We went for a late lunch on a Saturday, it was fairly empty and we got seats right away. We both got the cheapest set for $35/person, I believe everyone might have to choose the same menu to avoid cross sharing. You get to choose a broth and order from the tablet as much as you want within 100 minutes, but there is a wait time between ordering on the tablet so I recommend just putting in everything you want at once, but also not over ordering because it's extra if you don't finish. The meats were nice, they were not as fatty and didn't have as much marbling so it could be a little chewy after cooking but for the price we really couldn't complain and it was still delicious. And I'm sure the higher priced menu sets have higher quality cuts. We loved all the veggies and noodles you can order and there was a sweet rice cake dessert that was absolutely delicious. In particular I really liked the grilled beef tongue and Wagyu platter. Of the two broths I tried (Beef Bone and the mild House spicy), I preferred the Beef Bone, which was rich and flavorful. The House spicy had a decent Szechwan kick to it even at mild. The staff here were very nice and parking is plentiful at the District. Everything I order was really good. I'll try to list everything I remember. I started with a bone broth and added dry chilis to make it spicy. I got some appetizers and there is a shrimp dish, tuna tartare, shrimp, tempura, and a bone marrow pot I think but they're all delicious. For the hot pot I got the fatty beef and brisket plus a bunch of different vegetables and abalone lol. Everything was really fresh and delicious and I'll definitely come back here with friends next time. I also got two drinks for myself, a plum juice and a watermelon juice to cool down all the heat. Been eyeing this place for a while now and it worked out because it was right next to the Vuori warehouse sale. This place is beautiful inside it has gorgeous green jade colored plating. Very sophisticated and elevated. Reminds me of X Pot meets Niku X. AYCE premium hot pot for $55 ($50 for membership price//membership is $18 per year I think). We ordered the second tier which included the Wagyu truffle fried rice. Wow that was so good it filled me up! Highly recommend the truffle fried rice and the Wagyu meat was so soft and tender. The rice was so perfectly moist! I tried all the appetizers and my favorite probably was the crispy baby octopus and the juicy octopus bite. They gave a huge sauce bar that tasted really fresh with tons of appetizers and cantaloupe and cuties. We got the short plate which was a more fatty beef, the a5 Wagyu brisket that they limit to 1 per person and pork belly. The pork belly was the most meat but the a5 brisket was the most beautiful marble. I was so full ordering only 4 plates of meat. The soup is so good. I loved the chicken pepper because it had ginger in it. If you want a thicker version then the pork stomach is also a great option. Michael got a hot green tea which is so nice they serve it to you in a pot so it tasted so fresh and I got the orange green tea which wasn't too sweet and tasted very Orange! It was my first time at Prime Hot Pot and it did not disappoint, the premium hot pot restaurant that serves unlimited wagyu beef and lots of seafood options. I had to order all the wagyu I wanted to eat cause I love wagyu! There's multiple tiers at Prime and they all offer unlimited options and a self-serve sauce bar. I had the B Menu which came with a few appetizers, I liked the one bite shrimp and salmon & tuna tartare! This place opened up close to my house so I decided to check it out on a rainy day. Immediately upon walking in, I was greeted by a host and amazing decor. There was no wait which was nice and got seated at a booth. We ordered from Menu A and only got brisket and chuck roll. The brisket was VERY flavorful. I got mild house spicy broth and it was the perfect amount of spicy to still be enjoyable. However it was definitely spicy so be cautious of that. Overall, the place is reasonably priced and it's amazing that they have tuna tartare and baby octopus appetizers included in menu A for only $35!! Great hotpot place to try if you are ever in Tustin. It was our first time trying this place out since moving to Irvine and decided to give this place a try. Upon arrival we were greeted with friendly staff that sat us right away. When you get to your table it feels so spacious that it was easy to get comfortable while you eat your meal. The waitress that we had that night was great she went through the menu pretty efficient and answered all our questions . Made it easy to choose the what we wanted . There is a sauce bar where you can go and create your dipping sauces for your meats. I love how there's so many art that it was just a aww moment when you saw it. Lots of water next to you (in the push cart) and lots of napkins also (in the push cart at the bottom right drawer). $35 for cheapest lunch menu per person. It's all you can eat. It's so good. There are only 5 diff meats but the meats were good. The noodles were good. The rice was good. Omg I also ordered salmon sushi just to try out. So funny but their salmon sushi was fresher and more delicious than an actual sushi place! Couldn't believe how good it was. I got fish filet also. My kids love fish filet so it's always a must order for me. I got the bone broth. And also got the chicken with pork bone broth. Both of these are not spicy and awesome tasting. For meats - they'll give you a sampler plate if you ask. Which is when they'll give you 5 diff meats on one plate just to try a bit of everything. I did this to try all the meats. Towards the end, I recommend only getting the chuck roll and the beef plate. Both of these are amazing. Skip the brisket because you can get that meat anywhere. But the chuck roll hands down had the most marbling so it was nice and fatty haha. You walk up to grab / make your own sauces. They don't charge extra for making your own sauces like other hot pot places. Forgot to mention. At the very end, they give your kids free ice cream. At least they gave my kids some free ice cream lol. Vanilla or strawberry flavored. 100% milk and has a spoon inside. Loved it! I'll be back! To be honest, I prefer this place over Haidi Lao. We had to try this place since this was a fairly new place at the Tustin District. Overall, the experience was okay. The whole experience was slightly confusing though. However, the waiter helped to answer all our questions. We opted for the B menu, which does include A5 wagyu. The quality was definitely there and all the meats tasted great, but to be totally honest, you really can't tell the difference with the american wagyu and the japanese A5 one. The service was pretty good as our waiter came around quite often, but the food was just super backed up. We waited so long for the meats to come out that we really got full as we waited and let the food sit in our stomachs. The ambience was nice and beautiful, nothing to complain about. I wish more hot pot places would adopt this kind of ambience. We'll probably be back, but will 100% stick with the cheapest option at $35 per person. read more

Our new goto for AYCE hot pot at Tustin District. It's definitely an experience and not cheap, but their items are high quality and they have a decent selection for what you choose. We have been here three times since Prime Hot Pot has opened. All of our visits times have been exceptional. The staff is extra friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean with plenty of seating. We recently joined their membership for $18 a year which gives us some member perks and discounts as well as a free birthday meal. We really enjoy their soups, brisket, fish filet, and fresh veggies. They have a great sauce bar too. Their ponzu is delicious and very addictive! Only complaint we have is that the food can take some time to arrive. We have to wait awhile for our rice and soup at one point..so be sure to order a lot of items ahead or eat some of the hot foods they have available at the sauce bar. Also, the cut of the meat is sometimes inconsistent. There are times when they melt in your mouth and other times where they're a bit chewy but still good. We went for dinner Friday night and loved the experience. There is plenty of parking right next to the restaurant. The bright sign makes it easy to find. Inside the restaurant is one of the most beautiful hot pot restaurants you will ever see. Service here is friendly and efficient. They had great recommendations for us. We went with the B menu offering. We got the beef bone broth, which was so flavorful. They have a tablet to order from, which made it super efficient to deliver food and drinks. They have an extensive sauce bar with some helpful recipes if you don't know what to make. And by the time we got back to our table with our sauces, the appetizers and meats began to arrive. We got the salmon and caviar sushi which was very fresh and delicious. We also got the one bite shrimp and the hot stone wagyu rice. We ordered seconds on all of these. We also ordered the seafood platter and the vegetable platter for our hot pot. The shrimp, mussels, oysters, cuttlefish and fish were all fresh and delicious. The mushrooms, cabbage and pumpkin were all favorites. The marbling on the best was fantastic. Every piece melted in our mouths. We had ube ice cream and black sesame ice cream. Both were very good. The brown sugar mochi was our favorite of all the desserts and ordered a second helping. All in all it was a wonderful experience. We loved the ambiance, the service and of course all of the food. I know, it was a TON of food. My favorite appetizer Grilled Beef Tongue. When I say it melted in my mouth, it LITERALLY melted in my mouth. As well as the meat being cooked to perfection, the seasoning was perfect as well. Another side dish that I really recommend is the Wagyu Stone Pot Rice. I love that they mix together the rice right in front of you, which adds to the premium service of the restaurant. The Wagyu Platter offered high quality fresh meats, and my favorite was the A5 Wagyu Brisket. Every time I dipped the meat into the broth, the meat pieces would absorb all of the flavors from the broth and create an explosion of flavor in each bite. I tried both the House Spicy and Beef Bone broths and both were delicious in their own way. Their House Spicy is definitely on the spicy side, so be careful! I got the medium, and it was still a bit too spicy for me. That's when the Beef Bone broth saved my tastebuds with more of a savory flavor. Overall, all of the foods were definitely high quality and felt premium, which I believe is the vibe they are going for. Service: All of the staff members were quick and friendly. Ivan is one of those host that makes you want to come back to this restaurant. His hospitality, his energy, and his love for his customers are what makes him a genuinely good person that made my dining experience here fun and memorable. As for the food, we ordered the classic set and the food was top notch. I have been to many AYCE shabu places and this place by far has one of the best quality in meats. The sushi and seafood were fresh and the presentation was surprisingly "fancy" (which is a good thing) at an AYCE. As for the service, I was definitely impressed. I don't expect much from these types of restaurants, but all the servers were willing to either help with the menu and or place our order. First time ever trying hot pot and wow! Really good first experience! We came here on a Saturday afternoon and was created by Kelly our server! She was super nice and very helpful as she could tell that this was our first time trying hot pot. She was able to walk us through the menu and its many options and even helping us with the sauce station. We had the 35$ menu option and honestly it felt like the more expensive option since it had salmon tartare and mussels/shrimp on the menu to name a few. Good service keeping our waters full and making sure we have plenty of food. Also sat next to some cool looking butterfly art which was really cool. 4/5 stars since they were having work being done on the front door and it was alittle noisy during business hours. Menu: They recently changed the model from AYCE to a la carte. I have to agree with other reviews that it's not worth it anymore. The membership used to give you a free meal on your birthday and membership pricing for a guest. Now it's just a free soda, small bite of wagyu sandwich, and discount of beef set. We ended up getting the set menu which is $38 and a few more a la carte items to share between 2 people. The sauce bar and side dishes are still included for free. We also wanted to order live seafood like king crab but they said you have to call the restaurant ahead of time for that Food: Beef quality is great. Ribeye was my favorite. Shrimp paste was also fresh and bouncy. The appetizers and seafood that came with the set was pretty small (one shrimp, one fish, one tempura shrimp, etc) but it is technically for one person. Service: Servers were attentive but they weren't informed of the membership changes. We had to ask for the free drink that comes with membership because they only asked if we're ok with water. We opted for the beef bone/house spicy split pot and menu B, which I thought was very fairly priced at $55 per person (much less expensive than other competitors in the area), and includes salmon sushi topped with caviar, wagyu truffle stone pot rice, assorted seafood, A5 wagyu brisket, and American wagyu round flat, chuck short rib, brisket and short plate. There's a FREE (I'm side-eyeing you, Haidilao) sauce bar where you can build your own sauces and get some extra snacks/appetizers, although I wished there was rice available at the station as well. Overall, we enjoyed everything we ordered, although there were some items I probably wouldn't get again based on personal preference (e.g. one bite shrimp, crispy baby octopus, hotpot noodles, matcha cheesecake), but it's nice to know that there are so many appetizer and hotpot ingredient options to choose from. The interior is very modern and calm, lots of table with bars for sauces and sides It's about as good as it gets for ayce. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the meat you get is very high end. My family and I were there on Xmas Day and we enjoyed our meal and the service. Kenny was our server and this is the 3rd time he has helped us and he has always been professional, attentive and very friendly. This review is not about the food or the service because we have been there many times and we enjoy everything. This time I did bring my teenage son who happens to have a severe peanut allergy. I noticed that the self serve sauce bar area had two containers of peanuts served two different ways. My son is old enough to be aware that he is to not touch anything that has peanuts in it. Halfway through dinner, he started to not feel good and said that his lips were swelling up. All of us had our individual soup broth and no one in my party brought peanuts back to the table. So we know that it's not my family that is eating peanuts. We made it thru dinner but that night, my son was complaining about being itchy and his throat hurting. We assumed that there was something that probably touched peanuts at the restaurant. So we gave him a Benadryl and let him sleep it off. The following day, he had rashes all over his body and inside his mouth. We took him to urgent care, and they stated that he most likely came across some peanuts in which he has allergic to. I contacted the restaurant later that evening and asked to speak to a manager. Yono was in charge and I explained the situation and he apologized. I stated that it is a very bad idea to have peanuts laid out at the sauce bar where it is a common area and people will mistakenly use the shared serving spoons and it will cross contaminate. And that is most likely what happened in my case. I mentioned that having a peanut allergy is a very common and some have it very severe where it can lead to a death. I also mentioned that it needs to be labeled properly that there are peanuts or it needs to be contained and only brought out when and if guests asks for it. Yono stated that the peanuts are a very popular item and a lot of diners do eat it. That can be the case but it's a huge risk for diners like my son. He didn't seem to take my suggestion of removing it from the sauce bar area as something useful. It's been almost 5 days and the rash has not gotten better and we have him on meds. I contacted the restaurant again today to see if they've done anything about this situation because I would hate for a guest to go through what we went thru and have a very bad reaction that can be more serious than my sons. There was no response when I contacted Yono when I was told if I needed anything, I can reach out to him. I will be looking into this matter more seriously as it's life threatening for anyone with a peanut allergy. In the meantime, please be careful that if you have any severe allergies to peanuts or sesame, please steer clear as there is no proper signage and food is just being properly handled. This place is fairly new, but I love the atmosphere and food was outstanding! I was amazed by the sculptures as soon as I entered. The service is great and they really accommodate to you. I recommend the shared plate instead of the small. I preferred the tomato soup over the Wagyu Hot, but both were great. Be prepared for that Szechuan taste with the numbing sensation in the Wagyu Hot. The bear in the Wagyu Hot was adorable! However, the wagyu box for 2 was the star of the show. The demonstration they did was wonderful as well. It is on the higher price of the spectrum, but it is definitely worth it! read more

Update 4/8/25: Having dined here 7 or 8 times now, I'm really conflicted as to whether to recommend Prime Hot Pot any longer. In just the last 8 months, the menus have changed multiple times, they had another "re-grand opening", the membership benefits have changed and reduced significantly for existing members, and even the staff have to ask each other and the managers what the membership benefits and promotions are because they seem to change significantly month to month. I'm fine with the fact that they have switched from AYCE to non-AYCE, but the portion size of the new set menu did not seem adequate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]3 of us dined for dinner recently on a Friday evening and it was noticeable less busy than when we had eaten there just a few weeks ago when it was still AYCE.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The meat portion for all 3 of us was served on 1 tray. I had to confirm with the server if the plate was the meat portion for 1 person (which would have been generous) or if it was the portion for all 3 of us (which would have been inadequate). Unfortunately, it was the portion for all 3 of us. Also, the appetizers available at the self help sauce bar had less variety than previously. On top of that, near the end of our meal, we realized that they had not brought our seafood plates either and we had to bring that to their attention. I started off as a premium AYCE and then became a somehow even more expensive AYCE place and now I think they really found their calling. Instead of AYCE, they now have a prixfixe style tasting menu. It's much more affordable and the quality is still just as amazing as before. They also had a huge upgrade in staff. When I first came, service was very chaotic and a little bit lacking, but today when I came ..I felt like VIP. This is now my new favorite hot pot place. My husband and I love eating hotpot & we've been to many ayce hotpot spots. We got the spicy beef broth & thought it was too oily not enough flavor. The meat quality however was great we really enjoyed that. The sauce options were great but I thought the satay sauce was oddly sweet. For the price and quality it was good but I wasn't a big fan of the broth flavor. The service was amazing. read more

I like the idea of membership hotpot. If you eat here at least 3-4 times a year, then the membership is worth it. They're AYCE. The set that has A5 wagyu is about $100 per person. I had the $70 per person set which has American wagyu. The seafood platter filled me up quickly actually. I very much prefer the meat. Its marbling is very good. Quality-wise, it's better than most AYCE place (for the price, it has to). And I think it will cost about the same to eat at this quality at an a la carte place too. The vibe feels very luxury. Food: good quality meat but I do think it is pricy for what it has offered. Their seafood size is very very small. The appetizer is just okay. Sushi is not good.
