I went last Saturday , Great wine You can bring your own food plus they have a nice sitting area out side read more

Wow- such great wine. We started with the first red- and all the reds that followed were great. We especially liked the cab. Everyone I was with agreed the cab was a shining star- but there wasn't a single bad wine (what a treat!). We loved the port we finished with- Forte Tradicional, which was billed as a Portuguese style port. So good we bought a bottle to share with friends. There's a very pleasant seating area out front where you can enjoy your tasting. We'd had a pretty rocky start to our day, so it was nice to finish the day here, on such a high note. Thank you for the wonderful, unpretentious ambiance and the quality wine. It was a real pleasure to taste here. read more

See all

Went here this past Saturday and had a great experience. Laura was our server and she was really fun! The wines here are unpretentious and satisfy my tastes. I walked away with a 2002 bottle of their Estate Trio, which I'm excited to try. Also got the 2010 and 2012 of the same wine plus a Cab Sauvignon. Would highly recommend! read more

Great, fun little winery! This is what you are looking for in Livermore! There were only a few people there. The winemaker was actually pouring the wine, we actually had a great discussion about the wines and life in general. They had some really interesting, very tasty wines. They had a great sale on some library wines, we had to buy a few cases! read more

Despite the heat, and the ominous 2% grade hill we had to climb to get here, it was well worth the trip. Mostly because the high nosed Peruvian insisted on it ... I was much too drunk last time to remember. To the dismay of the Mexican, he now had to tow a trailer 2 dogs and 2 cases of wine back up that 2% hill. ( Damn you Bryan K. and your bike.) Good place and worth the visit. They were super friendly to our group of 14 hot, sweaty and smelly cyclists. I purchased 2 bottles of the merlot and 2 bottles of the 2003 petite syrah ... 12 bottles (mix and match) gets you a 10% discount. read more

Great people, great wine- what more could you want?! An intimate wine tasting experience is exactly what you'll get if you visit Bodegas Aguirre. You'll most often be greeted by Dr. Aguirre and if you're lucky you may have a real treat with the library wines! And to top it off, they're incredibly giving to the community who supports them. Thank you for all you do! read more

Great service! Came in here before the rodeo this weekend to kill some time and had so much fun. We got to taste some bonus wines and everything was delicious. We walked out with 4 bottles. Everyone was super friendly! read more

This is my second time being here. It's a lovely tasting room and everyone is sweet and excited about wine. I love the energy of the locals. The wine is distinct and flavorful. They were pouring 2008's and 2011's, both were pretty good. The wine is priced very reasonably and invites you to take a chance and purchase a few bottles. We left with a port style wine and a Syrah. I'm reserving the 5 star rating for when I go back. I'd recommend this winery, the wine is notable, location is beautiful and the people are wonderful. read more

We visited Bodegas for Mothers Day this year and it was our last winery of the day. So glad we made it out to this one because it was fantastic. We had bought a case of their library wine on our adventure. Unfortunately, when we opened 4 bottles in the case they were all corked and spoiled. But I contacted the winery to advise them of this and they immediately replaced the case without questions. I loved the customer service I received from Sylvia. She was fantastic! We will be going back soon! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the small beautiful grounds that called to the animal lover in me. Across the way a few baby sheep called out as we walked up the driveway to our destination. We're greeted by Don in the tasting room and instantly feel welcomed. As we tasted such wonderful bouquets of great reds, he surprised us with a rose'. We walked out of Bodegas with a variety of great wines and a future trip back to buy a case of the "rose'" I loved!!! Thank you Don for all the education. We appreciated your time. Cheers. read more

Beauty and booze. Those are the only two things that motivate me to make the almost hour long drive back to the Tri-Valley. WTH are you talking about, you ask? Thia at Hairtini and the Aguirre's at Bodegas Aguirre. Bodegas Aguirre embodies everything to love about a family-run business. Dr. Aguirre and his daughter Sylvia make you feel so welcome on each visit. If you make repeat visits they will remember you and your past conversations, and you really should go many times - great people, great wine, what's not to love? I am not an oenophile by any means nor do I have a particularly refined palate but I am certainly a wino-enthusiast - and I like reds. If you like reds this is a must to try in the Livermore Valley region, as this is their focus. For a great deal on great wine, try their Merlot - and I don't even like Merlot ("I'm not drinking fucking Merlot!"). Their Duo and Nouvo are also favorites of mine. Oh yea, I motherf'ing hate driving so the fact that I'll go to Livermore at all is kind of a BFD. Beauty and booze, gets me every time. read more

Hello Yelpers I've finally decided to take a few minutes and provide a review. The best little winery that could! I've been tasting/buying wine at Bodegas Aguirre Winery for 2+ years & I'm surprised that they don't have more reviews. The winery is owned by the Aguirre family & Doc Aguirre is the Winemaker. The setting is beautiful, they have a covered patio/deck with a big shade tree if you desire to sit outside with a bottle & picnic or heck just a bottle! The tasting room is quaint & the only thing they try to sell you is their excellent wine. $5 taste fee per person, redeemable with the purchase of wine. '08 Carneros Pinot Noir: Outstanding, big fruit, hints of smoke & tar from the med toast French Oak barrels. '08 Estate Cab Sauv Resrv: Big supple fruit, vanilla tannin from the oak barrel but the overall tannins are subdued. Don't wait they are almost sold out of this one. '08 Estate Merlot Resrv: Not your "Sideways" Merlot. It's so smooth, perfect fruit/acidity balance, I accidently drank the whole bottle....I know I'm a wino! Also friendly tasting room staff. Weekends only go visit 'em! read more

Hidden gem of Livermore wine. We hadn't been in for a while and tasting these wines again was a revelation. The distinctive style rang through the Estate Castello Nono blend and the excellent Malbec. We walked out with several bottles and a resolve to come back more often. read more

This small winery was very pleasant even without the bells and whistles of the big ones like Concannon or Wente. I really liked the estate petite syrah as well as the estate duo classico. They have a small deck where you can sit outside but it's not really set up for large amounts of people. read more

I came here with my mom and it did not disappoint. The wine was unique and delicious. I really like when a wine makes me stop and go "oh". I am not a fan of the same old same old when it comes to wine and this winery has a good mix of the classics and the experimental. The staff was friendly and very helpful. read more

This was the first winery I visited in Livermore and it's also my favorite! The wine is awesome and the people are all really friendly. Favorite wine is the Trio blend they have. I was lucky enough to have the owner around when I was there and he was really nice and talked to us about the wines. Definitely bringing my friends here when I have a chance! read more

I really enjoyed my tasting experience at Bodegas Aguirre! The winery itself has a nice tasting room and a nice area outside to just hang out and drink some wine or picnic. The tasting room staff were fantastic! Excellent customer service! Friendly and warm and informative. The wines are really tasty too! I ended up taking home a red blend but I could have gone home with more. This is a must stop at in your wine tour of Livermore! read more

A definite up and comer in the Livermore region. This was our last stop of the day so details are limited. I do know that the Doctor and his family are very nice, and have created a fun atmosphere. There is a nice selection of red varietals here and I can't wait to see what happens as the wine develops. read more

Unspectacular, Uninteresting, Non-Unique wines. We probably won't be back. Seemed busy, but that was because the wine club members were picking up shipments and that is located along the main drag. On the plus side, they have a very friendly staff and nice low key tasting room. I do like that most of the wines are estate grown. The new ports need some work and the rose wasn't quite right on the palette. The tasting room looked like it had a nice patio for the summertime but was underutilized in the winter. read more

Bodegas Aguirre is a winery how they used to be in good old Sonoma - small, friendly, generous and great wines at reasonable prices! It's became my go-to winery in Livermore and it's never less than 5 stars! They have one or two whites, but I don't really care for whites in general. They have a generous number of reds all of which are good and 2013 Cab is absolutely perfect! Tasting is now $10 but waved with a purchase of 1 bottle. Last time the owner was there and treated us with tasting of his library wines - it was perfect. Do not miss it - it's only open on week-end though. read more

I think the wine here is excellent. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are made with grapes grown from Napa Valley. The Duo Classico was excellent. We ended up buying a bottle of their Pinot Noir. The Forte Port was delicious as well. read more

I fell in love this weekend and it wasn't with a woman; it was with "Forte" the Port my lips encountered ecstasy with at Bodegas Aguirre. Sure the place was packed, the vibe was nothing but happy wine times, and the excellent customer service exceeded beyond most, but still all I could think about was how damn good that Port tasted. "Forte" is a non vintage Port. Blending Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Touriga National and Tempranillo. I bought a bottle and trust me I still am in love, and my girl is equally in love with "Forte" too! We have definitely found our "Forte" read more

This is a very small, family run winery definitely worth a visit if you are in the Livermore area. They are passionate abut their wine and it shows in the selection. They make great, affordable red wines and their blends are exceptionally good. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and wants you to enjoy your wine tasting experience. They waive the tasting fee if you buy a bottle of wine, which you inevitably will. I plan to make this winery a regular stop when I am in the area. read more

I stopped by Bodegas Aquirre today while out for the Holidays in the Vineyards event with a friend. Her father had tried a wine from here and liked it so we decided to give it a try. The winery is small and cosy, The staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed talking with Dr. Aquirre, the owner and vintner, who told us about how he makes the wine. The wines were high quality, done in small lots with hand crafting. I even ran into an old friend who was there with a group who were enjoying the wines. It was a fun visit and worth stopping by. read more

Doctor Aguirre and his family have created an environment for true wine lovers. True, the hallmarks of a great wine haven't been achieved, but they are looming..My recommendation is to get in their club now..before it is too late..ala the Turley Vineyards down south everyone kicks themselves over. read more

Hmmmm, new winery and it's interesting, the wines were all decent but they all sort of tasted the same at this one. The only standout was the Pinot Noir and yet it wasn't that much of a standout to cost $42, not when I can find that quality of Pinot for a lot less than that. Not bad but not great either. read more

Deep, dark, delicious reds. Dr. Aguirre is a master of his craft! Sylvia and her team create a fun environment for tasting some excellent wines. Each weekend a different selection is offered for tasting so frequent visits are a must. Join the wine club (no charge) and get a discount. Bodegas Aguirre is a "must stop" on your next Livermore wine tasting expedition. read more

Small winery, people are fun and friendly and they may be passionate about their wine but it is not very good, at least not in my opinion ( and I drink A LOT of wine) . I tried 5 different ones and dumped each one. Nothing worth raving about. From what I hear they are pretty new so maybe in a few more years they stuff with be worth a trip back. read more

This is our favorite Livermore Valley winery. Dr. Aguirre's wine making style and palate suits us to a T. We discovered them several years ago when Dr. Aguirre and his family were attending their tasting room. We have liked their wines so much that we joined the wine club. Year in and year out, we have enjoyed the consistent quality of their wines. read more

Excellent winery ....the wine is fantastic and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is fantastic. Great wine and people , awesome little spot to do a tasting and grab some wine! read more

Another bad winery in Livermore. Not as bad as Big White House, but you still should avoid it. This was one of the last places we went after a long day of tasting and decreasing taste buds, and we still hated it. Lots of sourness at high prices. Yuck. read more

Bodegas Aguirre is a fine addition to the Livermore wine region. We first fell in love with Dr. Aguirre's Estate Petit Syrah and my family's devotion to this winery escalated from there. We tried his exclusive Cabernet Franc Grand Reserva and bought a bottle to serve at Thanksgiving because the wine is so good it deserves a special occasion to be served on. The Forte port mentioned by Eryka V. is also excellent and we are saving a bottle for another grand occasion (or at this point I should invent special holidays just to find an excuse to drink more great wine). Dr. Aguirre is passionate about his craft and is a perfectionist who will not compromise quality, even if it means we need to wait a bit longer to pick up the eagerly awaited Malbec. If you are in the area and are looking for a small boutique winery that has charm, good company (shout out to Sylvia and her staff!), and of course great wine, I would visit Bodegas Aguirre. read more

Solid winery. Not amazing, but quite good. Would return. I bought a bottle of port.

We stumbled across this family owned winery in 2005 on a recommendation from a tasting room staffer in a major Napa winery, and we continue to be impressed with the quality and value of their wine offering. The duo and trio blends have always been favorites that compare with wines from other vinyards at twice the price. And their latest offerings continue the tradition. If you are tasting in Livermore, this is a must stop! read more

If you pay for tasting you should be able to taste their best wines. Did not like the wines that they were serving. Would not go back.
