It never disappoints no matter where the restaurant is located at. I've been a LONG TIME loyal customer of boiling point. I visited Pasadena location for years, then I used to go to Artesia, and now I'm going to Irvine. The flavor remains the same. Great customer service. The only observation I have is how complicated is to place an order for pick up over the phone. The reason why is because THEY NEVER ANSWER the phone and unfortunately they don't longer take online orders. What a boomer so I'm forced to drive all the way to the restaurant from Mission Viejo to place the order in person and wait there 25 minutes for my food. Can you guys make it a little bit easier for me PLEASE?? LOL Besides that, everything is great. Plenty of parking lot. Host said wait was 1hr for two people but ended up waiting 2hrs. Once inside it took another 30min for someone to even take our order in the first place. Boiling Point never disappoints, and even the take out was well packaged and tasted great.  It's the perfect comfort food on a cold day.  We ordered via DoorDash for self pick up. The pick up process was not very clear, but there were tables marked with corresponding food ordering platform for people to pick up the orders. Anyone could just go in, pick up, and walk away without the staff checking the order, which was a little disconcerting. Despite that, our favorites were Beef Hot Soup and House Special Hot Soup. Broth was on point and satisfying, and there were plenty of ingredients in each pot. We could never finish the broth in one sitting and have leftovers to make another round of hot pot by adding more veggies/fishballs etc for the next meal. read more

My favorite Taiwanese hot pot place at the moment! The only negative is the long wait time. Customer service is good with refilling the broth and turning the fire off if it's too hot but keep in mind this is a super busy location. I think we waited an hour or so. Their hot pot comes boiling and ready-to-eat with all the ingredients listed in the menu. My favorite is the Beef Hot Pot. Come on, what would you order besides beef at a hot pot place?! Lol. I ordered mild spice but next time I'll order None since I like the original taste of the beef soup. That's why I'm actually a fan of Shabu Shabu more with their simple kombu broth. BP IS THE BEST. I live closer to the other locations but I always make the drive to the Irvine location. The service here is impeccable, the food never misses, and the Hokkaido milk tea is gassss. The food is so comforting and is perfect after a night out. This place is definitely one of OC's gems and you have to try it if you're in the area! i've been to this location quite a few times. the quality and customer service have noticeably gone down significantly since 2020. it's a huge difference in my opinion. wait times are longer than ever, food leaves my stomache feeling achy, and waiters are not as attentive and polite. the food is comforting and i LOVE the idea of individual hot pot (no germ sharing). there is so much potential to rehab this place. i also think the "freshness" of the food is now questionable though this might be ignorant of me to say because i doubt it was ever truly "fresh" to begin with as i'm sure it's just frozen packets. prices have also gone up and i def don't think the quality and service reflect that. i will probably continue to go but for how long who knows! read more

Boiling Point got hubby and I through the pandemic. We DoorDash their spicy beef hot soup twice a week at one point because we were so addicted. I used to frequent the Irvine location prior to the pandemic. Hubby never tried it before until I introduced it to him June 2020. We were iffy about ordering DoorDash at first because it wouldn't be the same experience as dining in. You don't get the personal hotpot or the chance to mix your own dipping sauces. Nonetheless, hubby and I gave it a shot and had no regrets. Our food was sealed and packaged nicely. The soup came in a huge bowl, enough to split into two full meals. The rice came in a separate container. Utensils were packed neatly as well. We recommend reheating all of your food so that it's piping hot when you eat it. Our spicy beef soup came with lots of beef, enoki mushrooms, fried tofu skin, napa cabbage, and just jam packed with flavor. We ordered extra sauces on the side, We like to mix all 3 of their bbq, chili oil, and spicy bean paste sauces together. It's an absolute game-changing dip. Your meal will NOT be complete without all 3 sauces together! Also, you get free tea if you order lunch! Another note, just beware of the spices. Sometimes it can get too much and hurt your stomach a little. I recommend adjusting spice level as a precaution if you're not used to spicy foods. read more

My vegetables came out already charred so it was also in the back house for a while. Lastly there's so little meat that is not very filling. I got the #5 Lamb Hot Soup(15.99) and it came with the lunch tea which is complementary and I chose green tea. I opted to "exchange meat" and got the sliced Beef, which is an extra $1.25, and was not worth it. It was super skimpy. This soup option also was overwhelmingly mushroom. The last time I came to this Boiling Point was like 7 years ago or something, and for some reason it just wasn't love. My boyfriend loves Boiling Point for some reason though, so this year I thought I'd give it another chance. It's really not that bad. I've tried the popular beef flavor before and I just couldn't get into it. But lately I've been really into the Korean Bean Paste! The Korean Bean Paste (#3) comes with instant ramen (I love), tofu, fish cake, mushrooms, zucchini, kimchi, and is loaded with some type of leafy greens at the top. I think I could do without the huge pile of greens, but other than that, the broth it's cooked in is really good not that spicy even though I ordered the hot spice level. Will go up another level next time. We came in for lunch today and it came with a free green or black iced tea. I also heard from a random person that the milk teas were fire, so I tried the Old-Time Delight Milk Tea. It's very, very sweet. I wish I could've asked for a lower percentage of sugar, but other than that the milk tea itself is very strong. I'm so caffeinated right now, and that's totally fine. So you win, Boiling Point. I have been to this location for almost 10 years, and it seems the quality of the staff and food has drastically declined. I just finished the worst visit ever. After an hour of waiting in line, I had to wait another 40 minutes for the food to be brought out, the rice took 20 minutes to be served and the drinks 30 minutes to come out. Boiling point is usually my go-to comfort food , but I feel extremely let down after this visit. I ordered the seafood plate that was highly recommended by the staff, and I would not recommend it to anyone. It's absent in flavor, to the point it wasn't edible. When I asked the servers if they could fix it and add something to boost the flavor they just added more broth which did nothing. They asked again if it was better and I had told them nothing had changed even after i added sauce and chilli like they had suggested and that it was still not edible since it tasted like i was having water as a broth. Thereafter, the staff completely disregarded me, they took the food to the back so I didn't even eat it. They never offered to take it home or replace it. There was no initiative whatsoever to a solution, and when I asked for the item which I didn't even eat to be removed from the check they refused. I requested to pay the check in full and get store credit for the next store visit and they refused too. Had such a bad experience today, my boyfriend and I have been coming here for years and have always loved it here but we noticed that the service has been getting worse and worse. First I asked for extra napkins (never got them), missing vermicelli and some sides (had to ask 3 times), got my drink order wrong (had to ask for it to be changed), the server said "Is that all?" In a passive aggressive tone. The whole time we never got asked if we needed extra soup or anything. We had to ask for water when normal they just come when we sit down. My soup was literally down to the bottom I didn't want my food to burn so I had to ask for extra soup. I felt like I was causing an inconvenience to the server but I remind myself that I'm not asking for too much, it's them keep making mistakes. The service was so bad we lost our appetite and had to get to go after just 20 mins of being there. I asked for togo boxes and they only brought one when obviously my boyfriend has food too. Then I had to be "extra" and ask for another container. Then you would think they would bring the check with the togo boxes but no we waited for a while and had to ask, again. Cherry on top! I witnessed an older couple asking the manager if they could move to a bigger table, but the manager refused, saying he needed it for it for a larger party which is reasonable given how busy the restaurant was, but honestly the manager was not professional in the slightest, he was very rude and the older couple ended up leaving. Literal moments later, the same manager seated two barely clothed young ladies at that very table he had refused to the older couple. COVID review: very limited seating but there is plexiglass at each table and everything seemed really clean and spaced out! The sauces are also poured out for each table and disposed right after they leave. Please be aware that this place gets super busy at night. Hi I recently just ate here with my wife and kids, I ordered the Taiwanese spicy and my wife and kids got beef mild. The service from a supervisor called Mark was TERRIBLE. 1. He was INCOMPETENT, LAZY, CREPPY, STUPID, and RUDE. He does not know what is going on in the restaurant at all. It looks like it's his first day in the job. 2. I had a mix up with my drinks. He didn't know what to do he had some sort of seizure/panic. He instead went to the servers(keep in mind he is a supervisor) and ask for help, and kept being rude and saying he dosent know what to do and kept asking for help. 3. He kept at staring at my wife in such a CREEPY way, my kids were uncomfortable, my wife was uncomfortable, and I was furious. Whenever we needed something he would come with attitude. When he gave us our refill on water he slammed the cups on table, water splashing all over. 4. He has no customer service he is rude, his breath stinks, and he has a major attitude To management, please fire him. He is a CREEP, RUDE, and he does not know what he is doing and it is so obvious. All the tables next to us also agreed with us that he was SUPER INCOMPETENT. I understand he may be of special needs but this is nowhere near acceptable customer service. My favorite individual hotpot place!! Their soups are so comforting and I try to come here whenever I'm in la or NorCal. The Irvine location is one of my favorites because it's right off the freeway and it's probably the biggest location. The downside is that it's always busy. I've come around 11:30am multiple times and have still had to wait like 30 minutes fora table. My go-to is the beef and lamb! I also love the Taiwanese but it's way too big for me and I can never finish it. The soup however is delicious!! I usually get my soup with vermicelli (you can also choose rice) and during lunch hours they also give you a free green tea or black tea! I have a high tolerance for spiciness and I rarely find the hot or flaming too much for me. If anything sometimes I don't think they make it spicy enough!! I love all the ingredients they put in the pots and I am usually stuffed afterwards. Don't forget to use the sauces on the table to dip all your stuff in it as it will make your meal even better.
