday 1/11/21 since we had other commitments that day. Imagine our surprise when installers showed up on Monday morning. After camping in our house for 5 days, we canceled our other plans, just to get this behind us. The installation (done by Brett and Blake) went well. They did their own furniture moving since nobody sent a moving crew. Brett and Blake told us that John hadn't even called them until Saturday evening. After the installation, we called John's supervisor, Morris Weatherford to let him know about everything that happened. He was very apologetic and promised to get to the bottom of the multiple schedule failures, failure to keep us informed, and condescending attitude my wife got from John. He called back later that day and told us John was out of the office, so he couldn't get more information. Morris offered to send us to dinner at Goodwood for our trouble, which we accepted. One month later, we still haven't received the Goodwood gift cards. (Update- Morris called the day after this review and committed to sending the card.) This will be the last time we go to Great Floors. Horrible internal and customer communication. Confirmations that don't mean anything. Broken promises. Steer clear! read more

NOT so Great Floors was hired when we closed on our home in meridian. During the inspection the inspector found some raised areas in our master bathroom, walk-in closet, laundry room and upstairs bathroom. Great Floors showed up a few days after we moved in 5:30 pm to fix and replace flooring. 9:00 pm didn't finish and said they would be back the next day. Next day, no show. After three days we called and they said they will be out the next day, again no show. After calling several days and promised to show...still no show. Week 3 they finally sent an inspector out who showed up a day late and at 7 pm and who had a stone face, I don't give a crap attitude, said hardly two words, took pictures of the very bad areas and now squeaking floor...Here it is, 5 days later and still no word from GF or inspector. I'll be calling them once again to get someone out here to fix this mess or hire someone else to fix their crap and bill it to NOT so Great Floors. Our sales person David Bobbitt was a great deal of help in purchasing our carpet, and worked with us on when we could get it installed, I guess that is why we have been a repeat customer so many times. Our installers were here on time and very efficient, and worked quickly, looked like a professional group of men. We have had friends that have gone to other places and had to wait three months to get their carpets installed and that wouldn't of worked for us because we already had the furniture moved for the painter to do his work. I wanted to have new carpet and tile installed throughtout my home. By chance, I stopped at Great Floors. The sales staff was friendly and helpful. After selecting my flooring, I worked with J who was very patient with me as I changed my mind about some of it at least three times. Once the material was ordered, J called with an installation date. However, due to an accident that I had, I had to trust that J and Santiago, the installer, would take care of everything. Two months after the flooring was installed, I was finally able to go home to see my new floors. It was wonderful to come home to see that from removing and replacing the furniture to replumbing the necessary fixtures and cleaning up had been accomplished by a great team. We recently decided to replace the carpet in our house and visited GreatFloors in Meridian. Patty Stanbrough was our salesperson - she is very personable, has been with GreatFloors a long time, and possesses great product knowledge. GreatFloors had a great selection, and I was able to get samples, which I ordered through Patty and arrived within 3 days. I requested samples 2 or 3 times and had at least 14 different colors and 3 different weaves/styles. I emailed Patty with questions several times and she replied quickly with answers - she was also super patient. I decided on a Karastan carpet and pad. Patty took care of scheduling a move of our furniture and the carpet install. (Packing up your house for carpet is indeed like moving house again (which Patty 'warned' me)). I received the installation date I requested, the pricing and quality were excellent, the movers Patty arranged were terrific (Big Boy Moving) - they were conscientious, polite and careful. The four man install team was also amazing -- they were polite, very detailed and worked fast and seamlessly together. The same movers came back in the afternoon and once again carefully put everything back in place. The movers and the installers all arrived within the time window I was given. Will not go back for future purchases. Salesperson tried to sell us things he liked, but we didn't. We had to keep correcting the salesperson on the numbers for our tile, he kept telling us incorrect numbers. Ordered tile and knew it would take some time, but now it's MANY weeks later and no tile, no phone call to say where our tile is and when we try to talk to the salesperson, he is either off for the day or working on his own house! We are absolutely thrilled with our experience with Great Floors, specifically, JD Jones, and Tim (installer) and crew. J helped us through the purchase and measure process and helped us identify exactly the right product for our whole-house flooring replacement project. Then, once all the materials arrived, J contacted Tim, who arranged with his fabulous crew to shift furniture from one area to another in the house so we would be only minimally impacted. We were particularly concerned about the baseboard removal and replacement as we had it all painted when we moved in last July and dreaded it being ruined or needing all new paint. To our absolute amazement and delight, the white baseboards were removed, put back in place, touched up and caulked so expertly that we can't tell they were ever touched at all. The installers are not only expert craftsmen, they are also artists in their work. And, they are neat, clean, pleasant, courteous, and very respectful of our COVID concerns, wearing masks while in the home. We could not have chosen or asked for a more wonderful experience as a welcome to our new home. If we could give 10 stars to Great Floors, J, and Tim and his crew, we wouldn't hesitate to do so. Great Floors in Meridian treated us pretty poorly. Their bid was reasonable, but I guess we did not understand the industry terms or something. They replaced some linoleum with new snap together wood flooring. The floor looks great, except they added underlayment under it so we step UP from carpet to the new flooring. We tried multiple times to get them to fix it, even offering to pay for part of the expense. The salesman kept changing his story, blaming decisions on the "Big Boss". We talked to the store manager and he agreed that they would fix it. But the story kept changing. Finally we receiv3d a bid for $800 to "fix it". Finally we told the salesman to just send us an invoice for the balance due on original installation and we would pay that - and never work with them again. Bjohnson read more

Communications with the sales person was poor. Multiple phone calls were required before a call was returned. When I couldn't get through by phone, I would drive over to the business. The order was finally placed and payment in full was required. Installation was scheduled for a Tuesday. The Thursday prior to that date, I received a phone call letting me know the installers were at my house wanting to start. I went back to the house and talked to the installer. He told me he didn't know why the installation was scheduled for the following week because he was talking that week off. At 7:00 PM the installer called to let me know the job was done. I went over to the house to find the upstairs closet doors had been taken off when there was no work to be done on the second floor. There was a lot of carper left over. I measured the rolls and it was over 14 yards of carpet. I called Shelly the sales person and got no response. I called the store manager and was told that their best person did the measurements and he was surprised at the amount left over. He said he would get back to me and never did. The extra material and labor added about $1,300 to the bill. read more

I bought a wood laminate floor from them for my downstairs. After 14 months, I could not believe how scratched up it was. Nicole from Great Floors came out to see for herself. She was shocked. She said I didn't even have to show her where the floor was so scratched as it was all over. She immediately said she would take care of it. She supported her customer from the get go. Well she asked the manufacturer for a new floor. Before they would do that, they sent out an independent 3rd party expert to examine the whole mess. Well his report came back it wasn't the floor rather the BONA polish I was using. The polish was all scratched up and not the floor. Well BONA took no responsibility. When I think polish, I think something light. No wax but just a little sheen. Turns out their polish is acrylic. Then they tell me I can't walk on it for 24 hours after polishing. What am I supposed to do? Pack my family up with pets and stay in a hotel just so I can use their polish? THEN they don't even sell the remover in any store. You have to special order it. Well after 5 days on my hands and knees with their floor stripper, and just about killing myself doing it, the ACRYLIC--like your nails ladies, is gone. But what I really want to say, is Nicole was talking me through it the whole way. She makes "Great Floors" look good with outstanding customer service. She referred me to a great guy that helped me get the last 20% of ACRYLIC off the floor. She helped me in any way she could. If I ever buy anything to do with flooring again, I'm going to Great Floors 100% because of Nicole. I KNOW I'm going to get outstanding customer service from her and I trust her completely. She is the "GREAT" in Great Floors! I hope they appreciate her. I have never had such supportive customer service. read more

We had the flooring in our living room, hall, and main bathroom replaced. Our salesperson, Kenna, was very friendly and informative. She communicated with us every step of the way and was understanding when we elected to wait until after the holidays to go ahead with our project. Bill came out to measure and was thorough and knowledgeable. As a former installer, he had an eye for details and took extra time to carefully measure the differences in existing flooring to be sure the new underlayment would be correct. Our installer, Santiago, was friendly and professional. Our job was not large, but we were never made to feel that it was insignificant. This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. First of all, half of the items in their store are "special order" which means it is non-refundable. They never once said "special order" means non-refundable. Apparently EVEN IF THEY MESS UP it is still non-refundable. This sounds more like a scam than a business that cares about customers. My wife and talked to the sales rep and stated we were specifically looking for LVT tile. The sample they had on the sales floor was not currently in stock because it was a new item. They ended up ordering long planks that look NOTHING like tile. They look like plastic strips of laminate. When you go to a store like this you pay more than a typical box store. You should be paying for the service and expertise which they offer none of. We knew that the wrong size was ordered when we picked it up, but we were told we had to talk to the sales rep. who was not there. We tried to return it the next day and no one could help us. We called a "manager" and he said it would get taken care of and he would call us the next business day, but he never called back. We finally called back 7-days later and the original sales rep. was even less help. All they could say was it was non-refundable and wouldn't take any accountability. NOTHING on our sales receipt said anything about it being a special order or that is was non-refundable. If we had known it was non-refundable, we would not have let them order it. Even then why would they think we wanted long planks when we came in looking for tile for a small bathroom? I am so glad we started off with small order first. We are in the planning stages of remodeling our entire house. If we had trusted them and ordered more we could have been out $1000s instead of a few $100. Nevertheless, I will never set foot in this store as a customer again, I will tell everyone about our experience every chance I get. read more

Scheduling - When we were there, customer service set up a date and time to come out and measure our floors. A couple of days before that date, customer service called and said they had a cancellation and would we like to move our appointment up to a new date. I told her no, we had scheduled in other things. She called again and wanted to move our appointment up to a different time on our scheduled date. Once again, I told her no, we have scheduled in other things. To our surprise, the man just shows up at our door unexpectedly.
