Having studied yoga on and off for a good 7 years, I've been through my fair share of teachers. Some I remember, some I don't. But one voice remains clear in my mind to this day, and that's Becky Klett's. Even now, having not seen her in years I still hear her reminding me to align my feet, rotate my hips and isometrically pull my legs together. Her unwavering focus on alignment and proper approach to difficult poses continues to help me in classes where other teachers fail to mention the dangers. This knowledge has kept me from ever physically hurting my body in a yoga class, and it's invaluable. I also like the light and unobtrusive spiritual touch that Becky brings to classes. Regardless of spiritual background, everyone would like to leave a yoga class feeling more centered, more calm, more focused. I always got that in her classes, and I always appreciated the effort she put into making a personal dedication to each class. While never needing them myself, I also saw her give appropriate adjustments for students with injuries or other physical issues. Yoga teachers abound these days; truly gifted ones are a rare gem. Teacher training at TwistedBodies is unlike anywhere else. Before I even registered, Carissa took…read morethe time to sit down and talk with me about my goals, and give me reasonable career expectations. Each TT I've attended has included a functional anatomy emphasis, as well as anatomical terms and positions to accurate detail posture analyses and exercise positions. We cover special populations, and how to modify for just about anybody! Of course we also study the history of Pilates, so we can understand the root purpose of the exercises and why they're so important. Every training has gone step by step through the study materials, followed immediately by practicing the exercises and poses, and time for questions and workshopping. On the last day, we review the material to be tested on to make sure each student feels prepared and knows what might be left to study before a written exam. There are lots of opportunities for practice teaching in the courses themselves, and then afterwards with student teaching hours and shadow teaching. I've never learned anything in a teacher training that didn't help me at some point while teaching a group class or a private session, and each training I've walked away with at least one lesson plan ready to go already. After training, it's really only the beginning though. Carissa & Khristen are basically always available for questions about teaching techniques, anatomy, reviewing exercises- or anything movement based I can come up with! They always have very thoughtful answers and recommendations for further self-study. I've also asked countless business-related questions that they've been a trustworthy source for. They cultivate an environment of humility and learning within their studio, so you always feel welcome to ask other instructors about their experiences as well. If it weren't for TwistedBodies, I doubt I'd be a Yoga & Pilates instructor at all- let alone be building my career in this field. I don't think I'd even know it was possible.

Mid-flow, I could practically hear my body saying, "Ma'am... why haven't you been doing yoga all this time?" There is a clearly listed rule in the fitness area that children under the age of 13 are not…read moreallowed. This rule is regularly broken and not enforced at all. I just watched a young couple allow their child (maybe age 4-5?) climb all over the lifting racks as they biked (with their back to the child) and/or sat on their phone. They even adjusted the safety racks, j-hooks, and bench so she could climb about more. Didn't reset anything when they were done. I'm glad she didn't fall. Not sure what the point of the rule is if it isn't enforced.

3.5 Stars Please…read more.. First off let me say the staff is super friendly, very helpful and yes a welcoming environment! But, if you're 6' or taller you'll have issues with the size of the interior sweatbox. I am 6' and had issues every time. It's just not tall enough for stretching overhead or long enough when you have to lay down. Don't get me wrong, I loved the workouts and the sweating, but besides the interior dimensions, the instructors were just alright as you can tell they were not sweating as much as I was which was a bit unsettling to me. Are they truly really pushing and sweating in a box-like I am? I doubt it because it doesn't look like it and that in and of itself of off-putting to me. Still, I had issues with the dimensions. Not sure who designed them and what they were thinking...? I had signed a contract for three months (as you have to when signing up or unless you go visit to visit) and planned on stopping after three months anyway because of this very issue (the size) no matter how much I enjoyed the workout itself and the sweating. But, since we are moving I had to cut my time short. The cancellation process (as they always are anywhere) was a bit frustrating though the staff was super helpful. It's just the process that's all. Yes, I'm a fan of working out and sweating a lot, but not in a sweatbox that I do not fit and I would prefer to feel like the person instructing is really working out as well especially if you're in a sweatbox like that.

Growing up I've always been a big guy, about 6'8" and always hovering around 300lbs. As a athlete,…read moremy build fit the work. As I stopped playing sports I began to notice how I looked and began to hate my body more and more. I would start a vicious cycle of working out, dieting, and anything else to lose weight quick. It was never satisfying. There was always more weight to lose, always less food to eat. Sick and tired of that I sought out help. Through some personal counceling and meeting with April and Matt at The Shed, I was able to process properly that I have to take care of my body yes, but losing weight wouldn't grant me happiness. Through proper training, eating, and discipline, I could be the best version of myself. That's all I wanted. Currently I'm 4 weeks into their 6 Week Program and I'm becoming obsessed with taking care of my body! Training regularly, fueling my body properly, and pushing myself harder to grow stronger everyday. I'm not trying to lose weight for the sake of losing weight. I am disciplined to being better and feeling good, (and as a by product to that, I'm definitely losing fat and gaining muscle.) I am the strongest I've ever been. The healthiest as well.
