Fast forward about an hour and a half, we come back, no text, there's so many open tables but noones taking anyone in, a whole line of people were waiting and with so many open tables its ridiculous noone's doing anything but sweeping floors. Workers are just walking in and out tending to the very few tables that already have people or the floor. Even when we got in, service was inconsistent and lacking. Crazy that we had to wait an hour and a half with the place having so many open tables and then when we finally got in, people that came in way after us got immediately seated and got their orders before us. Both times the driver waited at the restaurant 30-60min because food was not ready. Not the delivery fault. I really enjoy the food here but the service gets worse and worse each time I go. The last time I went, no one came to take our order for over 25 minutes, but the tables around us all were waited on. We reminded someone to take our order and he rolled his eyes and came back to take our order rudely. I love boiling point. Their lamb hot pot is amazing and I love how they could do you refillable soup. Their spicy chili is also really good add-on on the side and at a reasonable price. They did get rid of the green sauce that was really good, but there are a lot of changes. Service is not as nearly as it was before I noticed how everyone was kind of reaching to get their own stuff because not paying attention to customers . The only one who gave above and beyond service was Mimi, and she was a trainee how hard she worked out she made sure to replace the fire. Another coworker said that they would be back but never did so there's that lol. Ambience is not as great I thought with renovation they would get better seats, but it's all right because the food is worth it. i finally decided to give this place a try after seeing all the horrible reviews. i came in on a wed evening and waited around 10 mins before being seated. the server quickly came to get our orders and delivered our waters. there's a robot cat that delivers your food and the servers only come to drop it off from the robot cat. from being seated to receiving our pot, it took around 10 minutes total. the service is extremely fast and they were very friendly. i would come back again since i had a great experience. however, i do still think tastypot is better. read more

I absolutely love boiling point! this was my first time at the Irvine location since I was in the area and i think the restaurant/plaza is going thorough renovations at the because they had a banner as their sign. we came at ~3pm on a Sunday for a party of 5 (including a toddler) & waited ~15 mins. when I arrived, I added myself to the waitlist and there was only 1 party of 5-8 ahead of us which was great (usually the wait is much longer). I liked that this restaurant felt more spacious than some of the other ones where the tables are in the middle and it feels cramped sitting there. the worker was very nice and attentive. he came back for our orders pretty quickly given that the restaurant was filled. I noticed they took away the plum cumin dry seasoning they used to have and replaced it with a green chili sauce. I didn't try it but my cousin said it wasn't good... this is a disappointing change I wish they didn't make! onto the food... I order the lamb mild (my usual go-to) with additional beef on top. I didn't know they would put so much meat into the top and was overwhelmed by the amount! this is not a complaint though - the more the merrier! the soup base and everything inside was delicious as usual; my fam & I were extremely satisfied. the only thing I didn't like was how fatty the lamb was. there was a lot more stringy fat on the sides than usual (each meat piece was half fat). aside from this, I generally enjoyed my meal and I'm even happier I didn't have to wait that long for it! read more

This place has been our go-to for a few years now, but the service has gone pretty downhill while the prices have gone up quite a bit. There was nobody waiting at the front with about 5-6 workers behind the counter ignoring us with half the tables at the restaurant open. The servers looked like they hated their jobs and we had to flag down anybody to get refills, the bill, etc. Thankfully, the quality of the food has consistently been good, but just be aware that they have diff prices for the same portion for lunch and dinner. All the ingredients soaked in the soup paired together well and were very delicious. The portion sizes are generous as well. Highly recommend the curry and beef soups! Our server did not inform us of the QR code menu hanging on the side of the table, so we were waiting for a long time before we asked. Server did not ask us if we had been there before, since this is a unique style of dining you would think they would ask to see if you needed assistance or any explanations, my mom had no idea what to do with the bag of noodles that was dropped off. Even getting our order taken took forever. Water never refilled without asking. A robot brings your food out, server drops it off and peaces out. This is some of the worst service I've had in awhile. FOOD (2/5) The soups have good flavor, but the meat and ingredients are definitely not of high quality. Style points for the serving pot, but aside from that, not a good value for the cost. Negative experiences: First time we tried to come and call, we were told there was a 15 minute wait so we headed over. When we get there, they say 45 minutes. What do you mean we can't put a highchair at the table that you placed us and that you should have clearly known we needed?? The solution? Move the table off the wall and put the highchair in-between the wall and table. My friends walk-in with a baby stroller, since they have a newborn, and attempt to move the loose chair to put the stroller in. I joke they're not allowed to do that. The waiter states they're not allowed to do that. The solution? They have to carry the newborn and eat with it in their lap. Server takes 10 minutes to come get our order after seating us. The deadly robot that needs the entire walking space of the restaurant arrives 15 minutes after receiving our order. The couple next to us waits 10 minutes for their check to leave. I, wanting to avoid the same waiting time to leave the restaurant, go to pay at the front desk. And the absolute killer of a kicker?! A god damn lap dog is allowed into the restaurant, is seated at a chair, and the owner of the dog hand feeds it. How is it that a highchair and baby stroller placed at a table that YOU seated us at requires waiter intervention but an actual freaking dog is allowed in? Food: stick with the beef. Once we got there, we had to waitlist on the iPad and the wait was maybe around 25ish+ minutes for dinner time for 4 people. I know some people waited longer depending on the size of your party. Once we got seated, you scan the menu on the table. The hotpots are individual hotpots, so each person gets their own instead of sharing. I got the Beef Hotpot (Napa, Vermicelli, Sliced Beef, Corn, Seafood Mushroom, Tomato, Firm Tofu, Tempura, Pork Meat Ball, Fish Cake, Fried Tofu Skin, and Imitation Crab Stick) with mild spicy. I really like coming here for their delicious Taiwanese hot pot cuisine. Their broth tastes so delicious very similar to how my mom and grandma makes it. That means they take a lot of time to brew their soup so the taste comes out from the bone. I always get their sliced beef and pork belly added on to my hot pot. Their #1 house special hot soup comes with napa, fermented tofu, mushroom, fish cake, clam, cilantro and endless refills of broth. You can choose a side of white rice (free refill) or vermicelli noodles. They have ongoing sales: Lunch from 11am-3pm you can get complimentary tea $1 upgrade to large size. Always a good time here with friends and family. Their staff is pretty good constantly asking if you enjoyed your meal or need anything else. Lunch comes with a free iced tea, and it used to be green or black tea, but they changed it to green tea or winter melon tea, which I actually really enjoyed. As mentioned in my previous review, they increased prices but doubled the meat and added refillable rice. They definitely did not skimp on the meat. Ordered 2 Fresh Honey Green Milk Tea with Boba and it took more than ten minutes to get the drinks at 2:53 pm I used to manage a boba shop before and no way it should take this long. The guy literally took his sweet time making it and it slightly tasted watered down when I got it. The young front cashier lady was nice though. My stars just keep dropping over the years for Boiling Point... so sad. I recently visited Boiling Point for lunch on 4/3/2024 with a friend. Prices have gone up again and it's about $20 for the regular pots and $23 for the larger flavored ones. The cheapest one is the veggie one and it is still $18 for lunch. Dinner is about $1 more for every pot without a drink. The food is still good. I think that the broth and ingredients are still the same as it was a year ago. My friend ordered #1 House Special and it seems to have a lot of meat, which is nice! Service was lacking. Very lacking. The most attentive person was the trainee. They already have a robot that helps them bring out the pots to the tables. But it seems like the workers are purposely ignoring you. They don't look at the tables/people, they just b-line their way back to the kitchen/behind the counter after placing the hot pots on the tables from the robot. If the robot could physically unload the pots to your tables, I don't think you'll ever see a physical worker walk by. When they b-line past us, I felt like I really had to shout to get their attention. Once you get their attention, they don't really give you a solid acknowledgement that they heard and will do what you ask. It's a bit frustrating.... i've been going here for years, it's a unique type of hot pot where everything comes in your personalized pot. i miss when they expanded so the wait was much shorter. i usually order the beef hotpot which has a variety of things in it, like corn, fish cake, napa cabbage, tomato, mushroom, cilantro, etc. for the price, i wish they gave more food. it's usually pretty consistent but not sure why recently it's been tasting saltier. my fav part is the lemon aiyu jelly they give at the end! it's the perfect dessert after a nice hot pot meal read more
